John 7

John 7:1 After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.
John 7:2 Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was near.
John 7:3 Therefore His brothers said to Him, "Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing.
John 7:4 For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known publicly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world."
John 7:5 For not even His brothers were believing in Him.
John 7:6 So Jesus said to them, "My time is not yet here, but your time is always opportune.
John 7:7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil.
John 7:8 Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come."
John 7:9 Having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.
John 7:10 But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as if, in secret.
John 7:11 So the Jews were seeking Him at the feast and were saying, "Where is He?"
John 7:12 There was much grumbling among the crowds concerning Him; some were saying, "He is a good man"; others were saying, "No, on the contrary, He leads the people astray."
John 7:13 Yet no one was speaking openly of Him for fear of the Jews.
John 7:14 But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and began to teach.
John 7:15 The Jews then were astonished, saying, "How has this man become learned, having never been educated?"
John 7:16 So Jesus answered them and said, "My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
John 7:17 If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.
John 7:18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
John 7:19 "Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me?"
John 7:20 The crowd answered, "You have a demon! Who seeks to kill You?"
John 7:21 Jesus answered them, "I did one deed, and you all marvel.
John 7:22 For this reason Moses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man.
John 7:23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath?
John 7:24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."
John 7:25 So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, "Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill?
John 7:26 Look, He is speaking publicly, and they are saying nothing to Him. The rulers do not really know that this is the Christ, do they?
John 7:27 However, we know where this man is from; but whenever the Christ may come, no one knows where He is from."
John 7:28 Then Jesus cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, "You both know Me and know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
John 7:29 I know Him, because I am from Him, and He sent Me."
John 7:30 So they were seeking to seize Him; and no man laid his hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
John 7:31 But many of the crowd believed in Him; and they were saying, "When the Christ comes, He will not perform more signs than those which this man has, will He?"
John 7:32 The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about Him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to seize Him.
John 7:33 Therefore Jesus said, "For a little while longer I am with you, then I go to Him who sent Me.
John 7:34 You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come."
John 7:35 The Jews then said to one another, "Where does this man intend to go that we will not find Him? He is not intending to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks, is He?
John 7:36 What is this statement that He said, 'You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come'?"
John 7:37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
John 7:38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'"
John 7:39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:40 Some of the people therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, "This certainly is the Prophet."
John 7:41 Others were saying, "This is the Christ." Still others were saying, "Surely the Christ is not going to come from Galilee, is He?
John 7:42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?"
John 7:43 So a division occurred in the crowd because of Him.
John 7:44 Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
John 7:45 The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, "Why did you not bring Him?"
John 7:46 The officers answered, "Never has a man spoken the way this man speaks."
John 7:47 The Pharisees then answered them, "You have not also been led astray, have you?
John 7:48 No one of the rulers or Pharisees has believed in Him, has he?
John 7:49 But this crowd which does not know the Law is accursed."
John 7:50 Nicodemus (he who came to Him before, being one of them) said to them,
John 7:51 "Our Law does not judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?"
John 7:52 They answered him, "You are not also from Galilee, are you? Search, and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee."
John 7:53 [ Everyone went to his home.

King James Version New American Standard Koine Greek
John 7:1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. John 7:1 After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.
John 7:2 Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand. John 7:2 Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was near.
John 7:3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. John 7:3 Therefore His brothers said to Him, "Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing.
John 7:4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world. John 7:4 For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known publicly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world."
John 7:5 For neither did his brethren believe in him. John 7:5 For not even His brothers were believing in Him.
John 7:6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready. John 7:6 So Jesus said to them, "My time is not yet here, but your time is always opportune.
John 7:7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. John 7:7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil.
John 7 8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast for my time is not yet full come. John 7:8 Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come."
John 7:9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee. John 7:9 Having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.
John 7:10 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. John 7:10 But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as if, in secret.
John 7:11 Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? John 7:11 So the Jews were seeking Him at the feast and were saying, "Where is He?" John 7:11 οἱ οὗν ἰουδαῖοι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ καὶ ἔλεγον, ποῦ ἐστιν ἐκεῖνος;
John 7 12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people. John 7:12 There was much grumbling among the crowds concerning Him; some were saying, "He is a good man"; others were saying, "No, on the contrary, He leads the people astray."
John 7:13 Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. John 7:13 Yet no one was speaking openly of Him for fear of the Jews.
John 7:14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. John 7:14 But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and began to teach.
John 7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? John 7:15 The Jews then were astonished, saying, "How has this man become learned, having never been educated?" John 7:15 ἐθαύμαζον οὗν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι λέγοντες, πῶς οὖτος γράμματα οἶδεν μὴ μεμαθηκώς;
John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. John 7:16 So Jesus answered them and said, "My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. John 7:17 If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.
John 7:18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. John 7:18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
John 7:19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? John 7:19 "Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me?" John 7:19 οὐ μωϊσῆς δέδωκεν ὑμῖν τὸν νόμον; καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐξ ὑμῶν ποιεῖ τὸν νόμον. τί με ζητεῖτε ἀποκτεῖναι;
John 7:20 The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee? John 7:20 The crowd answered, "You have a demon! Who seeks to kill You?" John 7:20 ἀπεκρίθη ὁ ὄχλος, δαιμόνιον ἔχεις· τίς σε ζητεῖ ἀποκτεῖναι;
John 7:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. John 7:21 Jesus answered them, "I did one deed, and you all marvel.
John 7:22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. John 7:22 For this reason Moses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man.
John 7:23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? John 7:23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath? John 7:23 εἰ περιτομὴν λαμβάνει ἄνθρωπος ἐν σαββάτῳ ἵνα μὴ λυθῇ ὁ νόμος μωϊσέως, ἐμοὶ χολᾶτε ὅτι ὅλον ἄνθρωπον ὑγιῆ ἐποίησα ἐν σαββάτῳ;
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."
John 7:25 Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill? John 7:25 So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, "Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill? John 7:25 ἔλεγον οὗν τινες ἐκ τῶν ἱεροσολυμιτῶν, οὐχ οὖτός ἐστιν ὃν ζητοῦσιν ἀποκτεῖναι;
John 7:26 But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ? John 7:26 Look, He is speaking publicly, and they are saying nothing to Him. The rulers do not really know that this is the Christ, do they? John 7:26 καὶ ἴδε παρρησίᾳ λαλεῖ καὶ οὐδὲν αὐτῶ λέγουσιν. μήποτε ἀληθῶς ἔγνωσαν οἱ ἄρχοντες ὅτι οὖτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστός;
John 7:27 Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is. John 7:27 However, we know where this man is from; but whenever the Christ may come, no one knows where He is from."
John 7:28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. John 7:28 Then Jesus cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, "You both know Me and know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
John 7:29 But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me. John 7:29 I know Him, because I am from Him, and He sent Me."
John 7:30 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. John 7:30 So they were seeking to seize Him; and no man laid his hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
John 7:31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done? John 7:31 But many of the crowd believed in Him; and they were saying, "When the Christ comes, He will not perform more signs than those which this man has, will He?" John 7:31 ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου δὲ πολλοὶ ἐπίστευσαν εἰς αὐτόν, καὶ ἔλεγον, ὁ χριστὸς ὅταν ἔλθῃ μὴ πλείονα σημεῖα ποιήσει ὧν οὖτος ἐποίησεν;
John 7:32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him. John 7:32 The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about Him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to seize Him.
John 7:33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. John 7:33 Therefore Jesus said, "For a little while longer I am with you, then I go to Him who sent Me.
John 7:34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come. John 7:34 You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come."
John 7:35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? John 7:35 The Jews then said to one another, "Where does this man intend to go that we will not find Him? He is not intending to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks, is He? John 7:35 εἶπον οὗν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι πρὸς ἑαυτούς, ποῦ οὖτος μέλλει πορεύεσθαι ὅτι ἡμεῖς οὐχ εὑρήσομεν αὐτόν; μὴ εἰς τὴν διασπορὰν τῶν ἑλλήνων μέλλει πορεύεσθαι καὶ διδάσκειν τοὺς ἕλληνας;
John 7:36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come? John 7:36 What is this statement that He said, 'You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come'?" John 7:36 τίς ἐστιν ὁ λόγος οὖτος ὃν εἶπεν, ζητήσετέ με καὶ οὐχ εὑρήσετέ [με], καὶ ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ ὑμεῖς οὐ δύνασθε ἐλθεῖν;
John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. John 7:37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'"
John 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) John 7:39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. John 7:40 Some of the people therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, "This certainly is the Prophet."
John 7:41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? John 7:41 Others were saying, "This is the Christ." Still others were saying, "Surely the Christ is not going to come from Galilee, is He? John 7:41 ἄλλοι ἔλεγον, οὖτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστός· οἱ δὲ ἔλεγον, μὴ γὰρ ἐκ τῆς γαλιλαίας ὁ χριστὸς ἔρχεται;
John 7:42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? John 7:42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?" John 7:42 οὐχ ἡ γραφὴ εἶπεν ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος δαυίδ, καὶ ἀπὸ βηθλέεμ τῆς κώμης ὅπου ἦν δαυίδ, ἔρχεται ὁ χριστὸς;
John 7:43 So there was a division among the people because of him. John 7:43 So a division occurred in the crowd because of Him.
John 7:44 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him. John 7:44 Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
John 7:45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? John 7:45 The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, "Why did you not bring Him?" John 7:45 ἦλθον οὗν οἱ ὑπηρέται πρὸς τοὺς ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ φαρισαίους, καὶ εἶπον αὐτοῖς ἐκεῖνοι, διὰ τί οὐκ ἠγάγετε αὐτόν;
John 7:46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man. John 7:46 The officers answered, "Never has a man spoken the way this man speaks."
John 7:47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? John 7:47 The Pharisees then answered them, "You have not also been led astray, have you? John 7:47 ἀπεκρίθησαν οὗν αὐτοῖς οἱ φαρισαῖοι, μὴ καὶ ὑμεῖς πεπλάνησθε;
John 7:48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him? John 7:48 No one of the rulers or Pharisees has believed in Him, has he? John 7:48 μή τις ἐκ τῶν ἀρχόντων ἐπίστευσεν εἰς αὐτὸν ἢ ἐκ τῶν φαρισαίων;
John 7:49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed. John 7:49 But this crowd which does not know the Law is accursed."
John 7:50 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,) John 7:50 Nicodemus (he who came to Him before, being one of them) said to them, John 7:50 λέγει νικόδημος πρὸς αὐτούς, ὁ ἐλθὼν πρὸς αὐτὸν [τὸ] πρότερον, εἷς ὢν ἐξ αὐτῶν,
John 7:51 Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth? John 7:51 "Our Law does not judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?" John 7:51 μὴ ὁ νόμος ἡμῶν κρίνει τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐὰν μὴ ἀκούσῃ πρῶτον παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ γνῶ τί ποιεῖ;
