Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.(nas) Jos 1:5 οὐκ ἀντιστήσεται ἄνθρωπος κατενώπιον ὑμῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς σου καὶ ὥσπερ ἤμην μετὰ Μωυσῆ οὕτως ἔσομαι καὶ μετὰ σοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψω σε οὐδὲ ὑπερόψομαί σε (lxx) Jos 1:5 Nullus poterit vobis resistere cunctis diebus vitæ tuæ: sicut fui cum Moyse, ita ero tecum: non dimittam, nec derelinquam te.(vulgate) Joshua 1:5 There shall not a man be able to withstande thee all the dayes of thy life: as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee: I will not leaue thee, nor forsake thee.(Geneva) Jos 1:5 Es soll dir niemand widerstehen dein Leben lang. Wie ich mit Mose gewesen bin, also will ich auch mit dir sein. I will not leave you nor forsake you.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:6 ============ Jos 1:6 Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.(nas) Jos 1:6 ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου σὺ γὰρ ἀποδιαστελεῖς τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν δοῦναι αὐτοῖς (lxx) Jos 1:6 Confortare, et esto robustus: tu enim sorte divides populo huic terram, pro qua juravi patribus suis, ut traderem eam illis.(vulgate) Joshua 1:6 Be strong and of a good courage: for vnto this people shalt thou deuide the lande for an inheritance, which I sware vnto their fathers to giue them.(Geneva) Jos 1:6 Sei getrost und unverzagt; denn du sollst diesem Volk das Land austeilen, das ich ihren Vätern geschworen habe, daß ich's ihnen geben wollte.(dhs) Jos 1:6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:7 ============ Jos 1:7 Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.(nas) Jos 1:7 ἴσχυε οὖν καὶ ἀνδρίζου φυλάσσεσθαι καὶ ποιεῖν καθότι ἐνετείλατό σοι Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς μου καὶ οὐκ ἐκκλινεῖς ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν εἰς δεξιὰ οὐδὲ εἰς ἀριστερά ἵνα συνῇς ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐὰν πράσσῃς (lxx) Jos 1:7 Confortare igitur, et esto robustus valde, ut custodias, et facias omnem legem, quam præcepit tibi Moyses servus meus: ne declines ab ea ad dexteram vel ad sinistram, ut intelligas cuncta quæ agis.(vulgate) Joshua 1:7 Onely be thou strong, and of a most valiant courage, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all the Lawe which Moses my seruant hath commanded thee: thou shalt not turne away from it to the right hande, nor to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoeuer thou goest.(Geneva) Jos 1:7 Sei nur getrost und sehr freudig, daß du haltest und tust allerdinge nach dem Gesetz, das dir Mose, mein Knecht, geboten hat. Weiche nicht davon, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken, auf daß du weise handeln mögest in allem, was du tun sollst.(dhs) Jos 1:7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:8 ============ Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.(nas) Jos 1:8 καὶ οὐκ ἀποστήσεται ἡ βίβλος τοῦ νόμου τούτου ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου καὶ μελετήσεις ἐν αὐτῷ ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός ἵνα συνῇς ποιεῖν πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα τότε εὐοδωθήσῃ καὶ εὐοδώσεις τὰς ὁδούς σου καὶ τότε συνήσεις (lxx) Jos 1:8 Non recedat volumen legis hujus ab ore tuo: sed meditaberis in eo diebus ac noctibus, ut custodias et facias omnia quæ scripta sunt in eo: tunc diriges viam tuam, et intelliges eam.(vulgate) Joshua 1:8 Let not this booke of the Law depart out of thy mouth, but meditate therin day & night, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all that is written therein: for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou haue good successe.(Geneva) Jos 1:8 Und laß dieses Buch des Gesetzes nicht von deinem Munde kommen, sondern betrachte es Tag und Nacht, auf daß du haltest und tust allerdinge nach dem, was darin geschrieben steht. Noli metuere, et noli timere: quoniam tecum est Dominus Deus tuus in omnibus ad quæcumque perrexeris.~(vulgate) Joshua 1:9 Haue not I commanded thee, saying, Be strong and of a good courage, feare not, nor be discouraged? for I the Lord thy God will be with thee, whithersoeuer thou goest.(Geneva) Jos 1:9 Siehe, ich habe dir geboten, daß du getrost und freudig seist. Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:10 ============ Jos 1:10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,(nas) Jos 1:10 καὶ ἐνετείλατο Ἰησοῦς τοῖς γραμματεῦσιν τοῦ λαοῦ λέγων (lxx) Jos 1:10 Præcepitque Josue principibus populi, dicens: Transite per medium castrorum, et imperate populo, ac dicite:(vulgate) Joshua 1:10 Then Ioshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,(Geneva) Jos 1:10 Da gebot Josua den Hauptleuten des Volks und sprach:(dhs) Jos 1:10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:11 ============ Jos 1:11 "Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, saying, 'Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you are to cross this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you, to possess it.'"(nas) Jos 1:11 εἰσέλθατε κατὰ μέσον τῆς παρεμβολῆς τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ἐντείλασθε τῷ λαῷ λέγοντες ἑτοιμάζεσθε ἐπισιτισμόν ὅτι ἔτι τρεῖς ἡμέραι καὶ ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ιορδάνην τοῦτον εἰσελθόντες κατασχεῖν τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν δίδωσιν ὑμῖν (lxx) Jos 1:11 Præparate vobis cibaria: quoniam post diem tertium transibitis Jordanem, et intrabitis ad possidendam terram quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est vobis.(vulgate) Joshua 1:11 Passe through the hoste, and commande the people, saying, Prepare you vitailes: for after three dayes ye shall passe ouer this Iorden, to goe in to possesse the lande, which the Lord your God giueth you to possesse it.(Geneva) Jos 1:11 Geht durch das Lager und gebietet dem Volk und sprecht: Schafft euch Vorrat; denn über drei Tage werdet ihr über diesen Jordan gehen, daß ihr hineinkommt und das Land einnehmt, daß euch der HERR, euer Gott, geben wird.(dhs) Jos 1:11 "Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, 'Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.' But you shall pass before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and help them,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:15 ============ Jos 1:15 until the Lord gives your brothers rest, as He gives you, and they also possess the land which the Lord your God is giving them. Then you shall return to your own land, and possess that which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise."(nas) Jos 1:15 ἕως ἂν καταπαύσῃ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν ὥσπερ καὶ ὑμᾶς καὶ κληρονομήσωσιν καὶ οὗτοι τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἀπελεύσεσθε ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ ἣν δέδωκεν ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς εἰς τὸ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἀπ᾽ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου (lxx) Jos 1:15 donec det Dominus requiem fratribus vestris sicut et vobis dedit, et possideant ipsi quoque terram quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est eis: et sic revertimini in terram possessionis vestræ, et habitabitis in ea, quam vobis dedit Moyses famulus Domini trans Jordanem contra solis ortum.~(vulgate) Joshua 1:15 Vntill the Lord haue giuen your brethren rest, as well as to you, and vntill they also shall possesse the land, which the Lorde your God giueth them: then shall ye returne vnto the lande of your possession and shall possesse it, which land Moses the Lordes seruant gaue you on this side Iorden toward the sunne rising.(Geneva) Jos 1:15 bis daß der HERR eure Brüder auch zur Ruhe bringt wie euch, daß sie auch einnehmen das Land, das ihnen der HERR, euer Gott, geben wird. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses the Lord's servant gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sunrise."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:16 ============ Jos 1:16 They answered Joshua, saying, "All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.(nas) Jos 1:16 καὶ ἀποκριθέντες τῷ Ἰησοῖ εἶπαν πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλῃ ἡμῖν ποιήσομεν καὶ εἰς πάντα τόπον οὗ ἐὰν ἀποστείλῃς ἡμᾶς πορευσόμεθα (lxx) Jos 1:16 Responderuntque ad Josue, atque dixerunt: Omnia quæ præcepisti nobis, faciemus: et quocumque miseris, ibimus.(vulgate) Joshua 1:16 Then they answered Ioshua, saying, Al that thou hast commaunded vs, we will doe, and whithersoeuer thou sendest vs, we will goe.(Geneva) Jos 1:16 Und sie antworteten Josua und sprachen: Alles, was du uns geboten hast, das wollen wir tun; und wo du uns hinsendest, da wollen wir hin gehen.(dhs) Jos 1:16 So they answered Joshua, saying, "All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:17 ============ Jos 1:17 Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you; only may the Lord your God be with you as He was with Moses.(nas) Jos 1:17 κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἠκούσαμεν Μωυσῆ ἀκουσόμεθα σοῦ πλὴν ἔστω κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν μετὰ σοῦ ὃν τρόπον ἦν μετὰ Μωυσῆ (lxx) Jos 1:17 Sicut obedivimus in cunctis Moysi, ita obediemus et tibi: tantum sit Dominus Deus tuus tecum, sicut fuit cum Moyse.(vulgate) Joshua 1:17 As we obeyed Moses in all things, so will we obey thee: onely the Lorde thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.(Geneva) Jos 1:17 Wie wir Mose gehorsam sind gewesen, so wollen wir dir auch gehorsam sein; allein, daß der HERR, dein Gott, nur mit dir sei, wie er mit Mose war.(dhs) Jos 1:17 Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the Lord your God be with you, as He was with Moses.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:18 ============ Jos 1:18 Anyone who rebels against your command and does not obey your words in all that you command him, shall be put to death; only be strong and courageous." (nas) Jos 1:18 ὁ δὲ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἐὰν ἀπειθήσῃ σοι καὶ ὅστις μὴ ἀκούσῃ τῶν ῥημάτων σου καθότι ἂν αὐτῷ ἐντείλῃ ἀποθανέτω ἀλλὰ ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου (lxx) Jos 1:18 Qui contradixerit ori tuo, et non obedierit cunctis sermonibus, quos præceperis ei, moriatur. Tu tantum confortare, et viriliter age.(vulgate) Joshua 1:18 Whosoeuer shall rebell against thy commaundement, and will not obey thy wordes in all that thou commaundest him, let him bee put to death: onely be strong and of good courage.(Geneva) Jos 1:18 Wer deinem Mund ungehorsam ist und nicht gehorcht deinen Worten in allem, was du uns gebietest, der soll sterben. So they went and came into the house of a harlot whose name was Rahab, and lodged there.(nas) Jos 2:1 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Ναυη ἐκ Σαττιν δύο νεανίσκους κατασκοπεῦσαι λέγων ἀνάβητε καὶ ἴδετε τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν Ιεριχω καὶ πορευθέντες εἰσήλθοσαν οἱ δύο νεανίσκοι εἰς Ιεριχω καὶ εἰσήλθοσαν εἰς οἰκίαν γυναικὸς πόρνης ᾗ ὄνομα Ρααβ καὶ κατέλυσαν ἐκεῖ (lxx) Jos 2:1 Misit igitur Josue filius Nun de Setim duos viros exploratores in abscondito: et dixit eis: Ite, et considerate terram, urbemque Jericho.
