And he said, "I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land which I have sworn to your fathers; and I said, 'I will never break My covenant with you,(nas) Jdg 2:1 καὶ ἀνέβη ἄγγελος κυρίου ἀπὸ Γαλγαλ ἐπὶ τὸν Κλαυθμῶνα καὶ ἐπὶ Βαιθηλ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀνεβίβασα ὑμᾶς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ εἰσήγαγον ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν καὶ εἶπα οὐ διασκεδάσω τὴν διαθήκην μου τὴν μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα (lxx) Jdg 2:1 Ascenditque angelus Domini de Galgalis ad Locum flentium, et ait: Eduxi vos de Ægypto, et introduxi in terram, pro qua juravi patribus vestris: et pollicitus sum ut non facerem irritum pactum meum vobiscum in sempiternum,(vulgate) Judges 2:1 And an Angel of the Lorde came vp from Gilgal to Bochim, & sayd, I made you to go vp out of Egypt, and haue brought you vnto the land which I had sworne vnto your fathers, and sayd, I wil neuer breake my couenant with you.(Geneva) Jdg 2:1 Es kam aber der Engel des HERRN herauf von Gilgal gen Bochim und sprach: Ich habe euch aus Ägypten heraufgeführt und in das Land gebracht, das ich euren Vätern geschworen habe, und sprach, ich wollte meinen Bund mit euch nicht brechen ewiglich;(dhs) Jdg 2:1 Then the Angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said: "I led you up from Egypt and brought you to the land of which I swore to your fathers; and I said, 'I will never break My covenant with you.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:2 ============ Jdg 2:2 and as for you, you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.' But you have not obeyed Me; what is this you have done?(nas) Jdg 2:2 καὶ ὑμεῖς οὐ διαθήσεσθε διαθήκην τοῖς ἐγκαθημένοις εἰς τὴν γῆν ταύτην οὐδὲ τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν προσκυνήσετε ἀλλὰ τὰ γλυπτὰ αὐτῶν συντρίψετε καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια αὐτῶν καθελεῖτε καὶ οὐκ εἰσηκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς μου ὅτι ταῦτα ἐποιήσατε (lxx) Jdg 2:2 ita dumtaxat ut non feriretis fœdus cum habitatoribus terræ hujus, sed aras eorum subverteretis: et noluistis audire vocem meam: cur hoc fecistis?(vulgate) Judges 2:2 Ye also shall make no couenant with the inhabitants of this land, but shall breake downe their altars: but ye haue not obeyed my voyce. Why haue ye done this?(Geneva) Jdg 2:2 ihr aber solltet keinen Bund machen mit den Einwohnern dieses Landes und ihre Altäre zerbrechen. Aber ihr habt meiner Stimme nicht gehorcht. Warum habt ihr das getan?(dhs) Jdg 2:2 And you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.' But you have not obeyed My voice. Why have you done this?(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:3 ============ Jdg 2:3 Therefore I also said, 'I will not drive them out before you; but they will become as thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you.'"(nas) Jdg 2:3 κἀγὼ εἶπον οὐ μὴ ἐξαρῶ αὐτοὺς ἐκ προσώπου ὑμῶν καὶ ἔσονται ὑμῖν εἰς συνοχάς καὶ οἱ θεοὶ αὐτῶν ἔσονται ὑμῖν εἰς σκάνδαλον (lxx) Jdg 2:3 Quam ob rem nolui delere eos a facie vestra: ut habeatis hostes, et dii eorum sint vobis in ruinam.(vulgate) Judges 2:3 Wherefore, I sayd also, I wil not cast them out before you, but they shalbe as thornes vnto your sides, & their gods shalbe your destruction.(Geneva) Jdg 2:3 Da sprach ich auch: Ich will sie nicht vertreiben vor euch, daß sie euch zum Strick werden und ihre Götter zum Netz.(dhs) Jdg 2:3 Therefore I also said, 'I will not drive them out before you; but they shall be thorns in your side, and their gods shall be a snare to you.' "(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:4 ============ Jdg 2:4 When the angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people lifted up their voices and wept.(nas) Jdg 2:4 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἐλάλησεν ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου τοὺς λόγους τούτους πρὸς πάντας υἱοὺς Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπῆραν ὁ λαὸς τὴν φωνὴν αὐτῶν καὶ ἔκλαυσαν (lxx) Jdg 2:4 Cumque loqueretur angelus Domini hæc verba ad omnes filios Israël, elevaverunt ipsi vocem suam, et fleverunt.(vulgate) Judges 2:4 And when the Angel of the Lorde spake these wordes vnto all the children of Israel, the people lift vp their voyce, and wept.(Geneva) Jdg 2:4 Und da der Engel des HERRN solche Worte geredet hatte zu allen Kinder Israel, hob das Volk seine Stimme auf und weinte,(dhs) Jdg 2:4 So it was, when the Angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voices and wept.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:5 ============ Jdg 2:5 So they named that place Bochim; and there they sacrificed to the Lord. (nas) Jdg 2:5 καὶ ἐπωνόμασαν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου Κλαυθμῶνες καὶ ἐθυσίασαν ἐκεῖ τῷ κυρίῳ (lxx) Jdg 2:5 Et vocatum est nomen loci illius, Locus flentium, sive lacrimarum: immolaveruntque ibi hostias Domini.~(vulgate) Judges 2:5 Therefore they called the name of that place, Bochim, and offered sacrifices there vnto the Lord.(Geneva) Jdg 2:5 und hießen die Stätte Bochim und opferten daselbst dem HERRN.(dhs) Jdg 2:5 Then they called the name of that place Bochim; and they sacrificed there to the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:6 ============ Jdg 2:6 When Joshua had dismissed the people, the sons of Israel went each to his inheritance to possess the land.(nas) Jdg 2:6 καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν Ἰησοῦς τὸν λαόν καὶ ἦλθεν ἀνὴρ εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ κατακληρονομῆσαι τὴν γῆν (lxx) Jdg 2:6 Dimisit ergo Josue populum, et abierunt filii Israël unusquisque in possessionem suam, ut obtinerent eam:(vulgate) Judges 2:6 Now when Ioshua had sent the people away, the children of Israel went euery man into his inheritance, to possesse the land.(Geneva) Jdg 2:6 Als Josua das Volk von sich gelassen hatte und die Kinder Israel hingezogen waren, ein jeglicher in sein Erbteil, das Land einzunehmen,(dhs) Jdg 2:6 And when Joshua had dismissed the people, the children of Israel went each to his own inheritance to possess the land.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:7 ============ Jdg 2:7 The people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who survived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of the Lord which He had done for Israel.(nas) Jdg 2:7 καὶ ἐδούλευσεν ὁ λαὸς τῷ κυρίῳ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας Ἰησοῦ καὶ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῶν πρεσβυτέρων ὅσοι ἐμακροημέρευσαν μετὰ Ἰησοῦ ὅσοι ἔγνωσαν πᾶν τὸ ἔργον κυρίου τὸ μέγα ὃ ἐποίησεν ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 2:7 servieruntque Domino cunctis diebus ejus, et seniorum, qui longo post eum vixerunt tempore, et noverant omnia opera Domini quæ fecerat cum Israël.(vulgate) Judges 2:7 And the people had serued the Lord al the dayes of Ioshua, & all the dayes of the Elders that outliued Ioshua, which had seene all the great works of the Lord that he did for Israel.(Geneva) Jdg 2:7 diente das Volk dem HERRN, solange Josua lebte und die Ältesten, die noch lange nach Josua lebten und alle die großen Werke des HERRN gesehen hatten, die er getan hatte.(dhs) Jdg 2:7 So the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord which He had done for Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:8 ============ Jdg 2:8 Then Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of one hundred and ten.(nas) Jdg 2:8 καὶ ἐτελεύτησεν Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Ναυη δοῦλος κυρίου υἱὸς ἑκατὸν δέκα ἐτῶν (lxx) Jdg 2:8 Mortuus est autem Josue filius Nun, famulus Domini, centum et decem annorum,(vulgate) Judges 2:8 But Ioshua the sonne of Nun the seruant of the Lord dyed, when he was an hundreth and ten yeeres olde:(Geneva) Jdg 2:8 Da nun Josua, der Sohn Nuns, gestorben war, der Knecht des HERRN, als er hundertundzehn Jahre alt war,(dhs) Jdg 2:8 Now Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died when he was one hundred and ten years old.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:9 ============ Jdg 2:9 And they buried him in the territory of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.(nas) Jdg 2:9 καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν ὁρίῳ τῆς κληρονομίας αὐτοῦ ἐν Θαμναθαρες ἐν ὄρει Εφραιμ ἀπὸ βορρᾶ τοῦ ὄρους Γαας (lxx) Jdg 2:9 et sepelierunt eum in finibus possessionis suæ in Thamnathsare in monte Ephraim, a septentrionali plaga montis Gaas.(vulgate) Judges 2:9 And they buryed him in the coastes of his inheritance, in Timnath-heres in mount Ephraim, on the Northside of mount Gaash.(Geneva) Jdg 2:9 begruben sie ihn in den Grenzen seines Erbteile zu Thimnath-Heres auf dem Gebirge Ephraim, mitternachtwärts vom Berge Gaas.(dhs) Jdg 2:9 And they buried him within the border of his inheritance at Timnath Heres, in the mountains of Ephraim, on the north side of Mount Gaash.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:10 ============ Jdg 2:10 All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel. (nas) Jdg 2:10 καί γε πᾶσα ἡ γενεὰ ἐκείνη προσετέθησαν πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας αὐτῶν καὶ ἀνέστη γενεὰ ἑτέρα μετ᾽ αὐτούς οἳ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν τὸν κύριον καί γε τὸ ἔργον ὃ ἐποίησεν ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 2:10 Omnisque illa generatio congregata est ad patres suos: et surrexerunt alii, qui non noverant Dominum, et opera quæ fecerat cum Israël.~(vulgate) Judges 2:10 And so all that generation was gathered vnto their fathers, & another generation arose after them, which neither knewe the Lord, nor yet the works, which he had done for Israel.(Geneva) Jdg 2:10 Da auch alle, die zu der Zeit gelebt hatten, zu ihren Vätern versammelt wurden, kam nach ihnen ein andres Geschlecht auf, das den HERRN nicht kannte noch sein Werke, die er an Israel getan hatte.(dhs) Jdg 2:10 When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:11 ============ Jdg 2:11 Then the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals,(nas) Jdg 2:11 καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἐλάτρευσαν τοῖς Βααλιμ (lxx) Jdg 2:11 Feceruntque filii Israël malum in conspectu Domini, et servierunt Baalim.(vulgate) Judges 2:11 Then the children of Israel did wickedly in the sight of the Lord, and serued Baalim,(Geneva) Jdg 2:11 Da taten die Kinder Israel übel vor dem HERRN und dienten den Baalim(dhs) Jdg 2:11 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals;(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:12 ============ Jdg 2:12 and they forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed themselves down to them; thus they provoked the Lord to anger.(nas) Jdg 2:12 καὶ ἐγκατέλιπον τὸν κύριον τὸν θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν τὸν ἐξαγαγόντα αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέρων ἀπὸ τῶν θεῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν τῶν περικύκλῳ αὐτῶν καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτοῖς καὶ παρώργισαν τὸν κύριον (lxx) Jdg 2:12 Ac dimiserunt Dominum Deum patrum suorum, qui eduxerat eos de terra Ægypti, et secuti sunt deos alienos, deosque populorum, qui habitabant in circuitu eorum, et adoraverunt eos: et ad iracundiam concitaverunt Dominum,(vulgate) Judges 2:12 And forsooke ye Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the lande of Egypt, & followed other gods, euen the gods of the people that were round about them, & bowed vnto them, and prouoked the Lord to anger.(Geneva) Jdg 2:12 und verließen den HERRN, ihrer Väter Gott, der sie aus Ägyptenland geführt hatte, und folgten andern Göttern nach von den Göttern der Völker, die um sie her wohnten, und beteten sie an und erzürnten den HERRN;(dhs) Jdg 2:12 and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:13 ============ Jdg 2:13 So they forsook the Lord and served Baal and the Ashtaroth.(nas) Jdg 2:13 καὶ ἐγκατέλιπον αὐτὸν καὶ ἐλάτρευσαν τῷ Βααλ καὶ ταῖς Ἀστάρταις (lxx) Jdg 2:13 dimittentes eum, et servientes Baal et Astaroth.(vulgate) Judges 2:13 So they forsooke the Lorde, and serued Baal, and Ashtaroth.(Geneva) Jdg 2:13 denn sie verließen je und je den HERRN und dienten Baal und den Astharoth.(dhs) Jdg 2:13 They forsook the Lord and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:14 ============ Jdg 2:14 The anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He gave them into the hands of plunderers who plundered them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies around them, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.(nas) Jdg 2:14 καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς εἰς χεῖρας προνομευόντων καὶ κατεπρονόμευσαν αὐτούς καὶ ἀπέδοτο αὐτοὺς ἐν χερσὶ τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν κυκλόθεν καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνήθησαν ἔτι ἀντιστῆναι κατὰ πρόσωπον τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν (lxx) Jdg 2:14 Iratusque Dominus contra Israël, tradidit eos in manus diripientium: qui ceperunt eos, et vendiderunt hostibus qui habitabant per gyrum: nec potuerunt resistere adversariis suis,(vulgate) Judges 2:14 And the wrath of the Lorde was hote against Israel, & he deliuered them into the hands of spoylers, that spoyled them, and he sold them into the handes of their enemies rounde about them, so that they could no longer stande before their enemies.(Geneva) Jdg 2:14 So ergrimmte der Zorn des HERRN über Israel und gab sie in die Hand der Räuber, daß diese sie beraubten, und verkaufte sie in die Hände ihrer Feinde umher. Und sie konnten nicht mehr ihren Feinden widerstehen;(dhs) Jdg 2:14 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So He delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:15 ============ Jdg 2:15 Wherever they went, the hand of the Lord was against them for evil, as the Lord had spoken and as the Lord had sworn to them, so that they were severely distressed.(nas) Jdg 2:15 ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐξεπορεύοντο καὶ χεὶρ κυρίου ἦν ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς εἰς κακά καθὼς ἐλάλησεν κύριος καὶ καθὼς ὤμοσεν κύριος αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐξέθλιψεν αὐτοὺς σφόδρα (lxx) Jdg 2:15 sed quocumque pergere voluissent, manus Domini super eos erat, sicut locutus est, et juravit eis, et vehementer afflicti sunt.~(vulgate) Judges 2:15 Whithersoeuer they went out, the hand of the Lord was sore against them, as ye Lord had sayd, and as the Lord had sworne vnto them: so he punished them sore.(Geneva) Jdg 2:15 sondern wo sie hinaus wollten, da war des HERRN Hand wider sie zum Unglück, wie denn der HERR ihnen gesagt und geschworen hatte. Und sie wurden hart gedrängt.(dhs) Jdg 2:15 Wherever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for calamity, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn to them. And they were greatly distressed.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:16 ============ Jdg 2:16 Then the Lord raised up judges who delivered them from the hands of those who plundered them.(nas) Jdg 2:16 καὶ ἤγειρεν κύριος κριτάς καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν προνομευόντων αὐτούς (lxx) Jdg 2:16 Suscitavitque Dominus judices, qui liberarent eos de vastantium manibus: sed nec eos audire voluerunt,(vulgate) Judges 2:16 Notwithstanding, the Lorde raysed vp Iudges, which deliuered them out of the hands of their oppressours.(Geneva) Jdg 2:16 Wenn dann der HERR Richter auferweckte, die ihnen halfen aus der Räuber Hand,(dhs) Jdg 2:16 Nevertheless, the Lord raised up judges who delivered them out of the hand of those who plundered them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:17 ============ Jdg 2:17 Yet they did not listen to their judges, for they played the harlot after other gods and bowed themselves down to them. They turned aside quickly from the way in which their fathers had walked in obeying the commandments of the Lord; they did not do as their fathers.(nas) Jdg 2:17 καί γε τῶν κριτῶν οὐχ ὑπήκουσαν ὅτι ἐξεπόρνευσαν ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέρων καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐξέκλιναν ταχὺ ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ ἧς ἐπορεύθησαν οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν τοῦ εἰσακούειν τῶν λόγων κυρίου οὐκ ἐποίησαν οὕτως (lxx) Jdg 2:17 fornicantes cum diis alienis, et adorantes eos. Cito deseruerunt viam, per quam ingressi fuerant patres eorum: et audientes mandata Domini, omnia fecere contraria.(vulgate) Judges 2:17 But yet they would not obey their Iudges: for they went a whoring after other gods, & worshipped them, & turned quickly out of the way, wherein their fathers walked, obeying the commandements of the Lord: they did not so.(Geneva) Jdg 2:17 so gehorchten sie den Richtern auch nicht, sondern liefen andern Göttern nach und beteten sie an und wichen bald von dem Weg, darauf ihre Väter gegangen waren, des HERRN Geboten zu gehorchen, und taten nicht wie dieselben.(dhs) Jdg 2:17 Yet they would not listen to their judges, but they played the harlot with other gods, and bowed down to them. They turned quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, in obeying the commandments of the Lord; they did not do so.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:18 ============ Jdg 2:18 When the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge and delivered them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed and afflicted them.(nas) Jdg 2:18 καὶ ὅτι ἤγειρεν κύριος κριτὰς αὐτοῖς καὶ ἦν κύριος μετὰ τοῦ κριτοῦ καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτοὺς ἐκ χειρὸς ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τοῦ κριτοῦ ὅτι παρεκλήθη κύριος ἀπὸ τοῦ στεναγμοῦ αὐτῶν ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν πολιορκούντων αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐκθλιβόντων αὐτούς (lxx) Jdg 2:18 Cumque Dominus judices suscitaret, in diebus eorum flectebatur misericordia, et audiebat afflictorum gemitus, et liberabat eos de cæde vastantium.(vulgate) Judges 2:18 And when the Lorde had raysed them vp Iudges, the Lord was with the Iudge, & deliuered them out of the hande of their enemies all the dayes of the Iudge (for the Lord had compassio on their gronings, because of them that oppressed them and tormented them)(Geneva) Jdg 2:18 Wenn aber der HERR ihnen Richter erweckte, so war der HERR mit dem Richter und half ihnen aus ihrer Feinde Hand, solange der Richter lebte. Denn es jammerte den HERRN ihr Wehklagen über die, so sie zwangen und drängten.(dhs) Jdg 2:18 And when the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:19 ============ Jdg 2:19 But it came about when the judge died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their stubborn ways.(nas) Jdg 2:19 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἀπέθνῃσκεν ὁ κριτής καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν καὶ πάλιν διέφθειραν ὑπὲρ τοὺς πατέρας αὐτῶν πορεύεσθαι ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέρων λατρεύειν αὐτοῖς καὶ προσκυνεῖν αὐτοῖς οὐκ ἀπέρριψαν τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτῶν τὰς σκληράς (lxx) Jdg 2:19 Postquam autem mortuus esset judex, revertebantur, et multo faciebant pejora quam fecerant patres eorum, sequentes deos alienos, servientes eis, et adorantes illos. They did not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn way.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:20 ============ Jdg 2:20 So the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He said, "Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers and has not listened to My voice,(nas) Jdg 2:20 καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ὅσα ἐγκατέλιπον τὸ ἔθνος τοῦτο τὴν διαθήκην μου ἣν ἐνετειλάμην τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ εἰσήκουσαν τῆς φωνῆς μου (lxx) Jdg 2:20 Iratusque est furor Domini in Israël, et ait: Quia irritum fecit gens ista pactum meum, quod pepigeram cum patribus eorum, et vocem meam audire contempsit:(vulgate) Judges 2:20 Wherfore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he sayd, Because this people hath transgressed my couenant, which I commaded their fathers, & hath not obeyed my voyce,(Geneva) Jdg 2:20 Darum ergrimmte denn des HERRN Zorn über Israel, daß er sprach: Weil dies Volk meinen Bund übertreten hat, den ich ihren Vätern geboten habe, und gehorchen meiner Stimme nicht,(dhs) Jdg 2:20 Then the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and He said, "Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not heeded My voice,(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:21 ============ Jdg 2:21 I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died,(nas) Jdg 2:21 καί γε ἐγὼ οὐ προσθήσω τοῦ ἐξᾶραι ἄνδρα ἐκ προσώπου αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῶν ἐθνῶν ὧν κατέλιπεν Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Ναυη ἐν τῇ γῇ καὶ ἀφῆκεν (lxx) Jdg 2:21 et ego non delebo gentes, quas dimisit Josue, et mortuus est:(vulgate) Judges 2:21 Therefore will I no more cast out before them any of the nations, which Ioshua left when he dyed,(Geneva) Jdg 2:21 so will ich auch hinfort die Heiden nicht vertreiben, die Josua hat gelassen, da er starb,(dhs) Jdg 2:21 I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died,(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:22 ============ Jdg 2:22 in order to test Israel by them, whether they will keep the way of the Lord to walk in it as their fathers did, or not."(nas) Jdg 2:22 τοῦ πειράσαι ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸν Ισραηλ εἰ φυλάσσονται τὴν ὁδὸν κυρίου πορεύεσθαι ἐν αὐτῇ ὃν τρόπον ἐφύλαξαν οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν ἢ οὔ (lxx) Jdg 2:22 ut in ipsis experiar Israël, utrum custodiant viam Domini, et ambulent in ea, sicut custodierunt patres eorum, an non.(vulgate) Judges 2:22 That through them I may proue Israel, whether they wil keepe the way of the Lorde, to walke therein, as their fathers kept it, or not.(Geneva) Jdg 2:22 daß ich Israel durch sie versuche, ob sie auf dem Wege des HERRN bleiben, daß sie darin wandeln, wie ihre Väter geblieben sind, oder nicht.(dhs) Jdg 2:22 so that through them I may test Israel, whether they will keep the ways of the Lord, to walk in them as their fathers kept them, or not."(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:23 ============ Jdg 2:23 So the Lord allowed those nations to remain, not driving them out quickly; and He did not give them into the hand of Joshua. (nas) Jdg 2:23 καὶ ἀφῆκεν κύριος τὰ ἔθνη ταῦτα τοῦ μὴ ἐξᾶραι αὐτὰ τὸ τάχος καὶ οὐ παρέδωκεν αὐτὰ ἐν χειρὶ Ἰησοῦ (lxx) Jdg 2:23 Dimisit ergo Dominus omnes nationes has, et cito subvertere noluit, nec tradidit in manus Josue.(vulgate) Judges 2:23 So the Lorde left those nations, and droue them not out immediately, neither deliuered them into the hand of Ioshua.(Geneva) Jdg 2:23 Also ließ der HERR diese Heiden, daß er sie nicht bald vertrieb, die er nicht hatte in Josuas Hand übergeben.(dhs) Jdg 2:23 Therefore the Lord left those nations, without driving them out immediately; nor did He deliver them into the hand of Joshua.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:1 ============ Jdg 3:1 Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to test Israel by them (that is, all who had not experienced any of the wars of Canaan;(nas) Jdg 3:1 καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ἔθνη ἃ ἀφῆκεν κύριος αὐτὰ ὥστε πειράσαι ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸν Ισραηλ πάντας τοὺς μὴ ἐγνωκότας τοὺς πολέμους Χανααν (lxx) Jdg 3:1 Hæ sunt gentes quas Dominus dereliquit, ut erudiret in eis Israëlem, et omnes qui non noverant bella Chananæorum:(vulgate) Judges 3:1 These nowe are the nations which the Lorde left, that he might proue Israel by them (euen as many of Israel as had not knowen all the warres of Canaan,(Geneva) Jdg 3:1 Dies sind die Heiden, die der HERR ließ bleiben, daß er durch sie Israel versuchte, alle, die nicht wußten um die Kriege Kanaans,(dhs) Jdg 3:1 Now these are the nations which the Lord left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan(nkjv) |
