Canaan;(nas) Jdg 3:1 καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ἔθνη ἃ ἀφῆκεν κύριος αὐτὰ ὥστε πειράσαι ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸν Ισραηλ πάντας τοὺς μὴ ἐγνωκότας τοὺς πολέμους Χανααν (lxx) Jdg 3:1 Hæ sunt gentes quas Dominus dereliquit, ut erudiret in eis Israëlem, et omnes qui non noverant bella Chananæorum:(vulgate) Judges 3:1 These nowe are the nations which the Lorde left, that he might proue Israel by them (euen as many of Israel Jdg 3:3 These nations are: the five lords of the Philistines and all the Canaanites and the Sidonians and the Hivites who lived in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal-hermon as far as Lebo-hamath.(nas) Jdg 3:3 τὰς πέντε σατραπείας τῶν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ πάντα τὸν Χαναναῖον καὶ τὸν Σιδώνιον καὶ τὸν Ευαῖον τὸν κατοικοῦντα τὸν Λίβανον ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους τοῦ Αερμων ἕως Λαβωεμαθ (lxx) Jdg 3:3 quinque satrapas Philisthinorum, omnemque Chananæum, et Sidonium, atque Hevæum, qui habitabat in monte Libano, de monte Baal Hermon usque ad introitum Emath.(vulgate) Judges 3:3 Fiue princes of the Philistims, and all Sidonians, and the Hivites who dwelt in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal Hermon to the entrance of Hamath.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:4 ============ Jdg 3:4 They were for testing Israel, to find out if they would obey the commandments of the Lord, which He had commanded their fathers through Moses.(nas) Jdg 3:4 καὶ ἐγένετο ὥστε πειράσαι ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸν Ισραηλ γνῶναι εἰ ἀκούσονται τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου ἃς sons of Israel lived among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites;(nas) Jdg 3:5 καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ κατῴκησαν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ Χαναναίου καὶ τοῦ Χετταίου καὶ τοῦ Αμορραίου καὶ τοῦ Φερεζαίου καὶ τοῦ Ευαίου καὶ τοῦ Ιεβουσαίου (lxx) Jdg 3:5 Itaque filii Israël habitaverunt in medio Chananæi, et Hethæi, et Amorrhæi, et Pherezæi, et Hevæi, et sons, and served their gods.(nas) Jdg 3:6 καὶ ἔλαβον τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτῶν ἑαυτοῖς εἰς γυναῖκας καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτῶν ἔδωκαν τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐλάτρευσαν τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν (lxx) Jdg 3:6 et duxerunt uxores filias eorum, ipsique filias suas filiis eorum tradiderunt, et servierunt diis eorum.~(vulgate) Judges 3:6 And they tooke their daughters to bee their wiues, and gaue their daughters to their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons; and they served their gods.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:7 ============ Jdg 3:7 The sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Asheroth.(nas) Jdg 3:7 καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἐπελάθοντο κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐλάτρευσαν τοῖς Βααλιμ καὶ τοῖς ἄλσεσιν (lxx) Jdg 3:7 Feceruntque malum in conspectu Domini, et obliti sunt Dei sui, servientes Baalim et Astaroth.(vulgate) Judges 3:7 So the children of Israel did wickedly in the sight of the Lord, & forgate the Lorde their God, and serued Baalim, and Asheroth.(Geneva) Jdg 3:7 Und die Kinder Israel taten übel vor dem HERRN und vergaßen des HERRN, ihres Gottes, und dienten den Baalim und den Ascheroth.(dhs) Jdg 3:7 So the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. They forgot the Lord their God, and served the Baals and Asherahs.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:8 ============ Jdg 3:8 Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, so that He sold them into the hands of Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the sons of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years. (nas) Jdg 3:8 καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπέδοτο αὐτοὺς ἐν χειρὶ Χουσαρσαθαιμ βασιλέως Συρίας ποταμῶν καὶ ἐδούλευσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τῷ Χουσαρσαθαιμ ἔτη ὀκτώ (lxx) Jdg 3:8 Iratusque contra Israël Dominus, tradidit eos in manus Chusan Rasathaim regis Mesopotamiæ, servieruntque ei octo annis.(vulgate) Judges 3:8 Therefore the wrath of the Lorde was kindled against Israel, and he solde them into the hand of Chushan rishathaim King of Aram-naharaim, and the children of Israel serued Chushan rishathaim eyght yeeres.(Geneva) Jdg 3:8 Da ergrimmte der Zorn des HERRN über Israel, und er verkaufte sie unter die Hand Kusan-Risathaims, des Königs von Mesopotamien; und dienten also die Kinder Israel dem Kusan-Risathaim acht Jahre.(dhs) Jdg 3:8 Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim eight years.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:9 ============ Jdg 3:9 When the sons of Israel cried to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for the sons of Israel to deliver them, Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.(nas) Jdg 3:9 καὶ ἐκέκραξαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς κύριον καὶ ἤγειρεν κύριος σωτῆρα τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτούς τὸν Γοθονιηλ υἱὸν Κενεζ ἀδελφοῦ Χαλεβ τὸν νεώτερον ὑπὲρ αὐτόν (lxx) Jdg 3:9 Et clamaverunt ad Dominum, qui suscitavit eis salvatorem, et liberavit eos, Othoniel videlicet filium Cenez, fratrem Caleb minorem:(vulgate) Judges 3:9 And when the children of Israel cryed vnto the Lorde, the Lord stirred vp a sauiour to ye children of Israel, & he saued them, euen Othniel the sonne of Kenaz, Calebs yonger brother.(Geneva) Jdg 3:9 Da schrieen die Kinder Israel zu dem HERRN; und der HERR erweckte ihnen einen Heiland, der sie erlöste; Othniel, den Sohn Kenas, Kalebs jüngsten Bruder.(dhs) Jdg 3:9 When the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:10 ============ Jdg 3:10 The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. When he went out to war, the Lord gave Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand, so that he prevailed over Cushan-rishathaim.(nas) Jdg 3:10 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν πνεῦμα κυρίου καὶ ἔκρινεν τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐξῆλθεν εἰς πόλεμον πρὸς Χουσαρσαθαιμ καὶ παρέδωκεν κύριος ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ τὸν Χουσαρσαθαιμ βασιλέα Συρίας ποταμῶν καὶ ἐκραταιώθη ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸν Χουσαρσαθαιμ (lxx) Jdg 3:10 fuitque in eo spiritus Domini, et judicavit Israël. Egressusque est ad pugnam, et tradidit Dominus in manus ejus Chusan Rasathaim regem Syriæ, et oppressit eum.(vulgate) Judges 3:10 And the spirite of the Lorde came vpon him, and he iudged Israel, & went out to warre: and the Lord deliuered Chushan rishathaim king of Aram into his hand, and his hand preuailed against Chushan rishathaim.(Geneva) Jdg 3:10 Und der Geist des HERRN kam auf ihn, und er ward Richter in Israel und zog aus zum Streit. Und der HERR gab den König von Mesopotamien, Kusan-Risathaim, in seine Hand, daß seine Hand über ihn zu stark ward.(dhs) Jdg 3:10 The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord delivered Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed over Cushan-Rishathaim.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:11 ============ Jdg 3:11 Then the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.(nas) Jdg 3:11 καὶ ἡσύχασεν ἡ γῆ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη καὶ ἀπέθανεν Γοθονιηλ υἱὸς Κενεζ (lxx) Jdg 3:11 Quievitque terra quadraginta annis, et mortuus est Othoniel filius Cenez.~(vulgate) Judges 3:11 So the lande had rest fourtie yeeres, and Othniel the sonne of Kenaz dyed.(Geneva) Jdg 3:11 Da ward das Land still vierzig Jahre. Und Othniel, der Sohn Kenas, starb.(dhs) Jdg 3:11 So the land had rest for forty years. Then Othniel the son of Kenaz died.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:12 ============ Jdg 3:12 Now the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord.(nas) Jdg 3:12 καὶ προσέθεντο οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ποιῆσαι τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἐνίσχυσεν κύριος τὸν Εγλωμ βασιλέα Μωαβ ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ διὰ τὸ πεποιηκέναι αὐτοὺς τὸ πονηρὸν ἔναντι κυρίου (lxx) Jdg 3:12 Addiderunt autem filii Israël facere malum in conspectu Domini: qui confortavit adversum eos Eglon regem Moab, quia fecerunt malum in conspectu ejus.(vulgate) Judges 3:12 Then the children of Israel againe committed wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord strengthened Eglon King of Moab against Israel, because they had committed wickednesse before the Lord.(Geneva) Jdg 3:12 Aber die Kinder Israel taten fürder übel vor dem HERRN. Da stärkte der HERR den Eglon, den König der Moabiter, wider Israel, darum daß sie übel taten vor dem HERRN.(dhs) Jdg 3:12 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord strengthened Eglon king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:13 ============ Jdg 3:13 And he gathered to himself the sons of Ammon and Amalek; and he went and defeated Israel, and they possessed the city of the palm trees.(nas) Jdg 3:13 καὶ συνήγαγεν πρὸς ἑαυτὸν πάντας τοὺς υἱοὺς Αμμων καὶ Αμαληκ καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐκληρονόμησεν τὴν πόλιν τῶν φοινίκων (lxx) Jdg 3:13 Et copulavit ei filios Ammon, et Amalec: abiitque et percussit Israël, atque possedit urbem palmarum.(vulgate) Judges 3:13 And he gathered vnto him the children of Ammon, and Amalek, & went and smote Israel, and they possessed the citie of palme trees.(Geneva) Jdg 3:13 Und er sammelte zu sich die Kinder Ammon und die Amalekiter und zog hin und schlug Israel und nahm ein die Palmenstadt.(dhs) Jdg 3:13 Then he gathered to himself the people of Ammon and Amalek, went and defeated Israel, and took possession of the City of Palms.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:14 ============ Jdg 3:14 The sons of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years. (nas) Jdg 3:14 καὶ ἐδούλευσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τῷ Εγλωμ βασιλεῖ Μωαβ ἔτη δέκα ὀκτώ (lxx) Jdg 3:14 Servieruntque filii Israël Eglon regi Moab decem et octo annis.(vulgate) Judges 3:14 So the children of Israel serued Eglon king of Moab eighteene yeeres.(Geneva) Jdg 3:14 Und die Kinder Israel dienten Eglon, dem König der Moabiter, achtzehn Jahre.(dhs) Jdg 3:14 So the children of Israel served Eglon king of Moab eighteen years.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:15 ============ Jdg 3:15 But when the sons of Israel cried to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for them, Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. And the sons of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.(nas) Jdg 3:15 καὶ ἐκέκραξαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς κύριον καὶ ἤγειρεν αὐτοῖς σωτῆρα τὸν Αωδ υἱὸν Γηρα υἱὸν τοῦ Ιεμενι ἄνδρα ἀμφοτεροδέξιον καὶ ἐξαπέστειλαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ δῶρα ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ τῷ Εγλωμ βασιλεῖ Μωαβ (lxx) Jdg 3:15 Et postea clamaverunt ad Dominum, qui suscitavit eis salvatorem vocabulo Aod, filium Gera, filii Jemini, qui utraque manu pro dextera utebatur. Miseruntque filii Israël per illum munera Eglon regi Moab.(vulgate) Judges 3:15 But when the children of Israel cried vnto the Lorde, the Lorde stirred them vp a sauiour, Ehud the sonne of Gera the sonne of Iemini, a man lame of his right hande: and the children of Israel sent a present by him vnto Eglon King of Moab.(Geneva) Jdg 3:15 Da schrieen sie zu dem HERRN; und der HERR erweckte ihnen einen Heiland: Ehud, den Sohn Geras, den Benjaminiten, der war links. Und da die Kinder Israel durch ihn Geschenk sandten Eglon, dem König der Moabiter,(dhs) Jdg 3:15 But when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. By him the children of Israel sent tribute to Eglon king of Moab.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:16 ============ Jdg 3:16 Ehud made himself a sword which had two edges, a cubit in length, and he bound it on his right thigh under his cloak.(nas) Jdg 3:16 καὶ ἐποίησεν ἑαυτῷ Αωδ μάχαιραν δίστομον σπιθαμῆς τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς καὶ περιεζώσατο αὐτὴν ὑπὸ τὸν μανδύαν ἐπὶ τὸν μηρὸν τὸν δεξιὸν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 3:16 Qui fecit sibi gladium ancipitem, habentem in medio capulum longitudinis palmæ manus, et accinctus est eo subter sagum in dextro femore.(vulgate) Judges 3:16 And Ehud made him a dagger with two edges of a cubite length, and he did gird it vnder his rayment vpon his right thigh,(Geneva) Jdg 3:16 machte sich Ehud ein zweischneidig Schwert, eine Elle lang, und gürtete es unter sein Kleid auf seine rechte Hüfte(dhs) Jdg 3:16 Now Ehud made himself a dagger (it was double-edged and a cubit in length) and fastened it under his clothes on his right thigh.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:17 ============ Jdg 3:17 He presented the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. Now Eglon was a very fat man.(nas) Jdg 3:17 καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ προσήνεγκεν τὰ δῶρα τῷ Εγλωμ βασιλεῖ Μωαβ καὶ Εγλωμ ἀνὴρ ἀστεῖος σφόδρα (lxx) Jdg 3:17 Obtulitque munera Eglon regi Moab. Erat autem Eglon crassus nimis.(vulgate) Judges 3:17 And he presented ye gift vnto Eglon King of Moab (and Eglon was a very fat man)(Geneva) Jdg 3:17 und brachte das Geschenk dem Eglon, dem König der Moabiter. Eglon aber war ein sehr fetter Mann.(dhs) Jdg 3:17 So he brought the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. (Now Eglon was a very fat man.)(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:18 ============ Jdg 3:18 It came about when he had finished presenting the tribute, that he sent away the people who had carried the tribute.(nas) Jdg 3:18 καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα συνετέλεσεν Αωδ προσφέρων τὰ δῶρα καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν τοὺς φέροντας τὰ δῶρα (lxx) Jdg 3:18 Cumque obtulisset ei munera, prosecutus est socios, qui cum eo venerant.(vulgate) Judges 3:18 And when he had now presented the present, he sent away the people that bare ye present,(Geneva) Jdg 3:18 Und da er das Geschenk hatte überantwortet, ließ er das Volk von sich, die das Geschenk getragen hatten,(dhs) Jdg 3:18 And when he had finished presenting the tribute, he sent away the people who had carried the tribute.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:19 ============ Jdg 3:19 But he himself turned back from the idols which were at Gilgal, and said, "I have a secret message for you, O king." And he said, "Keep silence." And all who attended him left him.(nas) Jdg 3:19 καὶ αὐτὸς ὑπέστρεψεν ἀπὸ τῶν γλυπτῶν τῶν μετὰ τῆς Γαλγαλ καὶ εἶπεν Αωδ λόγος μοι κρύφιος πρὸς σέ βασιλεῦ καὶ εἶπεν Εγλωμ πρὸς αὐτόν σιώπα καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν ἀφ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ πάντας τοὺς ἐφεστῶτας ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν (lxx) Jdg 3:19 Et reversus de Galgalis, ubi erant idola, dixit ad regem: Verbum secretum habeo ad te, o rex. Et ille imperavit silentium: egressisque omnibus qui circa eum erant,(vulgate) Judges 3:19 But he turned againe from the quarris, that were by Gilgal, & said, I haue a secret errand vnto thee, O King. Who said, Keepe silence: and all that stoode about him, went out from him.(Geneva) Jdg 3:19 und kehrte um von den Götzen zu Gilgal und ließ ansagen: Ich habe, o König, dir was Heimliches zu sagen. Er aber hieß schweigen, und gingen aus von ihm alle, die um ihn standen.(dhs) Jdg 3:19 But he himself turned back from the stone images that were at Gilgal, and said, "I have a secret message for you, O king." He said, "Keep silence!" And all who attended him went out from him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:20 ============ Jdg 3:20 Ehud came to him while he was sitting alone in his cool roof chamber. And Ehud said, "I have a message from God for you." And he arose from his seat.(nas) Jdg 3:20 καὶ Αωδ εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐκάθητο ἐν τῷ ὑπερῴῳ τῷ θερινῷ τῷ ἑαυτοῦ μονώτατος καὶ εἶπεν Αωδ λόγος θεοῦ μοι πρὸς σέ βασιλεῦ καὶ ἐξανέστη ἀπὸ τοῦ θρόνου Εγλωμ ἐγγὺς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 3:20 ingressus est Aod ad eum: sedebat autem in æstivo cœnaculo solus: dixitque: Verbum Dei habeo ad te. Qui statim surrexit de throno.(vulgate) Judges 3:20 Then Ehud came vnto him. (and he sate alone in a sommer parler, which he had) and Ehud said, I haue a message vnto thee from God. Then he arose out of his throne,(Geneva) Jdg 3:20 Und Ehud kam zu ihm hinein. Er aber saß oben in der Sommerlaube, die für ihn allein war. Und Ehud sprach: Ich habe Gottes Wort an dich. Servique regis ingressi viderunt clausas fores cœnaculi, atque dixerunt: Forsitan purgat alvum in æstivo cubiculo.(vulgate) Judges 3:24 And when he was gone out, his seruantes came: who seeing that the doores of the parler were locked, they sayd, Surely he doeth his easement in his sommer chamber.(Geneva) Jdg 3:24 Da er nun hinaus war, kamen seine Knechte und sahen, daß die Tür verschlossen war, und sprachen: Er ist vielleicht zu Stuhl gegangen in der Kammer an der Sommerlaube.(dhs) Jdg 3:24 When he had gone out, Eglon's servants came to look, and to their surprise, the doors of the upper room were locked. So they said, "He is probably attending to his needs in the cool chamber."(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:25 ============ Jdg 3:25 They waited until they became anxious; but behold, he did not open the doors of the roof chamber. Therefore they took the key and opened them, and behold, their master had fallen to the floor dead.(nas) Jdg 3:25 καὶ ὑπέμειναν ἕως ᾐσχύνοντο καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ ἀνοίγων τὰς θύρας τοῦ ὑπερῴου καὶ ἔλαβον τὴν κλεῖδα καὶ ἤνοιξαν καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ κύριος αὐτῶν πεπτωκὼς ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τεθνηκώς (lxx) Jdg 3:25 Expectantesque diu donec erubescerent, et videntes quod nullus aperiret, tulerunt clavem: et aperientes invenerunt dominum suum in terra jacentem mortuum.~(vulgate) Judges 3:25 And they taryed till they were ashamed: & seeing he opened not the doores of the parler, they tooke the key, and opened them, & behold, their lord was fallen dead on the earth.(Geneva) Jdg 3:25 Da sie aber so lange harrten, bis sie sich schämten (denn niemand tat die Tür der Laube auf), nahmen sie den Schlüssel und schlossen auf; siehe, da lag ihr Herr auf der Erde tot.(dhs) Jdg 3:25 So they waited till they were embarrassed, and still he had not opened the doors of the upper room. And there was their master, fallen dead on the floor.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:26 ============ Jdg 3:26 Now Ehud escaped while they were delaying, and he passed by the idols and escaped to Seirah.(nas) Jdg 3:26 καὶ Αωδ διεσώθη ἕως ἐθορυβοῦντο καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ προσνοῶν αὐτῷ καὶ αὐτὸς παρῆλθεν τὰ γλυπτὰ καὶ διεσώθη εἰς Σετιρωθα (lxx) Jdg 3:26 Aod autem, dum illi turbarentur, effugit, et pertransiit locum idolorum, unde reversus fuerat. Venitque in Seirath:(vulgate) Judges 3:26 So Ehud escaped (while they taried) & was passed the quarris, and escaped vnto Seirah.(Geneva) Jdg 3:26 Ehud aber war entronnen, dieweil sie verzogen, und ging an den Götzen vorüber und entrann bis gen Seira.(dhs) Jdg 3:26 But Ehud had escaped while they delayed, and passed beyond the stone images and escaped to Seirah.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:27 ============ Jdg 3:27 It came about when he had arrived, that he blew the trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel went down with him from the hill country, and he was in front of them.(nas) Jdg 3:27 καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ἦλθεν Αωδ εἰς γῆν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐσάλπισεν ἐν κερατίνῃ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Εφραιμ καὶ κατέβησαν σὺν αὐτῷ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους καὶ αὐτὸς ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν (lxx) Jdg 3:27 et statim insonuit buccina in monte Ephraim, descenderuntque cum eo filii Israël, ipso in fronte gradiente.(vulgate) Judges 3:27 And when he came home, he blew a trumpet in mount Ephraim, and the children of Israel went downe with him from the mountaine, and he went before them.(Geneva) Jdg 3:27 Und da er hineinkam, blies er die Posaune auf dem Gebirge Ephraim. Und die Kinder Israel zogen mit ihm vom Gebirge und er vor ihnen her,(dhs) Jdg 3:27 And it happened, when he arrived, that he blew the trumpet in the mountains of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mountains; and he led them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:28 ============ Jdg 3:28 He said to them, "Pursue them, for the Lord has given your enemies the Moabites into your hands." So they went down after him and seized the fords of the Jordan opposite Moab, and did not allow anyone to cross.(nas) Jdg 3:28 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς κατάβητε ὀπίσω μου ὅτι παρέδωκεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ἡμῶν τὴν Μωαβ ἐν χειρὶ ἡμῶν καὶ κατέβησαν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ καὶ προκατελάβοντο τὰς διαβάσεις τοῦ Ιορδάνου τῆς Μωαβ καὶ οὐκ ἀφῆκεν ἄνδρα διαβῆναι (lxx) Jdg 3:28 Qui dixit ad eos: Sequimini me: tradidit enim Dominus inimicos nostros Moabitas in manus nostras. Descenderuntque post eum, et occupaverunt vada Jordanis quæ transmittunt in Moab: et non dimiserunt transire quemquam:(vulgate) Judges 3:28 Then said he vnto them, Follow me: for the Lorde hath deliuered your enemies, euen Moab into your hand. So they went downe after him, & tooke the passages of Iorden towarde Moab, and suffred not a man to passe ouer.(Geneva) Jdg 3:28 und sprach zu ihnen: Jagt mir nach; denn der HERR hat euch die Moabiter, eure Feinde, in eure Hände gegeben! Und sie jagten ihm nach und gewannen die Furten am Jordan, die gen Moab gehen, und ließen niemand hinüber(dhs) Jdg 3:28 Then he said to them, "Follow me, for the Lord has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand." So they went down after him, seized the fords of the Jordan leading to Moab, and did not allow anyone to cross over.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:29 ============ Jdg 3:29 They struck down at that time about ten thousand Moabites, all robust and valiant men; and no one escaped.(nas) Jdg 3:29 καὶ ἐπάταξαν τὴν Μωαβ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ὡσεὶ δέκα χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν πᾶν λιπαρὸν καὶ πάντα ἄνδρα δυνάμεως καὶ οὐ διεσώθη ἀνήρ (lxx) Jdg 3:29 sed percusserunt Moabitas in tempore illo, circiter decem millia, omnes robustos et fortes viros. Nullus eorum evadere potuit.(vulgate) Judges 3:29 And they slewe of the Moabites the same time about ten thousand men, all fed men, & all were warriours, and there escaped not a man.(Geneva) Jdg 3:29 und schlugen die Moabiter zu der Zeit, bei zehntausend Mann, allzumal die besten und streitbare Männer, daß nicht einer entrann.(dhs) Jdg 3:29 And at that time they killed about ten thousand men of Moab, all stout men of valor; not a man escaped.(nkjv) ======= Judges 3:30 ============ Jdg 3:30 So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land was undisturbed for eighty years. (nas) Jdg 3:30 καὶ ἐνετράπη Μωαβ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ὑπὸ χεῖρα Ισραηλ καὶ ἡσύχασεν ἡ γῆ ὀγδοήκοντα ἔτη καὶ ἔκρινεν αὐτοὺς Αωδ ἕως οὗ ἀπέθανεν (lxx) Jdg 3:30 Humiliatusque est Moab in die illo sub manu Israël: et quievit terra octoginta annis.~(vulgate) Judges 3:30 So Moab was subdued that daye, vnder the hand of Israel: and the land had rest fourescore yeeres.(Geneva) Jdg 3:30 Also wurden die Moabiter zu der Zeit unter die Hand der Kinder Israel gedämpft.
