How should we answer this people who have spoken to me, saying, 'Lighten the yoke which your father put on us'?"(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 12:10 ============ 1Ki 12:10 The young men who grew up with him spoke to him, saying, "Thus you shall say to this people who spoke to you, saying, 'Your father made our yoke heavy, now you make it lighter for us!' But you shall speak to them, 'My little finger is thicker than my father's loins!(nas) 1Ki 12:10 καὶ ἐλάλησαν πρὸς αὐτὸν τὰ παιδάρια τὰ ἐκτραφέντα μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ οἱ παρεστηκότες πρὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ λέγοντες τάδε λαλήσεις τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ τοῖς λαλήσασι πρὸς σὲ λέγοντες ὁ πατήρ σου ἐβάρυνεν τὸν κλοιὸν ἡμῶν καὶ σὺ νῦν κούφισον ἀφ᾽ ἡμῶν τάδε λαλήσεις πρὸς αὐτούς ἡ μικρότης μου παχυτέρα τῆς ὀσφύος τοῦ πατρός μου (lxx) 1Ki 12:10 Et dixerunt ei juvenes qui nutriti fuerant cum eo: Sic loqueris populo huic, qui locuti sunt ad te, dicentes: Pater tuus aggravavit jugum nostrum: tu releva nos. (nas) 1Ki 12:15 καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τοῦ λαοῦ ὅτι ἦν μεταστροφὴ παρὰ κυρίου ὅπως στήσῃ τὸ ῥῆμα αὐτοῦ ὃ ἐλάλησεν ἐν χειρὶ Αχια τοῦ Σηλωνίτου περὶ Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ (lxx) 1Ki 12:15 Et non acquievit rex populo: quoniam aversatus fuerat eum Dominus, ut suscitaret verbum suum quod locutus fuerat in manu Ahiæ Silonitæ, ad Jeroboam filium Nabat.~(vulgate) 1 Kings 12:15 And the King hearkened not vnto the people: for it was the ordinance of the Lorde, that he might perfourme his saying, which the Lorde had spoken by Ahiiah the Shilonite vnto Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat.(Geneva) 1Ki 12:15 Also gehorchte der König dem Volk nicht; denn es war also abgewandt von dem HERRN, auf daß er sein Wort bekräftigte, das er durch Ahia von Silo geredet hatte zu Jerobeam, dem Sohn Nebats.(dhs) 1Ki 12:15 So the king did not listen to the people; for the turn of events was from the Lord, that He might fulfill His word, which the Lord had spoken by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 12:16 ============ 1Ki 12:16 When all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying, "What portion do we have in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; To your tents, O Israel! Now look after your own house, David! "So Israel departed to their tents.(nas) 1Ki 12:16 καὶ εἶδον πᾶς Ισραηλ ὅτι οὐκ ἤκουσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς αὐτῶν καὶ ἀπεκρίθη ὁ λαὸς τῷ βασιλεῖ λέγων τίς ἡμῖν μερὶς ἐν Δαυιδ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἡμῖν κληρονομία ἐν υἱῷ Ιεσσαι ἀπότρεχε Ισραηλ εἰς τὰ σκηνώματά σου νῦν βόσκε τὸν οἶκόν σου Δαυιδ καὶ ἀπῆλθεν Ισραηλ εἰς τὰ σκηνώματα αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Ki 12:16 Videns itaque populus quod noluisset eos audire rex, respondit ei dicens: Quæ nobis pars in David? vel quæ hæreditas in filio Isai? vade in tabernacula tua, Israël: nunc vide domum tuam, David. Et abiit Israël in tabernacula sua.(vulgate) 1 Kings 12:16 So when all Israel sawe that the King regarded them not, the people answered the King thus, saying, What portion haue we in Dauid? we haue none inheritance in the sonne of Ishai. To your tents, O Israel: nowe see to thine owne house, Dauid. Israel, hebe dich zu deinen Hütten! So, siehe nun du zu deinem Hause, David!
