And Jehu wrote and sent letters to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to those who reared Ahab's sons, saying:(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:2 ============ 2Ki 10:2 "Now, when this letter comes to you, since your master's sons are with you, as well as the chariots and horses and a fortified city and the weapons,(nas) 2Ki 10:2 καὶ νῦν ὡς ἐὰν ἔλθῃ τὸ βιβλίον τοῦτο πρὸς ὑμᾶς μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ κυρίου ὑμῶν καὶ μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν τὸ ἅρμα καὶ οἱ ἵπποι καὶ πόλεις ὀχυραὶ καὶ τὰ ὅπλα (lxx) 2Ki 10:2 Statim ut acceperitis litteras has, qui habetis filios domini vestri, et currus, et equos, et civitates firmas, et arma,(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:2 Nowe when this letter commeth to you, (for ye haue with you your masters sonnes, yee haue with you both charets and horses, and a defenced citie, and armour)(Geneva) 2Ki 10:2 Wenn dieser Brief zu euch kommt, bei denen eures Herrn Söhne sind und Wagen, Rosse, feste Städte und Rüstung,(dhs) 2Ki 10:2 Now as soon as this letter comes to you, since your master's sons are with you, and you have chariots and horses, a fortified city also, and weapons,(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:3 ============ 2Ki 10:3 select the best and fittest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house."(nas) 2Ki 10:3 καὶ ὄψεσθε τὸν ἀγαθὸν καὶ τὸν εὐθῆ ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς τοῦ κυρίου ὑμῶν καὶ καταστήσετε αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν θρόνον τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ πολεμεῖτε ὑπὲρ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ κυρίου ὑμῶν (lxx) 2Ki 10:3 eligite meliorem, et eum qui vobis placuerit de filiis domini vestri, et eum ponite super solium patris sui, et pugnate pro domo domini vestri.(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:3 Consider therefore which of your masters sonnes is best and most meete, and set him on his fathers throne, and fight for your masters house.(Geneva) 2Ki 10:3 so sehet, welcher der Beste und geschickteste sei unter den Söhnen eures Herrn, und setzet ihn auf seines Vaters Stuhl und streitet für eures Herrn Haus.(dhs) 2Ki 10:3 choose the best qualified of your master's sons, set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:4 ============ 2Ki 10:4 But they feared greatly and said, "Behold, the two kings did not stand before him; how then can we stand?"(nas) 2Ki 10:4 καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν σφόδρα καὶ εἶπον ἰδοὺ οἱ δύο βασιλεῖς οὐκ ἔστησαν κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ πῶς στησόμεθα ἡμεῖς (lxx) 2Ki 10:4 Timuerunt illi vehementer, et dixerunt: Ecce duo reges non potuerunt stare coram eo, et quomodo nos valebimus resistere?(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:4 But they were exceedingly afraid, and saide, Behold two Kings coulde not stande before him, how shall we then stand?(Geneva) 2Ki 10:4 Sie aber fürchteten sich gar sehr und sprachen: Siehe, zwei Könige konnten ihm nicht widerstehen; wie wollen wir denn stehen?(dhs) 2Ki 10:4 But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, "Look, two kings could not stand up to him; how then can we stand?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:5 ============ 2Ki 10:5 And the one who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders, and the guardians of the children, sent word to Jehu, saying, "We are your servants, all that you say to us we will do, we will not make any man king; do what is good in your sight."(nas) 2Ki 10:5 καὶ ἀπέστειλαν οἱ ἐπὶ τοῦ οἴκου καὶ οἱ ἐπὶ τῆς πόλεως καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι καὶ οἱ τιθηνοὶ πρὸς Ιου λέγοντες παῖδές σου ἡμεῖς καὶ ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπῃς πρὸς ἡμᾶς ποιήσομεν οὐ βασιλεύσομεν ἄνδρα τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου ποιήσομεν (lxx) 2Ki 10:5 Miserunt ergo præpositi domus, et præfecti civitatis, et majores natu, et nutritii, ad Jehu, dicentes: Servi tui sumus: quæcumque jusseris faciemus, nec constituemus nobis regem: quæcumque tibi placent, fac.(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:5 And he that was gouernour of Ahabs house, and he that ruled the citie, and the Elders, & the bringers vp of the children sent to Iehu, saying, We are thy seruants, and will doe all that thou shalt bid vs: we will make no King: do what seemeth good to thee.(Geneva) 2Ki 10:5 Und die über das Haus und über die Stadt waren und die Ältesten und Vormünder sandten hin zu Jehu und ließen ihm sagen: Wir sind deine Knechte: wir wollen alles tun, was du uns sagst; wir wollen niemand zum König machen. Do what is good in your sight."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:6 ============ 2Ki 10:6 Then he wrote a letter to them a second time saying, "If you are on my side, and you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men, your master's sons, and come to me at Jezreel tomorrow about this time." Now the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who were rearing them.(nas) 2Ki 10:6 καὶ ἔγραψεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς βιβλίον δεύτερον λέγων εἰ ἐμοὶ ὑμεῖς καὶ τῆς φωνῆς μου ὑμεῖς εἰσακούετε λάβετε τὴν κεφαλὴν ἀνδρῶν τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ κυρίου ὑμῶν καὶ ἐνέγκατε πρός με ὡς ἡ ὥρα αὔριον εἰς Ιεζραελ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ βασιλέως ἦσαν ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρες οὗτοι ἁδροὶ τῆς πόλεως ἐξέτρεφον αὐτούς (lxx) 2Ki 10:6 Rescripsit autem eis litteras secundo, dicens: Si mei estis, et obeditis mihi, tollite capita filiorum domini vestri, et venite ad me hac eadem hora cras in Jezrahel. Porro filii regis, septuaginta viri, apud optimates civitates nutriebantur.(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:6 Then he wrote another letter to them, saying, If ye be mine, & wil obey my voyce, take the heads of ye men that are your masters sonnes, & come to me to Izreel by to morowe this time. (Der Söhne aber des Königs waren siebzig Mann, und die Größten der Stadt zogen sie auf.)(dhs) 2Ki 10:6 Then he wrote a second letter to them, saying: If you are for me and will obey my voice, take the heads of the men, your master's sons, and come to me at Jezreel by this time tomorrow. Now the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who were rearing them.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:7 ============ 2Ki 10:7 When the letter came to them, they took the king's sons and slaughtered them, seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him at Jezreel.(nas) 2Ki 10:7 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἦλθεν τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς αὐτούς καὶ ἔλαβον τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἔσφαξαν αὐτούς ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας καὶ ἔθηκαν τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν ἐν καρτάλλοις καὶ ἀπέστειλαν αὐτὰς πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰς Ιεζραελ (lxx) 2Ki 10:7 Cumque venissent litteras ad eos, tulerunt filios regis, et occiderunt septuaginta viros, et posuerunt capita eorum in cophinis, et miserunt ad eum in Jezrahel.(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:7 And when the letter came to them, they tooke the Kings sonnes, and slewe the seuentie persons, and layde their heads in baskets, and sent them vnto him to Izreel.(Geneva) 2Ki 10:7 Da nun der Brief zu ihnen kam, nahmen sie des Königs Söhne und schlachteten die siebzig Männer und legten ihre Häupter in Körbe und schickten sie zu ihm gen Jesreel.(dhs) 2Ki 10:7 So it was, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons and slaughtered seventy persons, put their heads in baskets and sent them to him at Jezreel.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:8 ============ 2Ki 10:8 When the messenger came and told him, saying, "They have brought the heads of the king's sons," he said, "Put them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until morning."(nas) 2Ki 10:8 καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ ἄγγελος καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν λέγων ἤνεγκαν τὰς κεφαλὰς τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ εἶπεν θέτε αὐτὰς βουνοὺς δύο παρὰ τὴν θύραν τῆς πύλης εἰς πρωί (lxx) 2Ki 10:8 Venit autem nuntius, et indicavit ei, dicens: Attulerunt capita filiorum regis. Qui respondit: Ponite ea ad duos acervos juxta introitum portæ usque mane.(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:8 Then there came a messenger and tolde him, saying, They haue brought the heads of the Kings sonnes; he sayd, Let them lay them on two heapes at the entring in of the gate vntil the morning.(Geneva) 2Ki 10:8 Und da der Bote kam und sagte es ihm an und sprach: Sie haben die Häupter der Königskinder gebracht, sprach er: Legt sie auf zwei Haufen vor die Tür am Tor bis morgen.(dhs) 2Ki 10:8 Then a messenger came and told him, saying, "They have brought the heads of the king's sons." And he said, "Lay them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until morning."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:9 ============ 2Ki 10:9 Now in the morning he went out and stood and said to all the people, "You are innocent; behold, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?(nas) 2Ki 10:9 καὶ ἐγένετο πρωὶ καὶ ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἔστη ἐν τῷ πυλῶνι τῆς πόλεως καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς πάντα τὸν λαόν δίκαιοι ὑμεῖς ἰδοὺ ἐγώ εἰμι συνεστράφην ἐπὶ τὸν κύριόν μου καὶ ἀπέκτεινα αὐτόν καὶ τίς ἐπάταξεν πάντας τούτους (lxx) 2Ki 10:9 Cumque diluxisset, egressus est, et stans dixit ad omnem populum: Justi estis: si ego conjuravi contra dominum meum et interfeci eum, quis percussit omnes hos?(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:9 And when it was day, he went out, & stood and sayd to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, & slew him: but who slew all these?(Geneva) 2Ki 10:9 Und des Morgens, da er ausging, trat er dahin und sprach zu allem Volk: Ihr seid ja gerecht. Siehe, habe ich wider meinen Herrn einen Bund gemacht und ihn erwürgt, wer hat denn diese alle geschlagen?(dhs) 2Ki 10:9 So it was, in the morning, that he went out and stood, and said to all the people, "You are righteous. On the way while he was at Beth-eked of the shepherds,(nas) 2Ki 10:12 καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς Σαμάρειαν αὐτὸς ἐν Βαιθακαδ τῶν ποιμένων ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ (lxx) 2Ki 10:12 Et surrexit, et venit in Samariam: cumque venisset ad Cameram pastorum in via,(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:12 And he arose, and departed and came to Samaria. And as Iehu was in the way by an house where the shepheards did shere,(Geneva) 2Ki 10:12 und machte sich auf, zog hin und kam gen Samaria. And they answered, "We are the relatives of Ahaziah; and we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother."(nas) 2Ki 10:13 καὶ Ιου εὗρεν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς Οχοζιου βασιλέως Ιουδα καὶ εἶπεν τίνες ὑμεῖς καὶ εἶπον οἱ ἀδελφοὶ Οχοζιου ἡμεῖς καὶ κατέβημεν εἰς εἰρήνην τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τῶν υἱῶν τῆς δυναστευούσης (lxx) 2Ki 10:13 invenit fratres Ochoziæ regis Juda: dixitque ad eos: Quinam estis vos? Qui responderunt: Fratres Ochoziæ sumus, et descendimus ad salutandos filios regis, et filios reginæ.(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:13 He met with the brethre of Ahaziah king of Iudah, and sayd, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah, and goe downe to salute the children of the King and the children of the Queene.(Geneva) 2Ki 10:13 Da traf Jehu an die Brüder Ahasjas, des Königs Juda's, und sprach: Wer seid ihr? So they took them alive and killed them at the pit of Beth-eked, forty-two men; and he left none of them.(nas) 2Ki 10:14 καὶ εἶπεν συλλάβετε αὐτοὺς ζῶντας καὶ συνέλαβον αὐτοὺς ζῶντας καὶ ἔσφαξαν αὐτοὺς εἰς Βαιθακαδ τεσσαράκοντα καὶ δύο ἄνδρας οὐ κατέλιπεν ἄνδρα ἐξ αὐτῶν (lxx) 2Ki 10:14 Qui ait: Comprehendite eos vivos. Quos cum comprehendissent vivos, jugulaverunt eos in cisterna juxta Cameram, quadraginta duos viros: et non reliquit ex eis quemquam.(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:14 And he sayde, Take them aliue; they tooke them aliue, & slew them at the well beside the house where the sheepe are shorne, euen two and fourtie men, and he left not one of them.(Geneva) 2Ki 10:14 Er aber sprach: Greifet sie lebendig! Und sie griffen sie lebendig und schlachteten sie bei dem Brunnen am Hirtenhaus, zweiundvierzig Mann, und ließen nicht einen von ihnen übrig.(dhs) 2Ki 10:14 And he said, "Take them alive!" So they took them alive, and killed them at the well of Beth Eked, forty-two men; and he left none of them.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:15 ============ 2Ki 10:15 Now when he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him, "Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?" And Jehonadab answered, "It is." Jehu said, "If it is, give me your hand." And he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot.(nas) 2Ki 10:15 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐκεῖθεν καὶ εὗρεν τὸν Ιωναδαβ υἱὸν Ρηχαβ ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτόν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ιου εἰ ἔστιν καρδία σου μετὰ καρδίας μου εὐθεῖα καθὼς ἡ καρδία μου μετὰ τῆς καρδίας σου καὶ εἶπεν Ιωναδαβ ἔστιν καὶ εἶπεν Ιου καὶ εἰ ἔστιν δὸς τὴν χεῖρά σου καὶ ἔδωκεν τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀνεβίβασεν αὐτὸν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ ἅρμα (lxx) 2Ki 10:15 Cumque abiisset inde, invenit Jonadab filium Rechab in occursum sibi, et benedixit ei. Et ait ad eum: Numquid est cor tuum rectum, sicut cor meum cum corde tuo? Et ait Jonadab: Est. Si est, inquit, da manum tuam. Qui dedit ei manum suam. At ille levavit eum ad se in currum:(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:15 And when he was departed thence, hee met with Iehonadab the sonne of Rechab coming to meete him, and he blessed him, and sayde to him, Is thine heart vpright, as mine heart is towarde thine? And Iehonadab answered, Yea, doubtlesse. Then giue me thine hande; when he had giuen him his hande, he tooke him vp to him into the charet.(Geneva) 2Ki 10:15 Und da er von dannen zog, fand er Jonadab, den Sohn Rechabs, der ihm begegnete. Und er grüßte ihn und sprach zu ihm: Ist dein Herz richtig wie mein Herz mit deinem Herzen? Jonadab sprach: Ja. Ist's also, so gib mir deine Hand! Und er gab ihm seine Hand! Und er ließ ihn zu sich auf den Wagen sitzen(dhs) 2Ki 10:15 Now when he departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab, coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him, "Is your heart right, as my heart is toward your heart?" And Jehonadab answered, "It is." Jehu said, "If it is, give me your hand." So he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:16 ============ 2Ki 10:16 He said, "Come with me and see my zeal for the Lord." So he made him ride in his chariot.(nas) 2Ki 10:16 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν δεῦρο μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ ἰδὲ ἐν τῷ ζηλῶσαί με τῷ κυρίῳ Σαβαωθ καὶ ἐπεκάθισεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ἅρματι αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ki 10:16 dixitque ad eum: Veni mecum, et vide zelum meum pro Domino. Et impositum in curru suo(vulgate) 2 Kings 10:16 And he sayde, Come with me, and see the zeale that I haue for the Lord: so they made him ride in his charet.(Geneva) 2Ki 10:16 und sprach: Komm mit mir und siehe meinen Eifer um den HERRN! Und sie führten ihn mit ihm auf seinem Wagen.(dhs) 2Ki 10:16 Then he said, "Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord."
