And Gehazi said, "My lord, O king, this is the woman and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life."(nas) 2Ki 8:5 καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτοῦ ἐξηγουμένου τῷ βασιλεῖ ὡς ἐζωπύρησεν υἱὸν τεθνηκότα καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ γυνή ἧς ἐζωπύρησεν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτῆς Ελισαιε βοῶσα πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα περὶ τοῦ οἴκου ἑαυτῆς καὶ περὶ τῶν ἀγρῶν ἑαυτῆς καὶ εἶπεν Γιεζι κύριε βασιλεῦ αὕτη ἡ γυνή καὶ οὗτος ὁ υἱὸς αὐτῆς ὃν ἐζωπύρησεν Ελισαιε (lxx) 2Ki 8:5 Cumque ille narraret regi quomodo mortuum suscitasset, apparuit mulier cujus vivificaverat filium, clamans ad regem pro domo sua, et pro agris suis. Dixitque Giezi: Domine mi rex, hæc est mulier, et hic est filius ejus quem suscitavit Eliseus.(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:5 And as he told the King, howe he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose sonne he had raised to life, called vpon the King for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi sayd, My lorde, O King, this is the woman, and this is her sonne, whom Elisha restored to life.(Geneva) 2Ki 8:5 Und indem er dem König erzählte, wie er hätte einen Toten lebendig gemacht, sieh, da kam eben das Weib, dessen Sohn er hatte lebendig gemacht, und rief den König an um ihr Haus und ihren Acker. Da sprach Gehasi: Mein Herr König, dies ist das Weib, und dies ist der Sohn, den Elisa hat lebendig gemacht.(dhs) 2Ki 8:5 Now it happened, as he was telling the king how he had restored the dead to life, that there was the woman whose son he had restored to life, appealing to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, "My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:6 ============ 2Ki 8:6 When the king asked the woman, she related it to him. So the king appointed for her a certain officer, saying, "Restore all that was hers and all the produce of the field from the day that she left the land even until now." (nas) 2Ki 8:6 καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τὴν γυναῖκα καὶ διηγήσατο αὐτῷ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῇ ὁ βασιλεὺς εὐνοῦχον ἕνα λέγων ἐπίστρεψον πάντα τὰ αὐτῆς καὶ πάντα τὰ γενήματα τοῦ ἀγροῦ αὐτῆς ἀπὸ τῆς ἡμέρας ἧς κατέλιπεν τὴν γῆν ἕως τοῦ νῦν (lxx) 2Ki 8:6 Et interrogavit rex mulierem: quæ narravit ei. Deditque ei rex eunuchum unum, dicens: Restitue ei omnia quæ sua sunt, et universos reditus agrorum, a die qua reliquit terram usque ad præsens.~(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:6 And when the King asked the woman, shee told him: so the King appoynted her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the fruites of her landes since the day shee left the land, euen vntill this time.(Geneva) 2Ki 8:6 Und der König fragte das Weib; und sie erzählte es ihm. Da gab ihr der König einen Kämmerer und sprach: Schaffe ihr wieder alles, was ihr gehört; dazu alles Einkommen des Ackers, seit der Zeit, daß sie das Land verlassen hat, bis hierher!(dhs) 2Ki 8:6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. Now Ben-hadad king of Aram was sick, and it was told him, saying, "The man of God has come here."(nas) 2Ki 8:7 καὶ ἦλθεν Ελισαιε εἰς Δαμασκόν καὶ υἱὸς Αδερ βασιλεὺς Συρίας ἠρρώστει καὶ ἀνήγγειλαν αὐτῷ λέγοντες ἥκει ὁ ἄνθρωπος τοῦ θεοῦ ἕως ὧδε (lxx) 2Ki 8:7 Venit quoque Eliseus Damascum, et Benadad rex Syriæ ægrotabat: nuntiaveruntque ei, dicentes: Venit vir Dei huc.(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:7 Then Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-hadad the King of Aram was sicke, and one told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.(Geneva) 2Ki 8:7 Und Elisa kam gen Damaskus. Da lag Benhadad, der König von Syrien, krank; und man sagte es ihm an und sprach: Der Mann Gottes ist hergekommen.(dhs) 2Ki 8:7 Then Elisha went to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, "The man of God has come here."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:8 ============ 2Ki 8:8 The king said to Hazael, "Take a gift in your hand and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying, 'Will I recover from this sickness?'"(nas) 2Ki 8:8 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Αζαηλ λαβὲ ἐν τῇ χειρί σου μαναα καὶ δεῦρο εἰς ἀπαντὴν τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐπιζήτησον τὸν κύριον παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ λέγων εἰ ζήσομαι ἐκ τῆς ἀρρωστίας μου ταύτης (lxx) 2Ki 8:8 Et ait rex ad Hazaël: Tolle tecum munera, et vade in occursum viri Dei, et consule Dominum per eum, dicens: Si evadere potero de infirmitate mea hac?(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:8 And the king sayd vnto Hazael, Take a present in thine hande, and goe meete the man of God, that thou mayest inquire of ye Lord by him, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?(Geneva) 2Ki 8:8 Da sprach der König zu Hasael: Nimm Geschenke zu dir und gehe dem Mann Gottes entgegen und frage den HERRN durch ihn und sprich, ob ich von dieser Krankheit möge genesen.(dhs) 2Ki 8:8 And the king said to Hazael, "Take a present in your hand, and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying, 'Shall I recover from this disease?' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:9 ============ 2Ki 8:9 So Hazael went to meet him and took a gift in his hand, even every kind of good thing of Damascus, forty camels' loads; and he came and stood before him and said, "Your son Ben-hadad king of Aram has sent me to you, saying, 'Will I recover from this sickness?'"(nas) 2Ki 8:9 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Αζαηλ εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔλαβεν μαναα ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ ἀγαθὰ Δαμασκοῦ ἄρσιν τεσσαράκοντα καμήλων καὶ ἦλθεν καὶ ἔστη ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς Ελισαιε ὁ υἱός σου υἱὸς Αδερ βασιλεὺς Συρίας ἀπέστειλέν με πρὸς σὲ λέγων εἰ ζήσομαι ἐκ τῆς ἀρρωστίας μου ταύτης (lxx) 2Ki 8:9 Ivit igitur Hazaël in occursum ejus, habens secum munera, et omnia bona Damasci, onera quadraginta camelorum. Cumque stetisset coram eo, ait: Filius tuus Benadad rex Syriæ misit me ad te, dicens: Si sanari potero de infirmitate mea hac?(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:9 So Hazael went to meete him, and tooke the present in his hand, and of euery good thing of Damascus, euen the burden of fourtie camels, and came and stood before him, and sayde, Thy sonne Ben-hadad King of Aram hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?(Geneva) 2Ki 8:9 Hasael ging ihm entgegen und nahm Geschenke mit sich und allerlei Güter zu Damaskus, eine Last für vierzig Kamele. Und da er kam, trat er vor ihn und sprach: Dein Sohn Benhadad, der König von Syrien, hat mich zu dir gesandt und läßt dir sagen: Kann ich auch von dieser Krankheit genesen?(dhs) 2Ki 8:9 So Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, of every good thing of Damascus, forty camel-loads; and he came and stood before him, and said, "Your son Ben-Hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, 'Shall I recover from this disease?' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:10 ============ 2Ki 8:10 Then Elisha said to him, "Go, say to him, 'You will surely recover,' but the Lord has shown me that he will certainly die."(nas) 2Ki 8:10 καὶ εἶπεν Ελισαιε δεῦρο εἰπὸν αὐτῷ ζωῇ ζήσῃ καὶ ἔδειξέν μοι κύριος ὅτι θανάτῳ ἀποθανῇ (lxx) 2Ki 8:10 Dixitque ei Eliseus: Vade, dic ei: Sanaberis: porro ostendit mihi Dominus quia morte morietur.(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:10 And Elisha sayd to him, Goe, and say vnto him, Thou shalt recouer: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me, that he shall surely dye.(Geneva) 2Ki 8:10 Elisa sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin und sage ihm: Du wirst genesen! However the Lord has shown me that he will really die."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:11 ============ 2Ki 8:11 He fixed his gaze steadily on him until he was ashamed, and the man of God wept.(nas) 2Ki 8:11 καὶ παρέστη τῷ προσώπῳ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθηκεν ἕως αἰσχύνης καὶ ἔκλαυσεν ὁ ἄνθρωπος τοῦ θεοῦ (lxx) 2Ki 8:11 Stetique cum eo, et conturbatus est usque ad suffusionem vultus: flevitque vir Dei.(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:11 And hee looked vpon him stedfastly, till Hazael was ashamed, and the man of God wept.(Geneva) 2Ki 8:11 Und der Mann Gottes schaute ihn starr und lange an und weinte.(dhs) 2Ki 8:11 Then he set his countenance in a stare until he was ashamed; and the man of God wept.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:12 ============ 2Ki 8:12 Hazael said, "Why does my lord weep?" Then he answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel: their strongholds you will set on fire, and their young men you will kill with the sword, and their little ones you will dash in pieces, and their women with child you will rip up."(nas) 2Ki 8:12 καὶ εἶπεν Αζαηλ τί ὅτι ὁ κύριός μου κλαίει καὶ εἶπεν ὅτι οἶδα ὅσα ποιήσεις τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ κακά τὰ ὀχυρώματα αὐτῶν ἐξαποστελεῖς ἐν πυρὶ καὶ τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς αὐτῶν ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ ἀποκτενεῖς καὶ τὰ νήπια αὐτῶν ἐνσείσεις καὶ τὰς ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσας αὐτῶν ἀναρρήξεις (lxx) 2Ki 8:12 Cui Hazaël ait: Quare dominus meus flet? At ille dixit: Quia scio quæ facturus sis filiis Israël mala. Civitates eorum munitas igne succendes, et juvenes eorum interficies gladio, et parvulos eorum elides, et prægnantes divides.(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:12 And Hazael sayde, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I knowe the euill that thou shalt do vnto the children of Israel: for their strong cities shalt thou set on fire, and their yong men shalt thou slay with the sworde, and shalt dash their infantes against the stones, and rent in pieces their women with child.(Geneva) 2Ki 8:12 Da sprach Hasael: Warum weint mein Herr? Er sprach: Ich weiß, was für Übel du den Kindern Israel tun wirst: du wirst ihre festen Städte mit Feuer verbrennen und ihre junge Mannschaft mit dem Schwert erwürgen und ihre jungen Kinder töten und ihre schwangeren Weiber zerhauen.(dhs) 2Ki 8:12 And Hazael said, "Why is my lord weeping?" And Elisha answered, "The Lord has shown me that you will be king over Aram."(nas) 2Ki 8:13 καὶ εἶπεν Αζαηλ τίς ἐστιν ὁ δοῦλός σου ὁ κύων ὁ τεθνηκώς ὅτι ποιήσει τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο καὶ εἶπεν Ελισαιε ἔδειξέν μοι κύριός σε βασιλεύοντα ἐπὶ Συρίαν (lxx) 2Ki 8:13 Dixitque Hazaël: Quid enim sum servus tuus canis, ut faciam rem istam magnam? Et ait Eliseus: Ostendit mihi Dominus te regem Syriæ fore.(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:13 Then Hazael said, What? is thy seruant a dog, that I should doe this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lorde hath shewed mee, that thou shalt be King of Aram.(Geneva) 2Ki 8:13 Hasael sprach: Was ist dein Knecht, der Hund, daß er solch großes Ding tun sollte? And Elisha answered, "The Lord has shown me that you will become king over Syria."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:14 ============ 2Ki 8:14 So he departed from Elisha and returned to his master, who said to him, "What did Elisha say to you?" And he answered, "He told me that you would surely recover."(nas) 2Ki 8:14 καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἀπὸ Ελισαιε καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς τὸν κύριον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ τί εἶπέν σοι Ελισαιε καὶ εἶπεν εἶπέν μοι ζωῇ ζήσῃ (lxx) 2Ki 8:14 Qui cum recessisset ab Eliseo, venit ad dominum suum. Qui ait ei: Quid dixit tibi Eliseus? At ille respondit: Dixit mihi: Recipies sanitatem.(vulgate) 2 Kings 8:14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What saide Elisha to thee? And he answered, Hee tolde mee that thou shouldest recouer.(Geneva) 2Ki 8:14 Und er ging weg von Elisa und kam zu seinem Herrn; der sprach zu ihm: Was sagte dir Elisa? Er sprach: Er sagte mir: Du wirst genesen.(dhs) 2Ki 8:14 Then he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, "What did Elisha say to you?" And he answered, "He told me you would surely recover."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:15 ============ 2Ki 8:15 On the following day, he took the cover and dipped it in water and spread it on his face, so that he died. And Hazael became king in his place.
