Today's Date: ======= 2 Kings 5:1 ============ 2Ki 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Aram, was a great man with his master, and highly respected, because by him the Lord had given victory to Aram. He departed and took with him ten talents of silver and six thousand shekels of gold and ten changes of clothes.(nas) 2Ki 5:5 καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς Συρίας πρὸς Ναιμαν δεῦρο εἴσελθε καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ βιβλίον πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔλαβεν ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα τάλαντα ἀργυρίου καὶ ἑξακισχιλίους χρυσοῦς καὶ δέκα ἀλλασσομένας στολάς (lxx) 2Ki 5:5 Dixitque ei rex Syriæ: Vade, et mittam litteras ad regem Israël. But consider now, and see how he is seeking a quarrel against me."(nas) 2Ki 5:7 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἀνέγνω βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τὸ βιβλίον διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν μὴ θεὸς ἐγὼ τοῦ θανατῶσαι καὶ ζωοποιῆσαι ὅτι οὗτος ἀποστέλλει πρός με ἀποσυνάξαι ἄνδρα ἀπὸ τῆς λέπρας αὐτοῦ ὅτι πλὴν γνῶτε δὴ καὶ ἴδετε ὅτι προφασίζεται οὗτός με (lxx) 2Ki 5:7 Cumque legisset rex Israël litteras, scidit vestimenta sua, et ait: Numquid deus ego sum, ut occidere possim et vivificare, quia iste misit ad me ut curem hominem a lepra sua? animadvertite, et videte quod occasiones quærat adversum me.(vulgate) 2 Kings 5:7 And when the King of Israel had read the letter, he rent his clothes, and sayde, Am I God, to kil and to giue life, that hee doth send to mee, that I should heale a man from his leprosie? wherfore consider, I pray you, and see howe he seeketh a quarel against me.(Geneva) 2Ki 5:7 Und da der König Israels den Brief las, zerriß er seine Kleider und sprach: Bin ich denn Gott, daß ich töten und lebendig machen könnte, daß er zu mir schickt, daß ich den Mann von seinem Aussatz losmache? Merkt und seht, wie sucht er Ursache wider mich!(dhs) 2Ki 5:7 And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said, "Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:8 ============ 2Ki 5:8 It happened when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent word to the king, saying, "Why have you torn your clothes? Now let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel."(nas) 2Ki 5:8 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν Ελισαιε ὅτι διέρρηξεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τὰ ἱμάτια ἑαυτοῦ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ λέγων ἵνα τί διέρρηξας τὰ ἱμάτιά σου ἐλθέτω δὴ πρός με Ναιμαν καὶ γνώτω ὅτι ἔστιν προφήτης ἐν Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Ki 5:8 Quod cum audisset Eliseus vir Dei, scidisse videlicet regem Israël vestimenta sua, misit ad eum, dicens: Quare scidisti vestimenta tua? veniat ad me, et sciat esse prophetam in Israël.(vulgate) 2 Kings 5:8 But when Elisha the man of God had heard that the King of Israel had rent his clothes, hee sent vnto the King, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:9 ============ 2Ki 5:9 So Naaman came with his horses and his chariots and stood at the doorway of the house of Elisha.(nas) 2Ki 5:9 καὶ ἦλθεν Ναιμαν ἐν ἵππῳ καὶ ἅρματι καὶ ἔστη ἐπὶ θύρας οἴκου Ελισαιε (lxx) 2Ki 5:9 Venit ergo Naaman cum equis et curribus, et stetit ad ostium domus Elisei:(vulgate) 2 Kings 5:9 Then Naaman came with his horses, and with his charets, and stoode at the doore of the house of Elisha.(Geneva) 2Ki 5:9 Also kam Naeman mit Rossen und Wagen und hielt vor der Tür am Hause Elisas.(dhs) 2Ki 5:9 Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha's house.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:10 ============ 2Ki 5:10 Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you and you will be clean."(nas) 2Ki 5:10 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ελισαιε ἄγγελον πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγων πορευθεὶς λοῦσαι ἑπτάκις ἐν τῷ Ιορδάνῃ καὶ ἐπιστρέψει ἡ σάρξ σού σοι καὶ καθαρισθήσῃ (lxx) 2Ki 5:10 misitque ad eum Eliseus nuntium, dicens: Vade, et lavare septies in Jordane, et recipiet sanitatem caro tua, atque mundaberis.(vulgate) 2 Kings 5:10 And Elisha sent a messenger vnto him, saying, Go and wash thee in Iorden seuen times, and thy flesh shall come againe to thee, and thou shalt be clensed.(Geneva) 2Ki 5:10 Da sandte Elisa einen Boten zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Gehe hin und wasche dich siebenmal im Jordan, so wird dir dein Fleisch wieder erstattet und rein werden.(dhs) 2Ki 5:10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:11 ============ 2Ki 5:11 But Naaman was furious and went away and said, "Behold, I thought, 'He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.'(nas) 2Ki 5:11 καὶ ἐθυμώθη Ναιμαν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ δὴ ἔλεγον ὅτι ἐξελεύσεται πρός με καὶ στήσεται καὶ ἐπικαλέσεται ἐν ὀνόματι θεοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπιθήσει τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον καὶ ἀποσυνάξει τὸ λεπρόν (lxx) 2Ki 5:11 Iratus Naaman recedebat, dicens: Putabam quod egrederetur ad me, et stans invocaret nomen Domini Dei sui, et tangeret manu sua locum lepræ, et curaret me.(vulgate) 2 Kings 5:11 But Naaman was wroth and went away, and sayde, Beholde, I thought with my selfe, Hee will surely come out, and stande, and call on the Name of the Lorde his God and put his hand on the place, and heale the leprosie.(Geneva) 2Ki 5:11 Da erzürnte Naeman und zog weg und sprach: Ich meinte, er sollte zu mir herauskommen und hertreten und den Namen der HERRN, seines Gottes, anrufen und mit seiner Hand über die Stätte fahren und den Aussatz also abtun.(dhs) 2Ki 5:11 But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, "Indeed, I said to myself, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.'(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:12 ============ 2Ki 5:12 Are not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?" So he turned and went away in a rage.(nas) 2Ki 5:12 οὐχὶ ἀγαθὸς Αβανα καὶ Φαρφαρ ποταμοὶ Δαμασκοῦ ὑπὲρ Ιορδάνην καὶ πάντα τὰ ὕδατα Ισραηλ οὐχὶ πορευθεὶς λούσομαι ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ καθαρισθήσομαι καὶ ἐξέκλινεν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἐν θυμῷ (lxx) 2Ki 5:12 Numquid non meliores sunt Abana et Pharphar fluvii Damasci, omnibus aquis Israël, ut laver in eis, et munder? How much more then, when he says to you, 'Wash, and be clean'?"(nas) 2Ki 5:13 καὶ ἤγγισαν οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλάλησαν πρὸς αὐτόν μέγαν λόγον ἐλάλησεν ὁ προφήτης πρὸς σέ οὐχὶ ποιήσεις καὶ ὅτι εἶπεν πρὸς σέ λοῦσαι καὶ καθαρίσθητι (lxx) 2Ki 5:13 accesserunt ad eum servi sui, et locuti sunt ei: Pater, etsi rem grandem dixisset tibi propheta, certe facere debueras: quanto magis quia nunc dixit tibi: Lavare, et mundaberis?(vulgate) 2 Kings 5:13 But his seruants came, and spake vnto him, and sayd, Father, if the Prophet had commaunded thee a great thing, wouldest thou not haue done it? howe much rather then, when hee sayth to thee, Wash and be cleane?(Geneva) 2Ki 5:13 Da machten sich seine Knechte zu ihm, redeten mit ihm und sprachen: Lieber Vater, wenn dich der Prophet etwas Großes hätte geheißen, solltest du es nicht tun? (nas) 2Ki 5:14 καὶ κατέβη Ναιμαν καὶ ἐβαπτίσατο ἐν τῷ Ιορδάνῃ ἑπτάκι κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα Ελισαιε καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ἡ σὰρξ αὐτοῦ ὡς σὰρξ παιδαρίου μικροῦ καὶ ἐκαθαρίσθη (lxx) 2Ki 5:14 Descendit, et lavit in Jordane septies juxta sermonem viri Dei: et restituta est caro ejus sicut caro pueri parvuli, et mundatus est.(vulgate) 2 Kings 5:14 Then went he downe, and washed him selfe seuen times in Iorden, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came againe, like vnto ye flesh of a litle child, & he was cleane.(Geneva) 2Ki 5:14 Da stieg er ab und taufte sich im Jordan siebenmal, wie der Mann Gottes geredet hatte; und sein Fleisch ward wieder erstattet wie das Fleisch eines jungen Knaben, und er ward rein.(dhs) 2Ki 5:14 So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:15 ============ 2Ki 5:15 When he returned to the man of God with all his company, and came and stood before him, he said, "Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel; so please take a present from your servant now."(nas) 2Ki 5:15 καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν πρὸς Ελισαιε αὐτὸς καὶ πᾶσα ἡ παρεμβολὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἦλθεν καὶ ἔστη καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ δὴ ἔγνωκα ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν θεὸς ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ ὅτι ἀλλ᾽ ἢ ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ νῦν λαβὲ τὴν εὐλογίαν παρὰ τοῦ δούλου σου (lxx) 2Ki 5:15 Reversusque ad virum Dei cum universo comitatu suo, venit, et stetit coram eo, et ait: Vere scio quod non sit alius deus in universa terra, nisi tantum in Israël. Obsecro itaque ut accipias benedictionem a servo tuo.(vulgate) 2 Kings 5:15 And hee turned againe to the man of God, hee, and all his companie, and came and stood before him, and sayd, Behold, now I knowe that there is no God in all the world, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a reward of thy seruant.(Geneva) 2Ki 5:15 Und er kehrte wieder zu dem Mann Gottes samt seinem ganzen Heer. Und da er hineinkam, trat er vor ihn und sprach: Siehe, ich weiß, daß kein Gott ist in allen Landen, außer in Israel; so nimm nun den Segen von deinem Knecht.(dhs) 2Ki 5:15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, "Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:16 ============ 2Ki 5:16 But he said, "As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will take nothing." And he urged him to take it, but he refused.(nas) 2Ki 5:16 καὶ εἶπεν Ελισαιε ζῇ κύριος ᾧ παρέστην ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ εἰ λήμψομαι καὶ παρεβιάσατο αὐτὸν λαβεῖν καὶ ἠπείθησεν (lxx) 2Ki 5:16 At ille respondit: Vivit Dominus, ante quem sto, quia non accipiam. Cumque vim faceret, penitus non acquievit.(vulgate) 2 Kings 5:16 But hee sayde, As the Lorde liueth (before whom I stand) I wil not receiue it; he would haue costrained him to receiue it, but he refused.(Geneva) 2Ki 5:16 Er aber sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt, vor dem ich stehe, ich nehme es nicht. Und er nötigte ihn, daß er's nähme; aber er wollte nicht.(dhs) 2Ki 5:16 But he said, "As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will receive nothing."
