And Elisha said, "Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me."(nas) 2Ki 2:9 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ διαβῆναι αὐτοὺς καὶ Ηλιου εἶπεν πρὸς Ελισαιε αἴτησαι τί ποιήσω σοι πρὶν ἢ ἀναλημφθῆναί με ἀπὸ σοῦ καὶ εἶπεν Ελισαιε γενηθήτω δὴ διπλᾶ ἐν πνεύματί σου ἐπ᾽ ἐμέ (lxx) 2Ki 2:9 Cumque transissent, Elias dixit ad Eliseum: Postula quod vis ut faciam tibi, antequam tollar a te. What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?" And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.(nas) 2Ki 2:11 καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτῶν πορευομένων ἐπορεύοντο καὶ ἐλάλουν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἅρμα πυρὸς καὶ ἵπποι πυρὸς καὶ διέστειλαν ἀνὰ μέσον ἀμφοτέρων καὶ ἀνελήμφθη Ηλιου ἐν συσσεισμῷ ὡς εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν (lxx) 2Ki 2:11 Cumque pergerent, et incedentes sermocinarentur, ecce currus igneus, et equi ignei diviserunt utrumque: et ascendit Elias per turbinem in cælum.(vulgate) 2 Kings 2:11 And as they went walking and talking, beholde, there appeared a charet of fire, and horses of fire, and did separate them twaine. And he saw Elijah no more. And when he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there; and Elisha crossed over. Et venientes in occursum ejus, adoraverunt eum proni in terram,(vulgate) 2 Kings 2:15 And when the children of the Prophets, which were at Iericho, saw him on the other side, they sayde, The Spirite of Eliiah doeth rest on Elisha: and they came to meete him, and fell to the grounde before him,(Geneva) 2Ki 2:15 Und da ihn sahen der Propheten Kinder, die gegenüber zu Jericho waren, sprachen sie: Der Geist Elia's ruht auf Elisa; und gingen ihm entgegen und fielen vor ihm nieder zur Erde(dhs) 2Ki 2:15 Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, "The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha." And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 2:16 ============ 2Ki 2:16 They said to him, "Behold now, there are with your servants fifty strong men, please let them go and search for your master; perhaps the Spirit of the Lord has taken him up and cast him on some mountain or into some valley." And he said, "You shall not send."(nas) 2Ki 2:16 καὶ εἶπον πρὸς αὐτόν ἰδοὺ δὴ μετὰ τῶν παίδων σου πεντήκοντα ἄνδρες υἱοὶ δυνάμεως πορευθέντες δὴ ζητησάτωσαν τὸν κύριόν σου μήποτε ἦρεν αὐτὸν πνεῦμα κυρίου καὶ ἔρριψεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ Ιορδάνῃ ἢ ἐφ᾽ ἓν τῶν ὀρέων ἢ ἐφ᾽ ἕνα τῶν βουνῶν καὶ εἶπεν Ελισαιε οὐκ ἀποστελεῖτε (lxx) 2Ki 2:16 dixeruntque illi: Ecce cum servis tuis sunt quinquaginta viri fortes qui possunt ire, et quærere dominum tuum, ne forte tulerit eum spiritus Domini, et projecerit eum in unum montium, aut in unam vallium. Qui ait: Nolite mittere.(vulgate) 2 Kings 2:16 And said vnto him, Beholde nowe, there be with thy seruants fiftie strong men: let them go, we pray thee, and seeke thy master, if so be the Spirite of the Lord hath taken him vp, and cast him vpon some mountaine, or into some valley. Er aber sprach: Laßt ihn gehen!(dhs) 2Ki 2:16 Then they said to him, "Look now, there are fifty strong men with your servants. Please let them go and search for your master, lest perhaps the Spirit of the Lord has taken him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley."
