Do not omit a word! (nas) Jer 26:2 τῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐπὶ δύναμιν Φαραω Νεχαω βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου ὃς ἦν ἐπὶ τῷ ποταμῷ Εὐφράτῃ ἐν Χαρχαμις ὃν ἐπάταξε Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ τετάρτῳ Ιωακιμ βασιλέως Ιουδα (lxx) Jer 26:2 Hæc dicit Dominus: Sta in atrio domus Domini, et loqueris ad omnes civitates Juda, de quibus veniunt ut adorent in domo Domini universos sermones quos ego mandavi tibi ut loquaris ad eos: noli subtrahere verbum,(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:2 Thus saith the Lorde, Sande in the court of the Lordes House, & speake vnto all the cities of Iudah, which come to worshippe in the Lords House, all the wordes that I commaunde thee to speake vnto them: keepe not a worde backe,(Geneva) Jer 26:2 So spricht der HERR: Tritt in den Vorhof am Hause des HERRN und predige allen Städten Juda's, die da hereingehen, anzubeten im Hause des HERRN, alle Worte, die ich dir befohlen habe ihnen zu sagen, und tue nichts davon;(dhs) Jer 26:2 "Thus says the Lord: 'Stand in the court of the Lord's house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the Lord's house, all the words that I command you to speak to them. Do not diminish a word.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:3 ============ Jer 26:3 Perhaps they will listen and everyone will turn from his evil way, that I may repent of the calamity which I am planning to do to them because of the evil of their deeds.'(nas) Jer 26:3 ἀναλάβετε ὅπλα καὶ ἀσπίδας καὶ προσαγάγετε εἰς πόλεμον (lxx) Jer 26:3 si forte audiant, et convertantur unusquisque a via sua mala, et pœniteat me mali quod cogito facere eis propter malitiam studiorum eorum.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:3 If so be they will hearken, and turne euery man from his euill way, that I may repent me of the plague, which I haue determined to bring vpon them, because of the wickednesse of their workes.(Geneva) Jer 26:3 ob sie vielleicht hören wollen und sich bekehren, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen, damit mich auch reuen möchte das Übel, das ich gedenke ihnen zu tun um ihres bösen Wandels willen.(dhs) Jer 26:3 Perhaps everyone will listen and turn from his evil way, that I may relent concerning the calamity which I purpose to bring on them because of the evil of their doings.'(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:4 ============ Jer 26:4 And you will say to them, 'Thus says the Lord, "If you will not listen to Me, to walk in My law which I have set before you, (nas) Jer 26:4 ἐπισάξατε τοὺς ἵππους ἐπίβητε οἱ ἱππεῖς καὶ κατάστητε ἐν ταῖς περικεφαλαίαις ὑμῶν προβάλετε τὰ δόρατα καὶ ἐνδύσασθε τοὺς θώρακας ὑμῶν (lxx) Jer 26:4 Et dices ad eos: Hæc dicit Dominus: Si non audieritis me, ut ambuletis in lege mea quam dedi vobis,(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:4 And thou shalt say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, If ye will not heare me to walke in my Lawes, which I haue set before you,(Geneva) Jer 26:4 Und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR: Werdet ihr mir nicht gehorchen, daß ihr nach meinem Gesetz wandelt, das ich euch vorgelegt habe,(dhs) Jer 26:4 And you shall say to them, 'Thus says the Lord: "If you will not listen to Me, to walk in My law which I have set before you,(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:5 ============ Jer 26:5 to listen to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I have been sending to you again and again, but you have not listened; (nas) Jer 26:5 τί ὅτι αὐτοὶ πτοοῦνται καὶ ἀποχωροῦσιν ὀπίσω διότι οἱ ἰσχυροὶ αὐτῶν κοπήσονται φυγῇ ἔφυγον καὶ οὐκ ἀνέστρεψαν περιεχόμενοι κυκλόθεν λέγει κύριος (lxx) Jer 26:5 ut audiatis sermones servorum meorum prophetarum quos ego misi ad vos, de nocte consurgens, et dirigens, et non audistis:(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:5 And to heare ye wordes of my seruants the Prophets, whome I sent vnto you, both rising vp earely, and sending them, and will not obey them,(Geneva) Jer 26:5 daß ihr hört auf die Worte meiner Knechte, der Propheten, welche ich stets zu euch gesandt habe, und ihr doch nicht hören wolltet:(dhs) Jer 26:5 to heed the words of My servants the prophets whom I sent to you, both rising up early and sending them (but you have not heeded),(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:6 ============ Jer 26:6 then I will make this house like Shiloh, and this city I will make a curse to all the nations of the earth."'" (nas) Jer 26:6 μὴ φευγέτω ὁ κοῦφος καὶ μὴ ἀνασῳζέσθω ὁ ἰσχυρός ἐπὶ βορρᾶν τὰ παρὰ τὸν Εὐφράτην ἠσθένησαν πεπτώκασιν (lxx) Jer 26:6 dabo domum istam sicut Silo, et urbem hanc dabo in maledictionem cunctis gentibus terræ.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:6 Then will I make this House like Shiloh, and will make this citie a curse to all the nations of the earth.(Geneva) Jer 26:6 so will ich's mit diesem Hause machen wie mit Silo und diese Stadt zum Fluch allen Heiden auf Erden machen.(dhs) Jer 26:6 then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth." (nas) Jer 26:7 τίς οὗτος ὡς ποταμὸς ἀναβήσεται καὶ ὡς ποταμοὶ κυμαίνουσιν ὕδωρ (lxx) Jer 26:7 Et audierunt sacerdotes, et prophetæ, et omnis populus, Jeremiam loquentem verba hæc in domo Domini.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:7 So the Priestes, and the Prophets, and all the people heard Ieremiah speaking these wordes in the House of the Lorde.(Geneva) Jer 26:7 Da nun die Priester, Propheten und alles Volk hörten Jeremia, daß er solche Worte redete im Hause des HERRN,(dhs) Jer 26:7 So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:8 ============ Jer 26:8 When Jeremiah finished speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, "You must die! (nas) Jer 26:8 ὕδατα Αἰγύπτου ὡσεὶ ποταμὸς ἀναβήσεται καὶ εἶπεν ἀναβήσομαι καὶ κατακαλύψω γῆν καὶ ἀπολῶ κατοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ (lxx) Jer 26:8 Cumque complesset Jeremias, loquens omnia quæ præceperat ei Dominus ut loqueretur ad universum populum, apprehenderunt eum sacerdotes, et prophetæ, et omnis populus, dicens: Morte moriatur.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:8 Nowe when Ieremiah had made an end of speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speake vnto all the people, then the Priestes, and the prophets, and all the people tooke him, and saide, Thou shalt die the death.(Geneva) Jer 26:8 und Jeremia nun ausgeredet hatte alles, was ihm der HERR befohlen hatte, allem Volk zu sagen, griffen ihn die Priester, Propheten und das ganze Volk und sprachen: Du mußt sterben!(dhs) Jer 26:8 Now it happened, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, "You will surely die!(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:9 ============ Jer 26:9 Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord saying, 'This house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate, without inhabitant'?" And all the people gathered about Jeremiah in the house of the Lord. (nas) Jer 26:9 ἐπίβητε ἐπὶ τοὺς ἵππους παρασκευάσατε τὰ ἅρματα ἐξέλθατε οἱ μαχηταὶ Αἰθιόπων καὶ Λίβυες καθωπλισμένοι ὅπλοις καὶ Λυδοί ἀνάβητε ἐντείνατε τόξον (lxx) Jer 26:9 Quare prophetavit in nomine Domini, dicens: Sicut Silo erit domus hæc, et urbs ista desolabitur eo quod non sit habitator? Et congregatus est omnis populus adversus Jeremiam in domo Domini.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:9 Why hast thou prophecied in the Name of the Lorde, saying, This House shall be like Shiloh, & this citie shalbe desolate wtout an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Ieremiah in the House of the Lord.(Geneva) Jer 26:9 Warum weissagst du im Namen des HERRN und sagst: Es wird diesem Hause gehen wie Silo, daß niemand mehr darin wohne? Und das ganze Volk sammelte sich im Hause des HERRN wider Jeremia.(dhs) Jer 26:9 Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, 'This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without an inhabitant'?" And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:10 ============ Jer 26:10 When the officials of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king's house to the house of the Lord and sat in the entrance of the New Gate of the Lord's house. (nas) Jer 26:10 καὶ ἡ ἡμέρα ἐκείνη κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ ἡμῶν ἡμέρα ἐκδικήσεως τοῦ ἐκδικῆσαι τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ καταφάγεται ἡ μάχαιρα κυρίου καὶ ἐμπλησθήσεται καὶ μεθυσθήσεται ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῶν ὅτι θυσία τῷ κυρίῳ σαβαωθ ἀπὸ γῆς βορρᾶ ἐπὶ ποταμῷ Εὐφράτῃ (lxx) Jer 26:10 Et audierunt principes Juda verba hæc, et ascenderunt de domo regis in domum Domini, et sederunt in introitu portæ domus Domini novæ.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:10 And when the princes of Iudah heard of these things, they came vp from the Kings house into the House of the Lorde, and sate downe in the entrie of the new gate of the Lords House.(Geneva) Jer 26:10 Da solches hörten die Fürsten Juda's gingen sie aus des Königs Hause hinauf ins Haus des HERRN und setzten sich vor das neue Tor des HERRN.(dhs) Jer 26:10 When the princes of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king's house to the house of the Lord and sat down in the entry of the New Gate of the Lord's house.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:11 ============ Jer 26:11 Then the priests and the prophets spoke to the officials and to all the people, saying, "A death sentence for this man! For he has prophesied against this city as you have heard in your hearing."(nas) Jer 26:11 ἀνάβηθι Γαλααδ καὶ λαβὲ ῥητίνην τῇ παρθένῳ θυγατρὶ Αἰγύπτου εἰς κενὸν ἐπλήθυνας ἰάματά σου ὠφέλεια οὐκ ἔστιν σοί (lxx) Jer 26:11 Et locuti sunt sacerdotes et prophetæ ad principes, et ad omnem populum, dicentes: Judicium mortis est viro huic, quia prophetavit adversus civitatem istam, sicut audistis auribus vestris.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:11 Then spake the Priestes, and the prophets vnto the princes, and to all the people, saying, This man is worthie to die: for he hath prophecied against this citie, as ye haue heard with your eares.(Geneva) Jer 26:11 Und die Priester und Propheten sprachen vor den Fürsten und allem Volk: Dieser ist des Todes schuldig; denn er hat geweissagt wider diese Stadt, wie ihr mit euren Ohren gehört habt.(dhs) Jer 26:11 And the priests and the prophets spoke to the princes and all the people, saying, "This man deserves to die! For he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:12 ============ Jer 26:12 Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and to all the people, saying, "The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard. (nas) Jer 26:12 ἤκουσαν ἔθνη φωνήν σου καὶ τῆς κραυγῆς σου ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ ὅτι μαχητὴς πρὸς μαχητὴν ἠσθένησεν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἔπεσαν ἀμφότεροι (lxx) Jer 26:12 Et ait Jeremias ad omnes principes, et ad universum populum, dicens: Dominus misit me ut prophetarem ad domum istam, et ad civitatem hanc, omnia verba quæ audistis.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:12 Then spake Ieremiah vnto all the princes, and to al the people, saying, The Lord hath sent me to prophecie against this house and against this citie all the things that ye haue heard.(Geneva) Jer 26:12 Aber Jeremia sprach zu allen Fürsten und zu allem Volk: Der HERR hat mich gesandt, daß ich solches alles, was ihr gehört habt, sollte weissagen wider dies Haus und wider diese Stadt.(dhs) Jer 26:12 Then Jeremiah spoke to all the princes and all the people, saying: "The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city with all the words that you have heard.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:13 ============ Jer 26:13 Now therefore amend your ways and your deeds and obey the voice of the Lord your God; and the Lord will change His mind about the misfortune which He has pronounced against you. (nas) Jer 26:13 ἃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐν χειρὶ Ιερεμιου τοῦ ἐλθεῖν Ναβουχοδονοσορ τὸν βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος τοῦ κόψαι τὴν γῆν Αἰγύπτου (lxx) Jer 26:13 Nunc ergo bonas facite vias vestras et studia vestra, et audite vocem Domini Dei vestri, et pœnitebit Dominum mali quod locutus est adversum vos.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:13 Therefore nowe amende your wayes and your workes, and heare the voyce of the Lorde your God, that the Lorde may repent him of the plague, that he hath pronounced against you.(Geneva) Jer 26:13 So bessert nun euer Wesen und Wandel und gehorcht der Stimme des HERRN, eures Gottes, so wird den HERRN auch gereuen das Übel, das er wider euch geredet hat.(dhs) Jer 26:13 Now therefore, amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the Lord your God; then the Lord will relent concerning the doom that He has pronounced against you.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:14 ============ Jer 26:14 But as for me, behold, I am in your hands; do with me as is good and right in your sight. (nas) Jer 26:14 ἀναγγείλατε εἰς Μάγδωλον καὶ παραγγείλατε εἰς Μέμφιν εἴπατε ἐπίστηθι καὶ ἑτοίμασον ὅτι κατέφαγεν μάχαιρα τὴν σμίλακά σου (lxx) Jer 26:14 Ego autem ecce in manibus vestris sum: facite mihi quod bonum et rectum est in oculis vestris.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:14 As for me, beholde, I am in your hands: do with me as ye thinke good and right.(Geneva) Jer 26:14 Siehe, ich bin in euren Händen; ihr mögt es machen mit mir, wie es euch recht und gut dünkt.(dhs) Jer 26:14 As for me, here I am, in your hand; do with me as seems good and proper to you.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:15 ============ Jer 26:15 Only know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city and on its inhabitants; for truly the Lord has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing." (nas) Jer 26:15 διὰ τί ἔφυγεν ὁ Ἆπις ὁ μόσχος ὁ ἐκλεκτός σου οὐκ ἔμεινεν ὅτι κύριος παρέλυσεν αὐτόν (lxx) Jer 26:15 Verumtamen scitote et cognoscite quod, si occideritis me, sanguinem innocentem tradetis contra vosmetipsos, et contra civitatem istam, et habitatores ejus: in veritate enim misit me Dominus ad vos, ut loquerer in auribus vestris omnia verba hæc.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:15 But knowe ye for certaine, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood vpon your selues, and vpon this citie, and vpon the inhabitants thereof: for of a trueth the Lord hath sent me vnto you, to speake all these words in your eares.(Geneva) Jer 26:15 Doch sollt ihr wissen: wo ihr mich tötet, so werdet ihr unschuldig Blut laden auf euch selbst, auf diese Stadt und ihre Einwohner. For he has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God."(nas) Jer 26:16 καὶ τὸ πλῆθός σου ἠσθένησεν καὶ ἔπεσεν καὶ ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἐλάλει ἀναστῶμεν καὶ ἀναστρέψωμεν πρὸς τὸν λαὸν ἡμῶν εἰς τὴν πατρίδα ἡμῶν ἀπὸ προσώπου μαχαίρας Ἑλληνικῆς (lxx) Jer 26:16 Et dixerunt principes et omnis populus ad sacerdotes et ad prophetas: Non est viro huic judicium mortis, quia in nomine Domini Dei nostri locutus est ad nos.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:16 Then saide the princes and all the people vnto the Priestes, and to the prophets, This man is not worthie to die: for he hath spoken vnto vs in the Name of the Lorde our God.(Geneva) Jer 26:16 Da sprachen die Fürsten und das ganze Volk zu den Priestern und Propheten: Dieser ist des Todes nicht schuldig; denn er hat zu uns geredet im Namen des HERRN, unsers Gottes.(dhs) Jer 26:16 So the princes and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, "This man does not deserve to die. For he has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:17 ============ Jer 26:17 Then some of the elders of the land rose up and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying, (nas) Jer 26:17 καλέσατε τὸ ὄνομα Φαραω Νεχαω βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου Σαων-εσβι-εμωηδ (lxx) Jer 26:17 Surrexerunt ergo viri de senioribus terræ, et dixerunt ad omnem cœtum populi, loquentes:(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:17 Then rose vp certaine of the Elders of the lande, and spake to all the assemblie of the people, saying,(Geneva) Jer 26:17 Und es standen etliche der Ältesten im Lande und sprachen zum ganzen Haufen des Volks:(dhs) Jer 26:17 Then certain of the elders of the land rose up and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying:(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:18 ============ Jer 26:18 "Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, 'Thus the Lord of hosts has said, "Zion will be plowed as a field, And Jerusalem will become ruins, And the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest."'(nas) Jer 26:18 ζῶ ἐγώ λέγει κύριος ὁ θεός ὅτι ὡς τὸ Ἰταβύριον ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν καὶ ὡς ὁ Κάρμηλος ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ ἥξει (lxx) Jer 26:18 Michæas de Morasthi fuit propheta in diebus Ezechiæ regis Juda, et ait ad omnem populum Juda, dicens: [Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum: Sion quasi ager arabitur, et Jerusalem in acervum lapidum erit, et mons domus in excelsa silvarum.](vulgate) Jeremiah 26:18 Michah the Morashite prophecied in the dayes of Hezekiah king of Iudah, and spake to al the people of Iudah, saying, Thus saith the Lorde of hostes, Zion shall be plowed like a fielde, and Ierusalem shalbe an heape, and the mountaine of the House shalbe as the hie places of the forest.(Geneva) Jer 26:18 Zur Zeit Hiskias, des Königs in Juda, war ein Prophet, Micha von Moreseth, und sprach zum ganzen Volk Juda: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Zion wird wie ein Acker gepflügt werden, und Jerusalem wird zum Steinhaufen werden und der Berg des Tempels zu einer wilden Höhe.(dhs) Jer 26:18 "Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, 'Thus says the Lord of hosts: "Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, And the mountain of the temple Like the bare hills of the forest." '(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:19 ============ Jer 26:19 Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Did he not fear the Lord and entreat the favor of the Lord, and the Lord changed His mind about the misfortune which He had pronounced against them? But we are committing a great evil against ourselves."(nas) Jer 26:19 σκεύη ἀποικισμοῦ ποίησον σεαυτῇ κατοικοῦσα θύγατερ Αἰγύπτου ὅτι Μέμφις εἰς ἀφανισμὸν ἔσται καὶ κληθήσεται οὐαὶ διὰ τὸ μὴ ὑπάρχειν κατοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ (lxx) Jer 26:19 Numquid morte condemnavit eum Ezechias rex Juda, et omnis Juda? numquid non timuerunt Dominum, et deprecati sunt faciem Domini, et pœnituit Dominum mali quod locutus fuerat adversum eos? Itaque nos facimus malum grande contra animas nostras.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:19 Did Hezekiah King of Iudah, and all Iudah put him to death? did he not feare ye Lorde, and prayed before the Lord, and the Lord repented him of the plague, that he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great euill against our soules.(Geneva) Jer 26:19 Doch ließ ihn Hiskia, der König Juda's und das ganze Juda darum nicht töten; ja sie fürchteten vielmehr den HERRN und beteten vor dem HERRN. Da reute auch den HERRN das Übel, das er wider sie geredet hatte. Darum täten wir sehr übel wider unsre Seelen.(dhs) Jer 26:19 Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah ever put him to death? Did he not fear the Lord and seek the Lord's favor? And the Lord relented concerning the doom which He had pronounced against them. (nas) Jer 26:21 καὶ οἱ μισθωτοὶ αὐτῆς ἐν αὐτῇ ὥσπερ μόσχοι σιτευτοὶ τρεφόμενοι ἐν αὐτῇ διότι καὶ αὐτοὶ ἀπεστράφησαν καὶ ἔφυγον ὁμοθυμαδόν οὐκ ἔστησαν ὅτι ἡμέρα ἀπωλείας ἦλθεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς καὶ καιρὸς ἐκδικήσεως αὐτῶν (lxx) Jer 26:21 Et audivit rex Joakim, et omnes potentes et principes ejus, verba hæc, et quæsivit rex interficere eum: et audivit Urias, et timuit, fugitque, et ingressus est Ægyptum.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:21 Nowe when Iehoiakim the King with all his men of power, and all the princes heard his wordes, the King sought to slay him. (nas) Jer 26:22 φωνὴ ὡς ὄφεως συρίζοντος ὅτι ἐν ἄμμῳ πορεύσονται ἐν ἀξίναις ἥξουσιν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν ὡς κόπτοντες ξύλα (lxx) Jer 26:22 Et misit rex Joakim viros in Ægyptum, Elnathan filium Achobor, et viros cum eo, in Ægyptum,(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:22 Then Iehoiakim the King sent men into Egypt, euen Elnathan the sonne of Achbor, and certaine with him into Egypt.(Geneva) Jer 26:22 Aber der König Jojakim schickte Leute nach Ägypten, Elnathan, den Sohn Achbors, und andere mit ihm;(dhs) Jer 26:22 Then Jehoiakim the king sent men to Egypt: Elnathan the son of Achbor, and other men who went with him to Egypt.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:23 ============ Jer 26:23 And they brought Uriah from Egypt and led him to King Jehoiakim, who slew him with a sword and cast his dead body into the burial place of the common people. (nas) Jer 26:23 ἐκκόψουσιν τὸν δρυμὸν αὐτῆς λέγει κύριος ὁ θεός ὅτι οὐ μὴ εἰκασθῇ ὅτι πληθύνει ὑπὲρ ἀκρίδα καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτοῖς ἀριθμός (lxx) Jer 26:23 et eduxerunt Uriam de Ægypto, et adduxerunt eum ad regem Joakim, et percussit eum gladio, et projecit cadaver ejus in sepulchris vulgi ignobilis.(vulgate) Jeremiah 26:23 And they fet Vriiah out of Egypt, and brought him vnto Iehoiakim the King, who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead bodie into the graues of the children of the people.(Geneva) Jer 26:23 die führten ihn aus Ägypten und brachten ihn zum König Jojakim; der ließ ihn mit dem Schwert töten und ließ seinen Leichnam unter dem gemeinen Pöbel begraben.(dhs) Jer 26:23 And they brought Urijah from Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 26:24 ============ Jer 26:24 But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, so that he was not given into the hands of the people to put him to death.
