I cry out to You, "Violence!" Yet You do not save. (nasb) Hab 1:2 O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!(kjv) Hab 1:2 O Lord, how long shall I cry, And You will not hear? Even cry out to You, "Violence!" And You will not save.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 1:3 ============ Hab 1:3 Why do You make me see iniquity, And cause me to look on wickedness? Yes, destruction and violence are before me; Strife exists and contention arises. For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore justice comes out perverted. Because I am doing something in your days-- You would not believe if you were told. For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 1:6 ============ Hab 1:6 "For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, That fierce and impetuous people Who march throughout the earth To seize dwelling places which are not theirs. (nasb) Hab 1:6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their's.(kjv) Hab 1:6 For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, A bitter and hasty nation Which marches through the breadth of the earth, To possess dwelling places that are not theirs.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 1:7 ============ Hab 1:7 "They are dreaded and feared; Their justice and authority originate with themselves. Their horsemen come galloping, Their horsemen come from afar; They fly like an eagle swooping down to devour. (nasb) Hab 1:8 Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.(kjv) Hab 1:8 Their horses also are swifter than leopards, And more fierce than evening wolves. Their horde of faces moves forward. They collect captives like sand. They laugh at every fortress And heap up rubble to capture it. (nasb) Hab 1:10 And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.(kjv) Hab 1:10 They scoff at kings, And princes are scorned by them. They deride every stronghold, For they heap up earthen mounds and seize it.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 1:11 ============ Hab 1:11 "Then they will sweep through like the wind and pass on. But they will be held guilty, They whose strength is their god."(nasb) Hab 1:11 Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.(kjv) Hab 1:11 Then his mind changes, and he transgresses; He commits offense, Ascribing this power to his god."(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 1:12 ============ Hab 1:12 Are You not from everlasting, O Lord, my God, my Holy One? We will not die. You, O Lord, have appointed them to judge; And You, O Rock, have established them to correct. (nasb) Hab 1:12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.(kjv) Hab 1:12 Are You not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 1:13 ============ Hab 1:13 Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, And You can not look on wickedness with favor. Why do You look with favor On those who deal treacherously? Why are You silent when the wicked swallow up Those more righteous than they? (nasb) Hab 1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?(kjv) Hab 1:13 You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, And cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A person more righteous than he?(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 1:14 ============ Hab 1:14 Why have You made men like the fish of the sea, Like creeping things without a ruler over them? Therefore they rejoice and are glad.
