(nasb) Hab 2:5 Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:(kjv) Hab 2:5 "Indeed, because he transgresses by wine, He is a proud man, And he does not stay at home. Because he enlarges his desire as hell, And he is like death, and cannot be satisfied, He gathers to himself all nations And heaps up for himself all peoples.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 2:6 ============ Hab 2:6 "Will not all of these take up a taunt-song against him, Even mockery and insinuations against him And say, 'Woe to him who increases what is not his-- For how long-- And makes himself rich with loans?'(nasb) Hab 2:6 Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!(kjv) Hab 2:6 "Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, 'Woe to him who increases What is not his--how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges'?(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 2:7 ============ Hab 2:7 "Will not your creditors rise up suddenly, And those who collect from you awaken? Indeed, you will become plunder for them. (nasb) Hab 2:7 Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?(kjv) Hab 2:7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly? Will they not awaken who oppress you? And you will become their booty.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 2:8 ============ Hab 2:8 "Because you have looted many nations, All the remainder of the peoples will loot you-- Because of human bloodshed and violence done to the land, To the town and all its inhabitants. (nasb) Hab 2:8 Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.(kjv) Hab 2:8 Because you have plundered many nations, All the remnant of the people shall plunder you, Because of men's blood And the violence of the land and the city, And of all who dwell in it.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 2:9 ============ Hab 2:9 "Woe to him who gets evil gain for his house To put his nest on high, To be delivered from the hand of calamity! (nasb) Hab 2:15 Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!(kjv) Hab 2:15 "Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbor, Pressing him to your bottle, Even to make him drunk, That you may look on his nakedness!(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 2:16 ============ Hab 2:16 "You will be filled with disgrace rather than honor. Now you yourself drink and expose your own nakedness. The cup in the Lord's right hand will come around to you, And utter disgrace will come upon your glory. (nasb) Hab 2:16 Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD's right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.(kjv) Hab 2:16 You are filled with shame instead of glory. You also--drink! And be exposed as uncircumcised! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.(kjv) Hab 2:19 Woe to him who says to wood, 'Awake!' To silent stone, 'Arise! It shall teach!'
