(nasb) Zep 1:2 I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.(kjv) Zep 1:2 "I will utterly consume everything From the face of the land," Says the Lord;(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:3 ============ Zep 1:3 "I will remove man and beast; I will remove the birds of the sky And the fish of the sea, And the ruins along with the wicked; And I will cut off man from the face of the earth," declares the Lord. (nasb) Zep 1:3 I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.(kjv) Zep 1:3 "I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, The fish of the sea, And the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. And I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, And the names of the idolatrous priests along with the priests. (nasb) Zep 1:4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;(kjv) Zep 1:4 "I will stretch out My hand against Judah, And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, The names of the idolatrous priests with the pagan priests--(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:5 ============ Zep 1:5 "And those who bow down on the housetops to the host of heaven, And those who bow down and swear to the Lord and yet swear by Milcom, (nasb) Zep 1:5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;(kjv) Zep 1:5 Those who worship the host of heaven on the housetops; Those who worship and swear oaths by the Lord, But who also swear by Milcom;(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:6 ============ Zep 1:6 And those who have turned back from following the Lord, And those who have not sought the Lord or inquired of Him."(nasb) Zep 1:6 And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.(kjv) Zep 1:6 Those who have turned back from following the Lord, And have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him."(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:7 ============ Zep 1:7 Be silent before the Lord God! For the day of the Lord is near, For the Lord has prepared a sacrifice, He has consecrated His guests. (nasb) Zep 1:7 Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.(kjv) Zep 1:7 Be silent in the presence of the Lord God; For the day of the Lord is at hand, For the Lord has prepared a sacrifice; He has invited His guests.(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:8 ============ Zep 1:8 "Then it will come about on the day of the Lord's sacrifice That I will punish the princes, the king's sons And all who clothe themselves with foreign garments. (nasb) Zep 1:8 And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.(kjv) Zep 1:8 "And it shall be, In the day of the Lord's sacrifice, That I will punish the princes and the king's children, And all such as are clothed with foreign apparel.(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:9 ============ Zep 1:9 "And I will punish on that day all who leap on the temple threshold, Who fill the house of their lord with violence and deceit. (nasb) Zep 1:9 In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.(kjv) Zep 1:9 In the same day I will punish All those who leap over the threshold, Who fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:10 ============ Zep 1:10 "On that day," declares the Lord, "There will be the sound of a cry from the Fish Gate, A wail from the Second Quarter, And a loud crash from the hills. (nasb) Zep 1:10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.(kjv) Zep 1:10 "And there shall be on that day," says the Lord, "The sound of a mournful cry from the Fish Gate, A wailing from the Second Quarter, And a loud crashing from the hills.(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:11 ============ Zep 1:11 "Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar, For all the people of Canaan will be silenced; All who weigh out silver will be cut off. (nasb) Zep 1:11 Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.(kjv) Zep 1:11 Wail, you inhabitants of Maktesh! For all the merchant people are cut down; All those who handle money are cut off.(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:12 ============ Zep 1:12 "It will come about at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And I will punish the men Who are stagnant in spirit, Who say in their hearts, 'The Lord will not do good or evil!'(nasb) Zep 1:12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.(kjv) Zep 1:12 "And it shall come to pass at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And punish the men Who are settled in complacency, Who say in their heart, 'The Lord will not do good, Nor will He do evil.'(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:13 ============ Zep 1:13 "Moreover, their wealth will become plunder And their houses desolate; Yes, they will build houses but not inhabit them, And plant vineyards but not drink their wine."(nasb) Zep 1:13 Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.(kjv) Zep 1:13 Therefore their goods shall become booty, And their houses a desolation; They shall build houses, but not inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards, but not drink their wine."(nkjv) ======= Zephaniah 1:14 ============ Zep 1:14 Near is the great day of the Lord, Near and coming very quickly; Listen, the day of the Lord!
