He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.(NKJV) Jon 1:3 Aber Jona machte sich auf und floh vor dem HERRN und wollte gen Tharsis und kam hinab gen Japho. Und da er ein Schiff fand, das gen Tharsis wollte fahren, gab er Fährgeld und trat hinein, daß er mit ihnen gen Tharsis führe vor dem HERRN.(DE) Jona 1:3 Maar Jona maakte zich op om te vluchten naar Tarsis, van het aangezicht des HEEREN; en hij kwam af te Jafo, en vond een schip, gaande naar Tarsis, en hij gaf de vracht daarvan, en ging neder in hetzelve, om met henlieden te gaan naar Tarsis, van het aan gezicht des HEEREN.(NL) Jonah 1:3 Mutta Jona nousi ja tahtoi paeta Tarsikseen Herran kasvoin edestä. Ja hän tuli Japhoon, ja kuin hän löysi haahden, joka tahtoi Tarsikseen mennä, antoi hän palkan, ja astui siihen menemään heidän kanssansa Tarsikseen Herran kasvoin edestä.(FI) Jon 1:3 Et surrexit Jonas, ut fugeret in Tharsis a facie Domini, et descendit in Joppen: et invenit navem euntem in Tharsis, et dedit naulum ejus, et descendit in eam ut iret cum eis in Tharsis a facie Domini.(Latin) Jon 1:3 καὶ ἀνέστη Ιωνας τοῦ φυγεῖν εἰς Θαρσις ἐκ προσώπου κυρίου καὶ κατέβη εἰς Ιοππην καὶ εὗρεν πλοῖον βαδίζον εἰς Θαρσις καὶ ἔδωκεν τὸ ναῦλον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐνέβη εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦ πλεῦσαι μετ᾽ αὐτῶν εἰς Θαρσις ἐκ προσώπου κυρίου(GR-lxx) Jonah 1:3 But Ionah rose vp to flee into Tarshish fro the presence of the Lord, and went downe to Iapho: and he founde a ship going to Tarshish: so he payed the fare thereof, and went downe into it, that he might go with them vnto Tarshish, from the presence of the Lord.(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:4 ============ Jon 1:4 But the Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up.(NKJV) Jon 1:4 Da ließ der HERR einen großen Wind aufs Meer kommen, und es erhob sich ein großes Ungewitter auf dem Meer, daß man meinte, das Schiff würde zerbrechen.(DE) Jona 1:4 Maar de HEERE wierp een groten wind op de zee; en er werd een grote storm in de zee, zodat het schip dacht te breken.(NL) Jonah 1:4 Niin Herra antoi suuren tuulen tulla merelle, ja suuri ilma nousi merellä, niin että haaksi luultiin rikkaantuvan.(FI) Jon 1:4 Dominus autem misit ventum magnum in mare: et facta est tempestas magna in mari, et navis periclitabatur conteri.(Latin) Jon 1:4 καὶ κύριος ἐξήγειρεν πνεῦμα εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ ἐγένετο κλύδων μέγας ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ καὶ τὸ πλοῖον ἐκινδύνευεν συντριβῆναι(GR-lxx) Jonah 1:4 But the Lorde sent out a great winde into the sea, and there was a mightie tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:5 ============ Jon 1:5 Then the mariners were afraid; and every man cried out to his god, and threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten the load. But Jonah had gone down into the lowest parts of the ship, had lain down, and was fast asleep.(NKJV) Jon 1:5 Und die Schiffsleute fürchteten sich und schrieen, ein jeglicher zu seinem Gott, und warfen das Gerät, das im Schiff war, ins Meer, daß es leichter würde. Aber Jona war hinunter in das Schiff gestiegen, lag und schlief.(DE) Jona 1:5 Toen vreesden de zeelieden, en riepen een iegelijk tot zijn god, en wierpen de vaten, die in het schip waren, in de zee, om het van dezelve te verlichten; maar Jona was nedergegaan aan de zijden van het schip, en lag neder, en was met een diepen slaap bevangen.(NL) Jonah 1:5 Ja haaksimiehet pelkäsivät, ja kukin huusi jumalansa tykö, ja he heittivät kalut, jotka haahdessa olivat, mereen keviämmäksi tullaksensa. Arise, call vpon thy God, if so be that God wil thinke vpon vs, that we perish not.(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:7 ============ Jon 1:7 And they said to one another, "Come, let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this trouble has come upon us." So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.(NKJV) Jon 1:7 Und einer sprach zum andern: Kommt, wir wollen losen, daß wir erfahren, um welches willen es uns so übel gehe. Und da sie losten traf's Jona.(DE) Jona 1:7 Voorts zeiden zij, een ieder tot zijn metgezel: Komt, en laat ons loten werpen, opdat wij mogen weten, om wiens wil ons dit kwaad overkomt. Alzo wierpen zij loten, en het lot viel op Jona.(NL) Jonah 1:7 Niin he sanoivat toinen toisellensa: tulkaat, ja heittäkäämme arpaa, tietääksemme, kenenkä tähden tämä onnettomuus meillä on; ja kuin he heittivät arpaa, lankesi arpa Jonan päälle.(FI) Jon 1:7 Et dixit vir ad collegam suum: Venite et mittamus sortes, et sciamus quare hoc malum sit nobis. Et miserunt sortes, et cecidit sors super Jonam.(Latin) Jon 1:7 καὶ εἶπεν ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ δεῦτε βάλωμεν κλήρους καὶ ἐπιγνῶμεν τίνος ἕνεκεν ἡ κακία αὕτη ἐστὶν ἐν ἡμῖν καὶ ἔβαλον κλήρους καὶ ἔπεσεν ὁ κλῆρος ἐπὶ Ιωναν(GR-lxx) Jonah 1:7 And they saide euery one to his fellowe, Come, and let vs cast lottes, that we may know, for whose cause this euill is vpon vs. So they cast lottes, and the lot fell vpon Ionah.(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:8 ============ Jon 1:8 Then they said to him, "Please tell us! For whose cause is this trouble upon us? What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? And of what people are you?"(NKJV) Jon 1:8 Da sprachen sie zu ihm: Sage uns, warum geht es uns so übel? was ist dein Gewerbe, und wo kommst du her? Aus welchem Lande bist du, und von welchem Volk bist du?(DE) Jona 1:8 Toen zeiden zij tot hem: Verklaar ons nu, om wiens wil ons dit kwaad overkomt. Wat is uw werk en van waar komt gij? Welk is uw land en van welk volk zijt gij?(NL) Jonah 1:8 Niin he sanoivat hänelle: ilmoita nyt meille, kenen tähden tämä onnettomuus meillä on? mikä sinun tekos on, ja kustas tulet? kusta maakunnasta eli kansasta sinä olet?(FI) Jon 1:8 Et dixerunt ad eum: Indica nobis cujus causa malum istud sit nobis: quod est opus tuum? quæ terra tua, et quo vadis? vel ex quo populo es tu?(Latin) Jon 1:8 καὶ εἶπον πρὸς αὐτόν ἀπάγγειλον ἡμῖν τίνος ἕνεκεν ἡ κακία αὕτη ἐστὶν ἐν ἡμῖν τίς σου ἡ ἐργασία ἐστίν καὶ πόθεν ἔρχῃ καὶ ἐκ ποίας χώρας καὶ ἐκ ποίου λαοῦ εἶ σύ(GR-lxx) Jonah 1:8 Then said they vnto him, Tell vs for whose cause this euill is vpon vs? what is thine occupation? and whence commest thou? which is thy countrey? and of what people art thou?(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:9 ============ Jon 1:9 So he said to them, "I am a Hebrew; and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land."(NKJV) Jon 1:9 Er sprach zu ihnen: Ich bin ein Hebräer und fürchte den HERRN, den Gott des Himmels, welcher gemacht hat das Meer und das Trockene.(DE) Jona 1:9 En hij zeide tot hen: Ik ben een Hebreer; en ik vreze den HEERE, den God des hemels, Die de zee en het droge gemaakt heeft.(NL) Jonah 1:9 Hän sanoi heille: minä olen Hebrealainen, ja minä pelkään Herraa Jumalaa taivaasta, joka meren ja karkian on tehnyt.(FI) Jon 1:9 Et dixit ad eos: Hebræus ego sum, et Dominum Deum cæli ego timeo, qui fecit mare et aridam.(Latin) Jon 1:9 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς δοῦλος κυρίου ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ τὸν κύριον θεὸν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐγὼ σέβομαι ὃς ἐποίησεν τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ τὴν ξηράν(GR-lxx) Jonah 1:9 And he answered them, I am an Ebrewe, and I feare the Lord God of heauen, which hath made the sea, and the dry lande.(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:10 ============ Jon 1:10 Then the men were exceedingly afraid, and said to him, "Why have you done this?" For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them.(NKJV) Jon 1:10 Da fürchteten sich die Leute sehr und sprachen zu ihm: Warum hast du denn solches getan? denn sie wußten, daß er vor dem HERRN floh; denn er hatte es ihnen gesagt.(DE) Jona 1:10 Toen vreesden die mannen met grote vreze, en zeiden tot hem: Wat hebt gij dit gedaan? Want de mannen wisten, dat hij van des HEEREN aangezicht vlood; want hij had het hun te kennen gegeven.(NL) Jonah 1:10 Niin ne miehet pelkäsivät suuresti, ja sanoivat hänelle: miksis näin teit? (for the men knewe, that he fled from the presence of the Lorde, because he had tolde them)(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:11 ============ Jon 1:11 Then they said to him, "What shall we do to you that the sea may be calm for us?"--for the sea was growing more tempestuous.(NKJV) Jon 1:11 Da sprachen sie zu ihm: Was sollen wir denn mit dir tun, daß uns das Meer still werde? (for the sea wrought and was troublous)(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:12 ============ Jon 1:12 And he said to them, "Pick me up and throw me into the sea; then the sea will become calm for you. For I know that this great tempest is because of me."(NKJV) Jon 1:12 Er sprach zu ihnen: Nehmt mich und werft mich ins Meer, so wird euch das Meer still werden. Denn ich weiß, daß solch groß Ungewitter über euch kommt um meinetwillen.(DE) Jona 1:12 En hij zeide tot hen: Neemt mij op, en werpt mij in de zee, zo zal de zee stil worden van ulieden; want ik weet, dat deze grote storm ulieden om mijnentwil over komt.(NL) Jonah 1:12 Hän sanoi heille: ottakaat minut ja heittäkäät mereen, niin meri teille tyvenee; sillä minä tiedän, että tämä suuri ilma tulee teidän päällenne minun tähteni.(FI) Jon 1:12 Et dixit ad eos: Tollite me, et mittite in mare, et cessabit mare a vobis: scio enim ego quoniam propter me tempestas hæc grandis venit super vos.(Latin) Jon 1:12 καὶ εἶπεν Ιωνας πρὸς αὐτούς ἄρατέ με καὶ ἐμβάλετέ με εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ κοπάσει ἡ θάλασσα ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν διότι ἔγνωκα ἐγὼ ὅτι δι᾽ ἐμὲ ὁ κλύδων ὁ μέγας οὗτος ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς ἐστιν(GR-lxx) Jonah 1:12 And he said vnto them, Take me, and cast me into the sea: so shall the sea be calme vnto you: for I knowe that for my sake this great tempest is vpon you.(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:13 ============ Jon 1:13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to return to land, but they could not, for the sea continued to grow more tempestuous against them.(NKJV) Jon 1:13 Und die Leute trieben, daß sie wieder zu Lande kämen; aber sie konnten nicht, denn das Meer fuhr ungestüm wider sie.(DE) Jona 1:13 Maar de mannen roeiden, om het schip weder te brengen aan het droge, doch zij konden niet; want de zee werd hoe langer hoe onstuimiger tegen hen.(NL) Jonah 1:13 Ja miehet koettivat saada haahden kuivalle; mutta ei he voineet, sillä meri kävi väkevästi heidän ylitsensä.(FI) Jon 1:13 Et remigabant viri ut reverterentur ad aridam, et non valebant, quia mare ibat, et intumescebat super eos.(Latin) Jon 1:13 καὶ παρεβιάζοντο οἱ ἄνδρες τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι πρὸς τὴν γῆν καὶ οὐκ ἠδύναντο ὅτι ἡ θάλασσα ἐπορεύετο καὶ ἐξηγείρετο μᾶλλον ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς(GR-lxx) Jonah 1:13 Neuerthelesse, the men rowed to bring it to the lande, but they coulde not: for the sea wrought, and was troublous against them.(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:14 ============ Jon 1:14 Therefore they cried out to the Lord and said, "We pray, O Lord, please do not let us perish for this man's life, and do not charge us with innocent blood; for You, O Lord, have done as it pleased You."(NKJV) Jon 1:14 Da riefen sie zu dem HERRN und sprachen: Ach HERR, laß uns nicht verderben um dieses Mannes Seele willen und rechne uns nicht zu unschuldig Blut! denn du, HERR, tust, wie dir's gefällt.(DE) Jona 1:14 Toen riepen zij tot den HEERE, en zeiden: Och HEERE! laat ons toch niet vergaan om dezes mans ziel, en leg geen onschuldig bloed op ons; want Gij, HEERE! hebt gedaan, gelijk als het U heeft behaagd.(NL) Jonah 1:14 Niin he huusivat Herran tykö ja sanoivat: voi Herra! älä anna meidän hukkua tämän miehen sielun tähden, ja älä lue meillen tätä viatointa verta! sillä sinä, Herra, teet niinkuin sinä tahdot.(FI) Jon 1:14 Et clamaverunt ad Dominum, et dixerunt: Quæsumus, Domine, ne pereamus in anima viri istius, et ne des super nos sanguinem innocentem: quia tu, Domine, sicut voluisti, fecisti.(Latin) Jon 1:14 καὶ ἀνεβόησαν πρὸς κύριον καὶ εἶπαν μηδαμῶς κύριε μὴ ἀπολώμεθα ἕνεκεν τῆς ψυχῆς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τούτου καὶ μὴ δῷς ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς αἷμα δίκαιον ὅτι σύ κύριε ὃν τρόπον ἐβούλου πεποίηκας(GR-lxx) Jonah 1:14 Wherefore they cryed vnto the Lord, and said, We beseech thee, O Lord, we beseech thee, let vs not perish for this mans life, and lay not vpon vs innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done, as it pleased thee.(GB-Geneva) ======= Jonah 1:15 ============ Jon 1:15 So they picked up Jonah and threw him into the sea, and the sea ceased from its raging.(NKJV) Jon 1:15 Und sie nahmen Jona und warfen ihn ins Meer; das stand das Meer still von seinem Wüten.(DE) Jona 1:15 En zij namen Jona op, en wierpen hem in de zee.
