Has anything like this happened in your days Or in your fathers' days?(nasb) Joe 1:2 [Audite hoc, senes, et auribus percipite, omnes habitatores terræ: si factum est istud in diebus vestris, aut in diebus patrum vestrorum?(vulgate) Joel 1:2 Oíd esto, ancianos, y escuchad, todos los moradores de la tierra. ¿Ha acontecido esto en vuestros días, o en los días de vuestros padres?(E) Joël 1:2 Ecoutez ceci, vieillards! Prêtez l'oreille, vous tous, habitants du pays! Rien de pareil est-il arrivé de votre temps, Ou du temps de vos pères?(F) Joe 1:2 Höret dies, ihr Ältesten, und merket auf alle Einwohner im Lande, ob solches geschehen sei zu euren Zeiten oder zu eurer Väter Zeiten!(D) Joe 1:2 ἀκούσατε δὴ ταῦτα οἱ πρεσβύτεροι καὶ ἐνωτίσασθε πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν γῆν εἰ γέγονεν τοιαῦτα ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ὑμῶν ἢ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν(lxx) Joe 1:2 Hear this, you elders, And give ear, all you inhabitants of the land! Has anything like this happened in your days, Or even in the days of your fathers?(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:3 ============ Joe 1:3 Tell your sons about it, And let your sons tell their sons, And their sons the next generation.(nasb) Joe 1:3 Super hoc filiis vestris narrate, et filii vestri filiis suis, et filii eorum generationi alteræ.(vulgate) Joel 1:3 De esto contaréis a vuestros hijos, y vuestros hijos a sus hijos, y sus hijos a la otra generación.(E) Joël 1:3 Racontez-le à vos enfants, Et que vos enfants le racontent à leurs enfants, Et leurs enfants à la génération qui suivra!(F) Joe 1:3 Saget euren Kindern davon und lasset's eure Kinder ihren Kindern sagen und diese Kinder ihren Nachkommen!(D) Joe 1:3 ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν τοῖς τέκνοις ὑμῶν διηγήσασθε καὶ τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν τοῖς τέκνοις αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν εἰς γενεὰν ἑτέραν(lxx) Joe 1:3 Tell your children about it, Let your children tell their children, And their children another generation.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:4 ============ Joe 1:4 What the gnawing locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten; And what the swarming locust has left, the creeping locust has eaten; And what the creeping locust has left, the stripping locust has eaten.(nasb) Joe 1:4 Residuum erucæ comedit locusta, et residuum locustæ comedit bruchus, et residuum bruchi comedit rubigo.(vulgate) Joel 1:4 Lo que dejó la oruga, lo comió la langosta, y lo que dejó la langosta, lo comió el pulgón; y el revoltón comió lo que el pulgón había dejado.(E) Joël 1:4 Ce qu'a laissé le gazam, la sauterelle l'a dévoré; Ce qu'a laissé la sauterelle, le jélek l'a dévoré; Ce qu'a laissé le jélek, le hasil l'a dévoré.(F) Joe 1:4 Was die Raupen lassen, das fressen die Heuschrecken; und was die Heuschrecken lassen, das fressen die Käfer; und was die Käfer lassen, das frißt das Geschmeiß.(D) Joe 1:4 τὰ κατάλοιπα τῆς κάμπης κατέφαγεν ἡ ἀκρίς καὶ τὰ κατάλοιπα τῆς ἀκρίδος κατέφαγεν ὁ βροῦχος καὶ τὰ κατάλοιπα τοῦ βρούχου κατέφαγεν ἡ ἐρυσίβη(lxx) Joe 1:4 What the chewing locust left, the swarming locust has eaten; What the swarming locust left, the crawling locust has eaten; And what the crawling locust left, the consuming locust has eaten.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:5 ============ Joe 1:5 Awake, drunkards, and weep; And wail, all you wine drinkers, On account of the sweet wine That is cut off from your mouth.(nasb) Joe 1:5 Expergiscimini, ebrii, et flete et ululate, omnes qui bibitis vinum in dulcedine, quoniam periit ab ore vestro.(vulgate) Joel 1:5 Despertad, borrachos, y llorad; aullad todos los que bebéis vino, a causa del vino nuevo, porque os es quitado de vuestra boca.(E) Joël 1:5 Réveillez-vous, ivrognes, et pleurez! Vous tous, buveurs de vin, gémissez, Parce que le moût vous est enlevé de la bouche!(F) Joe 1:5 Wachet auf, ihr Trunkenen, und weinet, und heulet, alle Weinsäufer, um den Most; denn er ist euch vor eurem Maul weggenommen.(D) Joe 1:5 ἐκνήψατε οἱ μεθύοντες ἐξ οἴνου αὐτῶν καὶ κλαύσατε θρηνήσατε πάντες οἱ πίνοντες οἶνον εἰς μέθην ὅτι ἐξῆρται ἐκ στόματος ὑμῶν εὐφροσύνη καὶ χαρά(lxx) Joe 1:5 Awake, you drunkards, and weep; And wail, all you drinkers of wine, Because of the new wine, For it has been cut off from your mouth.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:6 ============ Joe 1:6 For a nation has invaded my land, Mighty and without number; Its teeth are the teeth of a lion, And it has the fangs of a lioness.(nasb) Joe 1:6 Gens enim ascendit super terram meam, fortis et innumerabilis: dentes ejus ut dentes leonis, et molares ejus ut catuli leonis.(vulgate) Joel 1:6 Porque nación fuerte y sin número subió a mi tierra; sus dientes, son dientes de león, y sus colmillos, de un gran león.(E) Joël 1:6 Car un peuple est venu fondre sur mon pays, Puissant et innombrable. Il a les dents d'un lion, Les mâchoires d'une lionne.(F) Joe 1:6 Denn es zieht herauf in mein Land ein mächtiges Volk und ohne Zahl; das hat Zähne wie Löwen und Backenzähne wie Löwinnen.(D) Joe 1:6 ὅτι ἔθνος ἀνέβη ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν μου ἰσχυρὸν καὶ ἀναρίθμητον οἱ ὀδόντες αὐτοῦ ὀδόντες λέοντος καὶ αἱ μύλαι αὐτοῦ σκύμνου(lxx) Joe 1:6 For a nation has come up against My land, Strong, and without number; His teeth are the teeth of a lion, And he has the fangs of a fierce lion.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:7 ============ Joe 1:7 It has made my vine a waste And my fig tree splinters. It has stripped them bare and cast them away; Their branches have become white.(nasb) Joe 1:7 Posuit vineam meam in desertum, et ficum meam decorticavit; nudans spoliavit eam, et projecit: albi facti sunt rami ejus.(vulgate) Joel 1:7 Asoló mi vid, y descortezó mi higuera; del todo la desnudó y derribó: sus ramas quedaron blancas.(E) Joël 1:7 Il a dévasté ma vigne; Il a mis en morceaux mon figuier, Il l'a dépouillé, abattu; Les rameaux de la vigne ont blanchi.(F) Joe 1:7 Das verwüstet meinen Weinberg und streift meinen Feigenbaum ab, schält ihn und verwirft ihn, daß seine Zweige weiß dastehen.(D) Joe 1:7 ἔθετο τὴν ἄμπελόν μου εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ τὰς συκᾶς μου εἰς συγκλασμόν ἐρευνῶν ἐξηρεύνησεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἔρριψεν ἐλεύκανεν κλήματα αὐτῆς(lxx) Joe 1:7 He has laid waste My vine, And ruined My fig tree; He has stripped it bare and thrown it away; Its branches are made white.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:8 ============ Joe 1:8 Wail like a virgin girded with sackcloth For the bridegroom of her youth.(nasb) Joe 1:8 Plange quasi virgo accincta sacco super virum pubertatis suæ.(vulgate) Joel 1:8 Llora tú como virgen vestida de cilicio por el marido de su juventud.(E) Joël 1:8 Lamente-toi, comme la vierge qui se revêt d'un sac Pour pleurer l'ami de sa jeunesse!(F) Joe 1:8 Heule wie eine Jungfrau die einen Sack anlegt um ihren Bräutigam!(D) Joe 1:8 θρήνησον πρός με ὑπὲρ νύμφην περιεζωσμένην σάκκον ἐπὶ τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτῆς τὸν παρθενικόν(lxx) Joe 1:8 Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth For the husband of her youth.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:9 ============ Joe 1:9 The grain offering and the drink offering are cut off From the house of the Lord. The priests mourn, The ministers of the Lord.(nasb) Joe 1:9 Periit sacrificium et libatio de domo Domini; luxerunt sacerdotes, ministri Domini.(vulgate) Joel 1:9 La ofrenda y la libación han desaparecido de la casa de Jehová; los sacerdotes ministros de Jehová están de duelo.(E) Joël 1:9 Offrandes et libations disparaissent de la maison de l'Eternel; Les sacrificateurs, serviteurs de l'Eternel, sont dans le deuil.(F) Joe 1:9 Denn das Speisopfer und Trankopfer ist vom Hause des HERRN weg, und die Priester, des HERRN Diener, trauern.(D) Joe 1:9 ἐξῆρται θυσία καὶ σπονδὴ ἐξ οἴκου κυρίου πενθεῖτε οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ λειτουργοῦντες θυσιαστηρίῳ(lxx) Joe 1:9 The grain offering and the drink offering Have been cut off from the house of the Lord; The priests mourn, who minister to the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:10 ============ Joe 1:10 The field is ruined, The land mourns; For the grain is ruined, The new wine dries up, Fresh oil fails.(nasb) Joe 1:10 Depopulata est regio, luxit humus, quoniam devastatum est triticum, confusum est vinum, elanguit oleum.(vulgate) Joel 1:10 El campo fue desolado, se enlutó la tierra; porque el trigo fue destruido, se secó el mosto, languideció el aceite.(E) Joël 1:10 Les champs sont ravagés, La terre est attristée; Car les blés sont détruits, Le moût est tari, l'huile est desséchée.(F) Joe 1:10 Das Feld ist verwüstet, und der Acker steht jämmerlich; das Getreide ist verdorben, der Wein steht jämmerlich und das Öl kläglich.(D) Joe 1:10 ὅτι τεταλαιπώρηκεν τὰ πεδία πενθείτω ἡ γῆ ὅτι τεταλαιπώρηκεν σῖτος ἐξηράνθη οἶνος ὠλιγώθη ἔλαιον(lxx) Joe 1:10 The field is wasted, The land mourns; For the grain is ruined, The new wine is dried up, The oil fails.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:11 ============ Joe 1:11 Be ashamed, O farmers, Wail, O vinedressers, For the wheat and the barley; Because the harvest of the field is destroyed.(nasb) Joe 1:11 Confusi sunt agricolæ, ululaverunt vinitores super frumento et hordeo, quia periit messis agri.(vulgate) Joel 1:11 Confundíos, labradores, aullad, viñeros, por el trigo y la cebada; porque se perdió la mies del campo.(E) Joël 1:11 Les laboureurs sont consternés, les vignerons gémissent, A cause du froment et de l'orge, Parce que la moisson des champs est perdue.(F) Joe 1:11 Die Ackerleute sehen jämmerlich, und die Weingärtner heulen um den Weizen und die Gerste, daß aus der Ernte auf dem Felde nichts werden kann.(D) Joe 1:11 ἐξηράνθησαν οἱ γεωργοί θρηνεῖτε κτήματα ὑπὲρ πυροῦ καὶ κριθῆς ὅτι ἀπόλωλεν τρυγητὸς ἐξ ἀγροῦ(lxx) Joe 1:11 Be ashamed, you farmers, Wail, you vinedressers, For the wheat and the barley; Because the harvest of the field has perished.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:12 ============ Joe 1:12 The vine dries up And the fig tree fails; The pomegranate, the palm also, and the apple tree, All the trees of the field dry up. Indeed, rejoicing dries up From the sons of men.(nasb) Joe 1:12 Vinea confusa est, et ficus elanguit; malogranatum, et palma, et malum, et omnia ligna agri aruerunt, quia confusum est gaudium a filiis hominum.(vulgate) Joel 1:12 Se secó la vid, se marchitó la higuera, el granado también, la palmera y el manzano; se secaron todos los árboles del campo; por lo cual se secó el gozo de los hijos de los hombres.(E) Joël 1:12 La vigne est confuse, Le figuier languissant; Le grenadier, le palmier, le pommier, Tous les arbres des champs sont flétris... La joie a cessé parmi les fils de l'homme!(F) Joe 1:12 So steht der Weinstock auch jämmerlich und der Feigenbaum kläglich; dazu die Granatbäume, Palmbäume, Apfelbäume und alle Bäume auf dem Felde sind verdorrt; denn die Freude der Menschen ist zu Jammer geworden.(D) Joe 1:12 ἡ ἄμπελος ἐξηράνθη καὶ αἱ συκαῖ ὠλιγώθησαν ῥόα καὶ φοῖνιξ καὶ μῆλον καὶ πάντα τὰ ξύλα τοῦ ἀγροῦ ἐξηράνθησαν ὅτι ᾔσχυναν χαρὰν οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν ἀνθρώπων(lxx) Joe 1:12 The vine has dried up, And the fig tree has withered; The pomegranate tree, The palm tree also, And the apple tree-- All the trees of the field are withered; Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:13 ============ Joe 1:13 Gird yourselves with sackcloth And lament, O priests; Wail, O ministers of the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth O ministers of my God, For the grain offering and the drink offering Are withheld from the house of your God.(nasb) Joe 1:13 Accingite vos, et plangite, sacerdotes: ululate, ministri altaris; ingredimini, cubate in sacco, ministri Dei mei, quoniam interiit de domo Dei vestri sacrificium et libatio.(vulgate) Joel 1:13 Ceñíos y lamentad, sacerdotes; aullad, ministros del altar; venid, dormid en cilicio, ministros de mi Dios; porque quitada es de la casa de vuestro Dios la ofrenda y la libación.(E) Joël 1:13 Sacrificateurs, ceignez-vous et pleurez! Lamentez-vous, serviteurs de l'autel! Venez, passez la nuit revêtus de sacs, Serviteurs de mon Dieu! Car offrandes et libations ont disparu de la maison de votre Dieu.(F) Joe 1:13 Begürtet euch nun und klaget, ihr Priester; heulet, ihr Diener des Altars; gehet hinein und lieget in Säcken, ihr Diener meines Gottes! denn es ist Speisopfer und Trankopfer vom Hause eures Gottes weg.(D) Joe 1:13 περιζώσασθε καὶ κόπτεσθε οἱ ἱερεῖς θρηνεῖτε οἱ λειτουργοῦντες θυσιαστηρίῳ εἰσέλθατε ὑπνώσατε ἐν σάκκοις λειτουργοῦντες θεῷ ὅτι ἀπέσχηκεν ἐξ οἴκου θεοῦ ὑμῶν θυσία καὶ σπονδή(lxx) Joe 1:13 Gird yourselves and lament, you priests; Wail, you who minister before the altar; Come, lie all night in sackcloth, You who minister to my God; For the grain offering and the drink offering Are withheld from the house of your God.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:14 ============ Joe 1:14 Consecrate a fast, Proclaim a solemn assembly; Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land To the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord.(nasb) Joe 1:14 Sanctificate jejunium, vocate cœtum, congregate senes, omnes habitatores terræ in domum Dei vestri, et clamate ad Dominum:(vulgate) Joel 1:14 Pregonad ayuno, convocad a asamblea; congregad a los ancianos y a todos los moradores de la tierra en la casa de Jehová vuestro Dios, y clamad a Jehová.(E) Joël 1:14 Publiez un jeûne, une convocation solennelle! Assemblez les vieillards, tous les habitants du pays, Dans la maison de l'Eternel, votre Dieu, Et criez à l'Eternel!(F) Joe 1:14 Heiliget ein Fasten, rufet die Gemeinde zusammen; versammelt die Ältesten und alle Einwohner des Landes zum Hause des HERRN, eures Gottes, und schreit zum HERRN!(D) Joe 1:14 ἁγιάσατε νηστείαν κηρύξατε θεραπείαν συναγάγετε πρεσβυτέρους πάντας κατοικοῦντας γῆν εἰς οἶκον θεοῦ ὑμῶν καὶ κεκράξατε πρὸς κύριον ἐκτενῶς(lxx) Joe 1:14 Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land Into the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:15 ============ Joe 1:15 Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is near, And it will come as destruction from the Almighty.(nasb) Joe 1:15 A, a, a, diei! quia prope est dies Domini, et quasi vastitas a potente veniet.(vulgate) Joel 1:15 ¡Ay del día! porque cercano [está] el día de Jehová, y vendrá como destrucción por el Todopoderoso.(E) Joël 1:15 Ah! quel jour! Car le jour de l'Eternel est proche: Il vient comme un ravage du Tout-Puissant.(F) Joe 1:15 O weh des Tages! denn der Tag des HERRN ist nahe und kommt wie ein Verderben vom Allmächtigen.(D) Joe 1:15 οἴμμοι οἴμμοι οἴμμοι εἰς ἡμέραν ὅτι ἐγγὺς ἡμέρα κυρίου καὶ ὡς ταλαιπωρία ἐκ ταλαιπωρίας ἥξει(lxx) Joe 1:15 Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is at hand; It shall come as destruction from the Almighty.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:16 ============ Joe 1:16 Has not food been cut off before our eyes, Gladness and joy from the house of our God?(nasb) Joe 1:16 Numquid non coram oculis vestris alimenta perierunt de domo Dei nostri, lætitia et exsultatio?(vulgate) Joel 1:16 ¿No fue quitado el alimento de delante de nuestros ojos, la alegría y el placer de la casa de nuestro Dios?(E) Joël 1:16 La nourriture n'est-elle pas enlevée sous nos yeux? La joie et l'allégresse n'ont-elles pas disparu de la maison de notre Dieu?(F) Joe 1:16 Ist nicht die Speise vor unsern Augen weggenommen und vom Hause unsers Gottes Freude und Wonne?(D) Joe 1:16 κατέναντι τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν ὑμῶν βρώματα ἐξωλεθρεύθη ἐξ οἴκου θεοῦ ὑμῶν εὐφροσύνη καὶ χαρά(lxx) Joe 1:16 Is not the food cut off before our eyes, Joy and gladness from the house of our God?(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:17 ============ Joe 1:17 The seeds shrivel under their clods; The storehouses are desolate, The barns are torn down, For the grain is dried up.(nasb) Joe 1:17 Computruerunt jumenta in stercore suo, demolita sunt horrea, dissipatæ sunt apothecæ, quoniam confusum est triticum.(vulgate) Joel 1:17 El grano se pudrió debajo de los terrones, los graneros fueron asolados, los alfolíes destruidos; porque se secó el trigo.(E) Joël 1:17 Les semences ont séché sous les mottes; Les greniers sont vides, Les magasins sont en ruines, Car il n'y a point de blé.(F) Joe 1:17 Der Same ist unter der Erde verfault, die Kornhäuser stehen wüst, die Scheunen zerfallen; denn das Getreide ist verdorben.(D) Joe 1:17 ἐσκίρτησαν δαμάλεις ἐπὶ ταῖς φάτναις αὐτῶν ἠφανίσθησαν θησαυροί κατεσκάφησαν ληνοί ὅτι ἐξηράνθη σῖτος(lxx) Joe 1:17 The seed shrivels under the clods, Storehouses are in shambles; Barns are broken down, For the grain has withered.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:18 ============ Joe 1:18 How the beasts groan! The herds of cattle wander aimlessly Because there is no pasture for them; Even the flocks of sheep suffer.(nasb) Joe 1:18 Quid ingemuit animal, mugierunt greges armenti? quia non est pascua eis; sed et greges pecorum disperierunt.(vulgate) Joel 1:18 ¡Cómo gimieron las bestias! ¡Cuán turbados anduvieron los hatos de los bueyes, porque no tuvieron pastos! también fueron asolados los rebaños de las ovejas.(E) Joël 1:18 Comme les bêtes gémissent! Les troupeaux de boeufs sont consternés, Parce qu'ils sont sans pâturage; Et même les troupeaux de brebis sont en souffrance.(F) Joe 1:18 O wie seufzt das Vieh! Die Rinder sehen kläglich, denn sie haben keine Weide, und die Schafe verschmachten.(D) Joe 1:18 τί ἀποθήσομεν ἑαυτοῖς ἔκλαυσαν βουκόλια βοῶν ὅτι οὐχ ὑπῆρχεν νομὴ αὐτοῖς καὶ τὰ ποίμνια τῶν προβάτων ἠφανίσθησαν(lxx) Joe 1:18 How the animals groan! The herds of cattle are restless, Because they have no pasture; Even the flocks of sheep suffer punishment.(nkjv) ======= Joel 1:19 ============ Joe 1:19 To You, O Lord, I cry; For fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness And the flame has burned up all the trees of the field.(nasb) Joe 1:19 Ad te, Domine, clamabo, quia ignis comedit speciosa deserti, et flamma succendit omnia ligna regionis.(vulgate) Joel 1:19 A ti, oh Jehová, clamaré: porque fuego consumió los pastos del desierto, y llama abrasó todos los árboles del campo.(E) Joël 1:19 C'est vers toi que je crie, ô Eternel!
