Today's Date: ======= Amos 2:1 ============ Amo 2:1 Thus says the Lord, "For three transgressions of Moab and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.(nasb) Amo 2:1 [Hæc dicit Dominus: Super tribus sceleribus Moab, et super quatuor non convertam eum, eo quod incenderit ossa regis Idumææ usque ad cinerem.(vulgate) Amós 2:1 Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Moab, y por el cuarto, no revocaré [su castigo]; porque quemó los huesos del rey de Idumea hasta calcinarlos.(E) Amos 2:1 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: A cause de trois crimes de Moab, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'il a brûlé, calciné les os du roi d'Edom.(F) Amo 2:1 So spricht der HERR: Um drei und vier Frevel willen Moabs will ich ihrer nicht schonen, darum daß sie die Gebeine des Königs zu Edom haben zu Asche verbrannt;(D) Amo 2:1 τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις Μωαβ καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτόν ἀνθ᾽ ὧν κατέκαυσαν τὰ ὀστᾶ βασιλέως τῆς Ιδουμαίας εἰς κονίαν(lxx) Amo 2:1 Thus says the Lord: "For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:2 ============ Amo 2:2 "So I will send fire upon Moab And it will consume the citadels of Kerioth; And Moab will die amid tumult, With war cries and the sound of a trumpet.(nasb) Amo 2:2 Et mittam ignem in Moab, et devorabit ædes Carioth: et morietur in sonitu Moab, in clangore tubæ.(vulgate) Amós 2:2 Y meteré fuego en Moab, y consumirá los palacios de Queriot; y morirá Moab en alboroto, en estrépito y sonido de trompeta.(E) Amos 2:2 J'enverrai le feu dans Moab, Et il dévorera les palais de Kerijoth; Et Moab périra au milieu du tumulte, Au milieu des cris de guerre et du bruit de la trompette.(F) Amo 2:2 sondern ich will ein Feuer schicken nach Moab, das soll die Paläste zu Karioth verzehren; und Moab soll sterben im Getümmel und Geschrei und Posaunenhall.(D) Amo 2:2 καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ πῦρ ἐπὶ Μωαβ καὶ καταφάγεται θεμέλια τῶν πόλεων αὐτῆς καὶ ἀποθανεῖται ἐν ἀδυναμίᾳ Μωαβ μετὰ κραυγῆς καὶ μετὰ φωνῆς σάλπιγγος(lxx) Amo 2:2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, And it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth; Moab shall die with tumult, With shouting and trumpet sound.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:3 ============ Amo 2:3 "I will also cut off the judge from her midst And slay all her princes with him," says the Lord.(nasb) Amo 2:3 Et disperdam judicem de medio ejus, et omnes principes ejus interficiam cum eo, dicit Dominus.]~(vulgate) Amós 2:3 Y quitaré el juez de en medio de él, y mataré con él a todos sus príncipes, dice Jehová.(E) Amos 2:3 J'exterminerai de son sein le juge, Et je tuerai tous ses chefs avec lui, dit l'Eternel.(F) Amo 2:3 Und ich will den Richter unter ihnen ausrotten und alle ihre Fürsten samt ihm erwürgen, spricht der HERR.(D) Amo 2:3 καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω κριτὴν ἐξ αὐτῆς καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἄρχοντας αὐτῆς ἀποκτενῶ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ λέγει κύριος(lxx) Amo 2:3 And I will cut off the judge from its midst, And slay all its princes with him," Says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:4 ============ Amo 2:4 Thus says the Lord, "For three transgressions of Judah and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they rejected the law of the Lord And have not kept His statutes; Their lies also have led them astray, Those after which their fathers walked.(nasb) Amo 2:4 [Hæc dicit Dominus: Super tribus sceleribus Juda, et super quatuor non convertam eum, eo quod abjecerit legem Domini et mandata ejus non custodierit: deceperant enim eos idola sua, post quæ abierant patres eorum.(vulgate) Amós 2:4 Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Judá, y por el cuarto, no revocaré [su castigo]; porque despreciaron la ley de Jehová, y no guardaron sus ordenanzas; y los hicieron errar sus mentiras, en pos de las cuales anduvieron sus padres.(E) Amos 2:4 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: A cause de trois crimes de Juda, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'ils ont méprisé la loi de l'Eternel Et qu'ils n'ont pas gardé ses ordonnances, Parce qu'ils ont été égarés par les idoles mensongères Après lesquelles leurs pères ont marché.(F) Amo 2:4 So spricht der HERR: Um drei und vier Frevel willen Juda's will ich sein nicht schonen, darum daß sie des HERRN Gesetz verachten und seine Rechte nicht halten und lassen sich ihre Lügen verführen, welchen ihre Väter nachgefolgt sind;(D) Amo 2:4 τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις υἱῶν Ιουδα καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτόν ἕνεκα τοῦ ἀπώσασθαι αὐτοὺς τὸν νόμον κυρίου καὶ τὰ προστάγματα αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐφυλάξαντο καὶ ἐπλάνησεν αὐτοὺς τὰ μάταια αὐτῶν ἃ ἐποίησαν οἷς ἐξηκολούθησαν οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν ὀπίσω αὐτῶν(lxx) Amo 2:4 Thus says the Lord: "For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they have despised the law of the Lord, And have not kept His commandments. Their lies lead them astray, Lies which their fathers followed.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:5 ============ Amo 2:5 "So I will send fire upon Judah And it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem."(nasb) Amo 2:5 Et mittam ignem in Juda, et devorabit ædes Jerusalem.(vulgate) Amós 2:5 Meteré por tanto fuego en Judá, el cual consumirá los palacios de Jerusalén.(E) Amos 2:5 J'enverrai le feu dans Juda, Et il dévorera les palais de Jérusalem.(F) Amo 2:5 sondern ich will ein Feuer nach Juda schicken, das soll die Paläste zu Jerusalem verzehren.(D) Amo 2:5 καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ πῦρ ἐπὶ Ιουδαν καὶ καταφάγεται θεμέλια Ιερουσαλημ(lxx) Amo 2:5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, And it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem."(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:6 ============ Amo 2:6 Thus says the Lord, "For three transgressions of Israel and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for money And the needy for a pair of sandals.(nasb) Amo 2:6 Hæc dicit Dominus: Super tribus sceleribus Israël, et super quatuor non convertam eum, pro eo quod vendiderit pro argento justum, et pauperem pro calceamentis.(vulgate) Amós 2:6 Así dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Israel, y por el cuarto, no revocaré [su castigo]; porque vendieron por dinero al justo, y al pobre por un par de zapatos:(E) Amos 2:6 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: A cause de trois crimes d'Israël, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'ils ont vendu le juste pour de l'argent, Et le pauvre pour une paire de souliers.(F) Amo 2:6 So spricht der HERR: Um drei und vier Frevel willen Israels will ich ihrer nicht schonen, darum daß sie die Gerechten um Geld und die Armen um ein Paar Schuhe verkaufen.(D) Amo 2:6 τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτόν ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ἀπέδοντο ἀργυρίου δίκαιον καὶ πένητα ἕνεκεν ὑποδημάτων(lxx) Amo 2:6 Thus says the Lord: "For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for silver, And the poor for a pair of sandals.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:7 ============ Amo 2:7 "These who pant after the very dust of the earth on the head of the helpless Also turn aside the way of the humble; And a man and his father resort to the same girl In order to profane My holy name.(nasb) Amo 2:7 Qui conterunt super pulverem terræ capita pauperum, et viam humilium declinant: et filius ac pater ejus ierunt ad puellam, ut violarent nomen sanctum meum.(vulgate) Amós 2:7 Que codician [aun] el polvo de la tierra sobre la cabeza de los pobres, y tuercen el camino de los humildes; y el hombre y su padre entran a la misma joven, profanando mi santo nombre.(E) Amos 2:7 Ils aspirent à voir la poussière de la terre sur la tête des misérables, Et ils violent le droit des malheureux. Le fils et le père vont vers la même fille, Afin de profaner mon saint nom.(F) Amo 2:7 Sie treten den Kopf der Armen in den Kot und hindern den Weg der Elenden. Es geht Sohn und Vater zur Dirne, daß sie meinen heiligen Namen entheiligen.(D) Amo 2:7 τὰ πατοῦντα ἐπὶ τὸν χοῦν τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐκονδύλιζον εἰς κεφαλὰς πτωχῶν καὶ ὁδὸν ταπεινῶν ἐξέκλιναν καὶ υἱὸς καὶ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ εἰσεπορεύοντο πρὸς τὴν αὐτὴν παιδίσκην ὅπως βεβηλώσωσιν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶν(lxx) Amo 2:7 They pant after the dust of the earth which is on the head of the poor, And pervert the way of the humble. A man and his father go in to the same girl, To defile My holy name.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:8 ============ Amo 2:8 "On garments taken as pledges they stretch out beside every altar, And in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined.(nasb) Amo 2:8 Et super vestimentis pignoratis accubuerunt juxta omne altare, et vinum damnatorum bibebant in domo Dei sui.(vulgate) Amós 2:8 Y sobre las ropas empeñadas se acuestan junto a cualquier altar; y beben el vino de los condenados en la casa de sus dioses.(E) Amos 2:8 Ils s'étendent près de chaque autel sur des vêtements pris en gage, Et ils boivent dans la maison de leurs dieux le vin de ceux qu'ils condamnent.(F) Amo 2:8 Und bei allen Altären schlemmen sie auf den verpfändeten Kleidern und trinken Wein in ihrer Götter Hause von den Gebüßten.(D) Amo 2:8 καὶ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν δεσμεύοντες σχοινίοις παραπετάσματα ἐποίουν ἐχόμενα τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ οἶνον ἐκ συκοφαντιῶν ἔπινον ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶν(lxx) Amo 2:8 They lie down by every altar on clothes taken in pledge, And drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:9 ============ Amo 2:9 "Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, Though his height was like the height of cedars And he was strong as the oaks; I even destroyed his fruit above and his root below.(nasb) Amo 2:9 Ego autem exterminavi Amorrhæum a facie eorum, cujus altitudo, cedrorum altitudo ejus, et fortis ipse quasi quercus; et contrivi fructum ejus desuper, et radices ejus subter.(vulgate) Amós 2:9 Y yo destruí delante de ellos al amorreo, cuya altura [era] como la altura de los cedros, y fuerte como un alcornoque; y destruí su fruto arriba, y sus raíces abajo.(E) Amos 2:9 Et pourtant j'ai détruit devant eux les Amoréens, Dont la hauteur égalait celle des cèdres, Et la force celle des chênes; J'ai détruit leurs fruits en haut, Et leurs racines en bas.(F) Amo 2:9 Und ich habe doch den Amoriter vor ihnen her vertilgt, der so hoch war wie die Zedern und seine Macht wie die Eichen; und ich vertilgte oben seine Frucht und unten seine Wurzel.(D) Amo 2:9 ἐγὼ δὲ ἐξῆρα τὸν Αμορραῖον ἐκ προσώπου αὐτῶν οὗ ἦν καθὼς ὕψος κέδρου τὸ ὕψος αὐτοῦ καὶ ἰσχυρὸς ἦν ὡς δρῦς καὶ ἐξῆρα τὸν καρπὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπάνωθεν καὶ τὰς ῥίζας αὐτοῦ ὑποκάτωθεν(lxx) Amo 2:9 "Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, Whose height was like the height of the cedars, And he was as strong as the oaks; Yet I destroyed his fruit above And his roots beneath.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:10 ============ Amo 2:10 "It was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, And I led you in the wilderness forty years That you might take possession of the land of the Amorite.(nasb) Amo 2:10 Ego sum qui ascendere vos feci de terra Ægypti, et duxi vos in deserto quadraginta annis, ut possideretis terram Amorrhæi.(vulgate) Amós 2:10 Y yo os hice a vosotros subir de la tierra de Egipto, y os traje por el desierto cuarenta años, para que poseyeseis la tierra del amorreo.(E) Amos 2:10 Et pourtant je vous ai fait monter du pays d'Egypte, Et je vous ai conduits quarante ans dans le désert, Pour vous mettre en possession du pays des Amoréens.(F) Amo 2:10 Auch habe ich euch aus Ägyptenland geführt und vierzig Jahre in der Wüste geleitet, daß ihr der Amoriter Land besäßet.(D) Amo 2:10 καὶ ἐγὼ ἀνήγαγον ὑμᾶς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ περιήγαγον ὑμᾶς ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη τοῦ κατακληρονομῆσαι τὴν γῆν τῶν Αμορραίων(lxx) Amo 2:10 Also it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, And led you forty years through the wilderness, To possess the land of the Amorite.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:11 ============ Amo 2:11 "Then I raised up some of your sons to be prophets And some of your young men to be Nazirites. Numquid non ita est, filii Israël? dicit Dominus.(vulgate) Amós 2:11 Y levanté de vuestros hijos para profetas, y de vuestros jóvenes para que fuesen nazareos. ¿No [es] esto así, dice Jehová, hijos de Israel?(E) Amos 2:11 J'ai suscité parmi vos fils des prophètes, Et parmi vos jeunes hommes des nazaréens. N'en est-il pas ainsi, enfants d'Israël? dit l'Eternel...(F) Amo 2:11 Und habe aus euren Kindern Propheten auferweckt und Gottgeweihte aus euren Jünglingen. Et aux prophètes vous avez donné cet ordre: Ne prophétisez pas!(F) Amo 2:12 So gebt ihr den Geweihten Wein zu trinken und gebietet den Propheten und sprecht: Ihr sollt nicht weissagen!(D) Amo 2:12 καὶ ἐποτίζετε τοὺς ἡγιασμένους οἶνον καὶ τοῖς προφήταις ἐνετέλλεσθε λέγοντες οὐ μὴ προφητεύσητε(lxx) Amo 2:12 "But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink, And commanded the prophets saying, 'Do not prophesy!'(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:13 ============ Amo 2:13 "Behold, I am weighted down beneath you As a wagon is weighted down when filled with sheaves.(nasb) Amo 2:13 Ecce ego stridebo subter vos, sicut stridet plaustrum onustum fœno.(vulgate) Amós 2:13 Pues he aquí, yo os apretaré en vuestro lugar, como se aprieta el carro lleno de gavillas;(E) Amos 2:13 Voici, je vous écraserai, Comme foule la terre un chariot chargé de gerbes.(F) Amo 2:13 Siehe, ich will's unter euch knarren machen, wie ein Wagen voll Garben knarrt,(D) Amo 2:13 διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ κυλίω ὑποκάτω ὑμῶν ὃν τρόπον κυλίεται ἡ ἅμαξα ἡ γέμουσα καλάμης(lxx) Amo 2:13 "Behold, I am weighed down by you, As a cart full of sheaves is weighed down.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:14 ============ Amo 2:14 "Flight will perish from the swift, And the stalwart will not strengthen his power, Nor the mighty man save his life.(nasb) Amo 2:14 Et peribit fuga a veloce, et fortis non obtinebit virtutem suam, et robustus non salvabit animam suam:(vulgate) Amós 2:14 y la huida perecerá del ligero, y al fuerte no le ayudará su fuerza, ni el valiente librará su vida;(E) Amos 2:14 Celui qui est agile ne pourra fuir, Celui qui a de la force ne pourra s'en servir, Et l'homme vaillant ne sauvera pas sa vie;(F) Amo 2:14 daß der, so schnell ist, soll nicht entfliehen noch der Starke etwas vermögen und der Mächtige nicht soll sein Leben retten können;(D) Amo 2:14 καὶ ἀπολεῖται φυγὴ ἐκ δρομέως καὶ ὁ κραταιὸς οὐ μὴ κρατήσῃ τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ μαχητὴς οὐ μὴ σώσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ(lxx) Amo 2:14 Therefore flight shall perish from the swift, The strong shall not strengthen his power, Nor shall the mighty deliver himself;(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:15 ============ Amo 2:15 "He who grasps the bow will not stand his ground, The swift of foot will not escape, Nor will he who rides the horse save his life.(nasb) Amo 2:15 et tenens arcum non stabit, et velox pedibus suis non salvabitur, et ascensor equi non salvabit animam suam:(vulgate) Amós 2:15 y el que toma el arco no resistirá, ni escapará el ligero de pies, ni el que cabalga en caballo salvará su vida.(E) Amos 2:15 Celui qui manie l'arc ne résistera pas, Celui qui a les pieds légers n'échappera pas, Et le cavalier ne sauvera pas sa vie;(F) Amo 2:15 und die Bogenschützen sollen nicht bestehen, und der schnell laufen kann, soll nicht entlaufen, und der da reitet, soll sein Leben nicht erretten;(D) Amo 2:15 καὶ ὁ τοξότης οὐ μὴ ὑποστῇ καὶ ὁ ὀξὺς τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ διασωθῇ οὐδὲ ὁ ἱππεὺς οὐ μὴ σώσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ(lxx) Amo 2:15 He shall not stand who handles the bow, The swift of foot shall not escape, Nor shall he who rides a horse deliver himself.(nkjv) ======= Amos 2:16 ============ Amo 2:16 "Even the bravest among the warriors will flee naked in that day," declares the Lord.(nasb) Amo 2:16 et robustus corde inter fortes nudus fugiet in illa die, dicit Dominus.](vulgate) Amós 2:16 El esforzado entre los valientes huirá desnudo aquel día, dice Jehová.(E) Amos 2:16 Le plus courageux des guerriers S'enfuira nu dans ce jour-là, dit l'Eternel.(F) Amo 2:16 und der unter den Starken der mannhafteste ist, soll nackt entfliehen müssen zu der Zeit, spricht der HERR.(D) Amo 2:16 καὶ εὑρήσει τὴν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ ἐν δυναστείαις ὁ γυμνὸς διώξεται ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ λέγει κύριος(lxx) Amo 2:16 The most courageous men of might Shall flee naked in that day," Says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Amos 3:1 ============ top of the page
