Today's Date: ======= Amos 6:1 ============ Amo 6:1 Woe to those who are at ease in Zion And to those who feel secure in the mountain of Samaria, The distinguished men of the foremost of nations, To whom the house of Israel comes.(nasb) Amo 6:1 [Væ qui opulenti estis in Sion, et confiditis in monte Samariæ: optimates capita populorum, ingredientes pompatice domum Israël!(vulgate) Amós 6:1 ¡Ay de los reposados en Sión, y de los confiados en el monte de Samaria, [los que son] llamados príncipes de las naciones, ante quienes acude la casa de Israel!(E) Amos 6:1 Malheur à ceux qui vivent tranquilles dans Sion, Et en sécurité sur la montagne de Samarie, A ces grands de la première des nations, Auprès desquels va la maison d'Israël!...(F) Amo 6:1 Weh den Stolzen zu Zion und denen, die sich auf den Berg Samarias verlassen, den Vornehmsten des Erstlings unter den Völkern, und zu denen das Haus Israel kommt!(D) Amo 6:1 οὐαὶ τοῖς ἐξουθενοῦσιν Σιων καὶ τοῖς πεποιθόσιν ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος Σαμαρείας ἀπετρύγησαν ἀρχὰς ἐθνῶν καὶ εἰσῆλθον αὐτοί οἶκος τοῦ Ισραηλ(lxx) Amo 6:1 Woe to you who are at ease in Zion, And trust in Mount Samaria, Notable persons in the chief nation, To whom the house of Israel comes!(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:2 ============ Amo 6:2 Go over to Calneh and look, And go from there to Hamath the great, Then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are they better than these kingdoms, Or is their territory greater than yours?(nasb) Amo 6:2 Transite in Chalane, et videte, et ite inde in Emath magnam, et descendite in Geth Palæstinorum, et ad optima quæque regna horum: si latior terminus eorum termino vestro est.(vulgate) Amós 6:2 Pasad a Calne, y mirad; y de allí id a la gran Hamat; descended luego a Gat de los filisteos; ved si son aquellos reinos mejores que estos reinos, si su término es mayor que vuestro término.(E) Amos 6:2 Passez à Calné et voyez, Allez de là jusqu'à Hamath la grande, Et descendez à Gath chez les Philistins: Ces villes sont-elles plus prospères que vos deux royaumes, Et leur territoire est-il plus étendu que le vôtre?...(F) Amo 6:2 Gehet hin gen Kalne und schauet, und von da gen Hamath, die große Stadt, und zieht hinab gen Gath der Philister, welche bessere Königreiche gewesen sind denn diese und ihre Grenze weiter denn eure Grenze.(D) Amo 6:2 διάβητε πάντες καὶ ἴδετε καὶ διέλθατε ἐκεῖθεν εἰς Εμαθ Ραββα καὶ κατάβητε ἐκεῖθεν εἰς Γεθ ἀλλοφύλων τὰς κρατίστας ἐκ πασῶν τῶν βασιλειῶν τούτων εἰ πλέονα τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἐστιν τῶν ὑμετέρων ὁρίων(lxx) Amo 6:2 Go over to Calneh and see; And from there go to Hamath the great; Then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Or is their territory greater than your territory?(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:3 ============ Amo 6:3 Do you put off the day of calamity, And would you bring near the seat of violence?(nasb) Amo 6:3 Qui separati estis in diem malum, et appropinquatis solio iniquitatis;(vulgate) Amós 6:3 Vosotros que dilatáis el día malo, y acercáis la silla de la iniquidad.(E) Amos 6:3 Vous croyez éloigné le jour du malheur, Et vous faites approcher le règne de la violence.(F) Amo 6:3 Die ihr euch weit vom bösen Tag achtet und trachtet immer nach Frevelregiment,(D) Amo 6:3 οἱ ἐρχόμενοι εἰς ἡμέραν κακήν οἱ ἐγγίζοντες καὶ ἐφαπτόμενοι σαββάτων ψευδῶν(lxx) Amo 6:3 Woe to you who put far off the day of doom, Who cause the seat of violence to come near;(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:4 ============ Amo 6:4 Those who recline on beds of ivory And sprawl on their couches, And eat lambs from the flock And calves from the midst of the stall,(nasb) Amo 6:4 qui dormitis in lectis eburneis, et lascivitis in stratis vestris; qui comeditis agnum de grege, et vitulos de medio armenti;(vulgate) Amós 6:4 Duermen en camas de marfil, y se extienden sobre sus lechos; y comen los corderos del rebaño, y los becerros de en medio del engordadero;(E) Amos 6:4 Ils reposent sur des lits d'ivoire, Ils sont mollement étendus sur leurs couches; Ils mangent les agneaux du troupeau, Les veaux mis à l'engrais.(F) Amo 6:4 und schlaft auf elfenbeinernen Lagern und prangt auf euren Ruhebetten; ihr eßt die Lämmer aus der Herde und die gemästeten Kälber,(D) Amo 6:4 οἱ καθεύδοντες ἐπὶ κλινῶν ἐλεφαντίνων καὶ κατασπαταλῶντες ἐπὶ ταῖς στρωμναῖς αὐτῶν καὶ ἔσθοντες ἐρίφους ἐκ ποιμνίων καὶ μοσχάρια ἐκ μέσου βουκολίων γαλαθηνά(lxx) Amo 6:4 Who lie on beds of ivory, Stretch out on your couches, Eat lambs from the flock And calves from the midst of the stall;(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:5 ============ Amo 6:5 Who improvise to the sound of the harp, And like David have composed songs for themselves,(nasb) Amo 6:5 qui canitis ad vocem psalterii, sicut David putaverunt se habere vasa cantici,(vulgate) Amós 6:5 gorjean al son de la flauta, e inventan instrumentos de música, como David;(E) Amos 6:5 Ils extravaguent au son du luth, Ils se croient habiles comme David sur les instruments de musique.(F) Amo 6:5 und spielt auf dem Psalter und erdichtet euch Lieder wie David,(D) Amo 6:5 οἱ ἐπικροτοῦντες πρὸς τὴν φωνὴν τῶν ὀργάνων ὡς ἑστῶτα ἐλογίσαντο καὶ οὐχ ὡς φεύγοντα(lxx) Amo 6:5 Who sing idly to the sound of stringed instruments, And invent for yourselves musical instruments like David;(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:6 ============ Amo 6:6 Who drink wine from sacrificial bowls While they anoint themselves with the finest of oils, Yet they have not grieved over the ruin of Joseph.(nasb) Amo 6:6 bibentes vinum in phialis, et optimo unguento delibuti, et nihil patiebantur super contritione Joseph.(vulgate) Amós 6:6 beben vino en tazones, y se ungen con los ungüentos más preciosos; y no se afligen por el quebrantamiento de José.(E) Amos 6:6 Ils boivent le vin dans de larges coupes, Ils s'oignent avec la meilleure huile, Et ils ne s'attristent pas sur la ruine de Joseph!(F) Amo 6:6 und trinkt Wein aus den Schalen und salbt euch mit Balsam und bekümmert euch nicht um den Schaden Josephs.(D) Amo 6:6 οἱ πίνοντες τὸν διυλισμένον οἶνον καὶ τὰ πρῶτα μύρα χριόμενοι καὶ οὐκ ἔπασχον οὐδὲν ἐπὶ τῇ συντριβῇ Ιωσηφ(lxx) Amo 6:6 Who drink wine from bowls, And anoint yourselves with the best ointments, But are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:7 ============ Amo 6:7 Therefore, they will now go into exile at the head of the exiles, And the sprawlers' banqueting will pass away.(nasb) Amo 6:7 Quapropter nunc migrabunt in capite transmigrantium, et auferetur factio lascivientium.(vulgate) Amós 6:7 Por tanto, ahora irán cautivos, a la cabeza de los que van en cautiverio, y el banquete de los disolutos será removido.(E) Amos 6:7 C'est pourquoi ils seront emmenés à la tête des captifs; Et les cris de joie de ces voluptueux cesseront.(F) Amo 6:7 Darum sollen sie nun vornan gehen unter denen, die gefangen weggeführt werden, und soll das Schlemmen der Pranger aufhören.(D) Amo 6:7 διὰ τοῦτο νῦν αἰχμάλωτοι ἔσονται ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς δυναστῶν καὶ ἐξαρθήσεται χρεμετισμὸς ἵππων ἐξ Εφραιμ(lxx) Amo 6:7 Therefore they shall now go captive as the first of the captives, And those who recline at banquets shall be removed.(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:8 ============ Amo 6:8 The Lord God has sworn by Himself, the Lord God of hosts has declared: "I loathe the arrogance of Jacob, And detest his citadels; Therefore I will deliver up the city and all it contains."(nasb) Amo 6:8 Juravit Dominus Deus in anima sua, dicit Dominus Deus exercituum: Detestor ego superbiam Jacob, et domos ejus odi, et tradam civitatem cum habitatoribus suis.(vulgate) Amós 6:8 Jehová el Señor juró por sí mismo, Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos ha dicho: Aborrezco la grandeza de Jacob, y detesto sus palacios; por tanto, entregaré la ciudad y cuanto hay en ella.(E) Amos 6:8 Le Seigneur, l'Eternel, l'a juré par lui-même; L'Eternel, le Dieu des armées, a dit: J'ai en horreur l'orgueil de Jacob, Et je hais ses palais; Je livrerai la ville et tout ce qu'elle renferme.(F) Amo 6:8 Denn der HERR HERR hat geschworen bei seiner Seele, spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth: Mich verdrießt die Hoffart Jakobs, und ich bin ihren Palästen gram; und ich will auch die Stadt übergeben mit allem, was darin ist.(D) Amo 6:8 ὅτι ὤμοσεν κύριος καθ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ διότι βδελύσσομαι ἐγὼ πᾶσαν τὴν ὕβριν Ιακωβ καὶ τὰς χώρας αὐτοῦ μεμίσηκα καὶ ἐξαρῶ πόλιν σὺν πᾶσιν τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν αὐτήν(lxx) Amo 6:8 The Lord God has sworn by Himself, The Lord God of hosts says: "I abhor the pride of Jacob, And hate his palaces; Therefore I will deliver up the city And all that is in it."(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:9 ============ Amo 6:9 And it will be, if ten men are left in one house, they will die.(nasb) Amo 6:9 Quod si reliqui fuerint decem viri in domo una, et ipsi morientur.(vulgate) Amós 6:9 Y acontecerá que si diez hombres quedaren en una casa, morirán.(E) Amos 6:9 Et s'il reste dix hommes dans une maison, ils mourront.(F) Amo 6:9 Und wenngleich zehn Männer in einem Hause übrigbleiben, sollen sie doch sterben,(D) Amo 6:9 καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν ὑπολειφθῶσιν δέκα ἄνδρες ἐν οἰκίᾳ μιᾷ καὶ ἀποθανοῦνται καὶ ὑπολειφθήσονται οἱ κατάλοιποι(lxx) Amo 6:9 Then it shall come to pass, that if ten men remain in one house, they shall die.(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:10 ============ Amo 6:10 Then one's uncle, or his undertaker, will lift him up to carry out his bones from the house, and he will say to the one who is in the innermost part of the house, "Is anyone else with you?" And that one will say, "No one." Then he will answer, "Keep quiet. For the name of the Lord is not to be mentioned."(nasb) Amo 6:10 Et tollet eum propinquus suus, et comburet eum, ut efferat ossa de domo; et dicet ei, qui in penetralibus domus est: Numquid adhuc est penes te?(vulgate) Amós 6:10 Y su tío tomará a cada uno, y le quemará para sacar los huesos de casa; y dirá al que estará en los rincones de la casa: ¿[Hay] aún [alguno] contigo? Y dirá: No. Entonces dirá [aquél]: Calla que no podemos hacer mención del nombre de Jehová.(E) Amos 6:10 Lorsqu'un parent prendra un mort pour le brûler Et qu'il enlèvera de la maison les ossements, Il dira à celui qui est au fond de la maison: Y a-t-il encore quelqu'un avec toi? Et cet homme répondra: Personne... Et l'autre dira: Silence! Ce n'est pas le moment de prononcer le nom de l'Eternel.(F) Amo 6:10 daß einen jeglichen sein Vetter und der ihn verbrennen will, nehmen und die Gebeine aus dem Hause tragen muß und sagen zu dem, der in den Gemächern des Hauses ist: Sind ihrer auch noch mehr da? und der wird antworten: Sie sind alle dahin! Und er wird sagen: Sei still! denn man darf des Namens des HERRN nicht gedenken.(D) Amo 6:10 καὶ λήμψονται οἱ οἰκεῖοι αὐτῶν καὶ παραβιῶνται τοῦ ἐξενέγκαι τὰ ὀστᾶ αὐτῶν ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου καὶ ἐρεῖ τοῖς προεστηκόσι τῆς οἰκίας εἰ ἔτι ὑπάρχει παρὰ σοί καὶ ἐρεῖ οὐκέτι καὶ ἐρεῖ σίγα ἕνεκα τοῦ μὴ ὀνομάσαι τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου(lxx) Amo 6:10 And when a relative of the dead, with one who will burn the bodies, picks up the bodies to take them out of the house, he will say to one inside the house, "Are there any more with you?" Then someone will say, "None." And he will say, "Hold your tongue! For we dare not mention the name of the Lord."(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:11 ============ Amo 6:11 For behold, the Lord is going to command that the great house be smashed to pieces and the small house to fragments.(nasb) Amo 6:11 Et respondebit: Finis est. Et dicet ei: Tace, et non recorderis nominis Domini.(vulgate) Amós 6:11 Porque he aquí, Jehová mandará, y herirá con hendiduras la casa mayor, y la casa menor con aberturas.(E) Amos 6:11 Car voici, l'Eternel ordonne: Il fera tomber en ruines la grande maison, Et en débris la petite maison.(F) Amo 6:11 Denn siehe, der HERR hat geboten, daß man die großen Häuser schlagen soll, daß sie Risse gewinnen, und die kleinen Häuser, daß sie Lücken gewinnen.(D) Amo 6:11 διότι ἰδοὺ κύριος ἐντέλλεται καὶ πατάξει τὸν οἶκον τὸν μέγαν θλάσμασιν καὶ τὸν οἶκον τὸν μικρὸν ῥάγμασιν(lxx) Amo 6:11 For behold, the Lord gives a command: He will break the great house into bits, And the little house into pieces.(nkjv) ======= Amos 6:12 ============ Amo 6:12 Do horses run on rocks? Or does one plow them with oxen? Yet you have turned justice into poison And the fruit of righteousness into wormwood,(nasb) Amo 6:12 Quia ecce Dominus mandabit, et percutiet domum majorem ruinis, et domum minorem scissionibus.(vulgate) Amós 6:12 ¿Correrán los caballos por las peñas? ¿Ararán [en ellas] con bueyes? Porque vosotros habéis tornado el juicio en veneno, y el fruto de justicia en ajenjo.(E) Amos 6:12 Est-ce que les chevaux courent sur un rocher, Est-ce qu'on y laboure avec des boeufs, Pour que vous ayez changé la droiture en poison, Et le fruit de la justice en absinthe?(F) Amo 6:12 Wer kann mit Rossen rennen oder mit Ochsen pflügen auf Felsen? Denn ihr wandelt das Recht in Galle und die Frucht der Gerechtigkeit in Wermut(D) Amo 6:12 εἰ διώξονται ἐν πέτραις ἵπποι εἰ παρασιωπήσονται ἐν θηλείαις ὅτι ὑμεῖς ἐξεστρέψατε εἰς θυμὸν κρίμα καὶ καρπὸν δικαιοσύνης εἰς πικρίαν(lxx) Amo 6:12 Do horses run on rocks?
