Today's Date: ======= Amos 9:1 ============ Amo 9:1 I saw the Lord standing beside the altar, and He said, "Smite the capitals so that the thresholds will shake, And break them on the heads of them all! Then I will slay the rest of them with the sword; They will not have a fugitive who will flee, Or a refugee who will escape.(nasb) Amo 9:1 Vidi Dominum stantem super altare, et dixit: [Percute cardinem, et commoveantur superliminaria: avaritia enim in capite omnium, et novissimum eorum in gladio interficiam; non erit fuga eis. Fugient, et non salvabitur ex eis qui fugerit.(vulgate) Amós 9:1 Vi al Señor que estaba sobre el altar, y dijo: Hiere el umbral, y estremézcanse las puertas: y córtales en piezas la cabeza de todos; y el postrero de ellos mataré a espada; no habrá de ellos quien se fugue, ni quien escape.(E) Amos 9:1 Je vis le Seigneur qui se tenait sur l'autel. Et il dit: Frappe les chapiteaux et que les seuils s'ébranlent, Et brise-les sur leurs têtes à tous! Je ferai périr le reste par l'épée. Aucun d'eux ne pourra se sauver en fuyant, Aucun d'eux n'échappera.(F) Amo 9:1 Ich sah den HERRN auf dem Altar stehen, und er sprach: Schlage an den Knauf, daß die Pfosten beben und die Stücke ihnen allen auf den Kopf fallen; und ihre Nachkommen will ich mit dem Schwert erwürgen, daß keiner entfliehen noch irgend einer entgehen soll.(D) Amo 9:1 εἶδον τὸν κύριον ἐφεστῶτα ἐπὶ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ εἶπεν πάταξον ἐπὶ τὸ ἱλαστήριον καὶ σεισθήσεται τὰ πρόπυλα καὶ διάκοψον εἰς κεφαλὰς πάντων καὶ τοὺς καταλοίπους αὐτῶν ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ ἀποκτενῶ οὐ μὴ διαφύγῃ ἐξ αὐτῶν φεύγων καὶ οὐ μὴ διασωθῇ ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀνασῳζόμενος(lxx) Amo 9:1 I saw the Lord standing by the altar, and He said: "Strike the doorposts, that the thresholds may shake, And break them on the heads of them all. I will slay the last of them with the sword. He who flees from them shall not get away, And he who escapes from them shall not be delivered.(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:2 ============ Amo 9:2 "Though they dig into Sheol, From there will My hand take them; And though they ascend to heaven, From there will I bring them down.(nasb) Amo 9:2 Si descenderint usque ad infernum, inde manus mea educet eos; et si ascenderint usque in cælum, inde detraham eos.(vulgate) Amós 9:2 Aunque caven hasta el infierno, de allá los tomará mi mano; y si subieren hasta el cielo, de allá los haré descender.(E) Amos 9:2 S'ils pénètrent dans le séjour des morts, Ma main les en arrachera; S'ils montent aux cieux, Je les en ferai descendre.(F) Amo 9:2 Und wenn sie sich gleich in die Hölle vergrüben, soll sie doch meine Hand von dort holen; und wenn sie gen Himmel führen, will ich sie doch herunterstoßen;(D) Amo 9:2 ἐὰν κατορυγῶσιν εἰς ᾅδου ἐκεῖθεν ἡ χείρ μου ἀνασπάσει αὐτούς καὶ ἐὰν ἀναβῶσιν εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν ἐκεῖθεν κατάξω αὐτούς(lxx) Amo 9:2 "Though they dig into hell, From there my hand shall take them; Though they climb up to heaven, From there I will bring them down;(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:3 ============ Amo 9:3 "Though they hide on the summit of Carmel, I will search them out and take them from there; And though they conceal themselves from My sight on the floor of the sea, From there I will command the serpent and it will bite them.(nasb) Amo 9:3 Et si absconditi fuerint in vertice Carmeli, inde scrutans auferam eos; et si celaverint se ab oculis meis in profundo maris, ibi mandabo serpenti, et mordebit eos.(vulgate) Amós 9:3 Y si se escondieren en la cumbre del Carmelo, allí los buscaré y los tomaré; y aunque se escondieren de delante de mis ojos en lo profundo del mar, allí mandaré a la serpiente y los morderá.(E) Amos 9:3 S'ils se cachent au sommet du Carmel, Je les y chercherai et je les saisirai; S'ils se dérobent à mes regards dans le fond de la mer, Là j'ordonnerai au serpent de les mordre.(F) Amo 9:3 und wenn sie sich gleich versteckten oben auf dem Berge Karmel, will ich sie doch daselbst suchen und herabholen; und wenn sie sich vor meinen Augen verbürgen im Grunde des Meeres, so will ich doch den Schlangen befehlen, die sie daselbst stechen sollen;(D) Amo 9:3 ἐὰν ἐγκρυβῶσιν εἰς τὴν κορυφὴν τοῦ Καρμήλου ἐκεῖθεν ἐξερευνήσω καὶ λήμψομαι αὐτούς καὶ ἐὰν καταδύσωσιν ἐξ ὀφθαλμῶν μου εἰς τὰ βάθη τῆς θαλάσσης ἐκεῖ ἐντελοῦμαι τῷ δράκοντι καὶ δήξεται αὐτούς(lxx) Amo 9:3 And though they hide themselves on top of Carmel, From there I will search and take them; Though they hide from My sight at the bottom of the sea, From there I will command the serpent, and it shall bite them;(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:4 ============ Amo 9:4 "And though they go into captivity before their enemies, From there I will command the sword that it slay them, And I will set My eyes against them for evil and not for good."(nasb) Amo 9:4 Et si abierint in captivitatem coram inimicis suis, ibi mandabo gladio, et occidet eos: et ponam oculos meos super eos in malum, et non in bonum.(vulgate) Amós 9:4 Y si fueren en cautiverio, delante de sus enemigos, allí mandaré la espada y los matará; y pondré sobre ellos mis ojos para mal, y no para bien.(E) Amos 9:4 S'ils vont en captivité devant leurs ennemis, Là j'ordonnerai à l'épée de les faire périr; Je dirigerai contre eux mes regards Pour faire du mal et non du bien.(F) Amo 9:4 und wenn sie vor ihren Feinde hin gefangen gingen, so will ich doch dem Schwert befehlen, daß es sie daselbst erwürgen soll. Denn ich will meine Augen über sie halten zum Unglück und nicht zum Guten.(D) Amo 9:4 καὶ ἐὰν πορευθῶσιν ἐν αἰχμαλωσίᾳ πρὸ προσώπου τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν ἐκεῖ ἐντελοῦμαι τῇ ῥομφαίᾳ καὶ ἀποκτενεῖ αὐτούς καὶ στηριῶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς εἰς κακὰ καὶ οὐκ εἰς ἀγαθά(lxx) Amo 9:4 Though they go into captivity before their enemies, From there I will command the sword, And it shall slay them. I will set My eyes on them for harm and not for good."(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:5 ============ Amo 9:5 The Lord God of hosts, The One who touches the land so that it melts, And all those who dwell in it mourn, And all of it rises up like the Nile And subsides like the Nile of Egypt;(nasb) Amo 9:5 Et Dominus Deus exercituum, qui tangit terram, et tabescet, et lugebunt omnes habitantes in ea: et ascendet sicut rivus omnis, et defluet sicut fluvius Ægypti.(vulgate) Amós 9:5 El Señor Jehová de los ejércitos es el que toca [esta] tierra, y se derretirá, y llorarán todos los que en ella moran; y subirá toda como un río, y menguará luego como el río de Egipto.(E) Amos 9:5 Le Seigneur, l'Eternel des armées, touche la terre, et elle tremble, Et tous ses habitants sont dans le deuil; Elle monte tout entière comme le fleuve, Et elle s'affaisse comme le fleuve d'Egypte.(F) Amo 9:5 Denn der HERR, HERR Zebaoth ist ein solcher: Wenn er ein Land anrührt, so zerschmilzt es, daß alle Einwohner trauern müssen; daß es soll ganz überlaufen werden wie mit einem Wasser und überschwemmt werden wie mit dem Fluß Ägyptens.(D) Amo 9:5 καὶ κύριος κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὁ ἐφαπτόμενος τῆς γῆς καὶ σαλεύων αὐτήν καὶ πενθήσουσιν πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες αὐτήν καὶ ἀναβήσεται ὡς ποταμὸς συντέλεια αὐτῆς καὶ καταβήσεται ὡς ποταμὸς Αἰγύπτου(lxx) Amo 9:5 The Lord God of hosts, He who touches the earth and it melts, And all who dwell there mourn; All of it shall swell like the River, And subside like the River of Egypt.(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:6 ============ Amo 9:6 The One who builds His upper chambers in the heavens And has founded His vaulted dome over the earth, He who calls for the waters of the sea And pours them out on the face of the earth, The Lord is His name.(nasb) Amo 9:6 Qui ædificat in cælo ascensionem suam, et fasciculum suum super terram fundavit; qui vocat aquas maris, et effundit eas super faciem terræ: Dominus nomen ejus.(vulgate) Amós 9:6 El que edifica en el cielo sus cámaras, y ha establecido su firmamento sobre la tierra; El que llama a las aguas del mar y las derrama sobre la faz de la tierra: Jehová [es] su nombre.(E) Amos 9:6 Il a bâti sa demeure dans les cieux, Et fondé sa voûte sur la terre; Il appelle les eaux de la mer, Et les répand à la surface de la terre: L'Eternel est son nom.(F) Amo 9:6 Er ist's, der seinen Saal in den Himmel baut und seine Hütte auf Erden gründet; er ruft dem Wasser im Meer und schüttet's auf das Erdreich, er heißt HERR.(D) Amo 9:6 ὁ οἰκοδομῶν εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἀνάβασιν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς θεμελιῶν ὁ προσκαλούμενος τὸ ὕδωρ τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ ἐκχέων αὐτὸ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τῆς γῆς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὄνομα αὐτῷ(lxx) Amo 9:6 He who builds His layers in the sky, And has founded His strata in the earth; Who calls for the waters of the sea, And pours them out on the face of the earth-- The Lord is His name.(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:7 ============ Amo 9:7 "Are you not as the sons of Ethiopia to Me, O sons of Israel?" declares the Lord. "Have I not brought up Israel from the land of Egypt, And the Philistines from Caphtor and the Arameans from Kir?(nasb) Amo 9:7 Numquid non ut filii Æthiopum vos estis mihi, filii Israël? ait Dominus. Numquid non Israël ascendere feci de terra Ægypti, et Palæstinos de Cappadocia, et Syros de Cyrene?]~(vulgate) Amós 9:7 Hijos de Israel, ¿no me [sois] vosotros, dice Jehová, como hijos de etíopes? ¿No hice yo subir a Israel de la tierra de Egipto, y a los filisteos de Caftor, y de Kir a los arameos?(E) Amos 9:7 N'êtes-vous pas pour moi comme les enfants des Ethiopiens, Enfants d'Israël? dit l'Eternel. N'ai-je pas fait sortir Israël du pays d'Egypte, Comme les Philistins de Caphtor et les Syriens de Kir?(F) Amo 9:7 Seid ihr Kinder Israel mir nicht gleichwie Mohren? spricht der HERR. Habe ich nicht Israel aus Ägyptenland geführt und die Philister aus Kaphthor und die Syrer aus Kir?(D) Amo 9:7 οὐχ ὡς υἱοὶ Αἰθιόπων ὑμεῖς ἐστε ἐμοί υἱοὶ Ισραηλ λέγει κύριος οὐ τὸν Ισραηλ ἀνήγαγον ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους ἐκ Καππαδοκίας καὶ τοὺς Σύρους ἐκ βόθρου(lxx) Amo 9:7 "Are you not like the people of Ethiopia to Me, O children of Israel?" says the Lord. "Did I not bring up Israel from the land of Egypt, The Philistines from Caphtor, And the Syrians from Kir?(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:8 ============ Amo 9:8 "Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are on the sinful kingdom, And I will destroy it from the face of the earth; Nevertheless, I will not totally destroy the house of Jacob," Declares the Lord.(nasb) Amo 9:8 [Ecce oculi Domini Dei super regnum peccans: et conteram illud a facie terræ; verumtamen conterens non conteram domum Jacob, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) Amós 9:8 He aquí los ojos del Señor Jehová [están] contra el reino pecador, y yo lo asolaré de la faz de la tierra; mas no destruiré del todo a la casa de Jacob, dice Jehová.(E) Amos 9:8 Voici, le Seigneur, l'Eternel, a les yeux sur le royaume coupable. Je le détruirai de dessus la face de la terre; Toutefois je ne détruirai pas entièrement la maison de Jacob, Dit l'Eternel.(F) Amo 9:8 Siehe, die Augen des HERRN HERRN sehen auf das sündige Königreich, daß ich's vom Erdboden vertilge; wiewohl ich das Haus Jakob nicht ganz und gar vertilgen will, spricht der HERR.(D) Amo 9:8 ἰδοὺ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπὶ τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν καὶ ἐξαρῶ αὐτὴν ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς πλὴν ὅτι οὐκ εἰς τέλος ἐξαρῶ τὸν οἶκον Ιακωβ λέγει κύριος(lxx) Amo 9:8 "Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are on the sinful kingdom, And I will destroy it from the face of the earth; Yet I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob," Says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:9 ============ Amo 9:9 "For behold, I am commanding, And I will shake the house of Israel among all nations As grain is shaken in a sieve, But not a kernel will fall to the ground.(nasb) Amo 9:9 Ecce enim mandabo ego, et concutiam in omnibus gentibus domum Israël, sicut concutitur triticum in cribro, et non cadet lapillus super terram.(vulgate) Amós 9:9 Porque he aquí yo mandaré, y haré que la casa de Israel sea zarandeada entre todas las naciones, como se zarandea [el grano] en un harnero, y no cae un granito en la tierra.(E) Amos 9:9 Car voici, je donnerai mes ordres, Et je secouerai la maison d'Israël parmi toutes les nations, Comme on secoue avec le crible, Sans qu'il tombe à terre un seul grain.(F) Amo 9:9 Denn siehe, ich will befehlen und das Haus Israel unter alle Heiden sichten lassen, gleichwie man mit einem Sieb sichtet, und kein Körnlein soll auf die Erde fallen.(D) Amo 9:9 διότι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι καὶ λικμιῶ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ἔθνεσιν τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Ισραηλ ὃν τρόπον λικμᾶται ἐν τῷ λικμῷ καὶ οὐ μὴ πέσῃ σύντριμμα ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν(lxx) Amo 9:9 "For surely I will command, And will sift the house of Israel among all nations, As grain is sifted in a sieve; Yet not the smallest grain shall fall to the ground.(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:10 ============ Amo 9:10 "All the sinners of My people will die by the sword, Those who say, 'The calamity will not overtake or confront us.'(nasb) Amo 9:10 In gladio morientur omnes peccatores populi mei, qui dicunt: Non appropinquabit, et non veniet super nos malum.(vulgate) Amós 9:10 A espada morirán todos los pecadores de mi pueblo, que dicen: No se acercará, ni nos alcanzará el mal.(E) Amos 9:10 Tous les pécheurs de mon peuple mourront par l'épée, Ceux qui disent: Le malheur n'approchera pas, ne nous atteindra pas.(F) Amo 9:10 Alle Sünder in meinem Volk sollen durchs Schwert sterben, die da sagen: Es wird das Unglück nicht so nahe sein noch uns begegnen.(D) Amo 9:10 ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ τελευτήσουσι πάντες ἁμαρτωλοὶ λαοῦ μου οἱ λέγοντες οὐ μὴ ἐγγίσῃ οὐδ᾽ οὐ μὴ γένηται ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς τὰ κακά(lxx) Amo 9:10 All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, Who say, 'The calamity shall not overtake nor confront us.'(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:11 ============ Amo 9:11 "In that day I will raise up the fallen booth of David, And wall up its breaches; I will also raise up its ruins And rebuild it as in the days of old;(nasb) Amo 9:11 In die illa suscitabo tabernaculum David, quod cecidit: et reædificabo aperturas murorum ejus, et ea quæ corruerant instaurabo: et reædificabo illud sicut in diebus antiquis,(vulgate) Amós 9:11 En aquel día yo levantaré el tabernáculo caído de David, y cerraré sus portillos, y levantaré sus ruinas, y lo edificaré como en el tiempo pasado;(E) Amos 9:11 En ce temps-là, je relèverai de sa chute la maison de David, J'en réparerai les brèches, j'en redresserai les ruines, Et je la rebâtirai comme elle était autrefois,(F) Amo 9:11 Zur selben Zeit will ich die zerfallene Hütte Davids wieder aufrichten und ihre Lücken verzäunen, und was abgebrochen ist, wieder aufrichten und will sie bauen wie sie vorzeiten gewesen ist,(D) Amo 9:11 ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀναστήσω τὴν σκηνὴν Δαυιδ τὴν πεπτωκυῖαν καὶ ἀνοικοδομήσω τὰ πεπτωκότα αὐτῆς καὶ τὰ κατεσκαμμένα αὐτῆς ἀναστήσω καὶ ἀνοικοδομήσω αὐτὴν καθὼς αἱ ἡμέραι τοῦ αἰῶνος(lxx) Amo 9:11 "On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old;(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:12 ============ Amo 9:12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom And all the nations who are called by My name," Declares the Lord who does this.(nasb) Amo 9:12 ut possideant reliquias Idumææ, et omnes nationes: eo quod invocatum sit nomen meum super eos, dicit Dominus faciens hæc.(vulgate) Amós 9:12 para que aquellos sobre los cuales es invocado mi nombre, posean el resto de Idumea, y a todas las naciones, dice Jehová que hace esto.(E) Amos 9:12 Afin qu'ils possèdent le reste d'Edom et toutes les nations Sur lesquelles mon nom a été invoqué, Dit l'Eternel, qui accomplira ces choses.(F) Amo 9:12 auf daß sie besitzen die übrigen zu Edom und alle Heiden, über welche mein Namen genannt ist, spricht der HERR, der solches tut.(D) Amo 9:12 ὅπως ἐκζητήσωσιν οἱ κατάλοιποι τῶν ἀνθρώπων καὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐφ᾽ οὓς ἐπικέκληται τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιῶν ταῦτα(lxx) Amo 9:12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name," Says the Lord who does this thing.(nkjv) ======= Amos 9:13 ============ Amo 9:13 "Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord, "When the plowman will overtake the reaper And the treader of grapes him who sows seed; When the mountains will drip sweet wine And all the hills will be dissolved.(nasb) Amo 9:13 Ecce dies veniunt, dicit Dominus, et comprehendet arator messorem, et calcator uvæ mittentem semen: et stillabunt montes dulcedinem, et omnes colli culti erunt.(vulgate) Amós 9:13 He aquí vienen días, dice Jehová en que el que ara alcanzará al segador, y el pisador de las uvas al que lleva la semilla; y los montes destilarán mosto, y todos los collados se derretirán.(E) Amos 9:13 Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Eternel, Où le laboureur suivra de près le moissonneur, Et celui qui foule le raisin celui qui répand la semence, Où le moût ruissellera des montagnes Et coulera de toutes les collines.(F) Amo 9:13 Siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß man zugleich ackern und ernten und zugleich keltern und säen wird; und die Berge werden von süßem Wein triefen, und alle Hügel werden fruchtbar sein.(D) Amo 9:13 ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται λέγει κύριος καὶ καταλήμψεται ὁ ἀλοητὸς τὸν τρύγητον καὶ περκάσει ἡ σταφυλὴ ἐν τῷ σπόρῳ καὶ ἀποσταλάξει τὰ ὄρη γλυκασμόν καὶ πάντες οἱ βουνοὶ σύμφυτοι ἔσονται(lxx) Amo 9:13 "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord, "When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, And the treader of grapes him who sows seed; They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, And make gardens and eat their fruit.(nasb) Amo 9:14 Et convertam captivitatem populi mei Israël; et ædificabunt civitates desertas, et inhabitabunt; et plantabunt vineas, et bibent vinum earum, et facient hortos, et comedent fructus eorum.(vulgate) Amós 9:14 Y yo traeré el cautiverio de mi pueblo Israel, y ellos edificarán las ciudades asoladas, y las habitarán; y plantarán viñas, y beberán el vino de ellas; y harán huertos, y comerán el fruto de ellos.(E) Amos 9:14 Je ramènerai les captifs de mon peuple d'Israël; Ils rebâtiront les villes dévastées et les habiteront, Ils planteront des vignes et en boiront le vin, Ils établiront des jardins et en mangeront les fruits.(F) Amo 9:14 Denn ich will das Gefängnis meines Volkes Israel wenden, daß sie sollen die wüsten Städte bauen und bewohnen, Weinberge pflanzen und Wein davon trinken, Gärten machen und Früchte daraus essen.(D) Amo 9:14 καὶ ἐπιστρέψω τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν λαοῦ μου Ισραηλ καὶ οἰκοδομήσουσιν πόλεις τὰς ἠφανισμένας καὶ κατοικήσουσιν καὶ καταφυτεύσουσιν ἀμπελῶνας καὶ πίονται τὸν οἶνον αὐτῶν καὶ φυτεύσουσιν κήπους καὶ φάγονται τὸν καρπὸν αὐτῶν(lxx) Amo 9:14 I will bring back the captives of My people Israel;
