Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:2 ============ Act 1:2 until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had by the Holy Spirit given orders to the apostles whom He had chosen,(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:3 ============ Act 1:3 To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.(nasb) Act 1:3 quibus et præbuit seipsum vivum post passionem suam in multis argumentis, per dies quadraginta apparens eis, et 1:3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:4 ============ Act 1:4 Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, "Which," He said, "you heard of from Me;(nasb) Act 1:4 Et convescens, præcepit eis ab Jerosolymis ne discederent, sed exspectarent promissionem Patris, quam audistis (inquit) per os meum:(vulgate) Hechos 1:4 Y estando reunido con ellos, les mandó πατρὸς ἣν ἠκούσατέ μου·(Nestle-Aland) Act 1:4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me;(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:5 ============ Act 1:5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."(nasb) Act 1:5 quia Joannes quidem 1:5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:6 ============ Act 1:6 So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, "Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?"(nasb) Act 1:6 Igitur qui convenerant, interrogabant eum, dicentes: Domine, si in tempore hoc restitues regnum Israël?(vulgate) Hechos 1:6 Entonces los que se habían reunido le preguntaron, diciendo: Señor, ¿restaurarás el reino a Israel en este tiempo?(E) Actes 1:6 Alors les apôtres réunis lui demandèrent: asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:7 ============ Act 1:7 He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;(nasb) Act 1:7 Dixit autem eis: Non est vestrum nosse tempora vel momenta quæ Pater posuit in sua potestate:(vulgate) Hechos 1:7 Y Él les dijo: ‹No toca a vosotros saber χρόνους ἢ καιροὺς οὓς ὁ πατὴρ ἔθετο ἐν τῇ ἰδίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ·(Nestle-Aland) Act 1:7 And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:8 ============ Act 1:8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."(nasb) Act 1:8 sed accipietis virtutem supervenientis Spiritus Sancti in vos, et eritis mihi testes in Jerusalem, et in omni Judæa, et Samaria, et usque ad ultimum terræ.~(vulgate) Hechos 1:8 ‹pero recibiréis poder cuando haya venido sobre vosotros el Espíritu Santo; y me seréis testigos, a la vez, en Jerusalén, en toda Judea, en Samaria, y hasta lo último de la tierra.›(E) Actes 1:8 Mais vous recevrez une puissance, le Saint-Esprit survenant sur vous, et vous serez mes témoins à Jérusalem, dans toute la Judée, dans la Samarie, et jusqu'aux extrémités de la γῆς.(Nestle-Aland) Act 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:9 ============ Act 1:9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.(nasb) Act 1:9 Et cum hæc dixisset, videntibus illis, elevatus est: et nubes suscepit eum ab oculis eorum.(vulgate) Hechos 1:9 Y habiendo dicho estas cosas, viéndolo ellos, fue alzado; y una nube lo recibió y lo encubrió things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:10 ============ Act 1:10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.(nasb) Act 1:10 Cumque intuerentur in cælum euntem illum, ecce duo viri astiterunt juxta illos in vestibus albis,(vulgate) Hechos 1:10 Y estando ellos con los ojos puestos en el cielo, entre tanto que Él se iba, he aquí dos varones en vestiduras blancas se pusieron junto a ellos;(E) Actes 1:10 Et comme ils avaient les regards fixés vers le ciel pendant qu'il s'en allait, voici, deux hommes vêtus de blanc leur apparurent,(F) Act 1:10 Und als sie ihm nachsahen, wie er gen Himmel fuhr, siehe, da standen bei ihnen zwei Männer in weißen Kleidern,(D) Act 1:10 καὶ ὡς ἀτενίζοντες ἦσαν εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν πορευομένου αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνδρες δύο παρειστήκεισαν αὐτοῖς ἐν ἐσθήσεσι λευκαῖς,(Nestle-Aland) Act 1:10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:11 ============ Act 1:11 They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."(nasb) Act 1:11 qui et dixerunt: Viri Galilæi, quid statis aspicientes in cælum? Hic Jesus, qui assumptus est a vobis in cælum, sic veniet quemadmodum vidistis eum euntem in cælum.~(vulgate) Hechos 1:11 los cuales también les dijeron: Varones galileos, ¿qué estáis mirando al cielo? Este mismo Jesús que ha sido tomado de vosotros al cielo, así vendrá como le habéis visto ir al cielo.(E) Actes 1:11 et dirent: Hommes Galiléens, pourquoi vous arrêtez-vous à regarder au ciel? Ce Jésus, qui a été enlevé au ciel du milieu de vous, viendra de la même manière que vous l'avez vu allant au ciel.(F) Act 1:11 welche auch sagten: Ihr Männer von Galiläa, was stehet ihr und sehet gen Himmel? Dieser Jesus, welcher von euch ist aufgenommen gen Himmel, wird kommen, wie ihr ihn gesehen habt gen Himmel fahren.(D) Act 1:11 οἳ καὶ εἶπαν, ἄνδρες γαλιλαῖοι, τί ἑστήκατε [ἐμ]βλέποντες εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν; οὖτος ὁ ἰησοῦς ὁ ἀναλημφθεὶς ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν οὕτως ἐλεύσεται ὃν τρόπον ἐθεάσασθε αὐτὸν πορευόμενον εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν.(Nestle-Aland) Act 1:11 who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? Et il dit:(F) Act 1:15 Und in den Tagen trat auf Petrus unter die Jünger und sprach (es war aber eine Schar zuhauf bei hundertundzwanzig Namen):(D) Act 1:15 καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ταύταις ἀναστὰς πέτρος ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ἀδελφῶν εἶπεν ἦν τε ὄχλος ὀνομάτων ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ὡσεὶ ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι,(Nestle-Aland) Act 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said,(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:16 ============ Act 1:16 "Brethren, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.(nasb) Act 1:16 Viri fratres, oportet impleri Scripturam quam prædixit Spiritus Sanctus per os David de Juda, qui fuit dux eorum qui comprehenderunt Jesum:(vulgate) Hechos 1:16 Varones hermanos, era necesario que se cumpliese la Escritura la cual el Espíritu Santo habló antes por boca de David acerca de Judas, que fue guía de los que prendieron a Jesús.(E) Actes 1:16 Hommes frères, il fallait que s'accomplît ce que le Saint-Esprit, dans l'Ecriture, a annoncé d'avance, par la bouche de David, au sujet de Judas, qui a été le guide de ceux qui ont saisi Jésus.(F) Act 1:16 Ihr Männer und Brüder, es mußte die Schrift erfüllet werden, welche zuvor gesagt hat der Heilige Geist durch den Mund Davids von Judas, der ein Führer war derer, die Jesus fingen;(D) Act 1:16 ἄνδρες ἀδελφοί, ἔδει πληρωθῆναι τὴν γραφὴν ἣν προεῖπεν τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον διὰ στόματος δαυὶδ περὶ ἰούδα τοῦ γενομένου ὁδηγοῦ τοῖς συλλαβοῦσιν ἰησοῦν,(Nestle-Aland) Act 1:16 "Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus;(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:17 ============ Act 1:17 For he was counted among us and received his share in this ministry."(nasb) Act 1:17 qui connumeratus erat in nobis, et sortitus est sortem ministerii hujus.(vulgate) Hechos 1:17 Porque él era contado con nosotros y tuvo parte en este ministerio.(E) Actes 1:17 Il était compté parmi nous, et il avait part au même ministère.(F) Act 1:17 denn er war zu uns gezählt und hatte dies Amt mit uns überkommen.(D) Act 1:17 ὅτι κατηριθμημένος ἦν ἐν ἡμῖν καὶ ἔλαχεν τὸν κλῆρον τῆς διακονίας ταύτης.(Nestle-Aland) Act 1:17 for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry."(nkjv) ======= Acts 1:18 ============ Act 1:18 (Now this man acquired a field with the price of his wickedness, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.(nasb) Act 1:18 Et hic quidem possedit agrum de mercede iniquitatis, et suspensus crepuit medius: et diffusa sunt omnia viscera ejus.(vulgate) Hechos 1:18 Éste, pues, adquirió un campo con el salario de su iniquidad, y cayendo rostro abajo, se reventó por la mitad, y todas sus entrañas se derramaron.(E) Actes 1:18 Cet homme, ayant acquis un champ avec le salaire du crime, est tombé, s'est rompu par le milieu du corps, et toutes ses entrailles se sont répandues.(F) Act 1:18 Dieser hat erworben den Acker um den ungerechten Lohn und ist abgestürzt und mitten entzweigeborsten, und all sein Eingeweide ausgeschüttet.(D) Act 1:18 οὖτος μὲν οὗν ἐκτήσατο χωρίον ἐκ μισθοῦ τῆς ἀδικίας, καὶ πρηνὴς γενόμενος ἐλάκησεν μέσος, καὶ ἐξεχύθη πάντα τὰ σπλάγχνα αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Act 1:18 (Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity;
