And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.(KJV) Exodus 1:11 Therefore did they set taskemasters ouer them, to keepe the vnder with burdens: and they built the cities Pithom and Raamses for the treasures of Pharaoh.(Geneva) Exode 1:11 Et l'on établit sur lui des chefs de corvées, afin de l'accabler de travaux pénibles. if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.(KJV) Exodus 1:16 And sayde, When ye doe the office of a midwife to the women of the Ebrewes, and see them on their stooles, if it be a sonne, then yee shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then let her liue.(Geneva) Exode 1:16 Il leur dit: Quand vous accoucherez les femmes des Hébreux et que vous les verrez sur les sièges, si c'est un garçon, faites-le mourir; si c'est une fille, laissez-la vivre.(FR) 16 ׃1 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר בְּיַלֶּדְכֶן֙ אֶת־הָֽעִבְרִיּ֔וֹת וּרְאִיתֶ֖ן עַל־הָאָבְנָ֑יִם אִם־בֵּ֥ן הוּא֙ וַהֲמִתֶּ֣ן אֹת֔וֹ וְאִם־בַּ֥ת הִ֖יא וָחָֽיָה׃ Exodus Exo 1:16 and he said, "When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live."(nasb) ======= Exodus 1:17 ============ Exo 1:17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.(KJV) Exodus 1:17 Notwithstanding ye midwiues feared God, and did not as the King of Egypt commaunded them, but preserued aliue the men children.(Geneva) Exode 1:17 Mais les sages-femmes craignirent Dieu, et ne firent point ce que leur avait dit le roi d'Egypte; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.(KJV) Exodus 1:19 And the midwiues answered Pharaoh, Because the Ebrewe women are not as the women of Egypt: for they are liuely, and are deliuered yer the midwife come at them.(Geneva) Exode 1:19 Les sages-femmes répondirent à Pharaon: C'est que les femmes des Hébreux ne sont pas comme les Egyptiennes; elles sont vigoureuses et elles accouchent avant l'arrivée de la sage-femme.(FR) 19 ׃1 וַתֹּאמַ֤רְןָ הַֽמְיַלְּדֹת֙ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה כִּ֣י לֹ֧א כַנָּשִׁ֛ים הַמִּצְרִיֹּ֖ת הָֽעִבְרִיֹּ֑ת כִּֽי־חָי֣וֹת הֵ֔נָּה בְּטֶ֨רֶם תָּב֧וֹא אֲלֵהֶ֛ן הַמְיַלֶּ֖דֶת וְיָלָֽדוּ׃ Exodus Exo 1:19 The midwives said to Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife can get to them."(nasb) ======= Exodus 1:20 ============ Exo 1:20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.(KJV) Exodus 1:20 God therefore prospered the midwiues, and the people multiplied and were very mightie.(Geneva) Exode 1:20 Dieu fit du bien aux sages-femmes;
