And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.(KJV) Deuteronomy 22:17 And lo, he layeth slaunderous things vnto her charge, saying, I founde not thy daughter a mayde: loe, these are the tokens of my daughters virginitie: and they shal spreade the vesture before the Elders of the citie.(Geneva) Deutéronome 22:17 il lui impute des choses criminelles, en disant: Je n'ai pas trouvé ta fille vierge. Et ils déploieront son vêtement devant les anciens de la ville.(FR) 17 ׃22 וְהִנֵּה־ה֡וּא שָׂם֩ עֲלִילֹ֨ת דְּבָרִ֜ים לֵאמֹ֗ר לֹֽא־מָצָ֤אתִי לְבִתְּךָ֙ בְּתוּלִ֔ים וְאֵ֖לֶּה בְּתוּלֵ֣י בִתִּ֑י וּפֽ͏ָרְשׂוּ֙ הַשִּׂמְלָ֔ה לִפְנֵ֖י זִקְנֵ֥י הָעִֽיר׃ Deuteronomy Deu 22:17 and behold, he has charged her with shameful deeds, saying, "I did not find your daughter a virgin." But this is the evidence of my daughter's virginity.' And they shall spread the garment before the elders of the city.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 22:18 ============ Deu 22:18 And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;(KJV) Deuteronomy 22:18 Then the Elders of the citie shal take that man and chastise him,(Geneva) Deutéronome 22:18 Les anciens de la ville saisiront alors cet homme et le châtieront;(FR) 18 ׃22 וְלָֽ[m]קְח֛וּ זִקְנֵ֥י הָֽעִיר־הַהִ֖וא אֶת־הָאִ֑ישׁ וְיִסְּר֖וּ אֹתֽוֹ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 22:18 So the elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 22:19 ============ Deu 22:19 And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.(KJV) Deuteronomy 22:19 And shall condemne him in an hundreth shekels of siluer, & giue them vnto the father of the mayde, because he hath brought vp an euill name vpon a mayde of Israel: and she shalbe his wife, and he may not put her away all his life.(Geneva) Deutéronome 22:19 et, parce qu'il a porté atteinte à la réputation d'une vierge d'Israël, ils le condamneront à une amende de cent sicles d'argent, qu'ils donneront au père de la jeune femme. Elle restera sa femme, et il ne pourra pas la renvoyer, tant qu'il vivra.(FR) 19 ׃22 וְעָנְשׁ֨וּ אֹת֜וֹ מֵ֣אָה כֶ֗סֶף וְנָתְנוּ֙ לַאֲבִ֣י הַֽנַּעֲרָ֔ה כִּ֤י הוֹצִיא֙ שֵׁ֣ם רָ֔ע עַ֖ל בְּתוּלַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְלֽוֹ־תִהְיֶ֣ה לְאִשָּׁ֔ה לֹא־יוּכַ֥ל לְשַּׁלְּחָ֖הּ כָּל־יָמָֽיו׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 22:19 and they shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give it to the girl's father, because he publicly defamed a virgin of Israel. And she shall remain his wife; he cannot divorce her all his days.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 22:20 ============ Deu 22:20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:(KJV) Deuteronomy 22:20 But if this thing be true, that the mayde be not found a virgine,(Geneva) Deutéronome 22:20 Mais si le fait est vrai, si la jeune femme ne s'est point trouvée vierge,(FR) 20 ׃22 וְאִם־אֱמֶ֣ת הָיָ֔ה הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּ֑ה לֹא־נִמְצְא֥וּ בְתוּלִ֖ים *לנער **לַֽנַּעֲרָֽה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 22:20 "But if this charge is true, that the girl was not found a virgin,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 22:21 ============ Deu 22:21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.(KJV) Deuteronomy 22:21 Then shall they bring forth the mayde to the doore of her fathers house, & the men of her citie shal stone her with stones to death: for shee hath wrought follie in Israel, by playing ye whore in her fathers house: so thou shalt put euill away from among you.(Geneva) Deutéronome 22:21 on fera sortir la jeune femme à l'entrée de la maison de son père; elle sera lapidée par les gens de la ville, et elle mourra, parce qu'elle a commis une infamie en Israël, en se prostituant dans la maison de son père. Tu ôteras ainsi le mal du milieu de toi.(FR) 21 ׃22 וְהוֹצִ֨יאוּ אֶת־*הנער **הַֽנַּעֲרָ֜ה אֶל־פֶּ֣תַח בֵּית־אָבִ֗יהָ וּסְקָלוּהָ֩ אַנְשֵׁ֨י עִירָ֤הּ בָּאֲבָנִים֙ וָמֵ֔תָה כִּֽי־עָשְׂתָ֤ה נְבָלָה֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לִזְנ֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית אָבִ֑יהָ וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ הָרָ֖ע מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 22:21 then they shall bring out the girl to the doorway of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death because she has committed an act of folly in Israel by playing the harlot in her father's house; thus you shall purge the evil from among you.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 22:22 ============ Deu 22:22 If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.(KJV) Deuteronomy 22:22 If a man be found lying with a woman marryed to a man, then they shall dye euen both twaine: to wit, the man that lay with the wife, & the wife: so thou shalt put away euil from Israel.(Geneva) Deutéronome 22:22 Si l'on trouve un homme couché avec une femme mariée, ils mourront tous deux, l'homme qui a couché avec la femme, et la femme aussi.
