Il en sera ainsi afin que tout meurtrier puisse s'enfuir dans ces villes.(FR) 3 ׃19 תָּכִ֣ין לְךָ֮ הַדֶּרֶךְ֒ וְשִׁלַּשְׁתָּ֙ אֶת־גְּב֣וּל אַרְצְךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַנְחִֽילְךָ֖ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ וְהָיָ֕ה לָנ֥וּס שָׁ֖מָּה כָּל־רֹצֵֽחַ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:3 You shall prepare the roads for yourself, and divide into three parts the territory of your land which the Lord your God will give you as a possession, so that any manslayer may flee there.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:4 ============ Deu 19:4 And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:4 This also is ye cause wherfore the manslaier shal flee thither, and liue: who so killeth his neighbor ignorantly, and hated him not in time passed:(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:4 Cette loi s'appliquera au meurtrier qui s'enfuira là pour sauver sa vie, lorsqu'il aura involontairement tué son prochain, sans avoir été auparavant son ennemi.(FR) 4 ׃19 וְזֶה֙ דְּבַ֣ר הָרֹצֵ֔חַ אֲשֶׁר־יָנ֥וּס שָׁ֖מָּה וָחָ֑י אֲשֶׁ֨ר יַכֶּ֤ה אֶת־רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ בִּבְלִי־דַ֔עַת וְה֛וּא לֹא־שֹׂנֵ֥א ל֖וֹ מִתְּמֹ֥ל שִׁלְשֹֽׁם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:4 "Now this is the case of the manslayer who may flee there and live: when he kills his friend unintentionally, not hating him previously"(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:5 ============ Deu 19:5 As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:5 As hee that goeth vnto the wood with his neighbor to hew wood, & his hand striketh with the axe to cut downe the tree, if the head slip fro the helue, and hit his neighbour that he dieth, the same shall flee vnto one of the cities, and liue,(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:5 Un homme, par exemple, va couper du bois dans la forêt avec un autre homme; la hache en main, il s'élance pour abattre un arbre; le fer échappe du manche, atteint le compagnon de cet homme, et lui donne la mort. Alors il s'enfuira dans l'une de ces villes pour sauver sa vie,(FR) 5 ׃19 וַאֲשֶׁר֩ יָבֹ֨א אֶת־רֵעֵ֥הוּ בַיַּעַר֮ לַחְטֹ֣ב עֵצִים֒ וְנִדְּחָ֨ה יָד֤וֹ בַגַּרְזֶן֙ לִכְרֹ֣ת הָעֵ֔ץ וְנָשַׁ֤ל הַבַּרְזֶל֙ מִן־הָעֵ֔ץ וּמָצָ֥א אֶת־רֵעֵ֖הוּ וָמֵ֑ת ה֗וּא יָנ֛וּס אֶל־אַחַ֥ת הֶעָרִים־הָאֵ֖לֶּה וָחָֽי׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:5 as when a man goes into the forest with his friend to cut wood, and his hand swings the axe to cut down the tree, and the iron head slips off the handle and strikes his friend so that he dies--he may flee to one of these cities and live;(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:6 ============ Deu 19:6 Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:6 Least the auenger of the blood followe after the manslaier, while his heart is chafed, and ouertake him, because the way is long, and slaie him, although he be not worthy of death, because he hated him not in time passed.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:6 de peur que le vengeur du sang, échauffé par la colère et poursuivant le meurtrier, ne finisse par l'atteindre s'il y avait à faire beaucoup de chemin, et ne frappe mortellement celui qui ne mérite pas la mort, puisqu'il n'était point auparavant l'ennemi de son prochain.(FR) 6 ׃19 פֶּן־יִרְדֹּף֩ גֹּאֵ֨ל הַדָּ֜ם אַחֲרֵ֣י הָרֹצֵ֗חַ כִּי־יֵחַם֮ לְבָבוֹ֒ וְהִשִּׂיג֛וֹ כִּֽי־יִרְבֶּ֥ה הַדֶּ֖רֶךְ וְהִכָּ֣הוּ נָ֑פֶשׁ וְלוֹ֙ אֵ֣ין מִשְׁפַּט־מָ֔וֶת כִּ֠י לֹ֣א שֹׂנֵ֥א ה֛וּא ל֖וֹ מִתְּמ֥וֹל שִׁלְשֽׁוֹם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:6 otherwise the avenger of blood might pursue the manslayer in the heat of his anger, and overtake him, because the way is long, and take his life, though he was not deserving of death, since he had not hated him previously.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:7 ============ Deu 19:7 Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:7 Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt appoint out three cities for thee.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:7 C'est pourquoi je te donne cet ordre: Tu sépareras trois villes.(FR) 7 ׃19 עַל־כֵּ֛ן אָנֹכִ֥י מְצַוְּךָ֖ לֵאמֹ֑ר שָׁלֹ֥שׁ עָרִ֖ים תַּבְדִּ֥יל לָֽךְ׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 19:7 Therefore, I command you, saying, 'You shall set aside three cities for yourself.'(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:8 ============ Deu 19:8 And if the LORD thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:8 And when the Lorde thy God enlargeth thy coastes (as he hath sworne vnto thy fathers) and giueth thee all the lande which he promised to giue vnto thy fathers,(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:8 Lorsque l'Eternel, ton Dieu, aura élargi tes frontières, comme il l'a juré à tes pères, et qu'il t'aura donné tout le pays qu'il a promis à tes pères de te donner, -(FR) 8 ׃19 וְאִם־יַרְחִ֞יב יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶת־גְּבֻ֣לְךָ֔ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֖ע לַאֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ וְנָ֤תַן לְךָ֙ אֶת־כָּל־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֶּ֖ר לָתֵ֥ת לַאֲבֹתֶֽיךָ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:8 "If the Lord your God enlarges your territory, just as He has sworn to your fathers, and gives you all the land which He promised to give your fathers--(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:9 ============ Deu 19:9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:9 (If thou keepe all these commaundements to doe them, which I commaund thee this day: to wit, that thou loue the Lord thy God, and walke in his waies for euer) then shalt thou adde three cities moe for thee besides those three,(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:9 pourvu que tu observes et mettes en pratique tous ces commandements que je te prescris aujourd'hui, en sorte que tu aimes l'Eternel, ton Dieu, et que tu marches toujours dans ses voies, -tu ajouteras encore trois villes à ces trois-là,(FR) 9 ׃19 כִּֽי־תִשְׁמֹר֩ אֶת־כָּל־הַמִּצְוָ֨ה הַזֹּ֜את לַעֲשֹׂתָ֗הּ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָנֹכִ֣י מְצַוְּךָ֮ הַיּוֹם֒ לְאַהֲבָ֞ה אֶת־יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ וְלָלֶ֥כֶת בִּדְרָכָ֖יו כָּל־הַיָּמִ֑ים וְיָסַפְתָּ֨ לְךָ֥ עוֹד֙ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ עָרִ֔ים עַ֖ל הַשָּׁלֹ֥שׁ הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:9 if you carefully observe all this commandment which I command you today, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in His ways always--then you shall add three more cities for yourself, besides these three.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:10 ============ Deu 19:10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:10 That innocent bloude be not shed within thy land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee to inherite, lest bloud be vpon thee.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:10 afin que le sang innocent ne soit pas répandu au milieu du pays que l'Eternel, ton Dieu, te donne pour héritage, et que tu ne sois pas coupable de meurtre.(FR) 10 ׃19 וְלֹ֤א יִשָּׁפֵךְ֙ דָּ֣ם נָקִ֔י בְּקֶ֣רֶב אַרְצְךָ֔ אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ נַחֲלָ֑ה וְהָיָ֥ה עָלֶ֖יךָ דָּמִֽים׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 19:10 So innocent blood will not be shed in the midst of your land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance, and bloodguiltiness be on you.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:11 ============ Deu 19:11 But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:11 But if a man hate his neighbour, and lay waite for him, and rise against him, and smite any man that he die, and flee vnto any of these cities,(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:11 Mais si un homme s'enfuit dans une de ces villes, après avoir dressé des embûches à son prochain par inimitié contre lui, après l'avoir attaqué et frappé de manière à causer sa mort,(FR) 11 ׃19 וְכִֽי־יִהְיֶ֥ה אִישׁ֙ שֹׂנֵ֣א לְרֵעֵ֔הוּ וְאָ֤רַב לוֹ֙ וְקָ֣ם עָלָ֔יו וְהִכָּ֥הוּ נֶ֖פֶשׁ וָמֵ֑ת וְנָ֕ס אֶל־אַחַ֖ת הֶעָרִ֥ים הָאֵֽל׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:11 "But if there is a man who hates his neighbor and lies in wait for him and rises up against him and strikes him so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:12 ============ Deu 19:12 Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:12 Then the Elders of his citie shal send and set him thence, and deliuer him into the hands of the auenger of the blood, that he may die.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:12 les anciens de sa ville l'enverront saisir et le livreront entre les mains du vengeur du sang, afin qu'il meure.(FR) 12 ׃19 וְשָֽׁלְחוּ֙ זִקְנֵ֣י עִיר֔וֹ וְלָקְח֥וּ אֹת֖וֹ מִשָּׁ֑ם וְנָתְנ֣וּ אֹת֗וֹ בְּיַ֛ד גֹּאֵ֥ל הַדָּ֖ם וָמֵֽת׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:12 then the elders of his city shall send and take him from there and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:13 ============ Deu 19:13 Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:13 Thine eye shall not spare him, but thou shalt put away the crie of innocent blood from Israel, that it may goe well with thee.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:13 Tu ne jetteras pas sur lui un regard de pitié, tu feras disparaître d'Israël le sang innocent, et tu seras heureux.(FR) 13 ׃19 לֹא־תָח֥וֹס עֵֽינְךָ֖ עָלָ֑יו וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֧ דַֽם־הַנָּקִ֛י מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְט֥וֹב לָֽךְ׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 19:13 You shall not pity him, but you shall purge the blood of the innocent from Israel, that it may go well with you. (nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:14 ============ Deu 19:14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour's landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:14 Thou shalt not remooue thy neighbours marke, which they of olde time haue set in thine inheritance, that thou shalt inherite in the lande, which ye Lorde thy God giueth thee to possesse it.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:14 Tu ne reculeras point les bornes de ton prochain, posées par tes ancêtres, dans l'héritage que tu auras au pays dont l'Eternel, ton Dieu, te donne la possession.(FR) 14 ׃19 לֹ֤א תַסִּיג֙ גְּב֣וּל רֽ͏ֵעֲךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֥ר גָּבְל֖וּ רִאשֹׁנִ֑ים בְּנַחֲלָֽתְךָ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּנְחַ֔ל בָּאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 19:14 "You shall not move your neighbor's boundary mark, which the ancestors have set, in your inheritance which you will inherit in the land that the Lord your God gives you to possess.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:15 ============ Deu 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:15 One witnes shall not rise against a man for any trespasse, or for any sinne, or for any fault that hee offendeth in, but at the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses shall the matter be stablished.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:15 Un seul témoin ne suffira pas contre un homme pour constater un crime ou un péché, quel qu'il soit; un fait ne pourra s'établir que sur la déposition de deux ou de trois témoins.(FR) 15 ׃19 לֹֽא־יָקוּם֩ עֵ֨ד אֶחָ֜ד בְּאִ֗ישׁ לְכָל־עָוֺן֙ וּלְכָל־חַטָּ֔את בְּכָל־חֵ֖טְא אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֽ͏ֶחֱטָ֑א עַל־פִּ֣י ׀ שְׁנֵ֣י עֵדִ֗ים א֛וֹ עַל־פִּ֥י שְׁלֹשָֽׁה־עֵדִ֖ים יָק֥וּם דָּבָֽר׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:15 "A single witness shall not rise up against a man on account of any iniquity or any sin which he has committed; on the evidence of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:16 ============ Deu 19:16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:16 If a false witnesse rise vp against a man to accuse him of trespasse,(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:16 Lorsqu'un faux témoin s'élèvera contre quelqu'un pour l'accuser d'un crime,(FR) 16 ׃19 כִּֽי־יָק֥וּם עֵד־חָמָ֖ס בְּאִ֑ישׁ לַעֲנ֥וֹת בּ֖וֹ סָרָֽה׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:16 If a malicious witness rises up against a man to accuse him of wrongdoing,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:17 ============ Deu 19:17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:17 Then both the men which striue together, shal stand before ye Lord, euen before the Priests and the Iudges, which shall be in those daies,(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:17 les deux hommes en contestation comparaîtront devant l'Eternel, devant les sacrificateurs et les juges alors en fonctions.(FR) 17 ׃19 וְעָמְד֧וּ שְׁנֵֽי־הָאֲנָשִׁ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־לָהֶ֥ם הָרִ֖יב לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה לִפְנֵ֤י הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ וְהַשֹּׁ֣פְטִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִהְי֖וּ בַּיָּמִ֥ים הָהֵֽם׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:17 then both the men who have the dispute shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges who will be in office in those days.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:18 ============ Deu 19:18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:18 And the Iudges shall make diligent inquisition: and if the witnesse be found false, and hath giuen false witnes against his brother,(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:18 Les juges feront avec soin des recherches. Le témoin est-il un faux témoin, a-t-il fait contre son frère une fausse déposition,(FR) 18 ׃19 וְדָרְשׁ֥וּ הַשֹּׁפְטִ֖ים הֵיטֵ֑ב וְהִנֵּ֤ה עֵֽד־שֶׁ֙קֶר֙ הָעֵ֔ד שֶׁ֖קֶר עָנָ֥ה בְאָחִֽיו׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:18 The judges shall investigate thoroughly, and if the witness is a false witness and he has accused his brother falsely,(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:19 ============ Deu 19:19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:19 Then shall yee doe vnto him as hee had thought to doe vnto his brother: so thou shalt take euil away forth of the middes of thee.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:19 alors vous le traiterez comme il avait dessein de traiter son frère. Tu ôteras ainsi le mal du milieu de toi.(FR) 19 ׃19 וַעֲשִׂ֣יתֶם ל֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר זָמַ֖ם לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לְאָחִ֑יו וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ הָרָ֖ע מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:19 then you shall do to him just as he had intended to do to his brother. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:20 ============ Deu 19:20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.(KJV) Deuteronomy 19:20 And the rest shal heare this, and feare, and shall henceforth commit no more any such wickednes among you.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:20 Les autres entendront et craindront, et l'on ne commettra plus un acte aussi criminel au milieu de toi.(FR) 20 ׃19 וְהַנִּשְׁאָרִ֖ים יִשְׁמְע֣וּ וְיִרָ֑אוּ וְלֹֽא־יֹסִ֨פוּ לַעֲשׂ֜וֹת ע֗וֹד כַּדָּבָ֥ר הָרָ֛ע הַזֶּ֖ה בְּקִרְבֶּֽךָ׃ Deuteronomy Deu 19:20 The rest will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such an evil thing among you.(nasb) ======= Deuteronomy 19:21 ============ Deu 19:21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.(kjv) Deuteronomy 19:21 Therefore thine eye shall have no compassion, but life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foote for foote.(Geneva) Deutéronome 19:21 Tu ne jetteras aucun regard de pitié: oeil pour oeil, dent pour dent, main pour main, pied pour pied.(FR) 21 ׃19 וְלֹ֥א תָח֖וֹס עֵינֶ֑ךָ נֶ֣פֶשׁ בְּנֶ֗פֶשׁ עַ֤יִן בְּעַ֙יִן֙ שֵׁ֣ן בְּשֵׁ֔ן יָ֥ד בְּיָ֖ד רֶ֥גֶל בְּרָֽגֶל׃ ס Deuteronomy Deu 19:21 Thus you shall not show pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
