What is mine iniquitie? And what sinne haue I committed before thy father, that he seeketh my life?(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:1 David s'enfuit de Najoth, près de Rama. Il alla trouver Jonathan, et dit: Qu'ai-je fait? quel est mon crime, quel est mon péché aux yeux de ton père, pour qu'il en veuille à ma vie?(FR) 1 ׃20 וַיִּבְרַ֣ח דָּוִ֔ד *מנוות **מִנָּי֖וֹת בָּרָמָ֑ה וַיָּבֹ֞א וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוֹנָתָ֗ן מֶ֤ה עָשִׂ֙יתִי֙ מֶֽה־עֲוֺנִ֤י וּמֶֽה־חַטָּאתִי֙ לִפְנֵ֣י אָבִ֔יךָ כִּ֥י מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ אֶת־נַפְשִֽׁי׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:1 Then David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said to Jonathan, "What have I done? What is my iniquity? And what is my sin before your father, that he is seeking my life?"(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:2 ============ 1Sa 20:2 And he said unto him, God forbid; thou shalt not die: behold, my father will do nothing either great or small, but that he will shew it me: and why should my father hide this thing from me? it is not so.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:2 And he sayde vnto him, God forbid, thou shalt not die: beholde, my father will do nothing great nor small, but he will shewe it me: and why should my father hide this thing from me? He will not doe it.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:2 Jonathan lui répondit: Loin de là! tu ne mourras point. Mon père ne fait aucune chose, grande ou petite, sans m'en informer; pourquoi donc mon père me cacherait-il celle-là? Il n'en est rien.(FR) 2 ׃20 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר ל֣וֹ חָלִילָה֮ לֹ֣א תָמוּת֒ הִנֵּ֡ה *לו־*עשה **לֹֽא־**יַעֲשֶׂ֨ה אָבִ֜י דָּבָ֣ר גָּד֗וֹל א֚וֹ דָּבָ֣ר קָטֹ֔ן וְלֹ֥א יִגְלֶ֖ה אֶת־אָזְנִ֑י וּמַדּוּעַ֩ יַסְתִּ֨יר אָבִ֥י מִמֶּ֛נִּי אֶת־הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּ֖ה אֵ֥ין זֹֽאת׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:2 He said to him, "Far from it, you shall not die. Behold, my father does nothing either great or small without disclosing it to me. So why should my father hide this thing from me? It is not so!"(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:3 ============ 1Sa 20:3 And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knoweth that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:3 And Dauid sware againe and sayd, Thy father knoweth that I haue found grace in thine eyes: therefore he thinketh, Ionathan shall not knowe it, lest he be sorie: but in deede, as the Lord liueth, and as thy soule liueth, there is but a step betweene me and death.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:3 David dit encore, en jurant: Ton père sait bien que j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, et il aura dit: Que Jonathan ne le sache pas; cela lui ferait de la peine. Mais l'Eternel est vivant et ton âme est vivante! il n'y a qu'un pas entre moi et la mort.(FR) 3 ׃20 וַיִּשָּׁבַ֨ע ע֜וֹד דָּוִ֗ד וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ יָדֹ֨עַ יָדַ֜ע אָבִ֗יךָ כִּֽי־מָצָ֤אתִי חֵן֙ בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ וַיֹּ֛אמֶר אַל־יֵֽדַע־זֹ֥את יְהוֹנָתָ֖ן פֶּן־יֵֽעָצֵ֑ב וְאוּלָ֗ם חַי־יְהוָה֙ וְחֵ֣י נַפְשֶׁ֔ךָ כִּ֣י כְפֶ֔שַׂע בֵּינִ֖י וּבֵ֥ין הַמָּֽוֶת׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:3 Yet David vowed again, saying, "Your father knows well that I have found favor in your sight, and he has said, 'Do not let Jonathan know this, or he will be grieved.' But truly as the Lord lives and as your soul lives, there is hardly a step between me and death."(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:4 ============ 1Sa 20:4 Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will even do it for thee.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:4 Then said Ionathan vnto Dauid, Whatsoeuer thy soule requireth, that I wil do vnto thee.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:4 Jonathan dit à David: Je ferai pour toi ce que tu voudras.(FR) 4 ׃20 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוֹנָתָ֖ן אֶל־דָּוִ֑ד מַה־תֹּאמַ֥ר נַפְשְׁךָ֖ וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־לָּֽךְ׃ פ Samuel1 1Sa 20:4 Then Jonathan said to David, "Whatever you say, I will do for you."(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:5 ============ 1Sa 20:5 And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, to morrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:5 And Dauid said vnto Ionathan, Behold, to morowe is the first day of the moneth, and I shoulde sit with the King at meate: but let me goe, that I may hide my selfe in the fieldes vnto the third day at euen.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:5 Et David lui répondit: Voici, c'est demain la nouvelle lune, et je devrais m'asseoir avec le roi pour manger; laisse-moi aller, et je me cacherai dans les champs jusqu'au soir du troisième jour.(FR) 5 ׃20 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד אֶל־יְהוֹנָתָ֗ן הִֽנֵּה־חֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ מָחָ֔ר וְאָנֹכִ֛י יָשֹׁב־אֵשֵׁ֥ב עִם־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ לֶאֱכ֑וֹל וְשִׁלַּחְתַּ֙נִי֙ וְנִסְתַּרְתִּ֣י בַשָּׂדֶ֔ה עַ֖ד הָעֶ֥רֶב הַשְּׁלִשִֽׁית׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:5 So David said to Jonathan, "Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I ought to sit down to eat with the king. But let me go, that I may hide myself in the field until the third evening.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:6 ============ 1Sa 20:6 If thy father at all miss me, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city: for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:6 If thy father make mention of me, then say, Dauid asked leaue of me, that he might goe to Beth-lehem to his owne citie: for there is a yeerely sacrifice for all that familie.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:6 Si ton père remarque mon absence, tu diras: David m'a prié de lui laisser faire une course à Bethléhem, sa ville, parce qu'il y a pour toute la famille un sacrifice annuel.(FR) 6 ׃20 אִם־פָּקֹ֥ד יִפְקְדֵ֖נִי אָבִ֑יךָ וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ נִשְׁאֹל֩ נִשְׁאַ֨ל מִמֶּ֤נִּי דָוִד֙ לָרוּץ֙ בֵּֽית־לֶ֣חֶם עִיר֔וֹ כִּ֣י זֶ֧בַח הַיָּמִ֛ים שָׁ֖ם לְכָל־הַמִּשְׁפָּחָֽה׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:6 If your father misses me at all, then say, 'David earnestly asked leave of me to run to Bethlehem his city, because it is the yearly sacrifice there for the whole family.'(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:7 ============ 1Sa 20:7 If he say thus, It is well; thy servant shall have peace: but if he be very wroth, then be sure that evil is determined by him.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:7 And if he say thus, It is well, thy seruant shall haue peace: but if he be angrie, be sure that wickednesse is concluded of him.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:7 Et s'il dit: C'est bien! ton serviteur alors n'a rien à craindre; mais si la colère s'empare de lui, sache que le mal est résolu de sa part.(FR) 7 ׃20 אִם־כֹּ֥ה יֹאמַ֛ר ט֖וֹב שָׁל֣וֹם לְעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ וְאִם־חָרֹ֤ה יֶֽחֱרֶה֙ ל֔וֹ דַּ֕ע כִּֽי־כָלְתָ֥ה הָרָעָ֖ה מֵעִמּֽוֹ׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:7 If he says, 'It is good,' your servant will be safe; but if he is very angry, know that he has decided on evil.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:8 ============ 1Sa 20:8 Therefore thou shalt deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of the LORD with thee: notwithstanding, if there be in me iniquity, slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:8 So shalt thou shew mercy vnto thy seruant: for thou hast ioyned thy seruant into a couenant of the Lord with thee, and if there be in me iniquitie, slay thou me: for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:8 Montre donc ton affection pour ton serviteur, puisque tu as fait avec ton serviteur une alliance devant l'Eternel. Et, s'il y a quelque crime en moi, ôte-moi la vie toi-même, car pourquoi me mènerais-tu jusqu'à ton père?(FR) 8 ׃20 וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ חֶ֙סֶד֙ עַל־עַבְדֶּ֔ךָ כִּ֚י בִּבְרִ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה הֵבֵ֥אתָ אֶֽת־עַבְדְּךָ֖ עִמָּ֑ךְ וְאִם־יֶשׁ־בִּ֤י עָוֺן֙ הֲמִיתֵ֣נִי אַ֔תָּה וְעַד־אָבִ֖יךָ לָמָּה־זֶּ֥ה תְבִיאֵֽנִי׃ פ Samuel1 1Sa 20:8 Therefore deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the Lord with you. But if there is iniquity in me, put me to death yourself; for why then should you bring me to your father?"(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:9 ============ 1Sa 20:9 And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I knew certainly that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee?(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:9 And Ionathan answered, God keepe that from thee: for if I knewe that wickednesse were concluded of my father to come vpon thee, would not I tell it thee?(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:9 Jonathan lui dit: Loin de toi la pensée que je ne t'informerai pas, si j'apprends que le mal est résolu de la part de mon père et menace de t'atteindre!(FR) 9 ׃20 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוֹנָתָ֖ן חָלִ֣ילָה לָּ֑ךְ כִּ֣י ׀ אִם־יָדֹ֣עַ אֵדַ֗ע כִּֽי־כָלְתָ֨ה הָרָעָ֜ה מֵעִ֤ם אָבִי֙ לָב֣וֹא עָלֶ֔יךָ וְלֹ֥א אֹתָ֖הּ אַגִּ֥יד לָֽךְ׃ ס Samuel1 1Sa 20:9 Jonathan said, "Far be it from you! For if I should indeed learn that evil has been decided by my father to come upon you, then would I not tell you about it?"(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:10 ============ 1Sa 20:10 Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what if thy father answer thee roughly?(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:10 Then said Dauid to Ionathan, Who shall tell me? How shall I knowe, if thy father answere thee cruelly?(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:10 David dit à Jonathan: Qui m'informera dans le cas où ton père te répondrait durement?(FR) 10 ׃20 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר דָּוִד֙ אֶל־יְה֣וֹנָתָ֔ן מִ֖י יַגִּ֣יד לִ֑י א֛וֹ מַה־יַּעַנְךָ֥ אָבִ֖יךָ קָשָֽׁה׃ ס Samuel1 1Sa 20:10 Then David said to Jonathan, "Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?"(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:11 ============ 1Sa 20:11 And Jonathan said unto David, Come, and let us go out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:11 And Ionathan sayde to Dauid, Come and let vs goe out into the fielde: and they twaine went out into the fielde.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:11 Et Jonathan dit à David: Viens, sortons dans les champs. Et ils sortirent tous deux dans les champs.(FR) 11 ׃20 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֽוֹנָתָן֙ אֶל־דָּוִ֔ד לְכָ֖ה וְנֵצֵ֣א הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה וַיֵּצְא֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ ס Samuel1 1Sa 20:11 Jonathan said to David, "Come, and let us go out into the field." So both of them went out to the field.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:12 ============ 1Sa 20:12 And Jonathan said unto David, O LORD God of Israel, when I have sounded my father about to morrow any time, or the third day, and, behold, if there be good toward David, and I then send not unto thee, and shew it thee;(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:12 Then Ionathan sayde to Dauid, O Lorde God of Israel, when I haue groped my fathers minde to morow at this time, or within this three dayes, and if it be well with Dauid, and I then send not vnto thee, and shewe it thee,(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:12 Jonathan dit à David: Je prends à témoin l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël! Je sonderai mon père demain ou après-demain; et, dans le cas où il serait bien disposé pour David, si je n'envoie vers toi personne pour t'en informer,(FR) 12 ׃20 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוֹנָתָ֜ן אֶל־דָּוִ֗ד יְהוָ֞ה אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ כִּֽי־אֶחְקֹ֣ר אֶת־אָבִ֗י כָּעֵ֤ת ׀ מָחָר֙ הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֔ית וְהִנֵּה־ט֖וֹב אֶל־דָּוִ֑ד וְלֹֽא־אָז֙ אֶשְׁלַ֣ח אֵלֶ֔יךָ וְגָלִ֖יתִי אֶת־אָזְנֶֽךָ׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:12 Then Jonathan said to David, "The Lord, the God of Israel, be witness! When I have sounded out my father about this time tomorrow, or the third day, behold, if there is good feeling toward David, shall I not then send to you and make it known to you?(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:13 ============ 1Sa 20:13 The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father to do thee evil, then I will shew it thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:13 The Lorde doe so and much more vnto Ionathan: but if my father haue minde to doe thee euill, I will shew thee also, and sende thee away, that thou mayest goe in peace: & the Lord be with thee as he hath bene with my father.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:13 que l'Eternel traite Jonathan dans toute sa rigueur! Dans le cas où mon père trouverait bon de te faire du mal, je t'informerai aussi et je te laisserai partir, afin que tu t'en ailles en paix; et que l'Eternel soit avec toi, comme il a été avec mon père!(FR) 13 ׃20 כֹּֽה־יַעֲשֶׂה֩ יְהוָ֨ה לִֽיהוֹנָתָ֜ן וְכֹ֣ה יֹסִ֗יף כִּֽי־יֵיטִ֨ב אֶל־אָבִ֤י אֶת־הָֽרָעָה֙ עָלֶ֔יךָ וְגָלִ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־אָזְנֶ֔ךָ וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֖יךָ וְהָלַכְתָּ֣ לְשָׁל֑וֹם וִיהִ֤י יְהוָה֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה עִם־אָבִֽי׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:13 If it please my father to do you harm, may the Lord do so to Jonathan and more also, if I do not make it known to you and send you away, that you may go in safety. And may the Lord be with you as He has been with my father.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:14 ============ 1Sa 20:14 And thou shalt not only while yet I live shew me the kindness of the LORD, that I die not:(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:14 Likewise I require not whiles I liue: for I dout not but thou wilt shew me the mercy of the Lord, that I die not.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:14 Si je dois vivre encore, veuille user envers moi de la bonté de l'Eternel; et si je meurs,(FR) 14 ׃20 וְלֹ֖א אִם־עוֹדֶ֣נִּי חָ֑י וְלֹֽא־תַעֲשֶׂ֧ה עִמָּדִ֛י חֶ֥סֶד יְהוָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א אָמֽוּת׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:14 If I am still alive, will you not show me the lovingkindness of the Lord, that I may not die?(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:15 ============ 1Sa 20:15 But also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:15 But I require that thou cut not off thy mercie from mine house for euer: no, not when the Lorde hath destroyed the enemies of Dauid, euery one from the earth.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:15 ne retire jamais ta bonté envers ma maison, pas même lorsque l'Eternel retranchera chacun des ennemis de David de dessus la face de la terre.(FR) 15 ׃20 וְלֹֽא־תַכְרִ֧ת אֶֽת־חַסְדְּךָ֛ מֵעִ֥ם בֵּיתִ֖י עַד־עוֹלָ֑ם וְלֹ֗א בְּהַכְרִ֤ת יְהוָה֙ אֶת־אֹיְבֵ֣י דָוִ֔ד אִ֕ישׁ מֵעַ֖ל פְּנֵ֥י הָאֲדָמָֽה׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:15 You shall not cut off your lovingkindness from my house forever, not even when the Lord cuts off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth."(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:16 ============ 1Sa 20:16 So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, Let the LORD even require it at the hand of David's enemies.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:16 So Ionathan made a bond with the house of Dauid, saying, Let the Lorde require it at the hands of Dauids enemies.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:16 Car Jonathan a fait alliance avec la maison de David. Que l'Eternel tire vengeance des ennemis de David!(FR) 16 ׃20 וַיִּכְרֹ֥ת יְהוֹנָתָ֖ן עִם־בֵּ֣ית דָּוִ֑ד וּבִקֵּ֣שׁ יְהוָ֔ה מִיַּ֖ד אֹיְבֵ֥י דָוִֽד׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:16 So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, "May the Lord require it at the hands of David's enemies."(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:17 ============ 1Sa 20:17 And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:17 And againe Ionathan sware vnto Dauid, because he loued him (for he loued him as his owne soule)(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:17 Jonathan protesta encore auprès de David de son affection pour lui, car il l'aimait comme son âme.(FR) 17 ׃20 וַיּ֤וֹסֶף יְהֽוֹנָתָן֙ לְהַשְׁבִּ֣יעַ אֶת־דָּוִ֔ד בְּאַהֲבָת֖וֹ אֹת֑וֹ כִּֽי־אַהֲבַ֥ת נַפְשׁ֖וֹ אֲהֵבֽוֹ׃ ס Samuel1 1Sa 20:17 Jonathan made David vow again because of his love for him, because he loved him as he loved his own life.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:18 ============ 1Sa 20:18 Then Jonathan said to David, To morrow is the new moon: and thou shalt be missed, because thy seat will be empty.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:18 Then said Ionathan to him, To morowe is the first day of the moneth: and thou shalt be looked for, for thy place shalbe emptie.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:18 Jonathan lui dit: C'est demain la nouvelle lune; on remarquera ton absence, car ta place sera vide.(FR) 18 ׃20 וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ל֥וֹ יְהוֹנָתָ֖ן מָחָ֣ר חֹ֑דֶשׁ וְנִפְקַ֕דְתָּ כִּ֥י יִפָּקֵ֖ד מוֹשָׁבֶֽךָ׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:18 Then Jonathan said to him, "Tomorrow is the new moon, and you will be missed because your seat will be empty.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:19 ============ 1Sa 20:19 And when thou hast stayed three days, then thou shalt go down quickly, and come to the place where thou didst hide thyself when the business was in hand, and shalt remain by the stone Ezel.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:19 Therefore thou shalt hide thy selfe three dayes, then thou shalt goe downe quickely and come to the place where thou diddest hide thy selfe, when this matter was in hand, and shalt remayne by the stone Ezel.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:19 Tu descendras le troisième jour jusqu'au fond du lieu où tu t'étais caché le jour de l'affaire, et tu resteras près de la pierre d'Ezel.(FR) 19 ׃20 וְשִׁלַּשְׁתָּ֙ תֵּרֵ֣ד מְאֹ֔ד וּבָאתָ֙ אֶל־הַמָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁר־נִסְתַּ֥רְתָּ שָּׁ֖ם בְּי֣וֹם הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂ֑ה וְיָ֣שַׁבְתָּ֔ אֵ֖צֶל הָאֶ֥בֶן הָאָֽזֶל׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:19 When you have stayed for three days, you shall go down quickly and come to the place where you hid yourself on that eventful day, and you shall remain by the stone Ezel.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:20 ============ 1Sa 20:20 And I will shoot three arrows on the side thereof, as though I shot at a mark.(KJV) 1 Samuel 20:20 And I will shoote three arrowes on the side thereof, as though I shot at a marke.(Geneva) 1 Samuel 20:20 Je tirerai trois flèches du côté de la pierre, comme si je visais un but.(FR) 20 ׃20 וַאֲנִ֕י שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת הַחִצִּ֖ים צִדָּ֣ה אוֹרֶ֑ה לְשַֽׁלַּֽח־לִ֖י לְמַטָּרָֽה׃ Samuel1 1Sa 20:20 I will shoot three arrows to the side, as though I shot at a target.(nasb) ======= 1 Samuel 20:21 ============ 1Sa 20:21 And, behold, I will send a lad, saying, Go, find out the arrows.
