And your father is an expert in warfare, and will not spend the night with the people.(nasb) ======= 2 Samuel 17:9 ============ 2Sa 17:9 Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.(KJV) 2 Samuel 17:9 Behold, he is hid now in some caue, or in some place: and though some of them be ouerthrowen at the first, yet the people shall heare, and say, The people that follow Absalom, be ouerthrowen.(Geneva) 2 Samuel 17:9 voici maintenant, il est caché dans quelque fosse ou dans quelque autre lieu. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.(KJV) 2 Samuel 17:14 Then Absalom and all the men of Israel sayde, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better, then the counsell of Ahithophel: for the Lorde had determined to destroy the good counsell of Ahithophel, that the Lorde might bring euill vpon Absalom.(Geneva) 2 Samuel 17:14 Absalom et tous les gens d'Israël dirent: Le conseil de Huschaï, l'Arkien, vaut mieux que le conseil d'Achitophel.
