And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab's children, saying,(KJV) 2 Kings 10:1 Ahab had nowe seuentie sonnes in Samaria; Iehu wrote letters, & sent to Samaria vnto the rulers of Izreel, and to the Elders, and to ye bringers vp of Ahabs children, to this effect,(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:1 Il y avait dans Samarie soixante-dix fils d'Achab. Jéhu écrivit des lettres qu'il envoya à Samarie aux chefs de Jizreel, aux anciens, et aux gouverneurs des enfants d'Achab. Il y était dit:(FR) 1 ׃10 וּלְאַחְאָ֛ב שִׁבְעִ֥ים בָּנִ֖ים בְּשֹׁמְר֑וֹן וַיִּכְתֹּב֩ יֵה֨וּא סְפָרִ֜ים וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח שֹׁמְר֗וֹן אֶל־שָׂרֵ֤י יִזְרְעֶאל֙ הַזְּקֵנִ֔ים וְאֶל־הָאֹמְנִ֥ים אַחְאָ֖ב לֵאמֹֽר׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:1 Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, the elders, and to the guardians of the children of Ahab, saying,(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:2 ============ 2Ki 10:2 Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master's sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;(KJV) 2 Kings 10:2 Nowe when this letter commeth to you, (for ye haue with you your masters sonnes, yee haue with you both charets and horses, and a defenced citie, and armour)(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:2 Maintenant, quand cette lettre vous sera parvenue, -puisque vous avez avec vous les fils de votre maître, avec vous les chars et les chevaux, une ville forte et les armes, -(FR) 2 ׃10 וְעַתָּ֗ה כְּבֹ֨א הַסֵּ֤פֶר הַזֶּה֙ אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם וְאִתְּכֶ֖ם בְּנֵ֣י אֲדֹנֵיכֶ֑ם וְאִתְּכֶם֙ הָרֶ֣כֶב וְהַסּוּסִ֔ים וְעִ֥יר מִבְצָ֖ר וְהַנָּֽשֶׁק׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:2 "Now, when this letter comes to you, since your master's sons are with you, as well as the chariots and horses and a fortified city and the weapons,(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:3 ============ 2Ki 10:3 Look even out the best and meetest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:3 Consider therefore which of your masters sonnes is best and most meete, and set him on his fathers throne, and fight for your masters house.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:3 voyez lequel des fils de votre maître est le meilleur et convient le mieux, mettez-le sur le trône de son père, et combattez pour la maison de votre maître!(FR) 3 ׃10 וּרְאִיתֶ֞ם הַטּ֤וֹב וְהַיָּשָׁר֙ מִבְּנֵ֣י אֲדֹנֵיכֶ֔ם וְשַׂמְתֶּ֖ם עַל־כִּסֵּ֣א אָבִ֑יו וְהִֽלָּחֲמ֖וּ עַל־בֵּ֥ית אֲדֹנֵיכֶֽם׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:3 select the best and fittest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house."(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:4 ============ 2Ki 10:4 But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?(KJV) 2 Kings 10:4 But they were exceedingly afraid, and saide, Behold two Kings coulde not stande before him, how shall we then stand?(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:4 Ils eurent une très grande peur, et ils dirent: Voici, deux rois n'ont pu lui résister; comment résisterions-nous?(FR) 4 ׃10 וַיִּֽרְאוּ֙ מְאֹ֣ד מְאֹ֔ד וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ הִנֵּה֙ שְׁנֵ֣י הַמְּלָכִ֔ים לֹ֥א עָמְד֖וּ לְפָנָ֑יו וְאֵ֖יךְ נַעֲמֹ֥ד אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:4 But they feared greatly and said, "Behold, the two kings did not stand before him; how then can we stand?"(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:5 ============ 2Ki 10:5 And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:5 And he that was gouernour of Ahabs house, and he that ruled the citie, and the Elders, & the bringers vp of the children sent to Iehu, saying, We are thy seruants, and will doe all that thou shalt bid vs: we will make no King: do what seemeth good to thee.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:5 Et le chef de la maison, le chef de la ville, les anciens, et les gouverneurs des enfants, envoyèrent dire à Jéhu: Nous sommes tes serviteurs, et nous ferons tout ce que tu nous diras; nous n'établirons personne roi, fais ce qui te semble bon.(FR) 5 ׃10 וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח אֲשֶׁר־עַל־הַבַּ֣יִת וַאֲשֶׁ֪ר עַל־הָעִ֟יר וְהַזְּקֵנִים֩ וְהָאֹמְנִ֨ים אֶל־יֵה֤וּא ׀ לֵאמֹר֙ עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ אֲנַ֔חְנוּ וְכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־תֹּאמַ֥ר אֵלֵ֖ינוּ נַעֲשֶׂ֑ה לֹֽא־נַמְלִ֣יךְ אִ֔ישׁ הַטּ֥וֹב בְּעֵינֶ֖יךָ עֲשֵֽׂה׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:5 And the one who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders, and the guardians of the children, sent word to Jehu, saying, "We are your servants, all that you say to us we will do, we will not make any man king; do what is good in your sight."(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:6 ============ 2Ki 10:6 Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:6 Then he wrote another letter to them, saying, If ye be mine, & wil obey my voyce, take the heads of ye men that are your masters sonnes, & come to me to Izreel by to morowe this time. (Nowe the Kings sonnes, euen seuentie persons were with the great men of the citie, which brought them vp)(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:6 Jéhu leur écrivit une seconde lettre où il était dit: Si vous êtes à moi et si vous obéissez à ma voix, prenez les têtes de ces hommes, fils de votre maître, et venez auprès de moi demain à cette heure, à Jizreel. Or les soixante-dix fils du roi étaient chez les grands de la ville, qui les élevaient.(FR) 6 ׃10 וַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב אֲלֵיהֶם֩ סֵ֨פֶר ׀ שֵׁנִ֜ית לֵאמֹ֗ר אִם־לִ֨י אַתֶּ֜ם וּלְקֹלִ֣י ׀ אַתֶּ֣ם שֹׁמְעִ֗ים קְחוּ֙ אֶת־רָאשֵׁי֙ אַנְשֵׁ֣י בְנֵֽי־אֲדֹנֵיכֶ֔ם וּבֹ֧אוּ אֵלַ֛י כָּעֵ֥ת מָחָ֖ר יִזְרְעֶ֑אלָה וּבְנֵ֤י הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ שִׁבְעִ֣ים אִ֔ישׁ אֶת־גְּדֹלֵ֥י הָעִ֖יר מְגַדְּלִ֥ים אוֹתָֽם׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:6 Then he wrote a letter to them a second time saying, "If you are on my side, and you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men, your master's sons, and come to me at Jezreel tomorrow about this time." Now the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who were rearing them.(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:7 ============ 2Ki 10:7 And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:7 And when the letter came to them, they tooke the Kings sonnes, and slewe the seuentie persons, and layde their heads in baskets, and sent them vnto him to Izreel.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:7 Quand la lettre leur fut parvenue, ils prirent les fils du roi, et ils égorgèrent ces soixante-dix hommes; puis ils mirent leurs têtes dans des corbeilles, et les envoyèrent à Jéhu, à Jizreel.(FR) 7 ׃10 וַיְהִ֗י כְּבֹ֤א הַסֵּ֙פֶר֙ אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וַיִּקְחוּ֙ אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַֽיִּשְׁחֲט֖וּ שִׁבְעִ֣ים אִ֑ישׁ וַיָּשִׂ֤ימוּ אֶת־רָֽאשֵׁיהֶם֙ בַּדּוּדִ֔ים וַיִּשְׁלְח֥וּ אֵלָ֖יו יִזְרְעֶֽאלָה׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:7 When the letter came to them, they took the king's sons and slaughtered them, seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him at Jezreel.(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:8 ============ 2Ki 10:8 And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:8 Then there came a messenger and tolde him, saying, They haue brought the heads of the Kings sonnes; he sayd, Let them lay them on two heapes at the entring in of the gate vntil the morning.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:8 Le messager vint l'en informer, en disant: Ils ont apporté les têtes des fils du roi. Et il dit: Mettez-les en deux tas à l'entrée de la porte, jusqu'au matin.(FR) 8 ׃10 וַיָּבֹ֤א הַמַּלְאָךְ֙ וַיַּגֶּד־ל֣וֹ לֵאמֹ֔ר הֵבִ֖יאוּ רָאשֵׁ֣י בְנֵֽי־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר שִׂ֣ימוּ אֹתָ֞ם שְׁנֵ֧י צִבֻּרִ֛ים פֶּ֥תַח הַשַּׁ֖עַר עַד־הַבֹּֽקֶר׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:8 When the messenger came and told him, saying, "They have brought the heads of the king's sons," he said, "Put them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until morning."(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:9 ============ 2Ki 10:9 And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?(KJV) 2 Kings 10:9 And when it was day, he went out, & stood and sayd to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, & slew him: but who slew all these?(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:9 Le matin, il sortit; et se présentant à tout le peuple, il dit: Vous êtes justes! voici, moi, j'ai conspiré contre mon maître et je l'ai tué; mais qui a frappé tous ceux-ci?(FR) 9 ׃10 וַיְהִ֤י בַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ וַיֵּצֵ֣א וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֔ד וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־כָּל־הָעָ֔ם צַדִּקִ֖ים אַתֶּ֑ם הִנֵּ֨ה אֲנִ֜י קָשַׁ֤רְתִּי עַל־אֲדֹנִי֙ וָאֶהְרְגֵ֔הוּ וּמִ֥י הִכָּ֖ה אֶת־כָּל־אֵֽלֶּה׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:9 Now in the morning he went out and stood and said to all the people, "You are innocent; behold, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:10 ============ 2Ki 10:10 Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:10 Knowe nowe that there shal fall vnto the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the Lorde hath brought to passe the things that hee spake by his seruant Eliiah.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:10 Sachez donc qu'il ne tombera rien à terre de la parole de l'Eternel, de la parole que l'Eternel a prononcée contre la maison d'Achab; l'Eternel accomplit ce qu'il a déclaré par son serviteur Elie.(FR) 10 ׃10 דְּע֣וּ אֵפ֗וֹא כִּי֩ לֹ֨א יִפֹּ֜ל מִדְּבַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אַ֔רְצָה אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה עַל־בֵּ֣ית אַחְאָ֑ב וַיהוָ֣ה עָשָׂ֔ה אֵ֚ת אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֔ר בְּיַ֖ד עַבְדּ֥וֹ אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:10 Know then that there shall fall to the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spoke concerning the house of Ahab, for the Lord has done what He spoke through His servant Elijah."(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:11 ============ 2Ki 10:11 So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:11 So Iehu slew al that remained of the house of Ahab in Izreel, & all that were great with him, and his familiars and his priestes, so that he let none of his remaine.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:11 Et Jéhu frappa tous ceux qui restaient de la maison d'Achab à Jizreel, tous ses grands, ses familiers et ses ministres, sans en laisser échapper un seul.(FR) 11 ׃10 וַיַּ֣ךְ יֵה֗וּא אֵ֣ת כָּל־הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֤ים לְבֵית־אַחְאָב֙ בְּיִזְרְעֶ֔אל וְכָל־גְּדֹלָ֖יו וּמְיֻדָּעָ֣יו וְכֹהֲנָ֑יו עַד־בִּלְתִּ֥י הִשְׁאִֽיר־ל֖וֹ שָׂרִֽיד׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:11 So Jehu killed all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men and his acquaintances and his priests, until he left him without a survivor.(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:12 ============ 2Ki 10:12 And he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing house in the way,(KJV) 2 Kings 10:12 And he arose, and departed and came to Samaria. And as Iehu was in the way by an house where the shepheards did shere,(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:12 Puis il se leva, et partit pour aller à Samarie. Arrivé à une maison de réunion des bergers, sur le chemin,(FR) 12 ׃10 וַיָּ֙קָם֙ וַיָּבֹ֔א וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ שֹׁמְר֑וֹן ה֛וּא בֵּֽית־עֵ֥קֶד הָרֹעִ֖ים בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:12 Then he arose and departed and went to Samaria. On the way while he was at Beth-eked of the shepherds,(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:13 ============ 2Ki 10:13 Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:13 He met with the brethre of Ahaziah king of Iudah, and sayd, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah, and goe downe to salute the children of the King and the children of the Queene.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:13 Jéhu trouva les frères d'Achazia, roi de Juda, et il dit: Qui êtes-vous? And they answered, "We are the relatives of Ahaziah; and we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother."(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:14 ============ 2Ki 10:14 And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:14 And he sayde, Take them aliue; they tooke them aliue, & slew them at the well beside the house where the sheepe are shorne, euen two and fourtie men, and he left not one of them.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:14 Jéhu dit: Saisissez-les vivants. Et ils les saisirent vivants, et les égorgèrent au nombre de quarante-deux, à la citerne de la maison de réunion; Jéhu n'en laissa échapper aucun.(FR) 14 ׃10 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ תִּפְשׂ֣וּם חַיִּ֔ים וַֽיִּתְפְּשׂ֖וּם חַיִּ֑ים וַֽיִּשְׁחָט֞וּם אֶל־בּ֣וֹר בֵּֽית־עֵ֗קֶד אַרְבָּעִ֤ים וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹֽא־הִשְׁאִ֥יר אִ֖ישׁ מֵהֶֽם׃ ס Kings2 2Ki 10:14 He said, "Take them alive." So they took them alive and killed them at the pit of Beth-eked, forty-two men; and he left none of them.(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:15 ============ 2Ki 10:15 And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:15 And when he was departed thence, hee met with Iehonadab the sonne of Rechab coming to meete him, and he blessed him, and sayde to him, Is thine heart vpright, as mine heart is towarde thine? And Iehonadab answered, Yea, doubtlesse. Then giue me thine hande; when he had giuen him his hande, he tooke him vp to him into the charet.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:15 Etant parti de là, il rencontra Jonadab, fils de Récab, qui venait au-devant de lui. Il le salua, et lui dit: Ton coeur est-il sincère, comme mon coeur l'est envers le tien? Et Jonadab répondit: Il l'est. S'il l'est, répliqua Jéhu, donne-moi ta main. Jonadab lui donna la main. Et Jéhu le fit monter auprès de lui dans son char,(FR) 15 ׃10 וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ מִשָּׁ֡ם וַיִּמְצָ֣א אֶת־יְהוֹנָדָב֩ בֶּן־רֵכָ֨ב לִקְרָאת֜וֹ וַֽיְבָרְכֵ֗הוּ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יו הֲיֵ֧שׁ אֶת־לְבָבְךָ֣ יָשָׁ֗ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר לְבָבִי֙ עִם־לְבָבֶ֔ךָ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוֹנָדָ֥ב יֵ֛שׁ וָיֵ֖שׁ תְּנָ֣ה אֶת־יָדֶ֑ךָ וַיִּתֵּ֣ן יָד֔וֹ וַיַּעֲלֵ֥הוּ אֵלָ֖יו אֶל־הַמֶּרְכָּבָֽה׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:15 Now when he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him, "Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?" And Jehonadab answered, "It is." Jehu said, "If it is, give me your hand." And he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot.(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:16 ============ 2Ki 10:16 And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:16 And he sayde, Come with me, and see the zeale that I haue for the Lord: so they made him ride in his charet.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:16 et dit: Viens avec moi, et tu verras mon zèle pour l'Eternel. Il l'emmena ainsi dans son char.(FR) 16 ׃10 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לְכָ֣ה אִתִּ֔י וּרְאֵ֖ה בְּקִנְאָתִ֣י לַיהוָ֑ה וַיַּרְכִּ֥בוּ אֹת֖וֹ בְּרִכְבּֽוֹ׃ Kings2 2Ki 10:16 He said, "Come with me and see my zeal for the Lord." So he made him ride in his chariot.(nasb) ======= 2 Kings 10:17 ============ 2Ki 10:17 And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spake to Elijah.(KJV) 2 Kings 10:17 And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained vnto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the worde of the Lord, which he spake to Eliiah.(Geneva) 2 Rois 10:17 Lorsque Jéhu fut arrivé à Samarie, il frappa tous ceux qui restaient d'Achab à Samarie, et il les détruisit entièrement, selon la parole que l'Eternel avait dite à Elie.(FR) 17 ׃10 וַיָּבֹא֙ שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן וַ֠יַּךְ אֶת־כָּל־הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֧ים לְאַחְאָ֛ב בְּשֹׁמְר֖וֹן עַד־הִשְׁמִיד֑וֹ כִּדְבַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֶּ֖ר אֶל־אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃ פ Kings2 2Ki 10:17 When he came to Samaria, he killed all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke to Elijah.
