C'était le premier jour du septième mois.(FR) 2 ׃8 וַיָּבִ֣יא עֶזְרָ֣א הַ֠כֹּהֵן אֶֽת־הַתּוֹרָ֞ה לִפְנֵ֤י הַקָּהָל֙ מֵאִ֣ישׁ וְעַד־אִשָּׁ֔ה וְכֹ֖ל מֵבִ֣ין לִשְׁמֹ֑עַ בְּי֥וֹם אֶחָ֖ד לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃ Nehemiah Neh 8:2 Then Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly of men, women and all who could listen with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:3 ============ Neh 8:3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:3 And he read therein in the streete that was before the watergate (from the morning vntill the midday) before men and women, and them that vnderstoode it, and the eares of all the people hearkened vnto the booke of the Lawe.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:3 Esdras lut dans le livre depuis le matin jusqu'au milieu du jour, sur la place qui est devant la porte des eaux, en présence des hommes et des femmes et de ceux qui étaient capables de l'entendre. Tout le peuple fut attentif à la lecture du livre de la loi.(FR) 3 ׃8 וַיִּקְרָא־בוֹ֩ לִפְנֵ֨י הָרְח֜וֹב אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ לִפְנֵ֣י שַֽׁעַר־הַמַּ֗יִם מִן־הָאוֹר֙ עַד־מַחֲצִ֣ית הַיּ֔וֹם נֶ֛גֶד הָאֲנָשִׁ֥ים וְהַנָּשִׁ֖ים וְהַמְּבִינִ֑ים וְאָזְנֵ֥י כָל־הָעָ֖ם אֶל־סֵ֥פֶר הַתּוֹרָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 8:3 He read from it before the square which was in front of the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of men and women, those who could understand; and all the people were attentive to the book of the law.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:4 ============ Neh 8:4 And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:4 And Ezra the Scribe stoode vpon a pulpit of wood which he had made for the preaching, and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, & Ananiah, and Vriiah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah on his right hande, and on his left hand Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, & Hashum, & Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:4 Esdras, le scribe, était placé sur une estrade de bois, dressée à cette occasion. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:6 And Ezra praysed the Lorde the great God, and all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting vp their handes: & they bowed themselues, and worshipped the Lord with their faces toward the grounde.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:6 Esdras bénit l'Eternel, le grand Dieu, et tout le peuple répondit, en levant les mains: Amen! amen! And all the people answered, "Amen, Amen!" while lifting up their hands; then they bowed low and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:7 ============ Neh 8:7 Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:7 Also Ieshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Iamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Iozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Leuites caused the people to vnderstand the lawe, and the people stood in their place.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:7 Josué, Bani, Schérébia, Jamin, Akkub, Schabbethaï, Hodija, Maaséja, Kelitha, Azaria, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaja, et les Lévites, expliquaient la loi au peuple, et chacun restait à sa place.(FR) 7 ׃8 וְיֵשׁ֡וּעַ וּבָנִ֡י וְשֵׁרֵ֥בְיָ֣ה ׀ יָמִ֡ין עַקּ֡וּב שַׁבְּתַ֣י ׀ הֽוֹדִיָּ֡ה מַעֲשֵׂיָ֡ה קְלִיטָ֣א עֲזַרְיָה֩ יוֹזָבָ֨ד חָנָ֤ן פְּלָאיָה֙ וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם מְבִינִ֥ים אֶת־הָעָ֖ם לַתּוֹרָ֑ה וְהָעָ֖ם עַל־עָמְדָֽם׃ Nehemiah Neh 8:7 Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, the Levites, explained the law to the people while the people remained in their place.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:8 ============ Neh 8:8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:8 And they read in the booke of the Lawe of God distinctly, and gaue the sense, & caused them to vnderstand the reading.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:8 Ils lisaient distinctement dans le livre de la loi de Dieu, et ils en donnaient le sens pour faire comprendre ce qu'ils avaient lu.(FR) 8 ׃8 וַֽיִּקְרְא֥וּ בַסֵּ֛פֶר בְּתוֹרַ֥ת הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים מְפֹרָ֑שׁ וְשׂ֣וֹם שֶׂ֔כֶל וַיָּבִ֖ינוּ בַּמִּקְרָֽא׃ ס Nehemiah Neh 8:8 They read from the book, from the law of God, translating to give the sense so that they understood the reading. (nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:9 ============ Neh 8:9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:9 Then Nehemiah (which is Tirshatha) and Ezra the Priest and scribe, and the Leuites that instructed the people, saide vnto all the people, This day is holie vnto ye Lord your God: mourne not, neither weepe: for all the people wept, whe they heard the words of the Lawe.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:9 Néhémie, le gouverneur, Esdras, le sacrificateur et le scribe, et les Lévites qui enseignaient le peuple, dirent à tout le peuple: Ce jour est consacré à l'Eternel, votre Dieu; ne soyez pas dans la désolation et dans les larmes! Car tout le peuple pleurait en entendant les paroles de la loi.(FR) 9 ׃8 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר נְחֶמְיָ֣ה ה֣וּא הַתִּרְשָׁ֡תָא וְעֶזְרָ֣א הַכֹּהֵ֣ן ׀ הַסֹּפֵ֡ר וְהַלְוִיִּם֩ הַמְּבִינִ֨ים אֶת־הָעָ֜ם לְכָל־הָעָ֗ם הַיּ֤וֹם קָדֹֽשׁ־הוּא֙ לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם אַל־תִּֽתְאַבְּל֖וּ וְאַל־תִּבְכּ֑וּ כִּ֤י בוֹכִים֙ כָּל־הָעָ֔ם כְּשָׁמְעָ֖ם אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הַתּוֹרָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 8:9 Then Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, "This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep." For all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the law.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:10 ============ Neh 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:10 He saide also vnto the, Go, and eate of the fat, & drinke the sweete, & send part vnto them, for whome none is prepared: for this day is holie vnto our Lorde: be ye not sorie therefore: for the ioy of the Lord is your strength.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:10 Ils leur dirent: Allez, mangez des viandes grasses et buvez des liqueurs douces, et envoyez des portions à ceux qui n'ont rien de préparé, car ce jour est consacré à notre Seigneur; ne vous affligez pas, car la joie de l'Eternel sera votre force.(FR) 10 ׃8 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֡ם לְכוּ֩ אִכְל֨וּ מַשְׁמַנִּ֜ים וּשְׁת֣וּ מַֽמְתַקִּ֗ים וְשִׁלְח֤וּ מָנוֹת֙ לְאֵ֣ין נָכ֣וֹן ל֔וֹ כִּֽי־קָד֥וֹשׁ הַיּ֖וֹם לַאֲדֹנֵ֑ינוּ וְאַל־תֵּ֣עָצֵ֔בוּ כִּֽי־חֶדְוַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה הִ֥יא מָֽעֻזְּכֶֽם׃ Nehemiah Neh 8:10 Then he said to them, "Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Car ils avaient compris les paroles qu'on leur avait expliquées.(FR) 12 ׃8 וַיֵּלְכ֨וּ כָל־הָעָ֜ם לֶאֱכֹ֤ל וְלִשְׁתּוֹת֙ וּלְשַׁלַּ֣ח מָנ֔וֹת וְלַעֲשׂ֖וֹת שִׂמְחָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֑ה כִּ֤י הֵבִ֙ינוּ֙ בַּדְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹדִ֖יעוּ לָהֶֽם׃ ס Nehemiah Neh 8:12 All the people went away to eat, to drink, to send portions and to celebrate a great festival, because they understood the words which had been made known to them. (nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:13 ============ Neh 8:13 And on the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to understand the words of the law.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:13 And on the second day the chiefe fathers of all the people, the Priests and the Leuites were gathered vnto Ezra the scribe, that he also might instruct them in the wordes of the Lawe.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:13 Le second jour, les chefs de famille de tout le peuple, les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, s'assemblèrent auprès d'Esdras, le scribe, pour entendre l'explication des paroles de la loi.(FR) 13 ׃8 וּבַיּ֣וֹם הַשֵּׁנִ֡י נֶאֶסְפוּ֩ רָאשֵׁ֨י הָאָב֜וֹת לְכָל־הָעָ֗ם הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם אֶל־עֶזְרָ֖א הַסֹּפֵ֑ר וּלְהַשְׂכִּ֖יל אֶל־דִּבְרֵ֥י הַתּוֹרָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 8:13 Then on the second day the heads of fathers' households of all the people, the priests and the Levites were gathered to Ezra the scribe that they might gain insight into the words of the law.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:14 ============ Neh 8:14 And they found written in the law which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month:(KJV) Nehemiah 8:14 And they found written in the Law, (that the Lorde had commanded by Moses) that the children of Israel should dwel in boothes in the feast of the seuenth moneth,(Geneva) Néhémie 8:14 Et ils trouvèrent écrit dans la loi que l'Eternel avait prescrite par Moïse, que les enfants d'Israël devaient habiter sous des tentes pendant la fête du septième mois,(FR) 14 ׃8 וַֽיִּמְצְא֖וּ כָּת֣וּב בַּתּוֹרָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֲשֶׁר֩ יֵשְׁב֨וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל בַּסֻּכּ֛וֹת בֶּחָ֖ג בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃ Nehemiah Neh 8:14 They found written in the law how the Lord had commanded through Moses that the sons of Israel should live in booths during the feast of the seventh month.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:15 ============ Neh 8:15 And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:15 And that they shoulde cause it to bee declared and proclaimed in all their cities, and in Ierusalem, saying, Go forth vnto the mount, and bring oliue branches, and pine branches, & branches of myrtus, and palme branches, & branches of thicke trees, to make boothes, as it is written.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:15 et proclamer cette publication dans toutes leurs villes et à Jérusalem: Allez chercher à la montagne des rameaux d'olivier, des rameaux d'olivier sauvage, des rameaux de myrte, des rameaux de palmier, et des rameaux d'arbres touffus, pour faire des tentes, comme il est écrit.(FR) 15 ׃8 וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר יַשְׁמִ֗יעוּ וְיַעֲבִ֨ירוּ ק֥וֹל בְּכָל־עָרֵיהֶם֮ וּבִירוּשָׁלַ֣͏ִם לֵאמֹר֒ צְא֣וּ הָהָ֗ר וְהָבִ֙יאוּ֙ עֲלֵי־זַ֙יִת֙ וַעֲלֵי־עֵ֣ץ שֶׁ֔מֶן וַעֲלֵ֤י הֲדַס֙ וַעֲלֵ֣י תְמָרִ֔ים וַעֲלֵ֖י עֵ֣ץ עָבֹ֑ת לַעֲשֹׂ֥ת סֻכֹּ֖ת כַּכָּתֽוּב׃ פ Nehemiah Neh 8:15 So they proclaimed and circulated a proclamation in all their cities and in Jerusalem, saying, "Go out to the hills, and bring olive branches and wild olive branches, myrtle branches, palm branches and branches of other leafy trees, to make booths, as it is written."(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:16 ============ Neh 8:16 So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of the gate of Ephraim.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:16 So the people went foorth and brought them, and made them boothes, euerie one vpon the roofe of his house, and in their courtes, and in the courtes of the house of God, and in the streete by the watergate, and in the streete of the gate of Ephraim.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:16 Alors le peuple alla chercher des rameaux, et ils se firent des tentes sur le toit de leurs maisons, dans leurs cours, dans les parvis de la maison de Dieu, sur la place de la porte des eaux et sur la place de la porte d'Ephraïm.(FR) 16 ׃8 וַיֵּצְא֣וּ הָעָם֮ וַיָּבִיאוּ֒ וַיַּעֲשׂוּ֩ לָהֶ֨ם סֻכּ֜וֹת אִ֤ישׁ עַל־גַּגּוֹ֙ וּבְחַצְרֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם וּבְחַצְר֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וּבִרְחוֹב֙ שַׁ֣עַר הַמַּ֔יִם וּבִרְח֖וֹב שַׁ֥עַר אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ Nehemiah Neh 8:16 So the people went out and brought them and made booths for themselves, each on his roof, and in their courts and in the courts of the house of God, and in the square at the Water Gate and in the square at the Gate of Ephraim.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 8:17 ============ Neh 8:17 And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness.(KJV) Nehemiah 8:17 And all the Congregation of them that were come againe out of the captiuitie made boothes, and sate vnder the boothes: for since the time of Ieshua the sonne of Nun vnto this day, had not the children of Israel done so, and there was very great ioy.(Geneva) Néhémie 8:17 Toute l'assemblée de ceux qui étaient revenus de la captivité fit des tentes, et ils habitèrent sous ces tentes. Depuis le temps de Josué, fils de Nun, jusqu'à ce jour, les enfants d'Israël n'avaient rien fait de pareil. The sons of Israel had indeed not done so from the days of Joshua the son of Nun to that day.
