Il se moqua des Juifs,(FR) 33 ׃3 וַיְהִ֞י כַּאֲשֶׁ֧ר שָׁמַ֣ע סַנְבַלַּ֗ט כִּֽי־אֲנַ֤חְנוּ בוֹנִים֙ אֶת־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה וַיִּ֣חַר ל֔וֹ וַיִּכְעַ֖ס הַרְבֵּ֑ה וַיַּלְעֵ֖ג עַל־הַיְּהוּדִֽים׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:1 Now it came about that when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became furious and very angry and mocked the Jews.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:2 ============ Neh 4:2 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?(KJV) Nehemiah 4:2 And sayde before his brethren and the armie of Samaria, thus he sayde, What doe these weake Iewes? wil they fortifie them selues? wil they sacrifice? will they finish it in a day? will they make the stones whole againe out of the heapes of dust, seeing they are burnt?(Geneva) Néhémie 4:2 et dit devant ses frères et devant les soldats de Samarie: A quoi travaillent ces Juifs impuissants? Les laissera-t-on faire? Sacrifieront-ils? Vont-ils achever? Redonneront-ils vie à des pierres ensevelies sous des monceaux de poussière et consumées par le feu?(FR) 34 ׃3 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀ לִפְנֵ֣י אֶחָ֗יו וְחֵיל֙ שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מָ֛ה הַיְּהוּדִ֥ים הָאֲמֵלָלִ֖ים עֹשִׂ֑ים הֲיַעַזְב֨וּ לָהֶ֤ם הֲיִזְבָּ֙חוּ֙ הַיְכַלּ֣וּ בַיּ֔וֹם הַיְחַיּ֧וּ אֶת־הָאֲבָנִ֛ים מֵעֲרֵמ֥וֹת הֶעָפָ֖ר וְהֵ֥מָּה שְׂרוּפֽוֹת׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:2 He spoke in the presence of his brothers and the wealthy men of Samaria and said, "What are these feeble Jews doing? Are they going to restore it for themselves? Can they offer sacrifices? Can they finish in a day? Can they revive the stones from the dusty rubble even the burned ones?"(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:3 ============ Neh 4:3 Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:3 And Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and said, Although they buylde, yet if a foxe goe vp, he shall euen breake downe their stonie wall.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:3 Tobija, l'Ammonite, était à côté de lui, et il dit: Qu'ils bâtissent seulement! Si un renard s'élance, il renversera leur muraille de pierres!(FR) 35 ׃3 וְטוֹבִיָּ֥ה הָעַמֹּנִ֖י אֶצְל֑וֹ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר גַּ֚ם אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֣ם בּוֹנִ֔ים אִם־יַעֲלֶ֣ה שׁוּעָ֔ל וּפָרַ֖ץ חוֹמַ֥ת אַבְנֵיהֶֽם׃ פ Nehemiah Neh 4:3 Now Tobiah the Ammonite was near him and he said, "Even what they are building--if a fox should jump on it, he would break their stone wall down!"(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:4 ============ Neh 4:4 Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity:(KJV) Nehemiah 4:4 Heare, O our God (for we are despised) and turne their shame vpon their owne head, and giue them vnto a pray in the lande of their captiuitie,(Geneva) Néhémie 4:4 Ecoute, ô notre Dieu, comme nous sommes méprisés! Fais retomber leurs insultes sur leur tête, et livre-les au pillage sur une terre où ils soient captifs.(FR) 36 ׃3 שְׁמַ֤ע אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ כִּֽי־הָיִ֣ינוּ בוּזָ֔ה וְהָשֵׁ֥ב חֶרְפָּתָ֖ם אֶל־רֹאשָׁ֑ם וּתְנֵ֥ם לְבִזָּ֖ה בְּאֶ֥רֶץ שִׁבְיָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:4 Hear, O our God, how we are despised! Return their reproach on their own heads and give them up for plunder in a land of captivity.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:5 ============ Neh 4:5 And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:5 And couer not their iniquitie, neither let their sinne be put out in thy presence: for they haue prouoked vs before the builders.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:5 Ne pardonne pas leur iniquité, et que leur péché ne soit pas effacé de devant toi; car ils ont offensé ceux qui bâtissent.(FR) 37 ׃3 וְאַל־תְּכַס֙ עַל־עֲוֺנָ֔ם וְחַטָּאתָ֖ם מִלְּפָנֶ֣יךָ אַל־תִּמָּחֶ֑ה כִּ֥י הִכְעִ֖יסוּ לְנֶ֥גֶד הַבּוֹנִֽים׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:5 Do not forgive their iniquity and let not their sin be blotted out before You, for they have demoralized the builders.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:6 ============ Neh 4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:6 So we built the wall, and all the wall was ioyned vnto the halfe thereof, and the heart of the people was to worke.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:6 Nous rebâtîmes la muraille, qui fut partout achevée jusqu'à la moitié de sa hauteur. Et le peuple prit à coeur ce travail.(FR) 38 ׃3 וַנִּבְנֶה֙ אֶת־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה וַתִּקָּשֵׁ֥ר כָּל־הַחוֹמָ֖ה עַד־חֶצְיָ֑הּ וַיְהִ֧י לֵ֦ב לָעָ֖ם לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃ פ Nehemiah Neh 4:6 So we built the wall and the whole wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:7 ============ Neh 4:7 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth,(KJV) Nehemiah 4:7 But when Sanballat, & Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodims heard that the walles of Ierusalem were repayred, (for the breaches began to be stopped) then they were very wroth,(Geneva) Néhémie 4:7 Mais Sanballat, Tobija, les Arabes, les Ammonites et les Asdodiens, furent très irrités en apprenant que la réparation des murs avançait et que les brèches commençaient à se fermer.(FR) 1 ׃4 וַיְהִ֣י כַאֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁמַ֣ע סַנְבַלַּ֡ט וְ֠טוֹבִיָּה וְהָעַרְבִ֨ים וְהָעַמֹּנִ֜ים וְהָאַשְׁדּוֹדִ֗ים כִּֽי־עָלְתָ֤ה אֲרוּכָה֙ לְחֹמ֣וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם כִּי־הֵחֵ֥לּוּ הַפְּרֻצִ֖ים לְהִסָּתֵ֑ם וַיִּ֥חַר לָהֶ֖ם מְאֹֽד׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:7 Now when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the Ashdodites heard that the repair of the walls of Jerusalem went on, and that the breaches began to be closed, they were very angry.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:8 ============ Neh 4:8 And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:8 And conspired all together to come & to fight against Ierusalem, and to hinder them.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:8 Ils se liguèrent tous ensemble pour venir attaquer Jérusalem et lui causer du dommage.(FR) 2 ׃4 וַיִּקְשְׁר֤וּ כֻלָּם֙ יַחְדָּ֔ו לָב֖וֹא לְהִלָּחֵ֣ם בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְלַעֲשׂ֥וֹת ל֖וֹ תּוֹעָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:8 All of them conspired together to come and fight against Jerusalem and to cause a disturbance in it. (nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:9 ============ Neh 4:9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:9 The we prayed vnto our God, & set watchmen by them, day and night, because of them.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:9 Nous priâmes notre Dieu, et nous établîmes une garde jour et nuit pour nous défendre contre leurs attaques.(FR) 3 ׃4 וַנִּתְפַּלֵּ֖ל אֶל־אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ וַנַּעֲמִ֨יד מִשְׁמָ֧ר עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם יוֹמָ֥ם וָלַ֖יְלָה מִפְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:9 But we prayed to our God, and because of them we set up a guard against them day and night.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:10 ============ Neh 4:10 And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:10 And Iudah said, The strength of the bearers is weakened, and there is much earth, so that we are not able to build the wall.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:10 Cependant Juda disait: Les forces manquent à ceux qui portent les fardeaux, et les décombres sont considérables; nous ne pourrons pas bâtir la muraille.(FR) 4 ׃4 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוּדָ֗ה כָּשַׁל֙ כֹּ֣חַ הַסַּבָּ֔ל וְהֶעָפָ֖ר הַרְבֵּ֑ה וַאֲנַ֙חְנוּ֙ לֹ֣א נוּכַ֔ל לִבְנ֖וֹת בַּחוֹמָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:10 Thus in Judah it was said, "The strength of the burden bearers is failing, Yet there is much rubbish; And we ourselves are unable To rebuild the wall."(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:11 ============ Neh 4:11 And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:11 Also our aduersaries had sayde, They shall not knowe, neither see, till we come into the middes of them and slay them, and cause the worke to cease.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:11 Et nos ennemis disaient: Ils ne sauront et ne verront rien jusqu'à ce que nous arrivions au milieu d'eux; nous les tuerons, et nous ferons ainsi cesser l'ouvrage.(FR) 5 ׃4 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ צָרֵ֗ינוּ לֹ֤א יֵדְעוּ֙ וְלֹ֣א יִרְא֔וּ עַ֛ד אֲשֶׁר־נָב֥וֹא אֶל־תּוֹכָ֖ם וַהֲרַגְנ֑וּם וְהִשְׁבַּ֖תְנוּ אֶת־הַמְּלָאכָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:11 Our enemies said, "They will not know or see until we come among them, kill them and put a stop to the work."(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:12 ============ Neh 4:12 And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:12 But when the Iewes (which dwelt beside them) came, they told vs ten times, From all places whece ye shal returne, they wil be vpon vs.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:12 Or les Juifs qui habitaient près d'eux vinrent dix fois nous avertir, de tous les lieux d'où ils se rendaient vers nous.(FR) 6 ׃4 וַֽיְהִי֙ כַּאֲשֶׁר־בָּ֣אוּ הַיְּהוּדִ֔ים הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים אֶצְלָ֑ם וַיֹּ֤אמְרוּ לָ֙נוּ֙ עֶ֣שֶׂר פְּעָמִ֔ים מִכָּל־הַמְּקֹמ֖וֹת אֲשֶׁר־תָּשׁ֥וּבוּ עָלֵֽינוּ׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:12 When the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times, "They will come up against us from every place where you may turn,"(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:13 ============ Neh 4:13 Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:13 Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall vpon the toppes of the stones, & placed the people by their families, with their swordes, their speares and their bowes.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:13 C'est pourquoi je plaçai, dans les enfoncements derrière la muraille et sur des terrains secs, le peuple par familles, tous avec leurs épées, leurs lances et leurs arcs.(FR) 7 ׃4 וָֽאַעֲמִ֞יד מִֽתַּחְתִּיּ֧וֹת לַמָּק֛וֹם מֵאַחֲרֵ֥י לַחוֹמָ֖ה *בצחחיים **בַּצְּחִיחִ֑ים וָֽאַעֲמִ֤יד אֶת־הָעָם֙ לְמִשְׁפָּח֔וֹת עִם־חַרְבֹתֵיהֶ֛ם רָמְחֵיהֶ֖ם וְקַשְּׁתֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:13 then I stationed men in the lowest parts of the space behind the wall, the exposed places, and I stationed the people in families with their swords, spears and bows.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:14 ============ Neh 4:14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:14 Then I behelde, and rose vp, and said vnto the Princes, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not afrayde of them: remember the great Lorde, and fearefull, and fight for your brethren, your sonnes, and your daughters, your wiues, and your houses.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:14 Je regardai, et m'étant levé, je dis aux grands, aux magistrats, et au reste du peuple: Ne les craignez pas! Souvenez-vous du Seigneur, grand et redoutable, et combattez pour vos frères, pour vos fils et vos filles, pour vos femmes et pour vos maisons!(FR) 8 ׃4 וָאֵ֣רֶא וָאָק֗וּם וָאֹמַ֞ר אֶל־הַחֹרִ֤ים וְאֶל־הַסְּגָנִים֙ וְאֶל־יֶ֣תֶר הָעָ֔ם אַל־תִּֽירְא֖וּ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם אֶת־אֲדֹנָ֞י הַגָּד֤וֹל וְהַנּוֹרָא֙ זְכֹ֔רוּ וְהִֽלָּחֲמ֗וּ עַל־אֲחֵיכֶם֙ בְּנֵיכֶ֣ם וּבְנֹתֵיכֶ֔ם נְשֵׁיכֶ֖ם וּבָתֵּיכֶֽם׃ פ Nehemiah Neh 4:14 When I saw their fear, I rose and spoke to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people: "Do not be afraid of them; remember the Lord who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives and your houses."(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:15 ============ Neh 4:15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:15 And when our enemies heard that it was knowen vnto vs, then God brought their counsell to nought, and we turned all againe to the wall, euery one vnto his worke.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:15 Lorsque nos ennemis apprirent que nous étions avertis, Dieu anéantit leur projet, et nous retournâmes tous à la muraille, chacun à son ouvrage.(FR) 9 ׃4 וַיְהִ֞י כַּֽאֲשֶׁר־שָׁמְע֤וּ אוֹיְבֵ֙ינוּ֙ כִּי־נ֣וֹדַֽע לָ֔נוּ וַיָּ֥פֶר הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶת־עֲצָתָ֑ם *ונשוב **וַנָּ֤שָׁב כֻּלָּ֙נוּ֙ אֶל־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה אִ֖ישׁ אֶל־מְלַאכְתּֽוֹ׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:15 When our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had frustrated their plan, then all of us returned to the wall, each one to his work.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:16 ============ Neh 4:16 And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:16 And from that day, halfe of the yong men did the labour, and the other halfe part of them helde the speares, and shieldes, and bowes, and habergins: and the rulers stoode behinde all the house of Iudah.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:16 Depuis ce jour, la moitié de mes serviteurs travaillaient, et l'autre moitié était armée de lances, de boucliers, d'arcs et de cuirasses. Les chefs étaient derrière toute la maison de Juda.(FR) 10 ׃4 וַיְהִ֣י ׀ מִן־הַיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא חֲצִ֣י נְעָרַי֮ עֹשִׂ֣ים בַּמְּלָאכָה֒ וְחֶצְיָ֗ם מַחֲזִיקִים֙ וְהָרְמָחִ֣ים הַמָּגִנִּ֔ים וְהַקְּשָׁת֖וֹת וְהַשִּׁרְיֹנִ֑ים וְהַ֨שָּׂרִ֔ים אַחֲרֵ֖י כָּל־בֵּ֥ית יְהוּדָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:16 From that day on, half of my servants carried on the work while half of them held the spears, the shields, the bows and the breastplates; and the captains were behind the whole house of Judah.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:17 ============ Neh 4:17 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:17 They that buylded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, and they that laded, did the worke with one hand, and with the other helde the sworde.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:17 Ceux qui bâtissaient la muraille, et ceux qui portaient ou chargeaient les fardeaux, travaillaient d'une main et tenaient une arme de l'autre;(FR) 11 ׃4 הַבּוֹנִ֧ים בַּחוֹמָ֛ה וְהַנֹּשְׂאִ֥ים בַּסֶּ֖בֶל עֹמְשִׂ֑ים בְּאַחַ֤ת יָדוֹ֙ עֹשֶׂ֣ה בַמְּלָאכָ֔ה וְאַחַ֖ת מַחֲזֶ֥קֶת הַשָּֽׁלַח׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:17 Those who were rebuilding the wall and those who carried burdens took their load with one hand doing the work and the other holding a weapon.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:18 ============ Neh 4:18 For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:18 For euery one of the buylders had his sworde girded on his loynes, and so buylded: and he that blewe the trumpet, was beside me.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:18 chacun d'eux, en travaillant, avait son épée ceinte autour des reins. Celui qui sonnait de la trompette se tenait près de moi.(FR) 12 ׃4 וְהַ֨בּוֹנִ֔ים אִ֥ישׁ חַרְבּ֛וֹ אֲסוּרִ֥ים עַל־מָתְנָ֖יו וּבוֹנִ֑ים וְהַתּוֹקֵ֥עַ בַּשּׁוֹפָ֖ר אֶצְלִֽי׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:18 As for the builders, each wore his sword girded at his side as he built, while the trumpeter stood near me.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:19 ============ Neh 4:19 And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:19 Then saide I vnto the Princes, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The worke is great and large, and we are separated vpon the wall, one farre from another.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:19 Je dis aux grands, aux magistrats, et au reste du peuple: L'ouvrage est considérable et étendu, et nous sommes dispersés sur la muraille, éloignés les uns des autres.(FR) 13 ׃4 וָאֹמַ֞ר אֶל־הַחֹרִ֤ים וְאֶל־הַסְּגָנִים֙ וְאֶל־יֶ֣תֶר הָעָ֔ם הַמְּלָאכָ֥ה הַרְבֵּ֖ה וּרְחָבָ֑ה וַאֲנַ֗חְנוּ נִפְרָדִים֙ עַל־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה רְחוֹקִ֖ים אִ֥ישׁ מֵאָחִֽיו׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:19 I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "The work is great and extensive, and we are separated on the wall far from one another.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 4:20 ============ Neh 4:20 In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.(KJV) Nehemiah 4:20 In what place therefore ye heare the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither vnto vs: our God shall fight for vs.(Geneva) Néhémie 4:20 Au son de la trompette, rassemblez-vous auprès de nous, vers le lieu d'où vous l'entendrez; notre Dieu combattra pour nous.(FR) 14 ׃4 בִּמְק֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֤ר תִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ אֶת־ק֣וֹל הַשּׁוֹפָ֔ר שָׁ֖מָּה תִּקָּבְצ֣וּ אֵלֵ֑ינוּ אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ יִלָּ֥חֶם לָֽנוּ׃ Nehemiah Neh 4:20 At whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there.
