Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 18:1 ============ Jer 18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,(KJV) Jeremiah 18:1 The worde which came to Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,(Geneva) Jérémie 18:1 La parole qui fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l'Eternel, en ces mots:(FR) 1 ׃18 הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ מֵאֵ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying, (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:2 ============ Jer 18:2 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:2 Arise, and go downe into the potters house, and there shall I shewe thee my words.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:2 Lève-toi, et descends dans la maison du potier; Là, je te ferai entendre mes paroles.(FR) 2 ׃18 ק֥וּם וְיָרַדְתָּ֖ בֵּ֣ית הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר וְשָׁ֖מָּה אַשְׁמִֽיעֲךָ֥ אֶת־דְּבָרָֽי׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:2 "Arise and go down to the potter's house, and there I will announce My words to you."(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:3 ============ Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:3 Then I went downe to the potters house, & behold, he wrought a worke on the wheeles.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:3 Je descendis dans la maison du potier, Et voici, il travaillait sur un tour.(FR) 3 ׃18 וָאֵרֵ֖ד בֵּ֣ית הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר *והנהו **וְהִנֵּה־**ה֛וּא עֹשֶׂ֥ה מְלָאכָ֖ה עַל־הָאָבְנָֽיִם׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and there he was, making something on the wheel. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:4 ============ Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:4 And the vessell that he made of clay, was broken in the hand of the potter. so he returned, and made it another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:4 Le vase qu'il faisait ne réussit pas, Comme il arrive à l'argile dans la main du potier; Il en refit un autre vase, Tel qu'il trouva bon de le faire.(FR) 4 ׃18 וְנִשְׁחַ֣ת הַכְּלִ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר ה֥וּא עֹשֶׂ֛ה בַּחֹ֖מֶר בְּיַ֣ד הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר וְשָׁ֗ב וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ כְּלִ֣י אַחֵ֔ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר יָשַׁ֛ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י הַיּוֹצֵ֖ר לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃ פ Jeremiah Jer 18:4 But the vessel that he was making of clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he remade it into another vessel, as it pleased the potter to make. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:5 ============ Jer 18:5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,(KJV) Jeremiah 18:5 Then the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,(Geneva) Jérémie 18:5 Et la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:(FR) 5 ׃18 וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֽוֹר׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:5 Then the word of the Lord came to me saying, (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:6 ============ Jer 18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I doe with you as this potter, sayth the Lord? beholde, as the clay is in the potters hande, so are you in mine hande, O house of Israel.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:6 Ne puis-je pas agir envers vous comme ce potier, maison d'Israël? Dit l'Eternel. Voici, comme l'argile est dans la main du potier, Ainsi vous êtes dans ma main, maison d'Israël!(FR) 6 ׃18 הֲכַיּוֹצֵ֨ר הַזֶּ֜ה לֹא־אוּכַ֨ל לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לָכֶ֛ם בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה הִנֵּ֤ה כַחֹ֙מֶר֙ בְּיַ֣ד הַיּוֹצֵ֔ר כֵּן־אַתֶּ֥ם בְּיָדִ֖י בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 18:6 "Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does?" declares the Lord." Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:7 ============ Jer 18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;(KJV) Jeremiah 18:7 I will speake suddenly against a nation or against a kingdome to plucke it vp, and to roote it out and to destroy it.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:7 Soudain je parle, sur une nation, sur un royaume, D'arracher, d'abattre et de détruire;(FR) 7 ׃18 רֶ֣גַע אֲדַבֵּ֔ר עַל־גּ֖וֹי וְעַל־מַמְלָכָ֑ה לִנְת֥וֹשׁ וְלִנְת֖וֹץ וּֽלְהַאֲבִֽיד׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:7 At one moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to uproot, to pull down, or to destroy it; (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:8 ============ Jer 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:8 But if this nation, against whom I haue pronounced, turne from their wickednesse, I will repent of the plague that I thought to bring vpon them.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:8 Mais si cette nation, sur laquelle j'ai parlé, revient de sa méchanceté, Je me repens du mal que j'avais pensé lui faire.(FR) 8 ׃18 וְשָׁב֙ הַגּ֣וֹי הַה֔וּא מֵרָ֣עָת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי עָלָ֑יו וְנִֽחַמְתִּי֙ עַל־הָ֣רָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָשַׁ֖בְתִּי לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לֽוֹ׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 18:8 if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the calamity I planned to bring on it. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:9 ============ Jer 18:9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;(KJV) Jeremiah 18:9 And I wil speake suddenly concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdome to builde it and to plant it.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:9 Et soudain je parle, sur une nation, sur un royaume, De bâtir et de planter;(FR) 9 ׃18 וְרֶ֣גַע אֲדַבֵּ֔ר עַל־גּ֖וֹי וְעַל־מַמְלָכָ֑ה לִבְנֹ֖ת וְלִנְטֹֽעַ׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:9 Or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build up or to plant it; (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:10 ============ Jer 18:10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:10 But if it do euill in my sight and heare not my voyce, I will repent of ye good that I thought to do for them.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:10 Mais si cette nation fait ce qui est mal à mes yeux, Et n'écoute pas ma voix, Je me repens du bien que j'avais eu l'intention de lui faire.(FR) 10 ׃18 וְעָשָׂ֤ה *הרעה **הָרַע֙ בְּעֵינַ֔י לְבִלְתִּ֖י שְׁמֹ֣עַ בְּקוֹלִ֑י וְנִֽחַמְתִּי֙ עַל־הַטּוֹבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָמַ֖רְתִּי לְהֵיטִ֥יב אוֹתֽוֹ׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 18:10 if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will think better of the good with which I had promised to bless it. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:11 ============ Jer 18:11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:11 Speake thou nowe therefore vnto the men of Iudah, and to the inhabitants of Ierusalem, saying, Thus saith ye Lord, Behold, I prepare a plague for you, and purpose a thing against you: returne you therefore euery one from his euill way, and make your wayes and your workes good.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:11 Parle maintenant aux hommes de Juda et aux habitants de Jérusalem, et dis: Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Voici, je prépare contre vous un malheur, Je médite un projet contre vous. Revenez chacun de votre mauvaise voie, Réformez vos voies et vos oeuvres!(FR) 11 ׃18 וְעַתָּ֡ה אֱמָר־נָ֣א אֶל־אִישׁ־יְהוּדָה֩ וְעַל־יוֹשְׁבֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם לֵאמֹ֗ר כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י יוֹצֵ֤ר עֲלֵיכֶם֙ רָעָ֔ה וְחֹשֵׁ֥ב עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם מַֽחֲשָׁבָ֑ה שׁ֣וּבוּ נָ֗א אִ֚ישׁ מִדַּרְכּ֣וֹ הָֽרָעָ֔ה וְהֵיטִ֥יבוּ דַרְכֵיכֶ֖ם וּמַעַלְלֵיכֶֽם׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:11 So now then, speak to the men of Judah and against the inhabitants of Jerusalem saying, 'Thus says the Lord, "Behold, I am fashioning calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh turn back, each of you from his evil way, and reform your ways and your deeds."'(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:12 ============ Jer 18:12 And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:12 But they sayde desperately, Surely wee will walke after our owne imaginations, and doe euery man after the stubburnnesse of his wicked heart.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:12 Mais ils disent: C'est en vain! Car nous suivrons nos pensées, Nous agirons chacun selon les penchants de notre mauvais coeur.(FR) 12 ׃18 וְאָמְר֖וּ נוֹאָ֑שׁ כִּֽי־אַחֲרֵ֤י מַחְשְׁבוֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙ נֵלֵ֔ךְ וְאִ֛ישׁ שְׁרִר֥וּת לִבּֽוֹ־הָרָ֖ע נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 18:12 But they will say, 'It's hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.'(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:13 ============ Jer 18:13 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:13 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Aske now among the heathen, who hath heard such thinges? the virgin of Israel hath done very filthily.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:13 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel: Interrogez les nations! Qui a jamais entendu pareilles choses? La vierge d'Israël a commis d'horribles excès.(FR) 13 ׃18 לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה שַֽׁאֲלוּ־נָא֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם מִ֥י שָׁמַ֖ע כָּאֵ֑לֶּה שַֽׁעֲרֻרִת֙ עָשְׂתָ֣ה מְאֹ֔ד בְּתוּלַ֖ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:13 "Therefore thus says the Lord, 'Ask now among the nations, Who ever heard the like of this? The virgin of Israel Has done a most appalling thing. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:14 ============ Jer 18:14 Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?(KJV) Jeremiah 18:14 Will a man forsake the snowe of Lebanon, which commeth from the rocke of the fielde? or shall the colde flowing waters, that come from another place, be forsaken?(Geneva) Jérémie 18:14 La neige du Liban abandonne-t-elle le rocher des champs? Ou voit-on tarir les eaux qui viennent de loin, fraîches et courantes?(FR) 14 ׃18 הֲיַעֲזֹ֥ב מִצּ֛וּר שָׂדַ֖י שֶׁ֣לֶג לְבָנ֑וֹן אִם־יִנָּתְשׁ֗וּ מַ֛יִם זָרִ֥ים קָרִ֖ים נוֹזְלִֽים׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:14 'Does the snow of Lebanon forsake the rock of the open country? Or is the cold flowing water from a foreign land ever snatched away? (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:15 ============ Jer 18:15 Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up;(KJV) Jeremiah 18:15 Because my people hath forgotten me, and haue burnt incense to vanitie, and their prophets haue caused them to stumble in their wayes from the auncient wayes, to walke in the pathes and way that is not troden,(Geneva) Jérémie 18:15 Cependant mon peuple m'a oublié, il offre de l'encens à des idoles; Il a été conduit à chanceler dans ses voies, à quitter les anciens sentiers, Pour suivre des sentiers, des chemins non frayés.(FR) 15 ׃18 כִּֽי־שְׁכֵחֻ֥נִי עַמִּ֖י לַשָּׁ֣וְא יְקַטֵּ֑רוּ וַיַּכְשִׁל֤וּם בְּדַרְכֵיהֶם֙ שְׁבִילֵ֣י עוֹלָ֔ם לָלֶ֣כֶת נְתִיב֔וֹת דֶּ֖רֶךְ לֹ֥א סְלוּלָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:15 'For My people have forgotten Me, They burn incense to worthless gods And they have stumbled from their ways, From the ancient paths, To walk in bypaths, Not on a highway, (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:16 ============ Jer 18:16 To make their land desolate, and a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished, and wag his head.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:16 To make their land desolate and a perpetual derision, so that euery one that passeth thereby, shalbe astonished and wagge his head,(Geneva) Jérémie 18:16 Ils ont fait de leur pays, un objet de désolation, d'éternelle moquerie; Tous ceux qui y passent sont stupéfaits et secouent la tête.(FR) 16 ׃18 לָשׂ֥וּם אַרְצָ֛ם לְשַׁמָּ֖ה *שרוקת **שְׁרִיק֣וֹת עוֹלָ֑ם כֹּ֚ל עוֹבֵ֣ר עָלֶ֔יהָ יִשֹּׁ֖ם וְיָנִ֥יד בְּרֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:16 To make their land a desolation, An object of perpetual hissing; Everyone who passes by it will be astonished And shake his head. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:18 Then sayde they, Come, and let vs imagine some deuice against Ieremiah: for the Lawe shal not perish from the Priest, nor counsell from the wise, nor the worde from the Prophet: come, and let vs smite him with the tongue, and let vs not giue heede to any of his words.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:18 Et ils ont dit: Venez, complotons contre Jérémie! Car la loi ne périra pas faute de sacrificateurs, Ni le conseil faute de sages, ni la parole faute de prophètes. Venez, tuons-le avec la langue; Ne prenons pas garde à tous ses discours!(FR) 18 ׃18 וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ לְכ֨וּ וְנַחְשְׁבָ֥ה עַֽל־יִרְמְיָהוּ֮ מַחֲשָׁבוֹת֒ כִּי֩ לֹא־תֹאבַ֨ד תּוֹרָ֜ה מִכֹּהֵ֗ן וְעֵצָה֙ מֵֽחָכָ֔ם וְדָבָ֖ר מִנָּבִ֑יא לְכוּ֙ וְנַכֵּ֣הוּ בַלָּשׁ֔וֹן וְאַל־נַקְשִׁ֖יבָה אֶל־כָּל־דְּבָרָֽיו׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:18 Then they said, "Come and let us devise plans against Jeremiah. Surely the law is not going to be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the sage, nor the divine word to the prophet! Come on and let us strike at him with our tongue, and let us give no heed to any of his words."(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:19 ============ Jer 18:19 Give heed to me, O LORD, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:19 Hearken vnto mee, O Lorde, and heare the voyce of them that contend with me.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:19 Ecoute-moi, Eternel! Et entends la voix de mes adversaires!(FR) 19 ׃18 הַקְשִׁ֥יבָה יְהוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י וּשְׁמַ֖ע לְק֥וֹל יְרִיבָֽי׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:19 Do give heed to me, O Lord, And listen to what my opponents are saying! (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:20 ============ Jer 18:20 Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, and to turn away thy wrath from them.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:20 Shall euill be recompensed for good? for they haue digged a pit for my soule: remember that I stood before thee, to speake good for the, and to turne away thy wrath from them.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:20 Le mal sera-t-il rendu pour le bien? Car ils ont creusé une fosse pour m'ôter la vie. Souviens-t'en, je me suis tenu devant toi, Afin de parler en leur faveur, Et de détourner d'eux ta colère.(FR) 20 ׃18 הַיְשֻׁלַּ֤ם תַּֽחַת־טוֹבָה֙ רָעָ֔ה כִּֽי־כָר֥וּ שׁוּחָ֖ה לְנַפְשִׁ֑י זְכֹ֣ר ׀ עָמְדִ֣י לְפָנֶ֗יךָ לְדַבֵּ֤ר עֲלֵיהֶם֙ טוֹבָ֔ה לְהָשִׁ֥יב אֶת־חֲמָתְךָ֖ מֵהֶֽם׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:20 Should good be repaid with evil? For they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before You To speak good on their behalf, So as to turn away Your wrath from them. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:21 ============ Jer 18:21 Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:21 Therefore, deliuer vp their children to famine, and let them drop away by the force of the sworde, and let their wiues be robbed of their children, and be widowes: and let their husbandes be put to death, and let their yong men be slayne by the sword in the battell.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:21 C'est pourquoi livre leurs enfants à la famine, Précipite-les par le glaive; Que leurs femmes soient privées d'enfants et deviennent veuves, Et que leurs maris soient enlevés par la peste; Que leurs jeunes gens soient frappés par l'épée dans le combat!(FR) 21 ׃18 לָכֵן֩ תֵּ֨ן אֶת־בְּנֵיהֶ֜ם לָרָעָ֗ב וְהַגִּרֵם֮ עַל־יְדֵי־חֶרֶב֒ וְתִֽהְיֶ֨נָה נְשֵׁיהֶ֤ם שַׁכֻּלוֹת֙ וְאַלְמָנ֔וֹת וְאַ֨נְשֵׁיהֶ֔ם יִֽהְי֖וּ הֲרֻ֣גֵי מָ֑וֶת בַּח֣וּרֵיהֶ֔ם מֻכֵּי־חֶ֖רֶב בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:21 Therefore, give their children over to famine And deliver them up to the power of the sword; And let their wives become childless and widowed. Let their men also be smitten to death, Their young men struck down by the sword in battle. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 18:22 ============ Jer 18:22 Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.(KJV) Jeremiah 18:22 Let the crye bee heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring an hoste suddenly vpon them: for they haue digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feete.(Geneva) Jérémie 18:22 Qu'on entende des cris sortir de leurs maisons, Quand soudain tu feras fondre sur eux des bandes armées! Car ils ont creusé une fosse pour me prendre, Ils ont tendu des filets sous mes pieds.(FR) 22 ׃18 תִּשָּׁמַ֤ע זְעָקָה֙ מִבָּ֣תֵּיהֶ֔ם כִּֽי־תָבִ֧יא עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם גְּד֖וּד פִּתְאֹ֑ם כִּֽי־כָר֤וּ *שיחה **שׁוּחָה֙ לְלָכְדֵ֔נִי וּפַחִ֖ים טָמְנ֥וּ לְרַגְלָֽי׃ Jeremiah Jer 18:22 May an outcry be heard from their houses, When You suddenly bring raiders upon them; For they have dug a pit to capture me And hidden snares for my feet.
