Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 22:1 ============ Jer 22:1 Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,(KJV) Jeremiah 22:1 Thus said the Lorde, Goe downe to the house of the King of Iudah, and speake there this thing,(Geneva) Jérémie 22:1 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Descends dans la maison du roi de Juda, et là prononce cette parole.(FR) 1 ׃22 כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה רֵ֖ד בֵּֽית־מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה וְדִבַּרְתָּ֣ שָׁ֔ם אֶת־הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:1 Thus says the Lord, "Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and there speak this word(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:2 ============ Jer 22:2 And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:(KJV) Jeremiah 22:2 And say, Heare the worde of the Lorde, O King of Iudah, that sittest vpon the throne of Dauid, thou and thy seruants, and thy people that enter in by these gates.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:2 Tu diras: Ecoute la parole de l'Eternel, roi de Juda, qui es assis sur le trône de David, toi, tes serviteurs, et ton peuple, qui entrez par ces portes!(FR) 2 ׃22 וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ שְׁמַ֣ע דְּבַר־יְהוָ֔ה מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה הַיֹּשֵׁ֖ב עַל־כִּסֵּ֣א דָוִ֑ד אַתָּ֤ה וַעֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ וְעַמְּךָ֔ הַבָּאִ֖ים בַּשְּׁעָרִ֥ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 22:2 and say, 'Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Judah, who sits on David's throne, you and your servants and your people who enter these gates. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:3 ============ Jer 22:3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:3 Thus saith the Lorde, Execute ye iudgement and righteousnes, and deliuer the oppressed from the hande of the oppressor, and vexe not the stranger, the fatherlesse, nor the widowe: doe no violence, nor sheade innocent blood in this place.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:3 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Pratiquez la justice et l'équité; délivrez l'opprimé des mains de l'oppresseur; ne maltraitez pas l'étranger, l'orphelin et la veuve; n'usez pas de violence, et ne répandez point de sang innocent dans ce lieu.(FR) 3 ׃22 כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה עֲשׂ֤וּ מִשְׁפָּט֙ וּצְדָקָ֔ה וְהַצִּ֥ילוּ גָז֖וּל מִיַּ֣ד עָשׁ֑וֹק וְגֵר֩ יָת֨וֹם וְאַלְמָנָ֤ה אַל־תֹּנוּ֙ אַל־תַּחְמֹ֔סוּ וְדָ֣ם נָקִ֔י אַֽל־תִּשְׁפְּכ֖וּ בַּמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:3 Thus says the Lord, "Do justice and righteousness, and deliver the one who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor. Also do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:4 ============ Jer 22:4 For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:4 For if ye do this thing, then shall the kings sitting vpon the throne of Dauid enter in by the gates of this House, and ride vpon charets, and vpon horses, both he and his seruants and his people.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:4 Car si vous agissez selon cette parole, les rois assis sur le trône de David entreront par les portes de cette maison, montés sur des chars et sur des chevaux, eux, leurs serviteurs et leur peuple.(FR) 4 ׃22 כִּ֤י אִם־עָשׂוֹ֙ תַּֽעֲשׂ֔וּ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּ֑ה וּבָ֣אוּ בְשַׁעֲרֵ֣י הַבַּ֣יִת הַזֶּ֡ה מְלָכִים֩ יֹשְׁבִ֨ים לְדָוִ֜ד עַל־כִּסְא֗וֹ רֹֽכְבִים֙ בָּרֶ֣כֶב וּבַסּוּסִ֔ים ה֥וּא *ועבדו **וַעֲבָדָ֖יו וְעַמּֽוֹ׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:4 For if you men will indeed perform this thing, then kings will enter the gates of this house, sitting in David's place on his throne, riding in chariots and on horses, even the king himself and his servants and his people. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:5 ============ Jer 22:5 But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:5 But if ye will not heare these wordes, I sweare by my selfe, saith the Lorde, that this House shalbe waste.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:5 Mais si vous n'écoutez pas ces paroles, je le jure par moi-même, dit l'Eternel, cette maison deviendra une ruine.(FR) 5 ׃22 וְאִם֙ לֹ֣א תִשְׁמְע֔וּ אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה בִּ֤י נִשְׁבַּ֙עְתִּי֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה כִּי־לְחָרְבָּ֥ה יִֽהְיֶ֖ה הַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּֽה׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 22:5 But if you will not obey these words, I swear by Myself," declares the Lord, "that this house will become a desolation."'"(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:6 ============ Jer 22:6 For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:6 For thus hath the Lorde spoken vpon the Kings house of Iudah, Thou art Gilead vnto me, & the head of Lebanon, yet surely I wil make thee a wildernes and as cities not inhabited,(Geneva) Jérémie 22:6 Car ainsi parle l'Eternel sur la maison du roi de Juda: Tu es pour moi comme Galaad, comme le sommet du Liban; Mais certes, je ferai de toi un désert, Une ville sans habitants.(FR) 6 ׃22 כִּֽי־כֹ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה עַל־בֵּית֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה גִּלְעָ֥ד אַתָּ֛ה לִ֖י רֹ֣אשׁ הַלְּבָנ֑וֹן אִם־לֹ֤א אֲשִֽׁיתְךָ֙ מִדְבָּ֔ר עָרִ֖ים לֹ֥א *נושבה **נוֹשָֽׁבוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:6 For thus says the Lord concerning the house of the king of Judah:" You are like Gilead to Me, Like the summit of Lebanon; Yet most assuredly I will make you like a wilderness, Like cities which are not inhabited. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:7 ============ Jer 22:7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, euery one with his weapons, and they shall cut downe thy chiefe cedar trees, and cast them in the fire.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:7 Je prépare contre toi des destructeurs, Chacun avec ses armes; Ils abattront tes plus beaux cèdres, Et les jetteront au feu.(FR) 7 ׃22 וְקִדַּשְׁתִּ֥י עָלֶ֛יךָ מַשְׁחִתִ֖ים אִ֣ישׁ וְכֵלָ֑יו וְכָֽרְתוּ֙ מִבְחַ֣ר אֲרָזֶ֔יךָ וְהִפִּ֖ילוּ עַל־הָאֵֽשׁ׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:7 "For I will set apart destroyers against you, Each with his weapons; And they will cut down your choicest cedars And throw them on the fire. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:8 ============ Jer 22:8 And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?(KJV) Jeremiah 22:8 And many nations shall passe by this citie, and they shall say euery man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the Lorde done thus vnto this great citie?(Geneva) Jérémie 22:8 Des nations nombreuses passeront près de cette ville, Et elles se diront l'une à l'autre: Pourquoi l'Eternel a-t-il ainsi traité cette grande ville?(FR) 8 ׃22 וְעָֽבְרוּ֙ גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֔ים עַ֖ל הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֑את וְאָֽמְרוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֔הוּ עַל־מֶ֨ה עָשָׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ כָּ֔כָה לָעִ֥יר הַגְּדוֹלָ֖ה הַזֹּֽאת׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:8 "Many nations will pass by this city; and they will say to one another, 'Why has the Lord done thus to this great city?'(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:9 ============ Jer 22:9 Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:9 Then shall they answere, Because they haue forsaken the couenant of the Lorde their God, & worshipped other gods, and serued them.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:9 Et l'on répondra: Parce qu'ils ont abandonné L'alliance de l'Eternel, leur Dieu, Parce qu'ils se sont prosternés devant d'autres dieux et les ont servis.(FR) 9 ׃22 וְאָ֣מְר֔וּ עַ֚ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָֽזְב֔וּ אֶת־בְּרִ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֛וּ לֵאלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִ֖ים וַיַּעַבְדֽוּם׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 22:9 Then they will answer, 'Because they forsook the covenant of the Lord their God and bowed down to other gods and served them.'"(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:10 ============ Jer 22:10 Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:10 Weepe not for the dead, & be not moued for them, but weepe for him that goeth out: for he shall returne no more, nor see his natiue countrey.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:10 Ne pleurez point celui qui est mort, Et ne vous lamentez pas sur lui; Pleurez, pleurez celui qui s'en va, Car il ne reviendra plus, Il ne reverra plus le pays de sa naissance.(FR) 10 ׃22 אַל־תִּבְכּ֣וּ לְמֵ֔ת וְאַל־תָּנֻ֖דוּ ל֑וֹ בְּכ֤וּ בָכוֹ֙ לַֽהֹלֵ֔ךְ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָשׁוּב֙ ע֔וֹד וְרָאָ֖ה אֶת־אֶ֥רֶץ מוֹלַדְתּֽוֹ׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 22:10 Do not weep for the dead or mourn for him, But weep continually for the one who goes away; For he will never return Or see his native land. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:11 ============ Jer 22:11 For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:(KJV) Jeremiah 22:11 For thus saith ye Lord, As touching Shallum the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah, which reigned for Iosiah his father, which went out of this place, he shall not returne thither,(Geneva) Jérémie 22:11 Car ainsi parle l'Eternel sur Schallum, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, Qui régnait à la place de Josias, son père, Et qui est sorti de ce lieu: Il n'y reviendra plus;(FR) 11 ׃22 כִּ֣י כֹ֣ה אָֽמַר־יְ֠הוָה אֶל־שַׁלֻּ֨ם בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֜הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֗ה הַמֹּלֵךְ֙ תַּ֚חַת יֹאשִׁיָּ֣הוּ אָבִ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָצָ֖א מִן־הַמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה לֹֽא־יָשׁ֥וּב שָׁ֖ם עֽוֹד׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:11 For thus says the Lord in regard to Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who became king in the place of Josiah his father, who went forth from this place," He will never return there; (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:12 ============ Jer 22:12 But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:12 But he shall die in the place, whither they haue ledde him captiue, and shall see this lande no more.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:12 Mais il mourra dans le lieu où on l'emmène captif, Et il ne verra plus ce pays.(FR) 12 ׃22 כִּ֗י בִּמְק֛וֹם אֲשֶׁר־הִגְל֥וּ אֹת֖וֹ שָׁ֣ם יָמ֑וּת וְאֶת־הָאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּ֖את לֹֽא־יִרְאֶ֥ה עֽוֹד׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 22:12 but in the place where they led him captive, there he will die and not see this land again. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:13 ============ Jer 22:13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;(KJV) Jeremiah 22:13 Wo vnto him that buildeth his house by vnrighteousnesse, and his chambers without equitie: he vseth his neighbour without wages, and giueth him not for his worke.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:13 Malheur à celui qui bâtit sa maison par l'injustice, Et ses chambres par l'iniquité; Qui fait travailler son prochain sans le payer, Sans lui donner son salaire;(FR) 13 ׃22 ה֣וֹי בֹּנֶ֤ה בֵיתוֹ֙ בְּֽלֹא־צֶ֔דֶק וַעֲלִיּוֹתָ֖יו בְּלֹ֣א מִשְׁפָּ֑ט בְּרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ יַעֲבֹ֣ד חִנָּ֔ם וּפֹעֲל֖וֹ לֹ֥א יִתֶּן־לֽוֹ׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house without righteousness And his upper rooms without justice, Who uses his neighbor's services without pay And does not give him his wages, (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:14 ============ Jer 22:14 That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:14 He saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers: so he will make him selfe large windowes, and feeling with cedar, and paint them with vermilion.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:14 Qui dit: Je me bâtirai une maison vaste, Et des chambres spacieuses; Et qui s'y fait percer des fenêtres, La lambrisse de cèdre, Et la peint en couleur rouge!(FR) 14 ׃22 הָאֹמֵ֗ר אֶבְנֶה־לִּי֙ בֵּ֣ית מִדּ֔וֹת וַעֲלִיּ֖וֹת מְרֻוָּחִ֑ים וְקָ֤רַֽע לוֹ֙ חַלּוֹנָ֔י וְסָפ֣וּן בָּאָ֔רֶז וּמָשׁ֖וֹחַ בַּשָּׁשַֽׁר׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:14 Who says, 'I will build myself a roomy house With spacious upper rooms, And cut out its windows, Paneling it with cedar and painting it bright red.'(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:15 ============ Jer 22:15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?(KJV) Jeremiah 22:15 Shalt thou reigne, because thou closest thy selfe in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink And do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:16 ============ Jer 22:16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the LORD.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:16 When he iudged the cause of the afflicted and the poore, he prospered: was not this because he knewe me, saith the Lorde?(Geneva) Jérémie 22:16 Il jugeait la cause du pauvre et de l'indigent, Et il fut heureux. N'est-ce pas là me connaître? dit l'Eternel.(FR) 16 ׃22 דָּ֛ן דִּין־עָנִ֥י וְאֶבְי֖וֹן אָ֣ז ט֑וֹב הֲלוֹא־הִ֛יא הַדַּ֥עַת אֹתִ֖י נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:16 "He pled the cause of the afflicted and needy; Then it was well. Is not that what it means to know Me?" Declares the Lord. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:17 ============ Jer 22:17 But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:17 But thine eyes and thine heart are but only for thy couetousnesse, and for to sheade innocent blood, and for oppression, and for destruction, euen to doe this.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:17 Mais tu n'as des yeux et un coeur Que pour te livrer à la cupidité, Pour répandre le sang innocent, Et pour exercer l'oppression et la violence.(FR) 17 ׃22 כִּ֣י אֵ֤ין עֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ וְלִבְּךָ֔ כִּ֖י אִם־עַל־בִּצְעֶ֑ךָ וְעַ֤ל דַּֽם־הַנָּקִי֙ לִשְׁפּ֔וֹךְ וְעַל־הָעֹ֥שֶׁק וְעַל־הַמְּרוּצָ֖ה לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 22:17 "But your eyes and your heart Are intent only upon your own dishonest gain, And on shedding innocent blood And on practicing oppression and extortion."(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:18 ============ Jer 22:18 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!(KJV) Jeremiah 22:18 Therefore thus saith the Lorde against Iehoiakim, the sonne of Iosiah king of Iudah, They shall not lament him, saying, Ah, my brother, or ah, sister: neither shall they mourne for him, saying, Ah, lord, or ah, his glorie.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:18 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel sur Jojakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda: On ne le pleurera pas, en disant: Hélas, mon frère! hélas, ma soeur! On ne le pleurera pas, en disant: Hélas, seigneur! hélas, sa majesté!(FR) 18 ׃22 לָכֵ֞ן כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אֶל־יְהוֹיָקִ֤ים בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה לֹא־יִסְפְּד֣וּ ל֔וֹ ה֥וֹי אָחִ֖י וְה֣וֹי אָח֑וֹת לֹא־יִסְפְּד֣וּ ל֔וֹ ה֥וֹי אָד֖וֹן וְה֥וֹי הֹדֹֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:18 Therefore thus says the Lord in regard to Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah," They will not lament for him: 'Alas, my brother! 'or, 'Alas, sister! 'They will not lament for him: 'Alas for the master! 'or, 'Alas for his splendor!'(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:19 ============ Jer 22:19 He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:19 He shalbe buryed, as an asse is buryed, euen drawen and cast foorth without the gates of Ierusalem.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:19 Il aura la sépulture d'un âne, Il sera traîné et jeté hors des portes de Jérusalem.(FR) 19 ׃22 קְבוּרַ֥ת חֲמ֖וֹר יִקָּבֵ֑ר סָח֣וֹב וְהַשְׁלֵ֔ךְ מֵהָ֖לְאָה לְשַׁעֲרֵ֥י יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 22:19 "He will be buried with a donkey's burial, Dragged off and thrown out beyond the gates of Jerusalem. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:20 ============ Jer 22:20 Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:20 Goe vp to Lebanon, and cry: showte in Bashan and crye by the passages: for all thy louers are destroyed.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:20 Monte sur le Liban, et crie! Elève ta voix sur le Basan! Crie du haut d'Abarim! Car tous ceux qui t'aimaient sont brisés.(FR) 20 ׃22 עֲלִ֤י הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ וּֽצְעָ֔קִי וּבַבָּשָׁ֖ן תְּנִ֣י קוֹלֵ֑ךְ וְצַֽעֲקִי֙ מֵֽעֲבָרִ֔ים כִּ֥י נִשְׁבְּר֖וּ כָּל־מְאַהֲבָֽיִךְ׃ Jeremiah Jer 22:20 "Go up to Lebanon and cry out, And lift up your voice in Bashan; Cry out also from Abarim, For all your lovers have been crushed. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 22:21 ============ Jer 22:21 I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.(KJV) Jeremiah 22:21 I spake vnto thee when thou wast in prosperitie: but thou saidest, I will not heare: this hath bene thy maner from thy youth, that thou wouldest not obey my voyce.(Geneva) Jérémie 22:21 Je t'ai parlé dans le temps de ta prospérité; Tu disais: Je n'écouterai pas.
