-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:1 Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the 1:6 namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion.(NASB-1995) עֹשֶׂה כִרְצוֹן עַצְמוֹ לֹא אִישׁ חֵמָה לֹא סֹבֵא יַיִן לֹא בַעַל מַהֲלֻמּוֹת וַאֲשֶׁר לֹא נָשָׂא לְבֶצַע נִבְזֶה נַפְשׁוֹ׃ ז Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:7 For the overseer must be above reproach as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:8---- (Hebrew) כִּי אִם־פֹּתֵחַ דְּלָתָיו לָאֹרֵחַ וְאֹהֵב כָּל־טוּב הַשָּׂם עֵינוֹ עַל־דְּרָכָיו צַדִיק וְקָדוֹשׁ וְכֹבֵשׁ אֶת־יִצְרוֹ׃ ח Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:8 but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:9---- (Hebrew) וּמַחֲזִיק בִּדְבַר אֱמֶת לְפִי הַתּוֹרָה וּבְכֵן יָדָיו רַב־לוֹ בְּתוֹרַת חַיִּים גַּם־לְהַזְהִיר וְגַם לְהוֹכִיחַ אֶת־הַקָּמִים עָלֵינוּ׃ ט Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:9 holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:10---- (Hebrew) כִּי־רַבִּים הֵם הַמֵּאֲנִים לִשְׁמֹעַ וְהַטֵּף יַטִּיפוּן מַשְׂאוֹת שָׁוְא וּמַדּוּחִים וְעַל־יֶתֶר מִבְּנֵי הַנִּמּוֹלִים׃ י Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:10 For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:11---- (Hebrew) אֲשֶׁר הִסָּכֵר יִסָּכֵר פִּיהֶם כִּי הֵם הַהֹפְכִים בָּתִּים שְׁלֵמִים וּדְבָרִים יְלַמְּדוּן אֲשֶׁר לֹא כַדָּת עֵקֶב בֶּצַע נִבְזֶה׃ יא Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:12---- (Hebrew) וּכְבָר אָמַר אֶחָד מֵהֶם וְהוּא נָבִיא מִקִּרְבָּם הַקְּרֵטִים אַנְשֵׁי כָזָב הֵם מֵעוֹלָם דִּמְיֹנָם כְּחַיְתוֹ יַעַר וּבִטְנָם בֶּטֶן עַצְלוּת׃ יב Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:13---- (Hebrew) הָעֵדוּת הַזֹּאת עֵדוּת אֱמֶת וְעַל־כֵּן הוֹכֵחַ תּוֹכִיחַ אֹתָם תּוֹכֵחָה נִמְרָצָה לְמַעַן יַחֲלִיפוּ כֹחַ בָּאֱמוּנָה׃ יג Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:13 This testimony is true.
