-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:1 Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:2---- (Hebrew) בִּתִקְוַת חַיֵּי עוֹלָם אֲשֶׁר הִבְטִיחַ הָאֵל הַנֶּאֱמָן מֵרֹאשׁ מִקַּדְמֵי־אָרץֶ׃ ב Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:3---- (Hebrew) וְאֶת־דְּבָרוֹ גִלָּה בְעִתּוֹ עַל־פִּי קְרִיאַת הַבְּשׂרָה הֲלֹא הִיא אֲשֶׁר ְָהקְדָה אִתִּי בִּפְקֻדַּת אֵל מוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ׃ ג Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:3 but at the proper time manifested, even His word, in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:4---- (Hebrew) אֶל־טִיטוֹס בְּנִי כְּבֵן מֵחֲלָצַי בִּמְנָת חֵלֶק אֱמוּנָתֵנוּ חֶסֶד וְרַחֲמִים וְשָׁלוֹם לְךָ מֵאֵת הָאֱלֹהִים הָאָב וּמֵאֵת אֲדוֹנֵינוּ יֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ מוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ׃ ד Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:4 To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:5---- (Hebrew) בַּעֲבוּר זֹאת הִנַּחְתִּיךָ בִקְרֵיטִי לְמַלֹּאת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר יֶחְסַר שָׁם וּלְהָקִים זִקְנֵי הָעֵדָה בְּכָל־עִיר וָעִיר כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִיךָ׃ ה Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:5 For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:6---- (Hebrew) כִּי־יִהְיֶה אִישׁ נָקִי וְאֵין־בּוֹ שֶׁמֶץ דָּבָר בַּעַל־אִשָּׁה אַחַת וּבָנָיו מַאֲמִינִים וְאֵין דִּבָּתָם רָעָה כִּי בְנֵי בְלִיַּעַל הֵם אוֹ בְנֵי־מֶרִי׃ ו Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:6 namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:7---- (Hebrew) כִּי עַל־רֹאשׁ הָעֵדָה לִהְיוֹת נָקִי מִכָּל־שֶׁמֶץ דָּבָר כְּבֶן־מֶשֶׁק בֵּית־אֱלֹהִים לֹא עֹשֶׂה כִרְצוֹן עַצְמוֹ לֹא אִישׁ חֵמָה לֹא סֹבֵא יַיִן לֹא בַעַל מַהֲלֻמּוֹת וַאֲשֶׁר לֹא נָשָׂא לְבֶצַע נִבְזֶה נַפְשׁוֹ׃ ז Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:7 For the overseer must be above reproach as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:8---- (Hebrew) כִּי אִם־פֹּתֵחַ דְּלָתָיו לָאֹרֵחַ וְאֹהֵב כָּל־טוּב הַשָּׂם עֵינוֹ עַל־דְּרָכָיו צַדִיק וְקָדוֹשׁ וְכֹבֵשׁ אֶת־יִצְרוֹ׃ ח Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:8 but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:9---- (Hebrew) וּמַחֲזִיק בִּדְבַר אֱמֶת לְפִי הַתּוֹרָה וּבְכֵן יָדָיו רַב־לוֹ בְּתוֹרַת חַיִּים גַּם־לְהַזְהִיר וְגַם לְהוֹכִיחַ אֶת־הַקָּמִים עָלֵינוּ׃ ט Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:9 holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:10---- (Hebrew) כִּי־רַבִּים הֵם הַמֵּאֲנִים לִשְׁמֹעַ וְהַטֵּף יַטִּיפוּן מַשְׂאוֹת שָׁוְא וּמַדּוּחִים וְעַל־יֶתֶר מִבְּנֵי הַנִּמּוֹלִים׃ י Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:10 For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:11---- (Hebrew) אֲשֶׁר הִסָּכֵר יִסָּכֵר פִּיהֶם כִּי הֵם הַהֹפְכִים בָּתִּים שְׁלֵמִים וּדְבָרִים יְלַמְּדוּן אֲשֶׁר לֹא כַדָּת עֵקֶב בֶּצַע נִבְזֶה׃ יא Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:12---- (Hebrew) וּכְבָר אָמַר אֶחָד מֵהֶם וְהוּא נָבִיא מִקִּרְבָּם הַקְּרֵטִים אַנְשֵׁי כָזָב הֵם מֵעוֹלָם דִּמְיֹנָם כְּחַיְתוֹ יַעַר וּבִטְנָם בֶּטֶן עַצְלוּת׃ יב Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:13---- (Hebrew) הָעֵדוּת הַזֹּאת עֵדוּת אֱמֶת וְעַל־כֵּן הוֹכֵחַ תּוֹכִיחַ אֹתָם תּוֹכֵחָה נִמְרָצָה לְמַעַן יַחֲלִיפוּ כֹחַ בָּאֱמוּנָה׃ יג Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:13 This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:14---- (Hebrew) וְלֹא יָשִׂימוּ עוֹד לֵב אֶל־אַגָּדוֹת הַיְּהוּדִים וְאֶל־מִצְוֹת אֲנָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר יַסְתִּירוּ פָנִים מִן־הָאֱמֶת׃ יד Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:14 not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:15---- (Hebrew) הַכֹּל טָהוֹר לַטְּהוֹרִים אַךְ לִטְמֵאִים וְלִבְנֵי בִלְי־אֱמוּנָה אֵין טָהוֹר מְאוּמָה כִּי גַם־לִבָּם וְדַעְתָּם טִמְאָתָם בָּם׃ טו Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 1:16---- (Hebrew) בְּפִיהֶם יַגִּידוּ כִּי־דַעַת אֱלֹהִים אִתָּם וּבְמַעֲשֵׂיהֶם יְכַזְּבוּ־לוֹ כִּי נִתְעָבִים הֵם וְלֹא אֵמֻן בָּם וְלֹא־יִצְלְחוּ לְכָל־מַעֲשֶׂה טּוֹב׃ טז Titus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tit 1:16 They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Titus 2:1 ---- written 65 A.D.---- |
