Today's Date: ======= Genesis 12:1 ============ Gen 12:1 Now the Lord said to Abram, "Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father's house, To the land which I will show you;(nasb) Gen 12:1 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος τῷ Αβραμ ἔξελθε ἐκ τῆς γῆς σου καὶ ἐκ τῆς συγγενείας σου καὶ ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ πατρός σου εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ἄν σοι δείξω (lxx) Gen 12:1 Dixit autem Dominus ad Abram: Egredere de terra tua, et de cognatione tua, et de domo patris tui, et veni in terram quam monstrabo tibi.(vulgate) Gen 12:1 Und der HERR sprach zu Abram: Gehe aus deinem Vaterlande und von deiner Freundschaft und aus deines Vaters Hause in ein Land, das ich dir zeigen will.(dhs) Gen 12:1 Now the Lord had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:2 ============ Gen 12:2 And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing;(nasb) Gen 12:2 καὶ ποιήσω σε εἰς ἔθνος μέγα καὶ εὐλογήσω σε καὶ μεγαλυνῶ τὸ ὄνομά σου καὶ ἔσῃ εὐλογητός (lxx) Gen 12:2 Faciamque te in gentem magnam, et benedicam tibi, et magnificabo nomen tuum, erisque benedictus.(vulgate) Gen 12:2 Und ich will dich zum großen Volk machen und will dich segnen und dir einen großen Namen machen, und sollst ein Segen sein.(dhs) Gen 12:2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:3 ============ Gen 12:3 And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."(nasb) Gen 12:3 καὶ εὐλογήσω τοὺς εὐλογοῦντάς σε καὶ τοὺς καταρωμένους σε καταράσομαι καὶ ἐνευλογηθήσονται ἐν σοὶ πᾶσαι αἱ φυλαὶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) Gen 12:3 Benedicam benedicentibus tibi, et maledicam maledicentibus tibi, atque in te benedicentur universæ cognationes terræ.(vulgate) Gen 12:3 Ich will segnen, die dich segnen, und verfluchen, die dich verfluchen; und in dir sollen gesegnet werden alle Geschlechter auf Erden.(dhs) Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:4 ============ Gen 12:4 So Abram went forth as the Lord had spoken to him; and Lot went with him. Now Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.(nasb) Gen 12:4 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Αβραμ καθάπερ ἐλάλησεν αὐτῷ κύριος καὶ ᾤχετο μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ Λωτ Αβραμ δὲ ἦν ἐτῶν ἑβδομήκοντα πέντε ὅτε ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ Χαρραν (lxx) Gen 12:4 Egressus est itaque Abram sicut præceperat ei Dominus, et ivit cum eo Lot: septuaginta quinque annorum erat Abram cum egrederetur de Haran.(vulgate) Gen 12:4 Da zog Abram aus, wie der HERR zu ihm gesagt hatte, und Lot zog mit ihm. Abram aber ward fünfundsiebzig Jahre alt, da er aus Haran zog.(dhs) Gen 12:4 So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:5 ============ Gen 12:5 Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew, and all their possessions which they had accumulated, and the persons which they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan; thus they came to the land of Canaan.(nasb) Gen 12:5 καὶ ἔλαβεν Αβραμ τὴν Σαραν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸν Λωτ υἱὸν τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτῶν ὅσα ἐκτήσαντο καὶ πᾶσαν ψυχήν ἣν ἐκτήσαντο ἐν Χαρραν καὶ ἐξήλθοσαν πορευθῆναι εἰς γῆν Χανααν καὶ ἦλθον εἰς γῆν Χανααν (lxx) Gen 12:5 Tulitque Sarai uxorem suam, et Lot filium fratris sui, universamque substantiam quam possederant, et animas quas fecerant in Haran: et egressi sunt ut irent in terram Chanaan. Cumque venissent in eam,(vulgate) Gen 12:5 Also nahm Abram sein Weib Sarai und Lot, seines Bruders Sohn, mit aller ihrer Habe, die sie gewonnen hatten, und die Seelen, die sie erworben hatten in Haran; und zogen aus, zu reisen in das Land Kanaan. Und als sie gekommen waren in dasselbe Land,(dhs) Gen 12:5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:6 ============ Gen 12:6 Abram passed through the land as far as the site of Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. Now the Canaanite was then in the land.(nasb) Gen 12:6 καὶ διώδευσεν Αβραμ τὴν γῆν εἰς τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς ἕως τοῦ τόπου Συχεμ ἐπὶ τὴν δρῦν τὴν ὑψηλήν οἱ δὲ Χαναναῖοι τότε κατῴκουν τὴν γῆν (lxx) Gen 12:6 pertransivit Abram terram usque ad locum Sichem, usque ad convallem illustrem: Chananæus autem tunc erat in terra.(vulgate) Gen 12:6 zog Abram durch bis an die Stätte Sichem und an den Hain More; es wohnten aber zu der Zeit die Kanaaniter im Lande.(dhs) Gen 12:6 Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, as far as the terebinth tree of Moreh. And the Canaanites were then in the land.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:7 ============ Gen 12:7 The Lord appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants I will give this land." So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.(nasb) Gen 12:7 καὶ ὤφθη κύριος τῷ Αβραμ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ τῷ σπέρματί σου δώσω τὴν γῆν ταύτην καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐκεῖ Αβραμ θυσιαστήριον κυρίῳ τῷ ὀφθέντι αὐτῷ (lxx) Gen 12:7 Apparuit autem Dominus Abram, et dixit ei: Semini tuo dabo terram hanc. Qui ædificavit ibi altare Domino, qui apparuerat ei.(vulgate) Gen 12:7 Da erschien der HERR dem Abram und sprach: Deinem Samen will ich dies Land geben. Und er baute daselbst einen Altar dem HERRN, der ihm erschienen war.(dhs) Gen 12:7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants I will give this land." And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:8 ============ Gen 12:8 Then he proceeded from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord.(nasb) Gen 12:8 καὶ ἀπέστη ἐκεῖθεν εἰς τὸ ὄρος κατ᾽ ἀνατολὰς Βαιθηλ καὶ ἔστησεν ἐκεῖ τὴν σκηνὴν αὐτοῦ Βαιθηλ κατὰ θάλασσαν καὶ Αγγαι κατ᾽ ἀνατολάς καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐκεῖ θυσιαστήριον τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἐπεκαλέσατο ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου (lxx) Gen 12:8 Et inde transgrediens ad montem, qui erat contra orientem Bethel, tetendit ibi tabernaculum suum, ab occidente habens Bethel, et ab oriente Hai: ædificavit quoque ibi altare Domino, et invocavit nomen ejus.(vulgate) Gen 12:8 Darnach brach er auf von dort an einen Berg, der lag gegen Morgen von der Stadt Beth-El, und richtete seine Hütte auf, daß er Beth-El gegen Abend und Ai gegen Morgen hatte, und baute daselbst dem HERRN einen Altar und predigte von dem Namen des HERRN.(dhs) Gen 12:8 And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:9 ============ Gen 12:9 Abram journeyed on, continuing toward the Negev.(nasb) Gen 12:9 καὶ ἀπῆρεν Αβραμ καὶ πορευθεὶς ἐστρατοπέδευσεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ (lxx) Gen 12:9 Perrexitque Abram vadens, et ultra progrediens ad meridiem.~(vulgate) Gen 12:9 Darnach zog Abram weiter und zog aus ins Mittagsland.(dhs) Gen 12:9 So Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:10 ============ Gen 12:10 Now there was a famine in the land; so Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land.(nasb) Gen 12:10 καὶ ἐγένετο λιμὸς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ κατέβη Αβραμ εἰς Αἴγυπτον παροικῆσαι ἐκεῖ ὅτι ἐνίσχυσεν ὁ λιμὸς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) Gen 12:10 Facta est autem fames in terra: descenditque Abram in Ægyptum, ut peregrinaretur ibi: prævaluerat enim fames in terra.(vulgate) Gen 12:10 Es kam aber eine Teuerung in das Land. Da zog Abram hinab nach Ägypten, daß er sich daselbst als ein Fremdling aufhielte; denn die Teuerung war groß im Lande.(dhs) Gen 12:10 Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to dwell there, for the famine was severe in the land.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:11 ============ Gen 12:11 It came about when he came near to Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife, "See now, I know that you are a beautiful woman;(nasb) Gen 12:11 ἐγένετο δὲ ἡνίκα ἤγγισεν Αβραμ εἰσελθεῖν εἰς Αἴγυπτον εἶπεν Αβραμ Σαρα τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ γινώσκω ἐγὼ ὅτι γυνὴ εὐπρόσωπος εἶ (lxx) Gen 12:11 Cumque prope esset ut ingrederetur Ægyptum, dixit Sarai uxori suæ: Novi quod pulchra sis mulier:(vulgate) Gen 12:11 Und da er nahe an Ägypten kam, sprach er zu seinem Weib Sarai: Siehe, ich weiß, daß du ein schönes Weib von Angesicht bist.(dhs) Gen 12:11 And it came to pass, when he was close to entering Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife, "Indeed I know that you are a woman of beautiful countenance.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:12 ============ Gen 12:12 and when the Egyptians see you, they will say, 'This is his wife'; and they will kill me, but they will let you live.(nasb) Gen 12:12 ἔσται οὖν ὡς ἂν ἴδωσίν σε οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ἐροῦσιν ὅτι γυνὴ αὐτοῦ αὕτη καὶ ἀποκτενοῦσίν με σὲ δὲ περιποιήσονται (lxx) Gen 12:12 et quod cum viderint te Ægyptii, dicturi sunt: Uxor ipsius est: et interficient me, et te reservabunt.(vulgate) Gen 12:12 Wenn dich nun die Ägypter sehen werden, so werden sie sagen: Das ist sein Weib, und werden mich erwürgen, und dich leben lassen.(dhs) Gen 12:12 Therefore it will happen, when the Egyptians see you, that they will say, 'This is his wife'; and they will kill me, but they will let you live.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:13 ============ Gen 12:13 Please say that you are my sister so that it may go well with me because of you, and that I may live on account of you."(nasb) Gen 12:13 εἰπὸν οὖν ὅτι ἀδελφὴ αὐτοῦ εἰμι ὅπως ἂν εὖ μοι γένηται διὰ σέ καὶ ζήσεται ἡ ψυχή μου ἕνεκεν σοῦ (lxx) Gen 12:13 Dic ergo, obsecro te, quod soror mea sis: ut bene sit mihi propter te, et vivat anima mea ob gratiam tui.(vulgate) Gen 12:13 Sage doch, du seist meine Schwester, auf daß mir's wohl gehe um deinetwillen und meine Seele am Leben bleibe um deinetwillen.(dhs) Gen 12:13 Please say you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:14 ============ Gen 12:14 It came about when Abram came into Egypt, the Egyptians saw that the woman was very beautiful.(nasb) Gen 12:14 ἐγένετο δὲ ἡνίκα εἰσῆλθεν Αβραμ εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἰδόντες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι τὴν γυναῖκα ὅτι καλὴ ἦν σφόδρα (lxx) Gen 12:14 Cum itaque ingressus esset Abram Ægyptum, viderunt Ægyptii mulierem quod esset pulchra nimis.(vulgate) Gen 12:14 Als nun Abram nach Ägypten kam, sahen die Ägypter das Weib, daß sie sehr schön war.(dhs) Gen 12:14 So it was, when Abram came into Egypt, that the Egyptians saw the woman, that she was very beautiful.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:15 ============ Gen 12:15 Pharaoh's officials saw her and praised her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.(nasb) Gen 12:15 καὶ εἶδον αὐτὴν οἱ ἄρχοντες Φαραω καὶ ἐπῄνεσαν αὐτὴν πρὸς Φαραω καὶ εἰσήγαγον αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν οἶκον Φαραω (lxx) Gen 12:15 Et nuntiaverunt principes Pharaoni, et laudaverunt eam apud illum: et sublata est mulier in domum Pharaonis.(vulgate) Gen 12:15 Und die Fürsten des Pharao sahen sie und priesen sie vor ihm. Da ward sie in des Pharao Haus gebracht.(dhs) Gen 12:15 The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken to Pharaoh's house.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:16 ============ Gen 12:16 Therefore he treated Abram well for her sake; and gave him sheep and oxen and donkeys and male and female servants and female donkeys and camels.(nasb) Gen 12:16 καὶ τῷ Αβραμ εὖ ἐχρήσαντο δι᾽ αὐτήν καὶ ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ πρόβατα καὶ μόσχοι καὶ ὄνοι παῖδες καὶ παιδίσκαι ἡμίονοι καὶ κάμηλοι (lxx) Gen 12:16 Abram vero bene usi sunt propter illam: fueruntque ei oves et boves et asini, et servi et famulæ, et asinæ et cameli.(vulgate) Gen 12:16 Und er tat Abram Gutes um ihretwillen. Und er hatte Schafe, Rinder, Esel, Knechte und Mägde, Eselinnen und Kamele.(dhs) Gen 12:16 He treated Abram well for her sake. He had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male and female servants, female donkeys, and camels.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:17 ============ Gen 12:17 But the Lord struck Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.(nasb) Gen 12:17 καὶ ἤτασεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν Φαραω ἐτασμοῖς μεγάλοις καὶ πονηροῖς καὶ τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ περὶ Σαρας τῆς γυναικὸς Αβραμ (lxx) Gen 12:17 Flagellavit autem Dominus Pharaonem plagis maximis, et domum ejus, propter Sarai uxorem Abram.(vulgate) Gen 12:17 Aber der HERR plagte den Pharao mit großen Plagen und sein Haus um Sarais, Abrams Weibes, willen.(dhs) Gen 12:17 But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:18 ============ Gen 12:18 Then Pharaoh called Abram and said, "What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?(nasb) Gen 12:18 καλέσας δὲ Φαραω τὸν Αβραμ εἶπεν τί τοῦτο ἐποίησάς μοι ὅτι οὐκ ἀπήγγειλάς μοι ὅτι γυνή σού ἐστιν (lxx) Gen 12:18 Vocavitque Pharao Abram, et dixit ei: Quidnam est hoc quod fecisti mihi? quare non indicasti quod uxor tua esset?(vulgate) Gen 12:18 Da rief Pharao Abram zu sich und sprach zu ihm: Warum hast du mir das getan? Warum sagtest du mir's nicht, daß sie dein Weib wäre?(dhs) Gen 12:18 And Pharaoh called Abram and said, "What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:19 ============ Gen 12:19 Why did you say, 'She is my sister,' so that I took her for my wife? Now then, here is your wife, take her and go."(nasb) Gen 12:19 ἵνα τί εἶπας ὅτι ἀδελφή μού ἐστιν καὶ ἔλαβον αὐτὴν ἐμαυτῷ εἰς γυναῖκα καὶ νῦν ἰδοὺ ἡ γυνή σου ἐναντίον σου λαβὼν ἀπότρεχε (lxx) Gen 12:19 quam ob causam dixisti esse sororem tuam, ut tollerem eam mihi in uxorem? Nunc igitur ecce conjux tua, accipe eam, et vade.(vulgate) Gen 12:19 Warum sprachst du denn, sie wäre deine Schwester? Derhalben ich sie mir zum Weibe nehmen wollte. Und nun siehe, da hast du dein Weib; nimm sie und ziehe hin.(dhs) Gen 12:19 Why did you say, 'She is my sister'? I might have taken her as my wife. Now therefore, here is your wife; take her and go your way."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 12:20 ============ Gen 12:20 Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him; and they escorted him away, with his wife and all that belonged to him.(nasb) Gen 12:20 καὶ ἐνετείλατο Φαραω ἀνδράσιν περὶ Αβραμ συμπροπέμψαι αὐτὸν καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἦν αὐτῷ καὶ Λωτ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Gen 12:20 Præcepitque Pharao super Abram viris: et deduxerunt eum, et uxorem illius, et omnia quæ habebat.(vulgate) Gen 12:20 Und Pharao befahl seinen Leuten über ihm, daß sie ihn geleiteten und sein Weib und alles, was er hatte.(dhs) Gen 12:20 So Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him; and they sent him away, with his wife and all that he had.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:1 ============ top of the page
