Today's Date: ======= Joshua 22:1 ============ Jos 22:1 Then Joshua summoned the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh,(nasb) Jos 22:1 τότε συνεκάλεσεν Ἰησοῦς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ρουβην καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς Γαδ καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση (lxx) Jos 22:1 Eodem tempore vocavit Josue Rubenitas, et Gaditas, et dimidiam tribum Manasse,(vulgate) Jos 22:1 Da rief Josua die Rubeniter und Gaditer und den halben Stamm Manasse(dhs) Jos 22:1 Then Joshua called the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:2 ============ Jos 22:2 and said to them, "You have kept all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, and have listened to my voice in all that I commanded you.(nasb) Jos 22:2 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς ἀκηκόατε πάντα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς κυρίου καὶ ἐπηκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς μου κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν (lxx) Jos 22:2 dixitque ad eos: Fecistis omnia quæ præcepit vobis Moyses famulus Domini: mihi quoque in omnibus obedistis,(vulgate) Jos 22:2 und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr habt alles gehalten, was euch Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, geboten hat, und gehorcht meiner Stimme in allem, was ich euch geboten habe.(dhs) Jos 22:2 and said to them: "You have kept all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:3 ============ Jos 22:3 You have not forsaken your brothers these many days to this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the Lord your God.(nasb) Jos 22:3 οὐκ ἐγκαταλελοίπατε τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν ταύτας τὰς ἡμέρας καὶ πλείους ἕως τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας ἐφυλάξασθε τὴν ἐντολὴν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν (lxx) Jos 22:3 nec reliquistis fratres vestros longo tempore, usque in præsentem diem, custodientes imperium Domini Dei vestri.(vulgate) Jos 22:3 Ihr habt eure Brüder nicht verlassen eine lange Zeit her bis auf diesen Tag und habt gehalten an dem Gebot des HERRN, eures Gottes.(dhs) Jos 22:3 You have not left your brethren these many days, up to this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the Lord your God.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:4 ============ Jos 22:4 And now the Lord your God has given rest to your brothers, as He spoke to them; therefore turn now and go to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you beyond the Jordan.(nasb) Jos 22:4 νῦν δὲ κατέπαυσεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ἡμῶν ὃν τρόπον εἶπεν αὐτοῖς νῦν οὖν ἀποστραφέντες ἀπέλθατε εἰς τοὺς οἴκους ὑμῶν καὶ εἰς τὴν γῆν τῆς κατασχέσεως ὑμῶν ἣν ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου (lxx) Jos 22:4 Quia igitur dedit Dominus Deus vester fratribus vestris quietem et pacem, sicut pollicitus est: revertimini, et ite in tabernacula vestra, et in terram possessionis, quam tradidit vobis Moyses famulus Domini trans Jordanem:(vulgate) Jos 22:4 Weil nun der HERR, euer Gott, hat eure Brüder zur Ruhe gebracht, wie er ihnen geredet hat, so wendet euch nun und ziehet hin in eure Hütten im Lande eures Erbes, das euch Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, gegeben hat jenseit des Jordans.(dhs) Jos 22:4 And now the Lord your God has given rest to your brethren, as He promised them; now therefore, return and go to your tents and to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side of the Jordan.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:5 ============ Jos 22:5 Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God and walk in all His ways and keep His commandments and hold fast to Him and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul."(nasb) Jos 22:5 ἀλλὰ φυλάξασθε ποιεῖν σφόδρα τὰς ἐντολὰς καὶ τὸν νόμον ὃν ἐνετείλατο ἡμῖν ποιεῖν Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς κυρίου ἀγαπᾶν κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμῶν πορεύεσθαι πάσαις ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτοῦ φυλάξασθαι τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ καὶ προσκεῖσθαι αὐτῷ καὶ λατρεύειν αὐτῷ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς διανοίας ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ψυχῆς ὑμῶν (lxx) Jos 22:5 ita dumtaxat ut custodiatis attente, et opere compleatis mandatum et legem quam præcepit vobis Moyses famulus Domini, ut diligatis Dominum Deum vestrum, et ambuletis in omnibus viis ejus, et observetis mandata illius, adhæreatisque ei, ac serviatis in omni corde, et in omni anima vestra.(vulgate) Jos 22:5 Haltet aber nur an mit Fleiß, daß ihr tut nach dem Gebot und Gesetz, das euch Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, geboten hat, daß ihr den HERRN, euren Gott, liebt und wandelt auf allen seinen Wegen und seine Gebote haltet und ihm anhanget und ihm dient von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele.(dhs) Jos 22:5 But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:6 ============ Jos 22:6 So Joshua blessed them and sent them away, and they went to their tents.(nasb) Jos 22:6 καὶ ηὐλόγησεν αὐτοὺς Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτούς καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν εἰς τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν (lxx) Jos 22:6 Benedixitque eis Josue, et dimisit eos. Qui reversi sunt in tabernacula sua.(vulgate) Jos 22:6 Also segnete sie Josua und ließ sie gehen; und sie gingen zu ihren Hütten.(dhs) Jos 22:6 So Joshua blessed them and sent them away, and they went to their tents.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:7 ============ Jos 22:7 Now to the one half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given a possession in Bashan, but to the other half Joshua gave a possession among their brothers westward beyond the Jordan. So when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them,(nasb) Jos 22:7 καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασση ἔδωκεν Μωυσῆς ἐν τῇ Βασανίτιδι καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει ἔδωκεν Ἰησοῦς μετὰ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου παρὰ θάλασσαν καὶ ἡνίκα ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς Ἰησοῦς εἰς τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτούς (lxx) Jos 22:7 Dimidiæ autem tribui Manasse possessionem Moyses dederat in Basan: et idcirco mediæ, quæ superfuit, dedit Josue sortem inter ceteros fratres suos trans Jordanem ad occidentalem plagam. Cumque dimitteret eos in tabernacula sua, et benedixisset eis,(vulgate) Jos 22:7 Dem halben Stamm Manasse hatte Mose gegeben in Basan; der andern Hälfte gab Josua unter ihren Brüdern diesseit des Jordans gegen Abend. And indeed, when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:8 ============ Jos 22:8 and said to them, "Return to your tents with great riches and with very much livestock, with silver, gold, bronze, iron, and with very many clothes; divide the spoil of your enemies with your brothers."(nasb) Jos 22:8 καὶ ἐν χρήμασιν πολλοῖς ἀπήλθοσαν εἰς τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν καὶ κτήνη πολλὰ σφόδρα καὶ ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον καὶ σίδηρον καὶ ἱματισμὸν πολύν καὶ διείλαντο τὴν προνομὴν τῶν ἐχθρῶν μετὰ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν (lxx) Jos 22:8 dixit ad eos: In multa substantia atque divitiis revertimini ad sedes vestras, cum argento et auro, ære ac ferro, et veste multiplici: dividite prædam hostium cum fratribus vestris.~(vulgate) Jos 22:8 sprach er zu ihnen: Ihr kommt wieder heim mit großem Gut zu euren Hütten, mit sehr viel Vieh, Silber, Gold, Erz, Eisen und Kleidern; so teilt nun den Raub eurer Feinde mit euren Brüdern.(dhs) Jos 22:8 and spoke to them, saying, "Return with much riches to your tents, with very much livestock, with silver, with gold, with bronze, with iron, and with very much clothing. Divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:9 ============ Jos 22:9 The sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned home and departed from the sons of Israel at Shiloh which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession which they had possessed, according to the command of the Lord through Moses.(nasb) Jos 22:9 καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς υἱῶν Μανασση ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐκ Σηλω ἐν γῇ Χανααν ἀπελθεῖν εἰς γὴν Γαλααδ εἰς γῆν κατασχέσεως αὐτῶν ἣν ἐκληρονόμησαν αὐτὴν διὰ προστάγματος κυρίου ἐν χειρὶ Μωυσῆ (lxx) Jos 22:9 Reversique sunt, et abierunt filii Ruben, et filii Gad, et dimidia tribus Manasse, a filiis Israël de Silo, quæ sita est in Chanaan, ut intrarent Galaad terram possessionis suæ, quam obtinuerant juxta imperium Domini in manu Moysi.(vulgate) Jos 22:9 Also kehrten um die Rubeniter, Gaditer und der halbe Stamm Manasse und gingen von den Kindern Israel aus Silo, das im Lande Kanaan liegt, daß sie ins Land Gilead zögen zum Lande ihres Erbes, das sie erbten nach Befehl des HERRN durch Mose.(dhs) Jos 22:9 So the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, which they had obtained according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:10 ============ Jos 22:10 When they came to the region of the Jordan which is in the land of Canaan, the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh built an altar there by the Jordan, a large altar in appearance.(nasb) Jos 22:10 καὶ ἦλθον εἰς Γαλγαλα τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἥ ἐστιν ἐν γῇ Χανααν καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση ἐκεῖ βωμὸν ἐπὶ τοῦ Ιορδάνου βωμὸν μέγαν τοῦ ἰδεῖν (lxx) Jos 22:10 Cumque venissent ad tumulos Jordanis in terram Chanaan, ædificaverunt juxta Jordanem altare infinitæ magnitudinis.(vulgate) Jos 22:10 Und da sie kamen in die Kreise am Jordan, die im Lande Kanaan liegen, bauten die Rubeniter, Gaditer und der halbe Stamm Manasse daselbst am Jordan einen großen, schönen Altar.(dhs) Jos 22:10 And when they came to the region of the Jordan which is in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh built an altar there by the Jordan--a great, impressive altar.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:11 ============ Jos 22:11 And the sons of Israel heard it said, "Behold, the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have built an altar at the frontier of the land of Canaan, in the region of the Jordan, on the side belonging to the sons of Israel."(nasb) Jos 22:11 καὶ ἤκουσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ λεγόντων ἰδοὺ ᾠκοδόμησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση βωμὸν ἐφ᾽ ὁρίων γῆς Χανααν ἐπὶ τοῦ Γαλααδ τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἐν τῷ πέραν υἱῶν Ισραηλ (lxx) Jos 22:11 Quod cum audissent filii Israël, et ad eos certi nuntii detulissent, ædificasse filios Ruben, et Gad, et dimidiæ tribus Manasse, altare in terra Chanaan, super Jordanis tumulos, contra filios Israël:(vulgate) Jos 22:11 Da aber die Kinder Israel hörten sagen: Siehe, die Kinder Ruben, die Kinder Gad und der halbe Stamm Manasse haben einen Altar gebaut gegenüber dem Land Kanaan, in den Kreisen am Jordan, diesseit der Kinder Israel,(dhs) Jos 22:11 Now the children of Israel heard someone say, "Behold, the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh have built an altar on the frontier of the land of Canaan, in the region of the Jordan--on the children of Israel's side."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:12 ============ Jos 22:12 When the sons of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the sons of Israel gathered themselves at Shiloh to go up against them in war.(nasb) Jos 22:12 καὶ συνηθροίσθησαν πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ εἰς Σηλω ὥστε ἀναβάντες ἐκπολεμῆσαι αὐτούς (lxx) Jos 22:12 convenerunt omnes in Silo, ut ascenderent, et dimicarent contra eos.(vulgate) Jos 22:12 da versammelten sie sich mit der ganzen Gemeinde zu Silo, daß sie wider sie hinaufzögen mit einem Heer.(dhs) Jos 22:12 And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,(nasb) Jos 22:13 καὶ ἀπέστειλαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ρουβην καὶ πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Γαδ καὶ πρὸς τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση εἰς γῆν Γαλααδ τόν τε Φινεες υἱὸν Ελεαζαρ υἱοῦ Ααρων τοῦ ἀρχιερέως (lxx) Jos 22:13 Et interim miserunt ad illos in terram Galaad Phinees filium Eleazari sacerdotis,(vulgate) Jos 22:13 Und sandten zu ihnen ins Land Gilead Pinehas, den Sohn Eleasars, des Priesters,(dhs) Jos 22:13 Then the children of Israel sent Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest to the children of Reuben, to the children of Gad, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:14 ============ Jos 22:14 and with him ten chiefs, one chief for each father's household from each of the tribes of Israel; and each one of them was the head of his father's household among the thousands of Israel.(nasb) Jos 22:14 καὶ δέκα τῶν ἀρχόντων μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἄρχων εἷς ἀπὸ οἴκου πατριᾶς ἀπὸ πασῶν φυλῶν Ισραηλ ἄρχοντες οἴκων πατριῶν εἰσιν χιλίαρχοι Ισραηλ (lxx) Jos 22:14 et decem principes cum eo, singulos de singulis tribubus.(vulgate) Jos 22:14 und mit ihm zehn oberste Fürsten unter ihren Vaterhäusern, aus jeglichem Stamm Israels einen.(dhs) Jos 22:14 and with him ten rulers, one ruler each from the chief house of every tribe of Israel; and each one was the head of the house of his ======= Joshua 22:16 ============ Jos 22:16 "Thus says the whole congregation of the Lord, 'What is this unfaithful act which you have committed against the God of Israel, turning away from following the Lord this day, by building yourselves an altar, to rebel against the Lord this day?(nasb) Jos 22:16 τάδε λέγει πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγὴ κυρίου τίς ἡ πλημμέλεια αὕτη ἣν ἐπλημμελήσατε ἐναντίον τοῦ θεοῦ Ισραηλ ἀποστραφῆναι σήμερον ἀπὸ κυρίου οἰκοδομήσαντες ὑμῖν ἑαυτοῖς βωμὸν ἀποστάτας ὑμᾶς γενέσθαι ἀπὸ κυρίου (lxx) Jos 22:16 Hæc mandat omnis populus Domini: Quæ est ista transgressio? cur reliquistis Dominum Deum Israël, ædificantes altare sacrilegum, et a cultu illius recedentes?(vulgate) Jos 22:16 So läßt euch sagen die ganze Gemeinde des HERRN: Wie versündigt ihr euch also an dem Gott Israels, daß ihr euch heute kehrt von dem HERRN damit, daß ihr euch einen Altar baut, daß ihr abfallt von dem HERRN?(dhs) Jos 22:16 "Thus says the whole congregation of the Lord: 'What treachery is this that you have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the Lord, in that you have built for yourselves an altar, that you might rebel this day against the Lord?(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:17 ============ Jos 22:17 Is not the iniquity of Peor enough for us, from which we have not cleansed ourselves to this day, although a plague came on the congregation of the Lord,(nasb) Jos 22:17 μὴ μικρὸν ἡμῖν τὸ ἁμάρτημα Φογωρ ὅτι οὐκ ἐκαθαρίσθημεν ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης καὶ ἐγενήθη πληγὴ ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ κυρίου (lxx) Jos 22:17 an parum vobis est quod peccastis noch auf diesen Tag nicht gereinigt sind und kam eine Plage unter die Gemeinde des HERRN?(dhs) Jos 22:17 Is the iniquity of Peor not enough for us, from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the Lord,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:18 ============ Jos 22:18 that you must turn away this day from following the Lord? If you rebel against the Lord today, He will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel tomorrow.(nasb) Jos 22:18 καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀποστραφήσεσθε σήμερον ἀπὸ κυρίου καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν ἀποστῆτε σήμερον ἀπὸ κυρίου καὶ αὔριον ἐπὶ πάντα Ισραηλ ἔσται ἡ ὀργή (lxx) Jos 22:18 Et vos hodie reliquistis Dominum, et cras in universum Israël ira ejus desæviet.(vulgate) Jos 22:18 Und ihr wendet euch heute von dem HERRN weg und seid heute abtrünnig geworden von dem HERRN, auf daß er heute oder morgen über die ganze Gemeinde Israel erzürne.(dhs) Jos 22:18 but that you must turn away this day from following the Lord? And it shall be, if you rebel today against the Lord, that tomorrow He will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:19 ============ Jos 22:19 If, however, the land of your possession is unclean, then cross into the land of the possession of the Lord, where the Lord's tabernacle stands, and take possession among us. Only do not rebel against the Lord, or rebel against us by building an altar for yourselves, besides the altar of the Lord our God.(nasb) Jos 22:19 καὶ νῦν εἰ μικρὰ ὑμῖν ἡ γῆ τῆς κατασχέσεως ὑμῶν διάβητε εἰς τὴν γῆν τῆς κατασχέσεως κυρίου οὗ κατασκηνοῖ ἐκεῖ ἡ σκηνὴ κυρίου καὶ κατακληρονομήσατε ἐν ἡμῖν καὶ μὴ ἀποστάται ἀπὸ θεοῦ γενήθητε καὶ μὴ ἀπόστητε ἀπὸ κυρίου διὰ τὸ οἰκοδομῆσαι ὑμᾶς βωμὸν ἔξω τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν (lxx) Jos 22:19 Quod si putatis immundam esse terram possessionis vestræ, transite ad terram, in qua tabernaculum Domini est, et habitate inter nos: tantum ut a Domino et a nostro consortio non recedatis, ædificato altari præter altare Domini Dei nostri.(vulgate) Jos 22:19 Dünkt euch das Land eures Erbes unrein, so kommt herüber in das Land, das der HERR hat, da die Wohnung des HERRN steht, und macht euch ansässig unter uns; und werdet nicht abtrünnig von dem Herrn und von uns, daß ihr euch einen Altar baut außer dem Altar des HERRN, unsers Gottes.(dhs) Jos 22:19 Nevertheless, if the land of your possession is unclean, then cross over to the land of the possession of the Lord, where the Lord's tabernacle stands, and take possession among us; but do not rebel against the Lord, nor rebel against us, by building yourselves an altar besides the altar of the Lord our God.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 22:20 ============ Jos 22:20 Did not Achan the son of Zerah act unfaithfully in the things under the ban, and wrath fall on all the congregation of Israel?
