Today's Date: ======= Judges 9:1 ============ Jdg 9:1 And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem to his mother's relatives, and spoke to them and to the whole clan of the household of his mother's father, saying,(nasb) Jdg 9:1 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Αβιμελεχ υἱὸς Ιεροβααλ εἰς Συχεμ πρὸς ἀδελφοὺς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ πρὸς πᾶσαν συγγένειαν οἴκου πατρὸς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ λέγων (lxx) Jdg 9:1 Abiit autem Abimelech filius Jerobaal in Sichem ad fratres matris suæ, et locutus est ad eos, et ad omnem cognationem domus patris matris suæ, dicens:(vulgate) Jdg 9:1 Abimelech aber, der Sohn Jerubbaals, ging hin zu Sichem zu den Brüdern seiner Mutter und redete mit ihnen und mit dem ganzen Geschlecht des Vaterhauses seiner Mutter und sprach:(dhs) Jdg 9:1 Then Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem, to his mother's brothers, and spoke with them and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:2 ============ Jdg 9:2 "Speak, now, in the hearing of all the leaders of Shechem, 'Which is better for you, that seventy men, all the sons of Jerubbaal, rule over you, or that one man rule over you?' Also, remember that I am your bone and your flesh."(nasb) Jdg 9:2 λαλήσατε δὴ ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν πάντων τῶν ἀνδρῶν Συχεμ τί τὸ ἀγαθὸν ὑμῖν κυριεῦσαι ὑμῶν ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας πάντας υἱοὺς Ιεροβααλ ἢ κυριεύειν ὑμῶν ἄνδρα ἕνα καὶ μνήσθητε ὅτι ὀστοῦν ὑμῶν καὶ σὰρξ ὑμῶν εἰμι (lxx) Jdg 9:2 Loquimini ad omnes viros Sichem: Quid vobis est melius, ut dominentur vestri septuaginta viri omnes filii Jerobaal, an ut dominetur unus vir? simulque considerate quod os vestrum et caro vestra sum.(vulgate) Jdg 9:2 Redet doch vor den Ohren aller Männer zu Sichem: was ist euch besser, daß siebzig Männer, alle Kinder Jerubbaals, über euch Herren seien, oder daß ein Mann über euch Herr sei? Gedenkt auch dabei, daß ich euer Gebein und Fleisch bin.(dhs) Jdg 9:2 "Please speak in the hearing of all the men of Shechem: 'Which is better for you, that all seventy of the sons of Jerubbaal reign over you, or that one reign over you?' Remember that I am your own flesh and bone."(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:3 ============ Jdg 9:3 And his mother's relatives spoke all these words on his behalf in the hearing of all the leaders of Shechem; and they were inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, "He is our relative."(nasb) Jdg 9:3 καὶ ἐλάλησαν περὶ αὐτοῦ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν πάντων τῶν ἀνδρῶν Συχεμ πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ ἔκλινεν ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν ὀπίσω Αβιμελεχ ὅτι εἶπαν ἀδελφὸς ἡμῶν ἐστιν (lxx) Jdg 9:3 Locutique sunt fratres matris ejus de eo ad omnes viros Sichem universos sermones istos, et inclinaverunt cor eorum post Abimelech, dicentes: Frater noster est.(vulgate) Jdg 9:3 Da redeten die Brüder seiner Mutter von ihm alle diese Worte vor den Ohren aller Männer zu Sichem. Und ihr Herz neigte sich Abimelech nach; denn sie gedachten: Er ist unser Bruder.(dhs) Jdg 9:3 And his mother's brothers spoke all these words concerning him in the hearing of all the men of Shechem; and their heart was inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, "He is our brother."(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:4 ============ Jdg 9:4 They gave him seventy pieces of silver from the house of Baal-berith with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless fellows, and they followed him.(nasb) Jdg 9:4 καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτῷ ἑβδομήκοντα ἀργυρίου ἐξ οἴκου Βααλβεριθ καὶ ἐμισθώσατο ἑαυτῷ Αβιμελεχ ἄνδρας κενοὺς καὶ δειλούς καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 9:4 Dederuntque illi septuaginta pondo argenti de fano Baalberit. Qui conduxit sibi ex eo viros inopes et vagos, secutique sunt eum.(vulgate) Jdg 9:4 Und sie gaben ihm siebzig Silberlinge aus dem Haus Baal-Beriths. Und Abimelech dingte damit lose, leichtfertige Männer, die ihm nachfolgten.(dhs) Jdg 9:4 So they gave him seventy shekels of silver from the temple of Baal-Berith, with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless men; and they followed him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:5 ============ Jdg 9:5 Then he went to his father's house at Ophrah and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself.(nasb) Jdg 9:5 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ εἰς Εφραθα καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ υἱοὺς Ιεροβααλ ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας ἐπὶ λίθον ἕνα καὶ κατελείφθη Ιωαθαν υἱὸς Ιεροβααλ ὁ νεώτερος ὅτι ἐκρύβη (lxx) Jdg 9:5 Et venit in domum patris sui in Ephra, et occidit fratres suos filios Jerobaal, septuaginta viros super lapidem unum: remansitque Joatham filius Jerobaal minimus, et absconditus est.~(vulgate) Jdg 9:5 Und er kam in seines Vaters Haus gen Ophra und erwürgte seine Brüder, die Kinder Jerubbaals, siebzig Mann, auf einem Stein. Es blieb aber übrig Jotham, der jüngste Sohn Jerubbaals; denn er war versteckt.(dhs) Jdg 9:5 Then he went to his father's house at Ophrah and killed his brothers, the seventy sons of Jerubbaal, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, because he hid himself.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:6 ============ Jdg 9:6 All the men of Shechem and all Beth-millo assembled together, and they went and made Abimelech king, by the oak of the pillar which was in Shechem.(nasb) Jdg 9:6 καὶ συνήχθησαν πάντες ἄνδρες Σικιμων καὶ πᾶς οἶκος Βηθμααλων καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν τὸν Αβιμελεχ πρὸς τῇ βαλάνῳ τῇ εὑρετῇ τῆς στάσεως τῆς ἐν Σικιμοις (lxx) Jdg 9:6 Congregati sunt autem omnes viri Sichem, et universæ familiæ urbis Mello: abieruntque et constituerunt regem Abimelech, juxta quercum quæ stabat in Sichem.(vulgate) Jdg 9:6 Und es versammelten sich alle Männer von Sichem und das ganze Haus Millo, gingen hin und machten Abimelech zum König bei der hohen Eiche, die zu Sichem steht.(dhs) Jdg 9:6 And all the men of Shechem gathered together, all of Beth Millo, and they went and made Abimelech king beside the terebinth tree at the pillar that was in Shechem.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:7 ============ Jdg 9:7 Now when they told Jotham, he went and stood on the top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted his voice and called out. Thus he said to them, "Listen to me, O men of Shechem, that God may listen to you.(nasb) Jdg 9:7 καὶ ἀνηγγέλη τῷ Ιωαθαν καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔστη ἐπὶ κορυφὴν ὄρους Γαριζιν καὶ ἐπῆρεν τὴν φωνὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔκλαυσεν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἀκούσατέ μου ἄνδρες Σικιμων καὶ ἀκούσεται ὑμῶν ὁ θεός (lxx) Jdg 9:7 Quod cum nuntiatum esset Joatham, ivit, et stetit in vertice montis Garizim: elevataque voce, clamavit, et dixit: Audite me, viri Sichem; ita audiat vos Deus.(vulgate) Jdg 9:7 Da das angesagt ward dem Jotham, ging er hin und trat auf die Höhe des Berges Garizim und hob auf seine Stimme, rief und sprach zu ihnen: Hört mich, ihr Männer zu Sichem, daß euch Gott auch höre!(dhs) Jdg 9:7 Now when they told Jotham, he went and stood on top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted his voice and cried out. And he said to them: "Listen to me, you men of Shechem, That God may listen to you!(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:8 ============ Jdg 9:8 Once the trees went forth to anoint a king over them, and they said to the olive tree, 'Reign over us!'(nasb) Jdg 9:8 πορευόμενα ἐπορεύθη τὰ ξύλα τοῦ χρῖσαι ἐφ᾽ ἑαυτὰ βασιλέα καὶ εἶπον τῇ ἐλαίᾳ βασίλευσον ἐφ᾽ ἡμῶν (lxx) Jdg 9:8 Ierunt ligna, ut ungerent super se regem: dixeruntque olivæ: Impera nobis.(vulgate) Jdg 9:8 Die Bäume gingen hin, daß sie einen König über sich salbten, und sprachen zu dem Ölbaum: Sei unser König!(dhs) Jdg 9:8 "The trees once went forth to anoint a king over them. And they said to the olive tree, 'Reign over us!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:9 ============ Jdg 9:9 But the olive tree said to them, 'Shall I leave my fatness with which God and men are honored, and go to wave over the trees?'(nasb) Jdg 9:9 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἡ ἐλαία μὴ ἀπολείψασα τὴν πιότητά μου ἐν ᾗ δοξάσουσι τὸν θεὸν ἄνδρες πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων (lxx) Jdg 9:9 Quæ respondit: Numquid possum deserere pinguedinem meam, qua et dii utuntur et homines, et venire ut inter ligna promovear?(vulgate) Jdg 9:9 Aber der Ölbaum antwortete ihnen: Soll ich meine Fettigkeit lassen, die beide, Götter und Menschen, an mir preisen, und hingehen, daß ich schwebe über den Bäumen?(dhs) Jdg 9:9 But the olive tree said to them, 'Should I cease giving my oil, With which they honor God and men, And go to sway over trees?'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:10 ============ Jdg 9:10 Then the trees said to the fig tree, 'You come, reign over us!'(nasb) Jdg 9:10 καὶ εἶπον τὰ ξύλα τῇ συκῇ δεῦρο βασίλευσον ἐφ᾽ ἡμῶν (lxx) Jdg 9:10 Dixeruntque ligna ad arborem ficum: Veni, et super nos regnum accipe.(vulgate) Jdg 9:10 Da sprachen die Bäume zum Feigenbaum: Komm du und sei unser König!(dhs) Jdg 9:10 "Then the trees said to the fig tree, 'You come and reign over us!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:11 ============ Jdg 9:11 But the fig tree said to them, 'Shall I leave my sweetness and my good fruit, and go to wave over the trees?'(nasb) Jdg 9:11 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἡ συκῆ μὴ ἀπολείψασα ἐγὼ τὴν γλυκύτητά μου καὶ τὰ γενήματά μου τὰ ἀγαθὰ πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων (lxx) Jdg 9:11 Quæ respondit eis: Numquid possum deserere dulcedinem meam, fructusque suavissimos, et ire ut inter cetera ligna promovear?(vulgate) Jdg 9:11 Aber der Feigenbaum sprach zu ihnen: Soll ich meine Süßigkeit und meine gute Frucht lassen und hingehen, daß ich über den Bäumen schwebe?(dhs) Jdg 9:11 But the fig tree said to them, 'Should I cease my sweetness and my good fruit, And go to sway over trees?'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:12 ============ Jdg 9:12 Then the trees said to the vine, 'You come, reign over us!'(nasb) Jdg 9:12 καὶ εἶπαν τὰ ξύλα πρὸς τὴν ἄμπελον δεῦρο σὺ βασίλευσον ἐφ᾽ ἡμῶν (lxx) Jdg 9:12 Locutaque sunt ligna ad vitem: Veni, et impera nobis.(vulgate) Jdg 9:12 Da sprachen die Bäume zum Weinstock: Komm du und sei unser König!(dhs) Jdg 9:12 "Then the trees said to the vine, 'You come and reign over us!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:13 ============ Jdg 9:13 But the vine said to them, 'Shall I leave my new wine, which cheers God and men, and go to wave over the trees?'(nasb) Jdg 9:13 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἡ ἄμπελος μὴ ἀπολείψασα τὸν οἶνόν μου τὸν εὐφραίνοντα θεὸν καὶ ἀνθρώπους πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων (lxx) Jdg 9:13 Quæ respondit eis: Numquid possum deserere vinum meum, quod lætificat Deum et homines, et inter ligna cetera promoveri?(vulgate) Jdg 9:13 Aber der Weinstock sprach zu ihnen: Soll ich meinen Most lassen, der Götter und Menschen fröhlich macht, und hingehen, daß ich über den Bäumen schwebe?(dhs) Jdg 9:13 But the vine said to them, 'Should I cease my new wine, Which cheers both God and men, And go to sway over trees?'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:14 ============ Jdg 9:14 Finally all the trees said to the bramble, 'You come, reign over us!'(nasb) Jdg 9:14 καὶ εἶπαν πάντα τὰ ξύλα τῇ ῥάμνῳ δεῦρο σὺ βασίλευσον ἐφ᾽ ἡμῶν (lxx) Jdg 9:14 Dixeruntque omnia ligna ad rhamnum: Veni, et impera super nos.(vulgate) Jdg 9:14 Da sprachen die Bäume zum Dornbusch: Komm du und sei unser König!(dhs) Jdg 9:14 "Then all the trees said to the bramble, 'You come and reign over us!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:15 ============ Jdg 9:15 The bramble said to the trees, 'If in truth you are anointing me as king over you, come and take refuge in my shade; but if not, may fire come out from the bramble and consume the cedars of Lebanon.'(nasb) Jdg 9:15 καὶ εἶπεν ἡ ῥάμνος πρὸς τὰ ξύλα εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ χρίετέ με ὑμεῖς τοῦ βασιλεύειν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς δεῦτε ὑπόστητε ἐν τῇ σκιᾷ μου καὶ εἰ μή ἐξέλθῃ πῦρ ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ καταφάγῃ τὰς κέδρους τοῦ Λιβάνου (lxx) Jdg 9:15 Quæ respondit eis: Si vere me regem vobis constituitis, venite, et sub umbra mea requiescite: si autem non vultis, egrediatur ignis de rhamno, et devoret cedros Libani.(vulgate) Jdg 9:15 Und der Dornbusch sprach zu den Bäumen: Ist's wahr, daß ihr mich zum König salbt über euch, so kommt und vertraut euch unter meinen Schatten; wo nicht, so gehe Feuer aus dem Dornbusch und verzehre die Zedern Libanons.(dhs) Jdg 9:15 And the bramble said to the trees, 'If in truth you anoint me as king over you, Then come and take shelter in my shade; But if not, let fire come out of the bramble And devour the cedars of Lebanon!'(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:16 ============ Jdg 9:16 "Now therefore, if you have dealt in truth and integrity in making Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have dealt with him as he deserved"(nasb) Jdg 9:16 καὶ νῦν εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ τελειότητι ἐποιήσατε καὶ ἐβασιλεύσατε τὸν Αβιμελεχ καὶ εἰ ἀγαθωσύνην ἐποιήσατε μετὰ Ιεροβααλ καὶ μετὰ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰ ὡς ἀνταπόδοσις χειρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐποιήσατε αὐτῷ (lxx) Jdg 9:16 Nunc igitur, si recte et absque peccato constituistis super vos regem Abimelech, et bene egistis cum Jerobaal, et cum domo ejus, et reddidistis vicem beneficiis ejus, qui pugnavit pro vobis,(vulgate) Jdg 9:16 Habt ihr nun recht und redlich getan, daß ihr Abimelech zum König gemacht habt; und habt ihr wohl getan an Jerubbaal und an seinem Hause und habt ihm getan, wie er um euch verdient hat(dhs) Jdg 9:16 "Now therefore, if you have acted in truth and sincerity in making Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done to him as he deserves--(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:17 ============ Jdg 9:17 for my father fought for you and risked his life and delivered you from the hand of Midian;(nasb) Jdg 9:17 ὡς παρετάξατο ὁ πατήρ μου ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξέρριψεν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἐξ ἐναντίας καὶ ἐρρύσατο ὑμᾶς ἐκ χειρὸς Μαδιαμ (lxx) Jdg 9:17 et animam suam dedit periculis, ut erueret vos de manu Madian,(vulgate) Jdg 9:17 (denn mein Vater hat gestritten um euretwillen und seine Seele dahingeworfen von sich, daß er euch errettete von der Midianiter Hand;(dhs) Jdg 9:17 for my father fought for you, risked his life, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian;(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:18 ============ Jdg 9:18 but you have risen against my father's house today and have killed his sons, seventy men, on one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your relative"(nasb) Jdg 9:18 καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐπανέστητε ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρός μου σήμερον καὶ ἀπεκτείνατε τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας ἐπὶ λίθον ἕνα καὶ ἐβασιλεύσατε τὸν Αβιμελεχ υἱὸν παιδίσκης αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἄνδρας Σικιμων ὅτι ἀδελφὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν (lxx) Jdg 9:18 qui nunc surrexistis contra domum patris mei, et interfecistis filios ejus septuaginta viros super unum lapidem, et constituistis regem Abimelech filium ancillæ ejus super habitatores Sichem, eo quod frater vester sit:(vulgate) Jdg 9:18 und ihr lehnt euch auf heute wider meines Vaters Haus und erwürgt seine Kinder, siebzig Mann, auf einem Stein und macht euch Abimelech, seiner Magd Sohn, zum König über die Männer zu Sichem, weil er euer Bruder ist);(dhs) Jdg 9:18 but you have risen up against my father's house this day, and killed his seventy sons on one stone, and made Abimelech, the son of his female servant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother--(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:19 ============ Jdg 9:19 if then you have dealt in truth and integrity with Jerubbaal and his house this day, rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you.(nasb) Jdg 9:19 καὶ εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ τελειότητι ἐποιήσατε μετὰ Ιεροβααλ καὶ μετὰ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ εὐφρανθείητε ἐν Αβιμελεχ καὶ εὐφρανθείη καί γε αὐτὸς ἐφ᾽ ὑμῖν (lxx) Jdg 9:19 si ergo recte et absque vitio egistis cum Jerobaal et domo ejus, hodie lætamini in Abimelech, et ille lætetur in vobis.(vulgate) Jdg 9:19 und habt ihr nun recht und redlich gehandelt an Jerubbaal und an seinem Hause an diesem Tage: so seid fröhlich über Abimelech und er sei fröhlich über euch;(dhs) Jdg 9:19 if then you have acted in truth and sincerity with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:20 ============ Jdg 9:20 But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech and consume the men of Shechem and Beth-millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem and from Beth-millo, and consume Abimelech."(nasb) Jdg 9:20 εἰ δὲ οὐ ἐξέλθοι πῦρ ἀπὸ Αβιμελεχ καὶ φάγοι τοὺς ἄνδρας Σικιμων καὶ τὸν οἶκον Βηθμααλλων καὶ ἐξέλθοι πῦρ ἀπὸ ἀνδρῶν Σικιμων καὶ ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου Βηθμααλλων καὶ καταφάγοι τὸν Αβιμελεχ (lxx) Jdg 9:20 Sin autem perverse: egrediatur ignis ex eo, et consumat habitatores Sichem, et oppidum Mello: egrediaturque ignis de viris Sichem, et de oppido Mello, et devoret Abimelech.(vulgate) Jdg 9:20 wo nicht, so gehe Feuer aus von Abimelech und verzehre die Männer zu Sichem und das Haus Millo, und gehe auch Feuer aus von den Männern zu Sichem und vom Haus Millo und verzehre Abimelech.(dhs) Jdg 9:20 But if not, let fire come from Abimelech and devour the men of Shechem and Beth Millo; and let fire come from the men of Shechem and from Beth Millo and devour Abimelech!"(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:21 ============ Jdg 9:21 Then Jotham escaped and fled, and went to Beer and remained there because of Abimelech his brother.(nasb) Jdg 9:21 καὶ ἔφυγεν Ιωαθαν καὶ ἀπέδρα καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἕως Βαιηρ καὶ ᾤκησεν ἐκεῖ ἀπὸ προσώπου Αβιμελεχ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 9:21 Quæ cum dixisset, fugit, et abiit in Bera: habitavitque ibi ob metum Abimelech fratris sui.~(vulgate) Jdg 9:21 Und Jotham floh vor seinem Bruder Abimelech und entwich und ging gen Beer und wohnte daselbst.(dhs) Jdg 9:21 And Jotham ran away and fled; and he went to Beer and dwelt there, for fear of Abimelech his brother.(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:22 ============ Jdg 9:22 Now Abimelech ruled over Israel three years.(nasb) Jdg 9:22 καὶ ἦρξεν Αβιμελεχ ἐπὶ Ισραηλ τρία ἔτη (lxx) Jdg 9:22 Regnavit itaque Abimelech super Israël tribus annis.(vulgate) Jdg 9:22 Als nun Abimelech drei Jahre über Israel geherrscht hatte,(dhs) Jdg 9:22 After Abimelech had reigned over Israel three years,(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:23 ============ Jdg 9:23 Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; But Zebul said to him, "You are seeing the shadow of the mountains as if they were men."(nasb) Jdg 9:36 καὶ εἶδεν Γααλ υἱὸς Ιωβηλ τὸν λαὸν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς Ζεβουλ ἰδοὺ λαὸς καταβαίνει ἀπὸ κεφαλῶν τῶν ὀρέων καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ζεβουλ τὴν σκιὰν τῶν ὀρέων σὺ βλέπεις ὡς ἄνδρας (lxx) Jdg 9:36 Cumque vidisset populum Gaal, dixit ad Zebul: Ecce de montibus multitudo descendit. Cui ille respondit: Umbras montium vides quasi capita hominum, et hoc errore deciperis.(vulgate) Jdg 9:36 Da nun Gaal das Volk sah, sprach er zu Sebul: Siehe, da kommt ein Volk von der Höhe des Gebirges hernieder. But Zebul said to him, "You see the shadows of the mountains as if they were men."(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:37 ============ Jdg 9:37 Gaal spoke again and said, "Behold, people are coming down from the highest part of the land, and one company comes by the way of the diviners' oak."(nasb) Jdg 9:37 καὶ προσέθετο ἔτι Γααλ τοῦ λαλῆσαι καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ λαὸς καταβαίνων κατὰ θάλασσαν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἐχόμενα ὀμφαλοῦ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀρχὴ ἑτέρα ἔρχεται διὰ ὁδοῦ Ηλωνμαωνενιμ (lxx) Jdg 9:37 Rursumque Gaal ait: Ecce populus de umbilico terræ descendit, et unus cuneus venit per viam quæ respicit quercum.(vulgate) Jdg 9:37 Gaal redete noch mehr und sprach: Siehe, ein Volk kommt hernieder aus der Mitte des Landes, und ein Haufe kommt auf dem Wege zur Zaubereiche.(dhs) Jdg 9:37 So Gaal spoke again and said, "See, people are coming down from the center of the land, and another company is coming from the Diviners' Terebinth Tree."(nkjv) ======= Judges 9:38 ============ Jdg 9:38 Then Zebul said to him, "Where is your boasting now with which you said, 'Who is Abimelech that we should serve him?' Is this not the people whom you despised? Go out now and fight with them!"(nasb) Jdg 9:38 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ζεβουλ καὶ ποῦ ἐστιν τὸ στόμα σου ὡς ἐλάλησας τίς ἐστιν Αβιμελεχ ὅτι δουλεύσομεν αὐτῷ μὴ οὐχὶ οὗτος ὁ λαός ὃν ἐξουδένωσας ἔξελθε δὴ νῦν καὶ παράταξαι αὐτῷ (lxx) Jdg 9:38 Cui dixit Zebul: Ubi est nunc os tuum, quo loquebaris: Quis est Abimelech ut serviamus ei? nonne hic populus est, quem despiciebas? egredere, et pugna contra eum.(vulgate) Jdg 9:38 Da sprach Sebul zu ihm: Wo ist nun hier dein Maul, das da sagte: Wer ist Abimelech, daß wir ihm dienen sollten? Are not these the people whom you despised? So the young man pierced him through, and he died.(nasb) Jdg 9:54 καὶ ἐβόησεν ταχὺ πρὸς τὸ παιδάριον τὸ αἶρον τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ σπάσον τὴν ῥομφαίαν μου καὶ θανάτωσόν με μήποτε εἴπωσιν γυνὴ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτόν καὶ ἐξεκέντησεν αὐτὸν τὸ παιδάριον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπέθανεν (lxx) Jdg 9:54 Qui vocavit cito armigerum suum, et ait ad eum: Evagina gladium tuum, et percute me, ne forte dicatur quod a femina interfectus sim. Qui jussa perficiens, interfecit eum.(vulgate) Jdg 9:54 Da rief Abimelech eilend dem Diener, der seine Waffen trug, und sprach zu ihm: Zieh dein Schwert aus und töte mich, daß man nicht von mir sage: Ein Weib hat ihn erwürgt.
