Today's Date: ======= Judges 6:1 ============ Jdg 6:1 Then the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord gave them into the hands of Midian seven years.(nasb) Jdg 6:1 καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἐν χειρὶ Μαδιαμ ἑπτὰ ἔτη (lxx) Jdg 6:1 Fecerunt autem filii Israël malum in conspectu Domini: qui tradidit illos in manu Madian septem annis,(vulgate) Jdg 6:1 Und da die Kinder Israel übel taten vor dem HERRN, gab sie der HERR unter die Hand der Midianiter sieben Jahre.(dhs) Jdg 6:1 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years,(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:2 ============ Jdg 6:2 The power of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of Midian the sons of Israel made for themselves the dens which were in the mountains and the caves and the strongholds.(nasb) Jdg 6:2 καὶ ἴσχυσεν χεὶρ Μαδιαμ ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοῖς οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἀπὸ προσώπου Μαδιαμ τὰς τρυμαλιὰς τὰς ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν καὶ τὰ σπήλαια καὶ τὰ κρεμαστά (lxx) Jdg 6:2 et oppressi sunt valde ab eis. Feceruntque sibi antra et speluncas in montibus, et munitissima ad repugnandum loca.(vulgate) Jdg 6:2 Und da der Midianiter Hand zu stark ward über Israel, machten die Kinder Israel für sich Klüfte in den Gebirgen und Höhlen und Festungen.(dhs) Jdg 6:2 and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:3 ============ Jdg 6:3 For it was when Israel had sown, that the Midianites would come up with the Amalekites and the sons of the east and go against them.(nasb) Jdg 6:3 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐὰν ἔσπειραν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀνέβαιναν Μαδιαμ καὶ Αμαληκ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ ἀνατολῶν συνανέβαινον αὐτοῖς (lxx) Jdg 6:3 Cumque sevisset Israël, ascendebat Madian et Amalec, ceterique orientalium nationum:(vulgate) Jdg 6:3 Und wenn Israel etwas säte, so kamen die Midianiter und Amalekiter und die aus dem Morgenlande herauf über sie(dhs) Jdg 6:3 So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:4 ============ Jdg 6:4 So they would camp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance in Israel as well as no sheep, ox, or donkey.(nasb) Jdg 6:4 καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς αὐτοὺς καὶ κατέφθειραν τοὺς καρποὺς αὐτῶν ἕως ἐλθεῖν εἰς Γάζαν καὶ οὐ κατέλιπον ὑπόστασιν ζωῆς ἐν τῇ γῇ Ισραηλ οὐδὲ ἐν τοῖς ποιμνίοις ταῦρον καὶ ὄνον (lxx) Jdg 6:4 et apud eos figentes tentoria, sicut erant in herbis cuncta vastabant usque ad introitum Gazæ: nihilque omnino ad vitam pertinens relinquebant in Israël, non oves, non boves, non asinos.(vulgate) Jdg 6:4 und lagerten sich wider sie und verderbten das Gewächs auf dem Lande bis hinan gen Gaza und ließen nichts übrig von Nahrung in Israel, weder Schafe noch Ochsen noch Esel.(dhs) Jdg 6:4 Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:5 ============ Jdg 6:5 For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, they would come in like locusts for number, both they and their camels were innumerable; and they came into the land to devastate it.(nasb) Jdg 6:5 ὅτι αὐτοὶ καὶ αἱ κτήσεις αὐτῶν ἀνέβαινον καὶ αἱ σκηναὶ αὐτῶν παρεγίνοντο καθὼς ἀκρὶς εἰς πλῆθος καὶ αὐτοῖς καὶ τοῖς καμήλοις αὐτῶν οὐκ ἦν ἀριθμός καὶ ἤρχοντο εἰς τὴν γῆν Ισραηλ καὶ διέφθειρον αὐτήν (lxx) Jdg 6:5 Ipsi enim et universi greges eorum veniebant cum tabernaculis suis, et instar locustarum universa complebant, innumera multitudo hominum et camelorum, quidquid tetigerant devastantes.(vulgate) Jdg 6:5 Denn sie kamen herauf mit ihrem Vieh und Hütten wie eine große Menge Heuschrecken, daß weder sie noch ihre Kamele zu zählen waren, und fielen ins Land, daß sie es verderbten.(dhs) Jdg 6:5 For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:6 ============ Jdg 6:6 So Israel was brought very low because of Midian, and the sons of Israel cried to the Lord.(nasb) Jdg 6:6 καὶ ἐπτώχευσεν Ισραηλ σφόδρα ἀπὸ προσώπου Μαδιαμ καὶ ἐβόησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς κύριον (lxx) Jdg 6:6 Humiliatusque est Israël valde in conspectu Madian.(vulgate) Jdg 6:6 Also war Israel sehr gering vor den Midianitern. Da schrieen die Kinder Israel zu dem HERRN.(dhs) Jdg 6:6 So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:7 ============ Jdg 6:7 Now it came about when the sons of Israel cried to the Lord on account of Midian,(nasb) Jdg 6:7 ἀπὸ προσώπου Μαδιαμ (lxx) Jdg 6:7 Et clamavit ad Dominum postulans auxilium contra Madianitas.(vulgate) Jdg 6:7 Als sie aber zu dem HERRN schrieen um der Midianiter willen,(dhs) Jdg 6:7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord because of the Midianites,(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:8 ============ Jdg 6:8 that the Lord sent a prophet to the sons of Israel, and he said to them, "Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, 'It was I who brought you up from Egypt and brought you out from the house of slavery.(nasb) Jdg 6:8 καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν κύριος ἄνδρα προφήτην πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἐγώ εἰμι ὃς ἀνήγαγον ὑμᾶς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐξήγαγον ὑμᾶς ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας ὑμῶν (lxx) Jdg 6:8 Qui misit ad eos virum prophetam, et locutus est: Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël: Ego vos feci conscendere de Ægypto, et eduxi vos de domo servitutis,(vulgate) Jdg 6:8 sandte der HERR einen Propheten zu ihnen, der sprach zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Ich habe euch aus Ägypten geführt und aus dem Diensthause gebracht(dhs) Jdg 6:8 that the Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, "Thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of bondage;(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:9 ============ Jdg 6:9 I delivered you from the hands of the Egyptians and from the hands of all your oppressors, and dispossessed them before you and gave you their land,(nasb) Jdg 6:9 καὶ ἐρρυσάμην ὑμᾶς ἐκ χειρὸς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς πάντων τῶν θλιβόντων ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐξέβαλον αὐτοὺς ἐκ προσώπου ὑμῶν καὶ ἔδωκα ὑμῖν τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν (lxx) Jdg 6:9 et liberavi de manu Ægyptiorum, et omnium inimicorum qui affligebant vos: ejecique eos ad introitum vestrum, et tradidi vobis terram eorum.(vulgate) Jdg 6:9 und habe euch errettet von der Ägypter Hand und von der Hand aller, die euch drängten, und habe sie vor euch her ausgestoßen und ihr Land euch gegeben(dhs) Jdg 6:9 and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave you their land.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:10 ============ Jdg 6:10 and I said to you, "I am the Lord your God; you shall not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But you have not obeyed Me."'"(nasb) Jdg 6:10 καὶ εἶπα ὑμῖν ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν οὐ φοβηθήσεσθε τοὺς θεοὺς τοῦ Αμορραίου ἐν οἷς ὑμεῖς καθήσεσθε ἐν τῇ γῇ αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ εἰσηκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς μου (lxx) Jdg 6:10 Et dixi: Ego Dominus Deus vester: ne timeatis deos Amorrhæorum, in quorum terra habitatis. Et noluistis audire vocem meam.~(vulgate) Jdg 6:10 und sprach zu euch: Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott; fürchtet nicht der Amoriter Götter, in deren Lande ihr wohnt. Und ihr habt meiner Stimme nicht gehorcht.(dhs) Jdg 6:10 Also I said to you, "I am the Lord your God; do not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell." But you have not obeyed My voice.' "(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:11 ============ Jdg 6:11 Then the angel of the Lord came and sat under the oak that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite as his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites.(nasb) Jdg 6:11 καὶ ἦλθεν ἄγγελος κυρίου καὶ ἐκάθισεν ὑπὸ τὴν τερέμινθον τὴν ἐν Εφραθα τὴν Ιωας πατρὸς τοῦ Εσδρι καὶ Γεδεων υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ῥαβδίζων σῖτον ἐν ληνῷ εἰς ἐκφυγεῖν ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ Μαδιαμ (lxx) Jdg 6:11 Venit autem angelus Domini, et sedit sub quercu, quæ erat in Ephra, et pertinebat ad Joas patrem familiæ Ezri. Cumque Gedeon filius ejus excuteret atque purgaret frumenta in torculari, ut fugeret Madian,(vulgate) Jdg 6:11 Und der Engel des HERRN kam und setzte sich unter eine Eiche zu Ophra, die war des Joas, des Abiesriters; und sein Sohn Gideon drosch Weizen in der Kelter, daß er ihn bärge vor den Midianitern.(dhs) Jdg 6:11 Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:12 ============ Jdg 6:12 The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, "The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior."(nasb) Jdg 6:12 καὶ ὤφθη αὐτῷ ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν κύριος μετὰ σοῦ ἰσχυρὸς τῶν δυνάμεων (lxx) Jdg 6:12 apparuit ei angelus Domini, et ait: Dominus tecum, virorum fortissime.(vulgate) Jdg 6:12 Da erschien ihm der Engel des HERRN und sprach zu ihm: Der HERR mit dir, du streitbarer Held!(dhs) Jdg 6:12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, "The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!"(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:13 ============ Jdg 6:13 Then Gideon said to him, "O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?' But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian."(nasb) Jdg 6:13 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Γεδεων ἐν ἐμοί κύριέ μου καὶ εἰ ἔστιν κύριος μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν εἰς τί εὗρεν ἡμᾶς τὰ κακὰ ταῦτα καὶ ποῦ ἐστιν πάντα τὰ θαυμάσια αὐτοῦ ἃ διηγήσαντο ἡμῖν οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν λέγοντες μὴ οὐχὶ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ἀνήγαγεν ἡμᾶς κύριος καὶ νῦν ἐξέρριψεν ἡμᾶς καὶ ἔδωκεν ἡμᾶς ἐν χειρὶ Μαδιαμ (lxx) Jdg 6:13 Dixitque ei Gedeon: Obsecro, mi domine, si Dominus nobiscum est, cur apprehenderunt nos hæc omnia? ubi sunt mirabilia ejus, quæ narraverunt patres nostri, atque dixerunt: De Ægypto eduxit nos Dominus? nunc autem dereliquit nos Dominus, et tradidit in manu Madian.(vulgate) Jdg 6:13 Gideon aber sprach zu ihm: Mein Herr, ist der HERR mit uns, warum ist uns denn solches alles widerfahren? Und wo sind alle die Wunder, die uns unsre Väter erzählten und sprachen: Der HERR hat uns aus Ägypten geführt? Nun aber hat uns der HERR verlassen und unter der Midianiter Hände gegeben.(dhs) Jdg 6:13 Gideon said to Him, "O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?' But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites."(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:14 ============ Jdg 6:14 The Lord looked at him and said, "Go in this your strength and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent you?"(nasb) Jdg 6:14 καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου καὶ εἶπεν πορεύου ἐν ἰσχύι σου ταύτῃ καὶ σώσεις τὸν Ισραηλ ἐκ χειρὸς Μαδιαμ ἰδοὺ ἐξαπέστειλά σε (lxx) Jdg 6:14 Respexitque ad eum Dominus, et ait: Vade in hac fortitudine tua, et liberabis Israël de manu Madian: scito quod miserim te.(vulgate) Jdg 6:14 Der HERR aber wandte sich zu ihm und sprach: Gehe hin in dieser deiner Kraft; du sollst Israel erlösen aus der Midianiter Händen. Siehe, ich habe dich gesandt.(dhs) Jdg 6:14 Then the Lord turned to him and said, "Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:15 ============ Jdg 6:15 He said to Him, "O Lord, how shall I deliver Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father's house."(nasb) Jdg 6:15 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Γεδεων ἐν ἐμοί κύριέ μου ἐν τίνι σώσω τὸν Ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ἡ χιλιάς μου ἠσθένησεν ἐν Μανασση καὶ ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ μικρότερος ἐν οἴκῳ πατρός μου (lxx) Jdg 6:15 Qui respondens ait: Obsecro, mi domine, in quo liberabo Israël? ecce familia mea infima est in Manasse, et ego minimus in domo patris mei.(vulgate) Jdg 6:15 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Mein Herr, womit soll ich Israel erlösen? Siehe, meine Freundschaft ist die geringste in Manasse, und ich bin der Kleinste in meines Vaters Hause.(dhs) Jdg 6:15 So he said to Him, "O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house."(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:16 ============ Jdg 6:16 But the Lord said to him, "Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat Midian as one man."(nasb) Jdg 6:16 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου κύριος ἔσται μετὰ σοῦ καὶ πατάξεις τὴν Μαδιαμ ὡσεὶ ἄνδρα ἕνα (lxx) Jdg 6:16 Dixitque ei Dominus: Ego ero tecum: et percuties Madian quasi unum virum.(vulgate) Jdg 6:16 der HERR aber sprach zu ihm: Ich will mit dir sein, daß du die Midianiter schlagen sollst wie einen einzelnen Mann.(dhs) Jdg 6:16 And the Lord said to him, "Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man."(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:17 ============ Jdg 6:17 So Gideon said to Him, "If now I have found favor in Your sight, then show me a sign that it is You who speak with me.(nasb) Jdg 6:17 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Γεδεων εἰ δὲ εὗρον ἔλεος ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου καὶ ποιήσεις μοι σήμερον πᾶν ὅ τι ἐλάλησας μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ (lxx) Jdg 6:17 Et ille: Si inveni, inquit, gratiam coram te, da mihi signum quod tu sis qui loqueris ad me:(vulgate) Jdg 6:17 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Habe ich Gnade vor dir gefunden, so mache mir doch ein Zeichen, daß du es seist, der mit mir redet;(dhs) Jdg 6:17 Then he said to Him, "If now I have found favor in Your sight, then show me a sign that it is You who talk with me.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:18 ============ Jdg 6:18 Please do not depart from here, until I come back to You, and bring out my offering and lay it before You." And He said, "I will remain until you return."(nasb) Jdg 6:18 μὴ χωρισθῇς ἐντεῦθεν ἕως τοῦ ἐλθεῖν με πρὸς σέ καὶ ἐξοίσω τὴν θυσίαν καὶ θήσω ἐνώπιόν σου καὶ εἶπεν ἐγώ εἰμι καθίομαι ἕως τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι σε (lxx) Jdg 6:18 nec recedas hinc, donec revertar ad te, portans sacrificium, et offerens tibi. Qui respondit: Ego præstolabor adventum tuum.(vulgate) Jdg 6:18 weiche nicht, bis ich zu dir komme und bringe mein Speisopfer und es vor dir hinlege. Er sprach: Ich will bleiben bis daß du wiederkommst.(dhs) Jdg 6:18 Do not depart from here, I pray, until I come to You and bring out my offering and set it before You." And He said, "I will wait until you come back."(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:19 ============ Jdg 6:19 Then Gideon went in and prepared a young goat and unleavened bread from an ephah of flour; he put the meat in a basket and the broth in a pot, and brought them out to him under the oak and presented them.(nasb) Jdg 6:19 καὶ Γεδεων εἰσῆλθεν καὶ ἐποίησεν ἔριφον αἰγῶν καὶ οιφι ἀλεύρου ἄζυμα καὶ τὰ κρέα ἔθηκεν ἐν τῷ κοφίνῳ καὶ τὸν ζωμὸν ἔβαλεν ἐν τῇ χύτρᾳ καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν αὐτὰ πρὸς αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τὴν τερέμινθον καὶ προσήγγισεν (lxx) Jdg 6:19 Ingressus est itaque Gedeon, et coxit hædum, et de farinæ modio azymos panes: carnesque ponens in canistro, et jus carnium mittens in ollam, tulit omnia sub quercu, et obtulit ei.(vulgate) Jdg 6:19 Und Gideon kam und richtete zu ein Ziegenböcklein und ein Epha ungesäuerten Mehls und legte das Fleisch in einen Korb und tat die Brühe in einen Topf und brachte es zu ihm heraus unter die Eiche und trat herzu.(dhs) Jdg 6:19 So Gideon went in and prepared a young goat, and unleavened bread from an ephah of flour. And he did so.(nasb) Jdg 6:20 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ ἄγγελος τοῦ θεοῦ λαβὲ τὰ κρέα καὶ τὰ ἄζυμα καὶ θὲς πρὸς τὴν πέτραν ἐκείνην καὶ τὸν ζωμὸν ἐχόμενα ἔκχεε καὶ ἐποίησεν οὕτως (lxx) Jdg 6:20 Cui dixit angelus Domini: Tolle carnes et azymos panes, et pone supra petram illam, et jus desuper funde. Cumque fecisset ita,(vulgate) Jdg 6:20 Aber der Engel Gottes sprach zu ihm: Nimm das Fleisch und das Ungesäuerte und lege es hin auf den Fels, der hier ist, und gieß die Brühe aus. Und er tat also.(dhs) Jdg 6:20 The Angel of God said to him, "Take the meat and the unleavened bread and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth." And he did so.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:21 ============ Jdg 6:21 Then the angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in his hand and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire sprang up from the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. Then the angel of the Lord vanished from his sight.(nasb) Jdg 6:21 καὶ ἐξέτεινεν ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου τὸ ἄκρον τῆς ῥάβδου τῆς ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἥψατο τῶν κρεῶν καὶ τῶν ἀζύμων καὶ ἀνέβη πῦρ ἐκ τῆς πέτρας καὶ κατέφαγεν τὰ κρέα καὶ τοὺς ἀζύμους καὶ ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου ἐπορεύθη ἀπὸ ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 6:21 extendit angelus Domini summitatem virgæ, quam tenebat in manu, et tetigit carnes et panes azymos: ascenditque ignis de petra, et carnes azymosque panes consumpsit: angelus autem Domini evanuit ex oculis ejus.~(vulgate) Jdg 6:21 Da reckte der Engel des HERRN den Stecken aus, den er in der Hand hatte, und rührte mit der Spitze das Fleisch und das Ungesäuerte an. Und das Feuer fuhr aus dem Fels und verzehrte das Fleisch und das Ungesäuerte. Und der Engel des HERRN verschwand aus seinen Augen.(dhs) Jdg 6:21 Then the Angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. And the Angel of the Lord departed out of his sight.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:22 ============ Jdg 6:22 When Gideon saw that he was the angel of the Lord, he said, "Alas, O Lord God! Let the one who would plead for him be put to death by morning! Et de nocte consurgens expresso vellere, concham rore implevit.(vulgate) Jdg 6:38 Und es geschah also. Oro ut solum vellus siccum sit, et omnis terra rore madens.(vulgate) Jdg 6:39 Und Gideon sprach zu Gott: Dein Zorn ergrimme nicht wider mich, daß ich noch einmal rede. Ich will's nur noch einmal versuchen mit dem Fell.
