Today's Date: ======= 1 Kings 21:1 ============ 1Ki 21:1 Now it came about after these things that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard which was in Jezreel beside the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.(nasb) 1Ki 21:1 καὶ ἀμπελὼν εἷς ἦν τῷ Ναβουθαι τῷ Ιεζραηλίτῃ παρὰ τῷ ἅλῳ Αχααβ βασιλέως Σαμαρείας (lxx) 1Ki 21:1 Post verba autem hæc, tempore illo vinea erat Naboth Jezrahelitæ, quæ erat in Jezrahel, juxta palatium Achab regis Samariæ.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:1 Nach diesen Geschichten begab sich's, daß Naboth, ein Jesreeliter, einen Weinberg hatte zu Jesreel, bei dem Palast Ahabs, des Königs zu Samaria.(dhs) 1Ki 21:1 And it came to pass after these things that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard which was in Jezreel, next to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:2 ============ 1Ki 21:2 Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, "Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable garden because it is close beside my house, and I will give you a better vineyard than it in its place; if you like, I will give you the price of it in money."(nasb) 1Ki 21:2 καὶ ἐλάλησεν Αχααβ πρὸς Ναβουθαι λέγων δός μοι τὸν ἀμπελῶνά σου καὶ ἔσται μοι εἰς κῆπον λαχάνων ὅτι ἐγγίων οὗτος τῷ οἴκῳ μου καὶ δώσω σοι ἀμπελῶνα ἄλλον ἀγαθὸν ὑπὲρ αὐτόν εἰ δὲ ἀρέσκει ἐνώπιόν σου δώσω σοι ἀργύριον ἀντάλλαγμα τοῦ ἀμπελῶνός σου τούτου καὶ ἔσται μοι εἰς κῆπον λαχάνων (lxx) 1Ki 21:2 Locutus est ergo Achab ad Naboth, dicens: Da mihi vineam tuam, ut faciam mihi hortum olerum, quia vicina est, et prope domum meam: daboque tibi pro ea vineam meliorem, aut si commodius tibi putas, argenti pretium, quanto digna est.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:2 Und Ahab redete mit Naboth und sprach: Gib mir deinen Weinberg; ich will mir einen Kohlgarten daraus machen, weil er so nahe an meinem Hause liegt. Ich will dir einen bessern Weinberg dafür geben, oder, so dir's gefällt, will ich dir Silber dafür geben, soviel er gilt.(dhs) 1Ki 21:2 So Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, "Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable garden, because it is near, next to my house; and for it I will give you a vineyard better than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:3 ============ 1Ki 21:3 But Naboth said to Ahab, "The Lord forbid me that I should give you the inheritance of my fathers."(nasb) 1Ki 21:3 καὶ εἶπεν Ναβουθαι πρὸς Αχααβ μή μοι γένοιτο παρὰ θεοῦ μου δοῦναι κληρονομίαν πατέρων μου σοί (lxx) 1Ki 21:3 Cui respondit Naboth: Propitius sit mihi Dominus, ne dem hæreditatem patrum meorum tibi.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:3 Aber Naboth sprach zu Ahab: Das lasse der HERR fern von mir sein, daß ich dir meiner Väter Erbe sollte geben!(dhs) 1Ki 21:3 But Naboth said to Ahab, "The Lord forbid that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!"(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:4 ============ 1Ki 21:4 So Ahab came into his house sullen and vexed because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he said, "I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers." And he lay down on his bed and turned away his face and ate no food.(nasb) 1Ki 21:4 καὶ ἐγένετο τὸ πνεῦμα Αχααβ τεταραγμένον καὶ ἐκοιμήθη ἐπὶ τῆς κλίνης αὐτοῦ καὶ συνεκάλυψεν τὸ πρώσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἔφαγεν ἄρτον (lxx) 1Ki 21:4 Venit ergo Achab in domum suam indignans, et frendens super verbo quod locutus fuerat ad eum Naboth Jezrahelites, dicens: Non dabo tibi hæreditatem patrum meorum. Et projiciens se in lectulum suum, avertit faciem suam ad parietem, et non comedit panem.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:4 Da kam Ahab heim voll Unmuts und zornig um des Wortes willen, das Naboth, der Jesreeliter, zu ihm hatte gesagt und gesprochen: Ich will dir meiner Väter Erbe nicht geben. Und er legte sich auf sein Bett und wandte sein Antlitz und aß kein Brot.(dhs) 1Ki 21:4 So Ahab went into his house sullen and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he had said, "I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers." And he lay down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no food.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:5 ============ 1Ki 21:5 But Jezebel his wife came to him and said to him, "How is it that your spirit is so sullen that you are not eating food?"(nasb) 1Ki 21:5 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ιεζαβελ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτόν τί τὸ πνεῦμά σου τεταραγμένον καὶ οὐκ εἶ σὺ ἐσθίων ἄρτον (lxx) 1Ki 21:5 Ingressa est autem ad eum Jezabel uxor sua, dixitque ei: Quid est hoc, unde anima tua contristata est? et quare non comedis panem?(vulgate) 1Ki 21:5 Da kam zu ihm hinein Isebel, sein Weib, und redete mit ihm: Was ist's, daß du nicht Brot ißt?(dhs) 1Ki 21:5 But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, "Why is your spirit so sullen that you eat no food?"(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:6 ============ 1Ki 21:6 So he said to her, "Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite and said to him, 'Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you a vineyard in its place.' Et ille ait: Non dabo tibi vineam meam.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:6 Er sprach zu ihr: Ich habe mit Naboth, dem Jesreeliten, geredet und gesagt: Gib mir deinen Weinberg um Geld, oder, so du Lust dazu hast, will ich dir einen andern dafür geben. Er aber sprach: Ich will dir meinen Weinberg nicht geben.(dhs) 1Ki 21:6 He said to her, "Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, 'Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it.' And he answered, 'I will not give you my vineyard.' "(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:7 ============ 1Ki 21:7 Jezebel his wife said to him, "Do you now reign over Israel? Arise, eat bread, and let your heart be joyful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite."(nasb) 1Ki 21:7 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ιεζαβελ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ σὺ νῦν οὕτως ποιεῖς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἀνάστηθι φάγε ἄρτον καὶ σαυτοῦ γενοῦ ἐγὼ δώσω σοι τὸν ἀμπελῶνα Ναβουθαι τοῦ Ιεζραηλίτου (lxx) 1Ki 21:7 Dixit ergo ad eum Jezabel uxor ejus: Grandis auctoritatis es, et bene regis regnum Israël. Surge, et comede panem, et æquo animo esto: ego dabo tibi vineam Naboth Jezrahelitæ.~(vulgate) 1Ki 21:7 Da sprach Isebel, sein Weib, zu ihm: Was wäre für ein Königreich in Israel, wenn du nicht tätig wärst! Stehe auf und iß Brot und sei guten Muts! Ich will dir den Weinberg Naboths, des Jesreeliten, verschaffen.(dhs) 1Ki 21:7 Then Jezebel his wife said to him, "You now exercise authority over Israel! Arise, eat food, and let your heart be cheerful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:8 ============ 1Ki 21:8 So she wrote letters in Ahab's name and sealed them with his seal, and sent letters to the elders and to the nobles who were living with Naboth in his city.(nasb) 1Ki 21:8 καὶ ἔγραψεν βιβλίον ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Αχααβ καὶ ἐσφραγίσατο τῇ σφραγῖδι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους καὶ τοὺς ἐλευθέρους τοὺς κατοικοῦντας μετὰ Ναβουθαι (lxx) 1Ki 21:8 Scripsit itaque litteras ex nomine Achab, et signavit eas annulo ejus, et misit ad majores natu, et optimates, qui erant in civitate ejus, et habitabant cum Naboth.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:8 Und sie schrieb Briefe unter Ahabs Namen und versiegelte sie mit seinem Siegel und sandte sie zu den Ältesten und Obersten in seiner Stadt, die um Naboth wohnten.(dhs) 1Ki 21:8 And she wrote letters in Ahab's name, sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and the nobles who were dwelling in the city with Naboth.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:9 ============ 1Ki 21:9 Now she wrote in the letters, saying, "Proclaim a fast and seat Naboth at the head of the people;(nasb) 1Ki 21:9 καὶ ἐγέγραπτο ἐν τοῖς βιβλίοις λέγων νηστεύσατε νηστείαν καὶ καθίσατε τὸν Ναβουθαι ἐν ἀρχῇ τοῦ λαοῦ (lxx) 1Ki 21:9 Litterarum autem hæc erat sententia: Prædicate jejunium, et sedere facite Naboth inter primos populi:(vulgate) 1Ki 21:9 Und sie schrieb also in diesen Briefen: Laßt ein Fasten ausschreien und setzt Naboth obenan im Volk(dhs) 1Ki 21:9 She wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and seat Naboth with high honor among the people;(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:10 ============ 1Ki 21:10 and seat two worthless men before him, and let them testify against him, saying, 'You cursed God and the king.' Then take him out and stone him to death."(nasb) 1Ki 21:10 καὶ ἐγκαθίσατε δύο ἄνδρας υἱοὺς παρανόμων ἐξ ἐναντίας αὐτοῦ καὶ καταμαρτυρησάτωσαν αὐτοῦ λέγοντες ηὐλόγησεν θεὸν καὶ βασιλέα καὶ ἐξαγαγέτωσαν αὐτὸν καὶ λιθοβολησάτωσαν αὐτόν καὶ ἀποθανέτω (lxx) 1Ki 21:10 et submittite duos viros filios Belial contra eum, et falsum testimonium dicant: Benedixit Deum et regem: et educite eum, et lapidate, sicque moriatur.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:10 und stellt zwei lose Buben vor ihn, die da Zeugen und sprechen: Du hast Gott und den König gelästert! und führt ihn hinaus und steinigt ihn, daß er sterbe.(dhs) 1Ki 21:10 and seat two men, scoundrels, before him to bear witness against him, saying, "You have blasphemed God and the king." Then take him out, and stone him, that he may die.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:11 ============ 1Ki 21:11 So the men of his city, the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had sent word to them, just as it was written in the letters which she had sent them.(nasb) 1Ki 21:11 καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ ἄνδρες τῆς πόλεως αὐτοῦ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι καὶ οἱ ἐλεύθεροι οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐν τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ καθὰ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Ιεζαβελ καθὰ γέγραπται ἐν τοῖς βιβλίοις οἷς ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτούς (lxx) 1Ki 21:11 Fecerunt ergo cives ejus majores natu et optimates, qui habitabant cum eo in urbe, sicut præceperat eis Jezabel, et sicut scriptum erat in litteris quas miserat ad eos:(vulgate) 1Ki 21:11 Und die Ältesten und Obersten seiner Stadt, die in seiner Stadt wohnten, taten, wie ihnen Isebel entboten hatte, wie sie in den Briefen geschrieben hatte, die sie zu ihnen sandte,(dhs) 1Ki 21:11 So the men of his city, the elders and nobles who were inhabitants of his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:12 ============ 1Ki 21:12 They proclaimed a fast and seated Naboth at the head of the people.(nasb) 1Ki 21:12 ἐκάλεσαν νηστείαν καὶ ἐκάθισαν τὸν Ναβουθαι ἐν ἀρχῇ τοῦ λαοῦ (lxx) 1Ki 21:12 prædicaverunt jejunium, et sedere fecerunt Naboth inter primos populi.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:12 und ließen ein Fasten ausschreien und ließen Naboth obenan unter dem Volk sitzen.(dhs) 1Ki 21:12 They proclaimed a fast, and seated Naboth with high honor among the people.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:13 ============ 1Ki 21:13 Then the two worthless men came in and sat before him; and the worthless men testified against him, even against Naboth, before the people, saying, "Naboth cursed God and the king." So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.(nasb) 1Ki 21:13 καὶ ἦλθον δύο ἄνδρες υἱοὶ παρανόμων καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐξ ἐναντίας αὐτοῦ καὶ κατεμαρτύρησαν αὐτοῦ λέγοντες ηὐλόγηκας θεὸν καὶ βασιλέα καὶ ἐξήγαγον αὐτὸν ἔξω τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἐλιθοβόλησαν αὐτὸν λίθοις καὶ ἀπέθανεν (lxx) 1Ki 21:13 Et adductis duobus viris filiis diaboli, fecerunt eos sedere contra eum: at illi, scilicet ut viri diabolici, dixerunt contra eum testimonium coram multitudine: Benedixit Naboth Deum et regem: quam ob rem eduxerunt eum extra civitatem, et lapidibus interfecerunt.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:13 Da kamen die zwei losen Buben und stellten sich vor ihn und zeugten wider Naboth vor dem Volk und sprachen: Naboth hat Gott und den König gelästert. Da führten sie ihn vor die Stadt hinaus und steinigten ihn, daß er starb.(dhs) 1Ki 21:13 And two men, scoundrels, came in and sat before him; and the scoundrels witnessed against him, against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, "Naboth has blasphemed God and the king!" Then they took him outside the city and stoned him with stones, so that he died.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:14 ============ 1Ki 21:14 Then they sent word to Jezebel, saying, "Naboth has been stoned and is dead."(nasb) 1Ki 21:14 καὶ ἀπέστειλαν πρὸς Ιεζαβελ λέγοντες λελιθοβόληται Ναβουθαι καὶ τέθνηκεν (lxx) 1Ki 21:14 Miseruntque ad Jezabel, dicentes: Lapidatus est Naboth, et mortuus est.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:14 Und sie entboten Isebel und ließen ihr sagen: Naboth ist gesteinigt und tot.(dhs) 1Ki 21:14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, "Naboth has been stoned and is dead."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:15 ============ 1Ki 21:15 When Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, Jezebel said to Ahab, "Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth, the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead."(nasb) 1Ki 21:15 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν Ιεζαβελ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς Αχααβ ἀνάστα κληρονόμει τὸν ἀμπελῶνα Ναβουθαι τοῦ Ιεζραηλίτου ὃς οὐκ ἔδωκέν σοι ἀργυρίου ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν Ναβουθαι ζῶν ὅτι τέθνηκεν (lxx) 1Ki 21:15 Factum est autem, cum audisset Jezabel lapidatum Naboth et mortuum, locuta est ad Achab: Surge, et posside vineam Naboth Jezrahelitæ, qui noluit tibi acquiescere, et dare eam accepta pecunia: non enim vivit Naboth, sed mortuus est.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:15 Da aber Isebel hörte, daß Naboth gesteinigt und tot war, sprach sie zu Ahab: Stehe auf und nimm ein den Weinberg Naboths, des Jesreeliten, welchen er sich weigerte dir um Geld zu geben; denn Naboth lebt nimmer, sondern ist tot.(dhs) 1Ki 21:15 And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, "Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:16 ============ 1Ki 21:16 When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, Ahab arose to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.(nasb) 1Ki 21:16 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν Αχααβ ὅτι τέθνηκεν Ναβουθαι ὁ Ιεζραηλίτης καὶ διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια ἑαυτοῦ καὶ περιεβάλετο σάκκον καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ ταῦτα καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ κατέβη Αχααβ εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα Ναβουθαι τοῦ Ιεζραηλίτου κληρονομῆσαι αὐτόν (lxx) 1Ki 21:16 Quod cum audisset Achab, mortuum videlicet Naboth, surrexit, et descendebat in vineam Naboth Jezrahelitæ, ut possideret eam.~(vulgate) 1Ki 21:16 Da Ahab hörte, daß Naboth tot war, stand er auf, daß er hinabginge zum Weinberge Naboths, des Jesreeliten, und ihn einnähme.(dhs) 1Ki 21:16 So it was, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab got up and went down to take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:17 ============ 1Ki 21:17 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,(nasb) 1Ki 21:17 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Ηλιου τὸν Θεσβίτην λέγων (lxx) 1Ki 21:17 Factum est igitur sermo Domini ad Eliam Thesbiten, dicens:(vulgate) 1Ki 21:17 Aber das Wort des HERRN kam zu Elia, dem Thisbiter, und sprach:(dhs) 1Ki 21:17 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:18 ============ 1Ki 21:18 "Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth where he has gone down to take possession of it.(nasb) 1Ki 21:18 ἀνάστηθι καὶ κατάβηθι εἰς ἀπαντὴν Αχααβ βασιλέως Ισραηλ τοῦ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ ἰδοὺ οὗτος ἐν ἀμπελῶνι Ναβουθαι ὅτι καταβέβηκεν ἐκεῖ κληρονομῆσαι αὐτόν (lxx) 1Ki 21:18 Surge, et descende in occursum Achab regis Israël, qui est in Samaria: ecce ad vineam Naboth descendit, ut possideat eam.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:18 Mache dich auf und gehe hinab, Ahab, dem König Israels, entgegen, der zu Samaria ist, siehe, er ist im Weinberge Naboths, dahin er ist hinabgegangen, daß er ihn einnehme,(dhs) 1Ki 21:18 "Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who lives in Samaria. There he is, in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:19 ============ 1Ki 21:19 You shall speak to him, saying, 'Thus says the Lord, "Have you murdered and also taken possession?"' And you shall speak to him, saying, 'Thus says the Lord, "In the place where the dogs licked up the blood of Naboth the dogs will lick up your blood, even yours."'"(nasb) 1Ki 21:19 καὶ λαλήσεις πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγων τάδε λέγει κύριος ὡς σὺ ἐφόνευσας καὶ ἐκληρονόμησας διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ ᾧ ἔλειξαν αἱ ὕες καὶ οἱ κύνες τὸ αἷμα Ναβουθαι ἐκεῖ λείξουσιν οἱ κύνες τὸ αἷμά σου καὶ αἱ πόρναι λούσονται ἐν τῷ αἵματί σου (lxx) 1Ki 21:19 Et loqueris ad eum, dicens: Hæc dicit Dominus: Occidisti, insuper et possedisti. Et post hæc addes: Hæc dicit Dominus: In loco hoc, in quo linxerunt canes sanguinem Naboth, lambent quoque sanguinem tuum.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:19 und rede mit ihm und sprich: So spricht der HERR: Du hast totgeschlagen, dazu auch in Besitz genommen. Und sollst mit ihm reden und Sagen: So spricht der HERR: An der Stätte, da Hunde das Blut Naboths geleckt haben, sollen auch Hunde dein Blut lecken.(dhs) 1Ki 21:19 You shall speak to him, saying, 'Thus says the Lord: "Have you murdered and also taken possession?" ' And you shall speak to him, saying, 'Thus says the Lord: "In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs shall lick your blood, even yours." ' "(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 21:20 ============ 1Ki 21:20 Ahab said to Elijah, "Have you found me, O my enemy?" And he answered, "I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord.(nasb) 1Ki 21:20 καὶ εἶπεν Αχααβ πρὸς Ηλιου εἰ εὕρηκάς με ὁ ἐχθρός μου καὶ εἶπεν εὕρηκα διότι μάτην πέπρασαι ποιῆσαι τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου παροργίσαι αὐτόν (lxx) 1Ki 21:20 Et ait Achab ad Eliam: Num invenisti me inimicum tibi? Qui dixit: Inveni, eo quod venundatus sis, ut faceres malum in conspectu Domini.(vulgate) 1Ki 21:20 Und Ahab sprach zu Elia: Hast du mich gefunden, mein Feind? Er aber sprach: Ja, ich habe dich gefunden, darum daß du dich verkauft hast, nur Übles zu tun vor dem HERRN.(dhs) 1Ki 21:20 So Ahab said to Elijah, "Have you found me, O my enemy?"
