Und David machte einen Bund mit ihnen zu Hebron vor dem HERRN. Nevertheless David captured the stronghold of Zion (that is, the city of David).(nasb) 1Ch 11:5 εἶπαν δὲ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιεβους τῷ Δαυιδ οὐκ εἰσελεύσῃ ὧδε καὶ προκατελάβετο τὴν περιοχὴν Σιων αὕτη ἡ πόλις Δαυιδ (lxx) 1Ch 11:5 Dixeruntque qui habitabant in Jebus ad David: Non ingredieris huc. Porro David cepit arcem Sion, quæ est civitas David,(vulgate) 1Ch 11:5 Und die Bürger zu Jebus sprachen zu David: Du sollst nicht hereinkommen. David aber gewann die Burg Zion, das ist Davids Stadt.(dhs) 1Ch 11:5 Then the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, "You shall not come in here!" Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David).(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:6 ============ 1Ch 11:6 Now David had said, "Whoever strikes down a Jebusite first shall be chief and commander." Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, so he became chief.(nasb) 1Ch 11:6 καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ πᾶς τύπτων Ιεβουσαῖον ἐν πρώτοις καὶ ἔσται εἰς ἄρχοντα καὶ εἰς στρατηγόν καὶ ἀνέβη ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν ἐν πρώτοις Ιωαβ υἱὸς Σαρουια καὶ ἐγένετο εἰς ἄρχοντα (lxx) 1Ch 11:6 dixitque: Omnis qui percusserit Jebusæum in primis, erit princeps et dux. Ascendit igitur primus Joab filius Sarviæ, et factus est princeps.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:6 Und David sprach: Wer die Jebusiter am ersten schlägt, der soll ein Haupt und Oberster sein. Da erstieg sie am ersten Joab, der Zeruja Sohn, und ward Hauptmann.(dhs) 1Ch 11:6 Now David said, "Whoever attacks the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain." Joab aber ließ leben die übrigen in der Stadt.(dhs) 1Ch 11:8 And he built the city around it, from the Millo to the surrounding area. Joab repaired the rest of the city.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:9 ============ 1Ch 11:9 David became greater and greater, for the Lord of hosts was with him.(nasb) 1Ch 11:9 καὶ ἐπορεύετο Δαυιδ πορευόμενος καὶ μεγαλυνόμενος καὶ κύριος παντοκράτωρ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Ch 11:9 Proficiebatque David vadens et crescens, et Dominus exercituum erat cum eo.~(vulgate) 1Ch 11:9 Und David nahm immer mehr zu, und der HERR Zebaoth war mit ihm.(dhs) 1Ch 11:9 Then David went on and became great, and the Lord of hosts was with him.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:10 ============ 1Ch 11:10 Now these are the heads of the mighty men whom David had, who gave him strong support in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.(nasb) 1Ch 11:10 καὶ οὗτοι οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν δυνατῶν οἳ ἦσαν τῷ Δαυιδ οἱ κατισχύοντες μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ αὐτοῦ μετὰ παντὸς Ισραηλ τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν κατὰ τὸν λόγον κυρίου ἐπὶ Ισραηλ (lxx) 1Ch 11:10 Hi principes virorum fortium David, qui adjuverunt eum ut rex fieret super omnem Israël, juxta verbum Domini quod locutus est ad Israël.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:10 Dies sind die Obersten unter den Helden Davids, die sich redlich mit ihm hielten in seinem Königreiche bei ganz Israel, daß man ihn zum König machte nach dem Wort des HERRN über Israel.(dhs) 1Ch 11:10 Now these were the heads of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:11 ============ 1Ch 11:11 These constitute the list of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the thirty; he lifted up his spear against three hundred whom he killed at one time.(nasb) 1Ch 11:11 καὶ οὗτος ὁ ἀριθμὸς τῶν δυνατῶν τοῦ Δαυιδ Ιεσεβααλ υἱὸς Αχαμανι πρῶτος τῶν τριάκοντα οὗτος ἐσπάσατο τὴν ῥομφαίαν αὐτοῦ ἅπαξ ἐπὶ τριακοσίους τραυματίας ἐν καιρῷ ἑνί (lxx) 1Ch 11:11 Et iste numerus robustorum David: Jesbaam filius Hachamoni princeps inter triginta: iste levavit hastam suam super trecentos vulneratos una vice.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:11 Und dies ist die Zahl der Helden Davids: Jasobeam, der Sohn Hachmonis, der Vornehmste unter den dreißig; er hob seinen Spieß auf und schlug dreihundert auf einmal.(dhs) 1Ch 11:11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam the son of a Hachmonite, chief of the captains; he had lifted up his spear against three hundred, killed by him at one time.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:12 ============ 1Ch 11:12 After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.(nasb) 1Ch 11:12 καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτὸν Ελεαζαρ υἱὸς Δωδαι ὁ Αχωχι οὗτος ἦν ἐν τοῖς τρισὶν δυνατοῖς (lxx) 1Ch 11:12 Et post eum Eleazar filius patrui ejus Ahohites, qui erat inter tres potentes.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:12 Nach ihm aber Eleasar, der Sohn Dodos, der Ahohiter; und er war unter den drei Helden.(dhs) 1Ch 11:12 After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:13 ============ 1Ch 11:13 He was with David at Pasdammim when the Philistines were gathered together there to battle, and there was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled before the Philistines.(nasb) 1Ch 11:13 οὗτος ἦν μετὰ Δαυιδ ἐν Φασοδομιν καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι συνήχθησαν ἐκεῖ εἰς πόλεμον καὶ ἦν μερὶς τοῦ ἀγροῦ πλήρης κριθῶν καὶ ὁ λαὸς ἔφυγεν ἀπὸ προσώπου ἀλλοφύλων (lxx) 1Ch 11:13 Iste fuit cum David in Phesdomim, quando Philisthiim congregati sunt ad locum illum in prælium: et erat ager regionis illius plenus hordeo, fugeratque populus a facie Philisthinorum.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:13 Dieser war mit David zu Pas-Dammim, da die Philister sich daselbst versammelt hatten zu Streit. Und es war da ein Stück Acker voll Gerste. Und das Volk floh vor den Philistern.(dhs) 1Ch 11:13 He was with David at Pasdammim. Now there the Philistines were gathered for battle, and there was a piece of ground full of barley. And the people fled from the Philistines.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:14 ============ 1Ch 11:14 They took their stand in the midst of the plot and defended it, and struck down the Philistines; and the Lord saved them by a great victory.(nasb) 1Ch 11:14 καὶ ἔστη ἐν μέσῳ τῆς μερίδος καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐπάταξεν τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους καὶ ἐποίησεν κύριος σωτηρίαν μεγάλην (lxx) 1Ch 11:14 Hi steterunt in medio agri, et defenderunt eum: cumque percussissent Philisthæos, dedit Dominus salutem magnam populo suo.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:14 Und sie traten mitten aufs Stück und erretteten es und schlugen die Philister; und der HERR gab großes Heil.(dhs) 1Ch 11:14 But they stationed themselves in the middle of that field, defended it, and killed the Philistines. So the Lord brought about a great victory.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:15 ============ 1Ch 11:15 Now three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam, while the army of the Philistines was camping in the valley of Rephaim.(nasb) 1Ch 11:15 καὶ κατέβησαν τρεῖς ἐκ τῶν τριάκοντα ἀρχόντων εἰς τὴν πέτραν πρὸς Δαυιδ εἰς τὸ σπήλαιον Οδολλαμ καὶ παρεμβολὴ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων παρεμβεβλήκει ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι τῶν γιγάντων (lxx) 1Ch 11:15 Descenderunt autem tres de triginta principibus ad petram, in qua erat David, ad speluncam Odollam, quando Philisthiim fuerant castrametati in valle Raphaim.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:15 Und drei aus dem dreißig Vornehmsten zogen hinab zum Felsen zu David in die Höhle Adullam; aber der Philister Lager lag im Grunde Rephaim.(dhs) 1Ch 11:15 Now three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines encamped in the Valley of Rephaim.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:16 ============ 1Ch 11:16 David was then in the stronghold, while the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.(nasb) 1Ch 11:16 καὶ Δαυιδ τότε ἐν τῇ περιοχῇ καὶ τὸ σύστεμα τῶν ἀλλοφύλων τότε ἐν Βαιθλεεμ (lxx) 1Ch 11:16 Porro David erat in præsidio, et statio Philisthinorum in Bethlehem.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:16 David aber war an sicherem Ort; und die Schildwacht der Philister war dazumal zu Bethlehem.(dhs) 1Ch 11:16 David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:17 ============ 1Ch 11:17 David had a craving and said, "Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!"(nasb) 1Ch 11:17 καὶ ἐπεθύμησεν Δαυιδ καὶ εἶπεν τίς ποτιεῖ με ὕδωρ ἐκ τοῦ λάκκου Βαιθλεεμ τοῦ ἐν τῇ πύλῃ (lxx) 1Ch 11:17 Desideravit igitur David, et dixit: O si quis daret mihi aquam de cisterna Bethlehem, quæ est in porta!(vulgate) 1Ch 11:17 Und David ward lüstern und sprach: Wer will mir Wasser zu trinken geben aus dem Brunnen zu Bethlehem unter dem Tor?(dhs) 1Ch 11:17 And David said with longing, "Oh, that someone would give me a drink of water from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!"(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:18 ============ 1Ch 11:18 So the three broke through the camp of the Philistines and drew water from the well of Bethlehem which was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David; nevertheless David would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord;(nasb) 1Ch 11:18 καὶ διέρρηξαν οἱ τρεῖς τὴν παρεμβολὴν τῶν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ὑδρεύσαντο ὕδωρ ἐκ τοῦ λάκκου τοῦ ἐν Βαιθλεεμ ὃς ἦν ἐν τῇ πύλῃ καὶ ἔλαβον καὶ ἦλθον πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν Δαυιδ τοῦ πιεῖν αὐτὸ καὶ ἔσπεισεν αὐτὸ τῷ κυρίῳ (lxx) 1Ch 11:18 Tres ergo isti per media castra Philisthinorum perrexerunt, et hauserunt aquam de cisterna Bethlehem quæ erat in porta, et attulerunt ad David ut biberet. Nevertheless David would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:19 ============ 1Ch 11:19 and he said, "Be it far from me before my God that I should do this. Shall I drink the blood of these men who went at the risk of their lives? For at the risk of their lives they brought it." Therefore he would not drink it. These things the three mighty men did.(nasb) 1Ch 11:19 καὶ εἶπεν ἵλεώς μοι ὁ θεὸς τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο εἰ αἷμα ἀνδρῶν τούτων πίομαι ἐν ψυχαῖς αὐτῶν ὅτι ἐν ψυχαῖς αὐτῶν ἤνεγκαν αὐτό καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο πιεῖν αὐτό ταῦτα ἐποίησαν οἱ τρεῖς δυνατοί (lxx) 1Ch 11:19 dicens: Absit ut in conspectu Dei mei hoc faciam, et sanguinem istorum virorum bibam: quia in periculo animarum suarum attulerunt mihi aquam. Et ob hanc causam noluit bibere: hæc fecerunt tres robustissimi.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:19 und sprach: Das lasse mein Gott fern von mir sein, daß ich solches tue und trinke das Blut dieser Männer in ihres Lebens Gefahr; denn sie haben's mit ihres Lebens Gefahr hergebracht! Darum wollte er's nicht trinken. Das taten die drei Helden.(dhs) 1Ch 11:19 And he said, "Far be it from me, O my God, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy? For at the risk of their lives they brought it." Therefore he would not drink it. These things were done by the three mighty men.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:20 ============ 1Ch 11:20 As for Abshai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the thirty, and he swung his spear against three hundred and killed them; and he had a name as well as the thirty.(nasb) 1Ch 11:20 καὶ Αβεσσα ἀδελφὸς Ιωαβ οὗτος ἦν ἄρχων τῶν τριῶν οὗτος ἐσπάσατο τὴν ῥομφαίαν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τριακοσίους τραυματίας ἐν καιρῷ ἑνί καὶ οὗτος ἦν ὀνομαστὸς ἐν τοῖς τρισίν (lxx) 1Ch 11:20 Abisai quoque frater Joab ipse erat princeps trium, et ipse levavit hastam suam contra trecentos vulneratos, et ipse erat inter tres nominatissimus,(vulgate) 1Ch 11:20 Abisai, der Bruder Joabs, der war der Vornehmste unter dreien; und er hob seinen Spieß auf und schlug dreihundert. Und er war unter dreien berühmt,(dhs) 1Ch 11:20 Abishai the brother of Joab was chief of another three. He had lifted up his spear against three hundred men, killed them, and won a name among these three.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:21 ============ 1Ch 11:21 Of the three in the second rank he was the most honored and became their commander; however, he did not attain to the first three.(nasb) 1Ch 11:21 ἀπὸ τῶν τριῶν ὑπὲρ τοὺς δύο ἔνδοξος καὶ ἦν αὐτοῖς εἰς ἄρχοντα καὶ ἕως τῶν τριῶν οὐκ ἤρχετο (lxx) 1Ch 11:21 et inter tres secundos inclytus, et princeps eorum: verumtamen usque ad tres primos non pervenerat.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:21 und er, der dritte, herrlicher denn die zwei und war ihr Oberster; aber bis an jene drei kam er nicht.(dhs) 1Ch 11:21 Of the three he was more honored than the other two men. Therefore he became their captain. However he did not attain to the first three.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:22 ============ 1Ch 11:22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, mighty in deeds, struck down the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion inside a pit on a snowy day.(nasb) 1Ch 11:22 καὶ Βαναιας υἱὸς Ιωδαε υἱὸς ἀνδρὸς δυνατοῦ πολλὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ ὑπὲρ Καβασαηλ οὗτος ἐπάταξεν τοὺς δύο αριηλ Μωαβ καὶ οὗτος κατέβη καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν λέοντα ἐν τῷ λάκκῳ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ χιόνος (lxx) 1Ch 11:22 Banaias filius Jojadæ viri robustissimi, qui multa opera perpetrarat, de Cabseel: ipse percussit duos ariel Moab, et ipse descendit et interfecit leonem in media cisterna tempore nivis.(vulgate) 1Ch 11:22 Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, des Sohnes Is-Hails, von großen Taten, von Kabzeel, er schlug zwei Helden der Moabiter und ging hinab und schlug einen Löwen mitten im Brunnen zur Schneezeit.(dhs) 1Ch 11:22 Benaiah was the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man from Kabzeel, who had done many deeds. He had killed two lion-like heroes of Moab. He also had gone down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 11:23 ============ 1Ch 11:23 He killed an Egyptian, a man of great stature five cubits tall.
