The archers hit him, and he was wounded by the archers.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 10:4 ============ 1Ch 10:4 Then Saul said to his armor bearer, "Draw your sword and thrust me through with it, otherwise these uncircumcised will come and abuse me." But his armor bearer would not, for he was greatly afraid. Therefore Saul took his sword and fell on it.(nasb) 1Ch 10:4 καὶ εἶπεν Σαουλ τῷ αἴροντι τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ σπάσαι τὴν ῥομφαίαν σου καὶ ἐκκέντησόν με ἐν αὐτῇ μὴ ἔλθωσιν οἱ ἀπερίτμητοι οὗτοι καὶ ἐμπαίξωσίν μοι καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο ὁ αἴρων τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἐφοβεῖτο σφόδρα καὶ ἔλαβεν Σαουλ τὴν ῥομφαίαν καὶ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν (lxx) 1Ch 10:4 Et dixit Saul ad armigerum suum: Evagina gladium tuum, et interfice me, ne forte veniant incircumcisi isti, et illudant mihi. Noluit autem armiger ejus hoc facere, timore perterritus: arripuit ergo Saul ensem, et irruit in eum.(vulgate) 1Ch 10:4 Da sprach Saul zu seinem Waffenträger: Zieh dein Schwert aus und erstich mich damit, daß diese Unbeschnittenen nicht kommen und schändlich mit mir umgehen! Aber sein Waffenträger wollte nicht; denn er fürchtete sich sehr. and the Philistines came and lived in them.(nasb) 1Ch 10:7 καὶ εἶδεν πᾶς ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ ὁ ἐν τῷ αὐλῶνι ὅτι ἔφυγεν Ισραηλ καὶ ὅτι ἀπέθανεν Σαουλ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ κατέλιπον τὰς πόλεις αὐτῶν καὶ ἔφυγον καὶ ἦλθον ἀλλόφυλοι καὶ κατῴκησαν ἐν αὐταῖς (lxx) 1Ch 10:7 Quod cum vidissent viri Israël qui habitabant in campestribus, fugerunt: et Saul ac filiis ejus mortuis, dereliquerunt urbes suas, et huc illucque dispersi sunt: veneruntque Philisthiim, et habitaverunt in eis.(vulgate) 1Ch 10:7 Da aber die Männer Israels, die im Grunde wohnten, sahen, daß sie geflohen waren und daß Saul und seine Söhne tot waren, verließen sie ihre Städte und flohen, und die Philister kamen und wohnten darin.(dhs) 1Ch 10:7 And when all the men of Israel who were in the valley saw that they had fled and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook their cities and fled; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of it,(nasb) 1Ch 10:13 καὶ ἀπέθανεν Σαουλ ἐν ταῖς ἀνομίαις αὐτοῦ αἷς ἠνόμησεν τῷ κυρίῳ κατὰ τὸν λόγον κυρίου διότι οὐκ ἐφύλαξεν ὅτι ἐπηρώτησεν Σαουλ ἐν τῷ ἐγγαστριμύθῳ τοῦ ζητῆσαι καὶ ἀπεκρίνατο αὐτῷ Σαμουηλ ὁ προφήτης (lxx) 1Ch 10:13 Mortuus est ergo Saul propter iniquitates suas, eo quod prævaricatus sit mandatum Domini quod præceperat, et non custodierit illud: sed insuper etiam pythonissam consuluerit,(vulgate) 1Ch 10:13 Also starb Saul an seiner Missetat, die er wider den HERRN getan hatte an dem Wort des HERRN, das er nicht hielt; auch daß er die Wahrsagerin fragte(dhs) 1Ch 10:13 So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the Lord, because he did not keep the word of the Lord, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance.(nkjv) ======= 1 Chronicles 10:14 ============ 1Ch 10:14 and did not inquire of the Lord.
