Today's Date: Job 33:33 If not, listen to me; Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom."(nkjv) ======= Job 34:1 ============ Job 34:1 Then Elihu continued and said,(nasb) Job 34:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ελιους λέγει (lxx) Job 34:1 Pronuntians itaque Eliu, etiam hæc locutus est:(vulgate) Job 34:1 Und es hob an Elihu und sprach:(dhs) Job 34:1 Elihu further answered and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 34:2 ============ Job 34:2 "Hear my words, you wise men, And listen to me, you who know.(nasb) Job 34:2 ἀκούσατέ μου σοφοί ἐπιστάμενοι ἐνωτίζεσθε τὸ καλόν (lxx) Job 34:2 [Audite, sapientes, verba mea: et eruditi, auscultate me.(vulgate) Job 34:2 Hört, ihr Weisen, meine Rede, und ihr Verständigen, merkt auf mich!(dhs) Job 34:2 "Hear my words, you wise men; Give ear to me, you who have knowledge.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:3 ============ Job 34:3 "For the ear tests words As the palate tastes food.(nasb) Job 34:3 ὅτι οὖς λόγους δοκιμάζει καὶ λάρυγξ γεύεται βρῶσιν (lxx) Job 34:3 Auris enim verba probat, et guttur escas gustu dijudicat.(vulgate) Job 34:3 Denn das Ohr prüft die Rede, und der Mund schmeckt die Speise.(dhs) Job 34:3 For the ear tests words As the palate tastes food.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:4 ============ Job 34:4 "Let us choose for ourselves what is right; Let us know among ourselves what is good.(nasb) Job 34:4 κρίσιν ἑλώμεθα ἑαυτοῖς γνῶμεν ἀνὰ μέσον ἑαυτῶν ὅ τι καλόν (lxx) Job 34:4 Judicium eligamus nobis, et inter nos videamus quid sit melius.(vulgate) Job 34:4 Laßt uns ein Urteil finden, daß wir erkennen unter uns, was gut sei.(dhs) Job 34:4 Let us choose justice for ourselves; Let us know among ourselves what is good.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:5 ============ Job 34:5 "For Job has said, 'I am righteous, But God has taken away my right;(nasb) Job 34:5 ὅτι εἴρηκεν Ιωβ δίκαιός εἰμι ὁ κύριος ἀπήλλαξέν μου τὸ κρίμα (lxx) Job 34:5 Quia dixit Job: Justus sum, et Deus subvertit judicium meum.(vulgate) Job 34:5 Denn Hiob hat gesagt: "Ich bin gerecht, und Gott weigert mir mein Recht;(dhs) Job 34:5 "For Job has said, 'I am righteous, But God has taken away my justice;(nkjv) ======= Job 34:6 ============ Job 34:6 Should I lie concerning my right? My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.'(nkjv) ======= Job 34:7 ============ Job 34:7 "What man is like Job, Who drinks up derision like water,(nasb) Job 34:7 τίς ἀνὴρ ὥσπερ Ιωβ πίνων μυκτηρισμὸν ὥσπερ ὕδωρ (lxx) Job 34:7 Quis est vir ut est Job, qui bibit subsannationem quasi aquam:(vulgate) Job 34:7 Wer ist ein solcher Hiob, der da Spötterei trinkt wie Wasser(dhs) Job 34:7 What man is like Job, Who drinks scorn like water,(nkjv) ======= Job 34:8 ============ Job 34:8 Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, And walks with wicked men?(nasb) Job 34:8 οὐχ ἁμαρτὼν οὐδὲ ἀσεβήσας ἢ ὁδοῦ κοινωνήσας μετὰ ποιούντων τὰ ἄνομα τοῦ πορευθῆναι μετὰ ἀσεβῶν (lxx) Job 34:8 qui graditur cum operantibus iniquitatem, et ambulat cum viris impiis?(vulgate) Job 34:8 und auf dem Wege geht mit den Übeltätern und wandelt mit gottlosen Leuten?(dhs) Job 34:8 Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, And walks with wicked men?(nkjv) ======= Job 34:9 ============ Job 34:9 "For he has said, 'It profits a man nothing When he is pleased with God.'(nasb) Job 34:9 μὴ γὰρ εἴπῃς ὅτι οὐκ ἔσται ἐπισκοπὴ ἀνδρός καὶ ἐπισκοπὴ αὐτῷ παρὰ κυρίου (lxx) Job 34:9 Dixit enim: Non placebit vir Deo, etiam si cucurrerit cum eo.(vulgate) Job 34:9 Denn er hat gesagt: "Wenn jemand schon fromm ist, so gilt er doch nichts bei Gott."(dhs) Job 34:9 For he has said, 'It profits a man nothing That he should delight in God.'(nkjv) ======= Job 34:10 ============ Job 34:10 "Therefore, listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wickedness, And from the Almighty to do wrong.(nasb) Job 34:10 διό συνετοὶ καρδίας ἀκούσατέ μου μή μοι εἴη ἔναντι κυρίου ἀσεβῆσαι καὶ ἔναντι παντοκράτορος ταράξαι τὸ δίκαιον (lxx) Job 34:10 Ideo, viri cordati, audite me: absit a Deo impietas, et ab Omnipotente iniquitas.(vulgate) Job 34:10 Darum hört mir zu, ihr weisen Leute: Es sei ferne, daß Gott sollte gottlos handeln und der Allmächtige ungerecht;(dhs) Job 34:10 "Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: Far be it from God to do wickedness, And from the Almighty to commit iniquity.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:11 ============ Job 34:11 "For He pays a man according to his work, And makes him find it according to his way.(nasb) Job 34:11 ἀλλὰ ἀποδιδοῖ ἀνθρώπῳ καθὰ ποιεῖ ἕκαστος αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τρίβῳ ἀνδρὸς εὑρήσει αὐτόν (lxx) Job 34:11 Opus enim hominis reddet ei, et juxta vias singulorum restituet eis.(vulgate) Job 34:11 sondern er vergilt dem Menschen, darnach er verdient hat, und trifft einen jeglichen nach seinem Tun.(dhs) Job 34:11 For He repays man according to his work, And makes man to find a reward according to his way.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:12 ============ Job 34:12 "Surely, God will not act wickedly, And the Almighty will not pervert justice.(nasb) Job 34:12 οἴῃ δὲ τὸν κύριον ἄτοπα ποιήσειν ἢ ὁ παντοκράτωρ ταράξει κρίσιν (lxx) Job 34:12 Vere enim Deus non condemnabit frustra, nec Omnipotens subvertet judicium.(vulgate) Job 34:12 Ohne zweifel, Gott verdammt niemand mit Unrecht, und der Allmächtige beugt das Recht nicht.(dhs) Job 34:12 Surely God will never do wickedly, Nor will the Almighty pervert justice.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:13 ============ Job 34:13 "Who gave Him authority over the earth? And who has laid on Him the whole world?(nasb) Job 34:13 ὃς ἐποίησεν τὴν γῆν τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ ποιῶν τὴν ὑπ᾽ οὐρανὸν καὶ τὰ ἐνόντα πάντα (lxx) Job 34:13 Quem constituit alium super terram? aut quem posuit super orbem quem fabricatus est?(vulgate) Job 34:13 Wer hat, was auf Erden ist, verordnet, und wer hat den ganzen Erdboden gesetzt?(dhs) Job 34:13 Who gave Him charge over the earth? Or who appointed Him over the whole world?(nkjv) ======= Job 34:14 ============ Job 34:14 "If He should determine to do so, If He should gather to Himself His spirit and His breath,(nasb) Job 34:14 εἰ γὰρ βούλοιτο συνέχειν καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα παρ᾽ αὐτῷ κατασχεῖν (lxx) Job 34:14 Si direxerit ad eum cor suum, spiritum illius et flatum ad se trahet.(vulgate) Job 34:14 So er nun an sich dächte, seinen Geist und Odem an sich zöge,(dhs) Job 34:14 If He should set His heart on it, If He should gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath,(nkjv) ======= Job 34:15 ============ Job 34:15 All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust.(nasb) Job 34:15 τελευτήσει πᾶσα σὰρξ ὁμοθυμαδόν πᾶς δὲ βροτὸς εἰς γῆν ἀπελεύσεται ὅθεν καὶ ἐπλάσθη (lxx) Job 34:15 Deficiet omnis caro simul, et homo in cinerem revertetur.(vulgate) Job 34:15 so würde alles Fleisch miteinander vergehen, und der Mensch würde wieder zu Staub werden.(dhs) Job 34:15 All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:16 ============ Job 34:16 "But if you have understanding, hear this; Listen to the sound of my words.(nasb) Job 34:16 εἰ δὲ μὴ νουθετῇ ἄκουε ταῦτα ἐνωτίζου φωνὴν ῥημάτων (lxx) Job 34:16 Si habes ergo intellectum, audi quod dicitur, et ausculta vocem eloquii mei:(vulgate) Job 34:16 Hast du nun Verstand, so höre das und merke auf die Stimme meiner Reden.(dhs) Job 34:16 "If you have understanding, hear this; Listen to the sound of my words:(nkjv) ======= Job 34:17 ============ Job 34:17 "Shall one who hates justice rule? And will you condemn the righteous mighty One,(nasb) Job 34:17 ἰδὲ σὺ τὸν μισοῦντα ἄνομα καὶ τὸν ὀλλύντα τοὺς πονηροὺς ὄντα αἰώνιον δίκαιον (lxx) Job 34:17 numquid qui non amat judicium sanari potest? et quomodo tu eum qui justus est in tantum condemnas?(vulgate) Job 34:17 Kann auch, der das Recht haßt regieren? Oder willst du den, der gerecht und mächtig ist, verdammen?(dhs) Job 34:17 Should one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn Him who is most just?(nkjv) ======= Job 34:18 ============ Job 34:18 Who says to a king, 'Worthless one, 'To nobles, 'Wicked ones';(nasb) Job 34:18 ἀσεβὴς ὁ λέγων βασιλεῖ παρανομεῖς ἀσεβέστατε τοῖς ἄρχουσιν (lxx) Job 34:18 Qui dicit regi: Apostata; qui vocat duces impios;(vulgate) Job 34:18 Sollte einer zum König sagen: "Du heilloser Mann!" und zu den Fürsten: "Ihr Gottlosen!"?(dhs) Job 34:18 Is it fitting to say to a king, 'You are worthless,' And to nobles, 'You are wicked'?(nkjv) ======= Job 34:19 ============ Job 34:19 Who shows no partiality to princes Nor regards the rich above the poor, For they all are the work of His hands?(nasb) Job 34:19 ὃς οὐκ ἐπῃσχύνθη πρόσωπον ἐντίμου οὐδὲ οἶδεν τιμὴν θέσθαι ἁδροῖς θαυμασθῆναι πρόσωπα αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 34:19 qui non accipit personas principum, nec cognovit tyrannum cum disceptaret contra pauperem: opus enim manuum ejus sunt universi.(vulgate) Job 34:19 Und er sieht nicht an die Person der Fürsten und kennt den Herrlichen nicht mehr als den Armen; denn sie sind alle seiner Hände Werk.(dhs) Job 34:19 Yet He is not partial to princes, Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor; For they are all the work of His hands.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:20 ============ Job 34:20 "In a moment they die, and at midnight People are shaken and pass away, And the mighty are taken away without a hand.(nasb) Job 34:20 κενὰ δὲ αὐτοῖς ἀποβήσεται τὸ κεκραγέναι καὶ δεῖσθαι ἀνδρός ἐχρήσαντο γὰρ παρανόμως ἐκκλινομένων ἀδυνάτων (lxx) Job 34:20 Subito morientur, et in media nocte turbabuntur populi: et pertransibunt, et auferent violentum absque manu.(vulgate) Job 34:20 Plötzlich müssen die Leute sterben und zu Mitternacht erschrecken und vergehen; die Mächtigen werden weggenommen nicht durch Menschenhand.(dhs) Job 34:20 In a moment they die, in the middle of the night; The people are shaken and pass away; The mighty are taken away without a hand.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:21 ============ Job 34:21 "For His eyes are upon the ways of a man, And He sees all his steps.(nasb) Job 34:21 αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁρατής ἐστιν ἔργων ἀνθρώπων λέληθεν δὲ αὐτὸν οὐδὲν ὧν πράσσουσιν (lxx) Job 34:21 Oculi enim ejus super vias hominum, et omnes gressus eorum considerat.(vulgate) Job 34:21 Denn seine Augen sehen auf eines jeglichen Wege, und er schaut alle ihre Gänge.(dhs) Job 34:21 "For His eyes are on the ways of man, And He sees all his steps.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:22 ============ Job 34:22 "There is no darkness or deep shadow Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.(nasb) Job 34:22 οὐδὲ ἔσται τόπος τοῦ κρυβῆναι τοὺς ποιοῦντας τὰ ἄνομα (lxx) Job 34:22 Non sunt tenebræ, et non est umbra mortis, ut abscondantur ibi qui operantur iniquitatem,(vulgate) Job 34:22 Es ist keine Finsternis noch Dunkel, daß sich da möchten verbergen die Übeltäter.(dhs) Job 34:22 There is no darkness nor shadow of death Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:23 ============ Job 34:23 "For He does not need to consider a man further, That he should go before God in judgment.(nasb) Job 34:23 ὅτι οὐκ ἐπ᾽ ἄνδρα θήσει ἔτι ὁ γὰρ κύριος πάντας ἐφορᾷ (lxx) Job 34:23 neque enim ultra in hominis potestate est, ut veniat ad Deum in judicium.(vulgate) Job 34:23 Denn er darf auf den Menschen nicht erst lange achten, daß er vor Gott ins Gericht komme.(dhs) Job 34:23 For He need not further consider a man, That he should go before God in judgment.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:24 ============ Job 34:24 "He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry, And sets others in their place.(nasb) Job 34:24 ὁ καταλαμβάνων ἀνεξιχνίαστα ἔνδοξά τε καὶ ἐξαίσια ὧν οὐκ ἔστιν ἀριθμός (lxx) Job 34:24 Conteret multos, et innumerabiles, et stare faciet alios pro eis.(vulgate) Job 34:24 Er bringt die Stolzen um, ohne erst zu forschen, und stellt andere an ihre Statt:(dhs) Job 34:24 He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry, And sets others in their place.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:25 ============ Job 34:25 "Therefore He knows their works, And He overthrows them in the night, And they are crushed.(nasb) Job 34:25 ὁ γνωρίζων αὐτῶν τὰ ἔργα καὶ στρέψει νύκτα καὶ ταπεινωθήσονται (lxx) Job 34:25 Novit enim opera eorum, et idcirco inducet noctem, et conterentur.(vulgate) Job 34:25 darum daß er kennt ihre Werke und kehrt sie um des Nachts, daß sie zerschlagen werden.(dhs) Job 34:25 Therefore he knows their works; And when He hides His face, who then can behold Him, That is, in regard to both nation and man?--(nasb) Job 34:29 καὶ αὐτὸς ἡσυχίαν παρέξει καὶ τίς καταδικάσεται καὶ κρύψει πρόσωπον καὶ τίς ὄψεται αὐτόν καὶ κατὰ ἔθνους καὶ κατὰ ἀνθρώπου ὁμοῦ (lxx) Job 34:29 Ipso enim concedente pacem, quis est qui condemnet? ex quo absconderit vultum, quis est qui contempletur eum, et super gentes, et super omnes homines?(vulgate) Job 34:29 Wenn er Frieden gibt, wer will verdammen? und wenn er das Antlitz verbirgt, wer will ihn schauen unter den Völkern und Leuten allzumal?(dhs) Job 34:29 When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble? And when He hides His face, who then can see Him, Whether it is against a nation or a man alone?--(nkjv) ======= Job 34:30 ============ Job 34:30 So that godless men would not rule Nor be snares of the people.(nasb) Job 34:30 βασιλεύων ἄνθρωπον ὑποκριτὴν ἀπὸ δυσκολίας λαοῦ (lxx) Job 34:30 Qui regnare facit hominem hypocritam propter peccata populi.(vulgate) Job 34:30 Denn er läßt nicht über sie regieren einen Heuchler, das Volk zu drängen.(dhs) Job 34:30 That the hypocrite should not reign, Lest the people be ensnared.(nkjv) ======= Job 34:31 ============ Job 34:31 "For has anyone said to God, 'I have borne chastisement; I will not offend anymore;(nasb) Job 34:31 ὅτι πρὸς τὸν ἰσχυρὸν ὁ λέγων εἴληφα οὐκ ἐνεχυράσω (lxx) Job 34:31 Quia ergo ego locutus sum ad Deum, te quoque non prohibebo.(vulgate) Job 34:31 Denn zu Gott muß man sagen: "Ich habe gebüßt, ich will nicht übel tun.(dhs) Job 34:31 "For has anyone said to God, ' I have borne chastening; I will offend no more;(nkjv) ======= Job 34:32 ============ Job 34:32 Teach me what I do not see; If I have done iniquity, I will not do it again'?(nasb) Job 34:32 ἄνευ ἐμαυτοῦ ὄψομαι σὺ δεῖξόν μοι εἰ ἀδικίαν ἠργασάμην οὐ μὴ προσθήσω (lxx) Job 34:32 Si erravi, tu doce me; si iniquitatem locutus sum, ultra non addam.(vulgate) Job 34:32 Habe ich's nicht getroffen, so lehre du mich's besser; habe ich Unrecht gehandelt, ich will's nicht mehr tun."(dhs) Job 34:32 Teach me what I do not see; If I have done iniquity, I will do no more'?(nkjv) ======= Job 34:33 ============ Job 34:33 "Shall He recompense on your terms, because you have rejected it? For you must choose, and not I; Therefore declare what you know.(nasb) Job 34:33 μὴ παρὰ σοῦ ἀποτείσει αὐτήν ὅτι ἀπώσῃ ὅτι σὺ ἐκλέξῃ καὶ οὐκ ἐγώ καὶ τί ἔγνως λάλησον (lxx) Job 34:33 Numquid a te Deus expetit eam, quia displicuit tibi? tu enim cœpisti loqui, et non ego: quod si quid nosti melius, loquere.(vulgate) Job 34:33 Soll er nach deinem Sinn vergelten? Denn du verwirfst alles; du hast zu wählen, und nicht ich. Weißt du nun was, so sage an.(dhs) Job 34:33 Should He repay it according to your terms, Just because you disavow it?
