Now blow a trumpet in Tekoa And raise a signal over Beth-haccerem; For evil looks down from the north, And a great destruction.(nasb) Jer 6:1 ἐνισχύσατε υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ἐκ μέσου τῆς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐν Θεκουε σημάνατε σάλπιγγι καὶ ὑπὲρ Βαιθαχαρμα ἄρατε σημεῖον ὅτι κακὰ ἐκκέκυφεν ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ συντριβὴ μεγάλη γίνεται (lxx) Jer 6:1 [Confortamini, filii Benjamin, in medio Jerusalem: et in Thecua clangite buccina, et super Bethacarem levate vexillum, quia malum visum est ab aquilone, et contritio magna.(vulgate) Jer 6:1 Fliehet, ihr Kinder Benjamin, aus Jerusalem und blaset die Drommete auf der Warte Thekoa und werft auf ein Panier über der Warte Beth-Cherem! denn es geht daher ein Unglück von Mitternacht und ein großer Jammer.(dhs) Jer 6:1 "O you children of Benjamin, Gather yourselves to flee from the midst of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa, And set up a signal-fire in Beth Haccerem; For disaster appears out of the north, And great destruction.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:2 ============ Jer 6:2 "The comely and dainty one, the daughter of Zion, I will cut off.(nasb) Jer 6:2 καὶ ἀφαιρεθήσεται τὸ ὕψος σου θύγατερ Σιων (lxx) Jer 6:2 Speciosæ et delicatæ assimilavi filiam Sion.(vulgate) Jer 6:2 Die Tochter Zion ist wie eine schöne und lustige Aue.(dhs) Jer 6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion To a lovely and delicate woman.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:3 ============ Jer 6:3 "Shepherds and their flocks will come to her, They will pitch their tents around her, They will pasture each in his place.(nasb) Jer 6:3 εἰς αὐτὴν ἥξουσιν ποιμένες καὶ τὰ ποίμνια αὐτῶν καὶ πήξουσιν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν σκηνὰς κύκλῳ καὶ ποιμανοῦσιν ἕκαστος τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jer 6:3 Ad eam venient pastores et greges eorum; fixerunt in ea tentoria in circuitu: pascet unusquisque eos qui sub manu sua sunt.(vulgate) Jer 6:3 Aber es werden die Hirten über sie kommen mit ihren Herden, die werden Gezelte rings um sie her aufschlagen und weiden ein jeglicher an seinem Ort und sprechen:(dhs) Jer 6:3 The shepherds with their flocks shall come to her. They shall pitch their tents against her all around. Each one shall pasture in his own place."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:4 ============ Jer 6:4 "Prepare war against her; Arise, and let us attack at noon. Woe to us, for the day declines, For the shadows of the evening lengthen!(nasb) Jer 6:4 παρασκευάσασθε ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν εἰς πόλεμον ἀνάστητε καὶ ἀναβῶμεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν μεσημβρίας οὐαὶ ἡμῖν ὅτι κέκλικεν ἡ ἡμέρα ὅτι ἐκλείπουσιν αἱ σκιαὶ τῆς ἑσπέρας (lxx) Jer 6:4 Sanctificate super eam bellum: consurgite, et ascendamus in meridie: væ nobis, quia declinavit dies; quia longiores factæ sunt umbræ vesperi!(vulgate) Jer 6:4 "Rüstet euch zum Krieg wider sie! Wohlauf, laßt uns hinaufziehen, weil es noch hoch Tag ist! Ei, es will Abend werden, und die Schatten werden groß!(dhs) Jer 6:4 "Prepare war against her; Arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe to us, for the day goes away, For the shadows of the evening are lengthening.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:5 ============ Jer 6:5 "Arise, and let us attack by night And destroy her palaces!"(nasb) Jer 6:5 ἀνάστητε καὶ ἀναβῶμεν ἐν τῇ νυκτὶ καὶ διαφθείρωμεν τὰ θεμέλια αὐτῆς (lxx) Jer 6:5 Surgite, et ascendamus in nocte, et dissipemus domus ejus.(vulgate) Jer 6:5 Wohlan, so laßt uns auf sein, und sollten wir bei Nacht hinaufziehen und ihre Paläste verderben!"(dhs) Jer 6:5 Arise, and let us go by night, And let us destroy her palaces."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:6 ============ Jer 6:6 For thus says the Lord of hosts, "Cut down her trees And cast up a siege against Jerusalem. This is the city to be punished, In whose midst there is only oppression.(nasb) Jer 6:6 ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος ἔκκοψον τὰ ξύλα αὐτῆς ἔκχεον ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ δύναμιν ὦ πόλις ψευδής ὅλη καταδυναστεία ἐν αὐτῇ (lxx) Jer 6:6 Quia hæc dicit Dominus exercituum: Cædite lignum ejus, et fundite circa Jerusalem aggerem. Hæc est civitas visitationis: omnis calumnia in medio ejus.(vulgate) Jer 6:6 Denn also spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Fällt die Bäume und werft einen Wall auf wider Jerusalem; denn sie ist eine Stadt, die heimgesucht werden soll. Ist doch eitel Unrecht darin.(dhs) Jer 6:6 For thus has the Lord of hosts said: "Cut down trees, And build a mound against Jerusalem. This is the city to be punished. She is full of oppression in her midst.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:7 ============ Jer 6:7 "As a well keeps its waters fresh, So she keeps fresh her wickedness. Violence and destruction are heard in her; Sickness and wounds are ever before Me.(nasb) Jer 6:7 ὡς ψύχει λάκκος ὕδωρ οὕτως ψύχει κακία αὐτῆς ἀσέβεια καὶ ταλαιπωρία ἀκουσθήσεται ἐν αὐτῇ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτῆς διὰ παντός πόνῳ καὶ μάστιγι (lxx) Jer 6:7 Sicut frigidam fecit cisterna aquam suam, sic frigidam fecit malitiam suam. Iniquitas et vastitas audietur in ea, coram me semper infirmitas et plaga.(vulgate) Jer 6:7 Denn gleichwie ein Born sein Wasser quillt, also quillt auch ihre Bosheit. Ihr Frevel und Gewalt schreit über sie, und ihr Morden und Schlagen treiben sie täglich vor mir.(dhs) Jer 6:7 As a fountain wells up with water, So she wells up with her wickedness. Violence and plundering are heard in her. Before Me continually are grief and wounds.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:8 ============ Jer 6:8 "Be warned, O Jerusalem, Or I shall be alienated from you, And make you a desolation, A land not inhabited."(nasb) Jer 6:8 παιδευθήσῃ Ιερουσαλημ μὴ ἀποστῇ ἡ ψυχή μου ἀπὸ σοῦ μὴ ποιήσω σε ἄβατον γῆν ἥτις οὐ κατοικηθήσεται (lxx) Jer 6:8 Erudire, Jerusalem, ne forte recedat anima mea a te; ne forte ponam te desertam, terram inhabitabilem.(vulgate) Jer 6:8 Bessere dich Jerusalem, ehe sich mein Herz von dir wendet und ich dich zum wüsten Lande mache, darin niemand wohne!(dhs) Jer 6:8 Be instructed, O Jerusalem, Lest My soul depart from you; Lest I make you desolate, A land not inhabited."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:9 ============ Jer 6:9 Thus says the Lord of hosts, "They will thoroughly glean as the vine the remnant of Israel; Pass your hand again like a grape gatherer Over the branches."(nasb) Jer 6:9 ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος καλαμᾶσθε καλαμᾶσθε ὡς ἄμπελον τὰ κατάλοιπα τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐπιστρέψατε ὡς ὁ τρυγῶν ἐπὶ τὸν κάρταλλον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jer 6:9 Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum: Usque ad racemum colligent quasi in vinea reliquias Israël. Converte manum tuam quasi vindemiator ad cartallum.(vulgate) Jer 6:9 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Was übriggeblieben ist von Israel, das muß nachgelesen werden wie am Weinstock. Der Weinleser wird eins nach dem andern in die Butten werfen.(dhs) Jer 6:9 Thus says the Lord of hosts: "They shall thoroughly glean as a vine the remnant of Israel; As a grape-gatherer, put your hand back into the branches."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:10 ============ Jer 6:10 To whom shall I speak and give warning That they may hear? Behold, their ears are closed And they cannot listen. Behold, the word of the Lord has become a reproach to them; They have no delight in it.(nasb) Jer 6:10 πρὸς τίνα λαλήσω καὶ διαμαρτύρωμαι καὶ ἀκούσεται ἰδοὺ ἀπερίτμητα τὰ ὦτα αὐτῶν καὶ οὐ δύνανται ἀκούειν ἰδοὺ τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου ἐγένετο αὐτοῖς εἰς ὀνειδισμόν οὐ μὴ βουληθῶσιν αὐτὸ ἀκοῦσαι (lxx) Jer 6:10 Cui loquar, et quem contestabor ut audiat? ecce incircumcisæ aures eorum, et audire non possunt: ecce verbum Domini factum est eis in opprobrium, et non suscipient illud.(vulgate) Jer 6:10 Ach, mit wem soll ich doch reden und zeugen? Daß doch jemand hören wollte! Aber ihre Ohren sind unbeschnitten; sie können's nicht hören. Siehe, sie halten des HERRN Wort für einen Spott und wollen es nicht.(dhs) Jer 6:10 To whom shall I speak and give warning, That they may hear? Indeed their ear is uncircumcised, And they cannot give heed. Behold, the word of the Lord is a reproach to them; They have no delight in it.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:11 ============ Jer 6:11 But I am full of the wrath of the Lord; I am weary with holding it in. "Pour it out on the children in the street And on the gathering of young men together; For both husband and wife shall be taken, The aged and the very old.(nasb) Jer 6:11 καὶ τὸν θυμόν μου ἔπλησα καὶ ἐπέσχον καὶ οὐ συνετέλεσα αὐτούς ἐκχεῶ ἐπὶ νήπια ἔξωθεν καὶ ἐπὶ συναγωγὴν νεανίσκων ἅμα ὅτι ἀνὴρ καὶ γυνὴ συλλημφθήσονται πρεσβύτερος μετὰ πλήρους ἡμερῶν (lxx) Jer 6:11 Idcirco furore Domini plenus sum; laboravi sustinens. Effunde super parvulum foris, et super consilium juvenum simul: vir enim cum muliere capietur; senex cum pleno dierum.(vulgate) Jer 6:11 Darum bin ich von des HERRN Drohen so voll, daß ich's nicht lassen kann. Schütte es aus über die Kinder auf der Gasse und über die Mannschaft im Rat miteinander; denn es sollen beide, Mann und Weib, Alte und der Wohlbetagte, gefangen werden.(dhs) Jer 6:11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord. I am weary of holding it in. "I will pour it out on the children outside, And on the assembly of young men together; For even the husband shall be taken with the wife, The aged with him who is full of days.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:12 ============ Jer 6:12 "Their houses shall be turned over to others, Their fields and their wives together; For I will stretch out My hand Against the inhabitants of the land," declares the Lord.(nasb) Jer 6:12 καὶ μεταστραφήσονται αἱ οἰκίαι αὐτῶν εἰς ἑτέρους ἀγροὶ καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό ὅτι ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν ταύτην λέγει κύριος (lxx) Jer 6:12 Et transibunt domus eorum ad alteros, agri et uxores pariter, quia extendam manum meam super habitantes terram, dicit Dominus:(vulgate) Jer 6:12 Ihre Häuser sollen den Fremden zuteil werden samt den Äckern und Weibern; denn ich will meine Hand ausstrecken, spricht der HERR, über des Landes Einwohner.(dhs) Jer 6:12 And their houses shall be turned over to others, Fields and wives together; For I will stretch out My hand Against the inhabitants of the land," says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:13 ============ Jer 6:13 "For from the least of them even to the greatest of them, Everyone is greedy for gain, And from the prophet even to the priest Everyone deals falsely.(nasb) Jer 6:13 ὅτι ἀπὸ μικροῦ αὐτῶν καὶ ἕως μεγάλου πάντες συνετελέσαντο ἄνομα ἀπὸ ἱερέως καὶ ἕως ψευδοπροφήτου πάντες ἐποίησαν ψευδῆ (lxx) Jer 6:13 a minore quippe usque ad majorem omnes avaritiæ student, et a propheta usque ad sacerdotem cuncti faciunt dolum.(vulgate) Jer 6:13 Denn sie geizen allesamt, klein und groß; und beide, Propheten und Priester, gehen allesamt mit Lügen um(dhs) Jer 6:13 "Because from the least of them even to the greatest of them, Everyone is given to covetousness; And from the prophet even to the priest, Everyone deals falsely.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:14 ============ Jer 6:14 "They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, Saying, 'Peace, peace, 'But there is no peace.(nasb) Jer 6:14 καὶ ἰῶντο τὸ σύντριμμα τοῦ λαοῦ μου ἐξουθενοῦντες καὶ λέγοντες εἰρήνη εἰρήνη καὶ ποῦ ἐστιν εἰρήνη (lxx) Jer 6:14 Et curabant contritionem filiæ populi mei cum ignominia, dicentes: Pax, pax! et non erat pax.(vulgate) Jer 6:14 und trösten mein Volk in seinem Unglück, daß sie es gering achten sollen, und sagen: "Friede! Friede!", und ist doch nicht Friede.(dhs) Jer 6:14 They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, Saying, 'Peace, peace!' When there is no peace.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:15 ============ Jer 6:15 "Were they ashamed because of the abomination they have done? They were not even ashamed at all; They did not even know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time that I punish them, They shall be cast down," says the Lord.(nasb) Jer 6:15 κατῃσχύνθησαν ὅτι ἐξελίποσαν καὶ οὐδ᾽ ὧς καταισχυνόμενοι κατῃσχύνθησαν καὶ τὴν ἀτιμίαν αὐτῶν οὐκ ἔγνωσαν διὰ τοῦτο πεσοῦνται ἐν τῇ πτώσει αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν καιρῷ ἐπισκοπῆς αὐτῶν ἀπολοῦνται εἶπεν κύριος (lxx) Jer 6:15 Confusi sunt, quia abominationem fecerunt: quin potius confusione non sunt confusi, et erubescere nescierunt. Quam ob rem cadent inter ruentes: in tempore visitationis suæ corruent, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) Jer 6:15 Darum werden sie mit Schanden bestehen, daß sie solche Greuel treiben; wiewohl sie wollen ungeschändet sein und wollen sich nicht schämen. Darum müssen sie fallen auf einen Haufen; und wenn ich sie heimsuchen werde, sollen sie stürzen, spricht der HERR.(dhs) Jer 6:15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed; Nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time I punish them, They shall be cast down," says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:16 ============ Jer 6:16 Thus says the Lord, "Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.'(nasb) Jer 6:16 τάδε λέγει κύριος στῆτε ἐπὶ ταῖς ὁδοῖς καὶ ἴδετε καὶ ἐρωτήσατε τρίβους κυρίου αἰωνίους καὶ ἴδετε ποία ἐστὶν ἡ ὁδὸς ἡ ἀγαθή καὶ βαδίζετε ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ εὑρήσετε ἁγνισμὸν ταῖς ψυχαῖς ὑμῶν καὶ εἶπαν οὐ πορευσόμεθα (lxx) Jer 6:16 Hæc dicit Dominus: State super vias, et videte, et interrogate de semitis antiquis quæ sit via bona, et ambulate in ea: et invenietis refrigerium animabus vestris. Et dixerunt: Non ambulabimus.(vulgate) Jer 6:16 So spricht der HERR: Tretet auf die Wege und schauet und fraget nach den vorigen Wegen, welches der gute Weg sei, und wandelt darin, so werdet ihr Ruhe finden für eure Seele! Aber sie sprechen: Wir wollen's nicht tun!(dhs) Jer 6:16 Thus says the Lord: "Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.'(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:17 ============ Jer 6:17 "And I set watchmen over you, saying, 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet!'But they said, 'We will not listen.'(nasb) Jer 6:17 κατέστακα ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς σκοπούς ἀκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς τῆς σάλπιγγος καὶ εἶπαν οὐκ ἀκουσόμεθα (lxx) Jer 6:17 Et constitui super vos speculatores: Audite vocem tubæ. Et dixerunt: Non audiemus.(vulgate) Jer 6:17 Ich habe Wächter über dich gesetzt: Merket auf die Stimme der Drommete! Aber sie sprechen: Wir wollen's nicht tun!(dhs) Jer 6:17 Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet!' But they said, 'We will not listen.'(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:18 ============ Jer 6:18 "Therefore hear, O nations, And know, O congregation, what is among them.(nasb) Jer 6:18 διὰ τοῦτο ἤκουσαν τὰ ἔθνη καὶ οἱ ποιμαίνοντες τὰ ποίμνια αὐτῶν (lxx) Jer 6:18 Ideo audite, gentes, et cognosce, congregatio, quanta ego faciam eis.(vulgate) Jer 6:18 Darum so höret, ihr Heiden, und merket samt euren Leuten!(dhs) Jer 6:18 Therefore hear, you nations, And know, O congregation, what is among them.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:19 ============ Jer 6:19 "Hear, O earth: behold, I am bringing disaster on this people, The fruit of their plans, Because they have not listened to My words, And as for My law, they have rejected it also.(nasb) Jer 6:19 ἄκουε γῆ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον κακά τὸν καρπὸν ἀποστροφῆς αὐτῶν ὅτι τῶν λόγων μου οὐ προσέσχον καὶ τὸν νόμον μου ἀπώσαντο (lxx) Jer 6:19 Audi, terra: ecce ego adducam mala super populum istum, fructum cogitationum ejus: quia verba mea non audierunt, et legem meam projecerunt.(vulgate) Jer 6:19 Du, Erde, höre zu! Siehe, ich will ein Unglück über dies Volk bringen, darum daß sie auf meine Worte nicht achten und mein Gesetz verwerfen.(dhs) Jer 6:19 Hear, O earth! Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people-- The fruit of their thoughts, Because they have not heeded My words, Nor My law, but rejected it.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:20 ============ Jer 6:20 "For what purpose does frankincense come to Me from Sheba And the sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable And your sacrifices are not pleasing to Me."(nasb) Jer 6:20 ἵνα τί μοι λίβανον ἐκ Σαβα φέρετε καὶ κιννάμωμον ἐκ γῆς μακρόθεν τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα ὑμῶν οὔκ εἰσιν δεκτά καὶ αἱ θυσίαι ὑμῶν οὐχ ἥδυνάν μοι (lxx) Jer 6:20 Ut quid mihi thus de Saba affertis, et calamum suave olentem de terra longinqua? Holocautomata vestra non sunt accepta, et victimæ vestræ non placuerunt mihi.(vulgate) Jer 6:20 Was frage ich nach Weihrauch aus Reicharabien und nach den guten Zimtrinden, die aus fernen Landen kommen? Eure Brandopfer sind mir nicht angenehm, und eure Opfer gefallen mir nicht.(dhs) Jer 6:20 For what purpose to Me Comes frankincense from Sheba, And sweet cane from a far country? And they will stumble against them, Fathers and sons together; Neighbor and friend will perish."(nasb) Jer 6:21 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ δίδωμι ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον ἀσθένειαν καὶ ἀσθενήσουσιν ἐν αὐτῇ πατέρες καὶ υἱοὶ ἅμα γείτων καὶ ὁ πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἀπολοῦνται (lxx) Jer 6:21 Propterea hæc dicit Dominus: Ecce ego dabo in populum istum ruinas: et ruent in eis patres et filii simul; vicinus et proximus peribunt.(vulgate) Jer 6:21 Darum spricht der HERR also: Siehe, ich will diesem Volk einen Anstoß in den Weg stellen, daran sich die Väter und Kinder miteinander stoßen und ein Nachbar mit dem andern umkommen sollen.(dhs) Jer 6:21 Therefore thus says the Lord: "Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people, And the fathers and the sons together shall fall on them. The neighbor and his friend shall perish."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:22 ============ Jer 6:22 Thus says the Lord, "Behold, a people is coming from the north land, And a great nation will be aroused from the remote parts of the earth.(nasb) Jer 6:22 τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ λαὸς ἔρχεται ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ ἔθνη ἐξεγερθήσεται ἀπ᾽ ἐσχάτου τῆς γῆς (lxx) Jer 6:22 Hæc dicit Dominus: Ecce populus venit de terra aquilonis, et gens magna consurget a finibus terræ.(vulgate) Jer 6:22 So spricht der HERR: Siehe, es wird ein Volk kommen von Mitternacht, und ein großes Volk wird sich erregen vom Ende der Erde,(dhs) Jer 6:22 Thus says the Lord: "Behold, a people comes from the north country, And a great nation will be raised from the farthest parts of the earth.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 6:23 ============ Jer 6:23 "They seize bow and spear; They are cruel and have no mercy; Their voice roars like the sea, And they ride on horses, Arrayed as a man for the battle Against you, O daughter of Zion!"(nasb) Jer 6:23 τόξον καὶ ζιβύνην κρατήσουσιν ἰταμός ἐστιν καὶ οὐκ ἐλεήσει φωνὴ αὐτοῦ ὡς θάλασσα κυμαίνουσα ἐφ᾽ ἵπποις καὶ ἅρμασιν παρατάξεται ὡς πῦρ εἰς πόλεμον πρὸς σέ θύγατερ Σιων (lxx) Jer 6:23 Sagittam et scutum arripiet: crudelis est et non miserebitur. Vox ejus quasi mare sonabit: et super equos ascendent, præparati quasi vir ad prælium adversum te, filia Sion.(vulgate) Jer 6:23 die Bogen und Lanze führen.
