And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:3 ============ Luk 4:3 And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread."(nasb) Luk 4:3 εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῶ ὁ διάβολος, εἰ υἱὸς εἶ τοῦ θεοῦ, εἰπὲ τῶ λίθῳ τούτῳ ἵνα γένηται ἄρτος.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:3 Dixit autem illi diabolus: Si Filius Dei es, dic lapidi huic ut panis fiat.(vulgate) Luk 4:3 Der Teufel aber sprach zu ihm: Bist du Gottes Sohn, so sprich zu dem Stein, daß er Brot werde.(dhs) Luk 4:3 And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:4 ============ Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE.'"(nasb) Luk 4:4 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ ἰησοῦς, γέγραπται ὅτι οὐκ ἐπ᾽ ἄρτῳ μόνῳ ζήσεται ὁ ἄνθρωπος.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:4 Et respondit ad illum Jesus: Scriptum est: Quia non in solo pane vivit homo, sed in omni verbo Dei.(vulgate) Luk 4:4 Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Es steht geschrieben: "Der Mensch lebt nicht allein vom Brot, sondern von einem jeglichen Wort Gottes."(dhs) Luk 4:4 But Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.' "(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:5 ============ Luk 4:5 And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.(nasb) Luk 4:5 καὶ ἀναγαγὼν αὐτὸν ἔδειξεν αὐτῶ πάσας τὰς βασιλείας τῆς οἰκουμένης ἐν στιγμῇ χρόνου·(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:5 Et duxit illum diabolus in montem excelsum, et ostendit illi omnia regna orbis terræ in momento temporis,(vulgate) Luk 4:5 Und der Teufel führte ihn auf einen hohen Berg und zeigte ihm alle Reiche der ganzen Welt in einem Augenblick(dhs) Luk 4:5 Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:6 ============ Luk 4:6 And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.(nasb) Luk 4:6 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῶ ὁ διάβολος, σοὶ δώσω τὴν ἐξουσίαν ταύτην ἅπασαν καὶ τὴν δόξαν αὐτῶν, ὅτι ἐμοὶ παραδέδοται καὶ ᾧ ἐὰν θέλω δίδωμι αὐτήν·(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:6 et ait illi: Tibi dabo potestatem hanc universam, et gloriam illorum: quia mihi tradita sunt, et cui volo do illa.(vulgate) Luk 4:6 und sprach zu ihm: Alle diese Macht will ich dir geben und ihre Herrlichkeit; denn sie ist mir übergeben, und ich gebe sie, welchem ich will.(dhs) Luk 4:6 And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:7 ============ Luk 4:7 Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours."(nasb) Luk 4:7 σὺ οὗν ἐὰν προσκυνήσῃς ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ, ἔσται σοῦ πᾶσα.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:7 Tu ergo si adoraveris coram me, erunt tua omnia.(vulgate) Luk 4:7 So du nun mich willst anbeten, so soll es alles dein sein.(dhs) Luk 4:7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours."(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:8 ============ Luk 4:8 Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'"(nasb) Luk 4:8 καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῶ, γέγραπται, κύριον τὸν θεόν σου προσκυνήσεις καὶ αὐτῶ μόνῳ λατρεύσεις.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:8 Et respondens Jesus, dixit illi: Scriptum est: Dominum Deum tuum adorabis, et illi soli servies.(vulgate) Luk 4:8 Jesus antwortete ihm und sprach: Es steht geschrieben: "Du sollst Gott, deinen HERRN, anbeten und ihm allein dienen."(dhs) Luk 4:8 And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.' "(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:12 ============ Luk 4:12 And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is said, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'"(nasb) Luk 4:12 καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτῶ ὁ ἰησοῦς ὅτι εἴρηται, οὐκ ἐκπειράσεις κύριον τὸν θεόν σου.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:12 Et respondens Jesus, ait illi: Dictum est: Non tentabis Dominum Deum tuum.(vulgate) Luk 4:12 Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Es ist gesagt: "Du sollst Gott, deinen HERRN, nicht versuchen."(dhs) Luk 4:12 And Jesus answered and said to him, "It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.' "(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:13 ============ Luk 4:13 When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.(nasb) Luk 4:13 καὶ συντελέσας πάντα πειρασμὸν ὁ διάβολος ἀπέστη ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἄχρι καιροῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:13 Et consummata omni tentatione, diabolus recessit ab illo, usque ad tempus.~(vulgate) Luk 4:13 Und da der Teufel alle Versuchung vollendet hatte, wich er von ihm eine Zeitlang.(dhs) Luk 4:13 Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:14 ============ Luk 4:14 And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.(nasb) Luk 4:14 καὶ ὑπέστρεψεν ὁ ἰησοῦς ἐν τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ πνεύματος εἰς τὴν γαλιλαίαν. καὶ φήμη ἐξῆλθεν καθ᾽ ὅλης τῆς περιχώρου περὶ αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:14 Et regressus est Jesus in virtute Spiritus in Galilæam, et fama exiit per universam regionem de illo.(vulgate) Luk 4:14 Und Jesus kam wieder in des Geistes Kraft nach Galiläa; und das Gerücht erscholl von ihm durch alle umliegenden Orte.(dhs) Luk 4:14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:15 ============ Luk 4:15 And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.(nasb) Luk 4:15 καὶ αὐτὸς ἐδίδασκεν ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν, δοξαζόμενος ὑπὸ πάντων.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:15 Et ipse docebat in synagogis eorum, et magnificabatur ab omnibus.(vulgate) Luk 4:15 Und er lehrte in ihren Schulen und ward von jedermann gepriesen.(dhs) Luk 4:15 And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:16 ============ Luk 4:16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.(nasb) Luk 4:16 καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς ναζαρά, οὖ ἦν τεθραμμένος, καὶ εἰσῆλθεν κατὰ τὸ εἰωθὸς αὐτῶ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων εἰς τὴν συναγωγήν, καὶ ἀνέστη ἀναγνῶναι.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:16 Et venit Nazareth, ubi erat nutritus, et intravit secundum consuetudinem suam die sabbati in synagogam, et surrexit legere.(vulgate) Luk 4:16 Und er kam gen Nazareth, da er erzogen war, und ging in die Schule nach seiner Gewohnheit am Sabbattage und stand auf und wollte lesen.(dhs) Luk 4:16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:17 ============ Luk 4:17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,(nasb) Luk 4:17 καὶ ἐπεδόθη αὐτῶ βιβλίον τοῦ προφήτου ἠσαΐου, καὶ ἀναπτύξας τὸ βιβλίον εὖρεν τὸν τόπον οὖ ἦν γεγραμμένον,(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:17 Et traditus est illi liber Isaiæ prophetæ. Et ut revolvit librum, invenit locum ubi scriptum erat:(vulgate) Luk 4:17 Da ward ihm das Buch des Propheten Jesaja gereicht. Und da er das Buch auftat, fand er den Ort, da geschrieben steht:(dhs) Luk 4:17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:18 ============ Luk 4:18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:21 ============ Luk 4:21 And He began to say to them," Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."(nasb) Luk 4:21 ἤρξατο δὲ λέγειν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ὅτι σήμερον πεπλήρωται ἡ γραφὴ αὕτη ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν ὑμῶν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:21 Cœpit autem dicere ad illos: Quia hodie impleta est hæc scriptura in auribus vestris.(vulgate) Luk 4:21 Und er fing an, zu sagen zu ihnen: Heute ist diese Schrift erfüllt vor euren Ohren.(dhs) Luk 4:21 And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:22 ============ Luk 4:22 And all were speaking well of Him, and wondering at the gracious words which were falling from His lips; and they were saying, "Is this not Joseph's son?"(nasb) Luk 4:22 καὶ πάντες ἐμαρτύρουν αὐτῶ καὶ ἐθαύμαζον ἐπὶ τοῖς λόγοις τῆς χάριτος τοῖς ἐκπορευομένοις ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔλεγον, οὐχὶ υἱός ἐστιν ἰωσὴφ οὖτος;(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:22 Et omnes testimonium illi dabant: et mirabantur in verbis gratiæ, quæ procedebant de ore ipsius, et dicebant: Nonne hic est filius Joseph?(vulgate) Luk 4:22 Und sie gaben alle Zeugnis von ihm und wunderten sich der holdseligen Worte, die aus seinem Munde gingen, und sprachen: "Ist das nicht Josephs Sohn?"(dhs) Luk 4:22 So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, "Is this not Joseph's son?"(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:23 ============ Luk 4:23 And He said to them, "No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me, 'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we heard was done at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.'"(nasb) Luk 4:23 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς, πάντως ἐρεῖτέ μοι τὴν παραβολὴν ταύτην· ἰατρέ, θεράπευσον σεαυτόν· ὅσα ἠκούσαμεν γενόμενα εἰς τὴν καφαρναοὺμ ποίησον καὶ ὧδε ἐν τῇ πατρίδι σου.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:23 Et ait illis: Utique dicetis mihi hanc similitudinem: Medice cura teipsum: quanta audivimus facta in Capharnaum, fac et hic in patria tua.(vulgate) Luk 4:23 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr werdet freilich zu mir sagen dies Sprichwort: Arzt, hilf dir selber! Denn wie große Dinge haben wir gehört, zu Kapernaum geschehen! Tue also auch hier, in deiner Vaterstadt.(dhs) Luk 4:23 He said to them, "You will surely say this proverb to Me, 'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in Your country.' "(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:24 ============ Luk 4:24 And He said, "Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown.(nasb) Luk 4:24 εἶπεν δέ, ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐδεὶς προφήτης δεκτός ἐστιν ἐν τῇ πατρίδι αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:24 Ait autem: Amen dico vobis, quia nemo propheta acceptus est in patria sua.(vulgate) Luk 4:24 Er sprach aber: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: "Kein Prophet ist angenehm in seinem Vaterlande.(dhs) Luk 4:24 Then He said, "Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:25 ============ Luk 4:25 But I say to you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land;(nasb) Luk 4:25 ἐπ᾽ ἀληθείας δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν, πολλαὶ χῆραι ἦσαν ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἠλίου ἐν τῶ ἰσραήλ, ὅτε ἐκλείσθη ὁ οὐρανὸς ἐπὶ ἔτη τρία καὶ μῆνας ἕξ, ὡς ἐγένετο λιμὸς μέγας ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν,(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:25 In veritate dico vobis, multæ viduæ erant in diebus Eliæ in Israël, quando clausum est cælum annis tribus et mensibus sex, cum facta esset fames magna in omni terra:(vulgate) Luk 4:25 Aber in der Wahrheit sage ich euch: Es waren viele Witwen in Israel zu Elia's Zeiten, da der Himmel verschlossen war drei Jahre und sechs Monate, da eine große Teuerung war im ganzen Lande(dhs) Luk 4:25 But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land;(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:26 ============ Luk 4:26 and yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.(nasb) Luk 4:26 καὶ πρὸς οὐδεμίαν αὐτῶν ἐπέμφθη ἠλίας εἰ μὴ εἰς σάρεπτα τῆς σιδωνίας πρὸς γυναῖκα χήραν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 4:26 et ad nullam illarum missus est Elias, nisi in Sarepta Sidoniæ, ad mulierem viduam.(vulgate) Luk 4:26 und zu deren keiner ward Elia gesandt denn allein gen Sarepta der Sidonier zu einer Witwe.(dhs) Luk 4:26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.(nkjv) ======= Luke 4:27 ============ Luk 4:27 And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet;
