Today's Date: ======= Luke 5:1 ============ Luk 5:1 Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;(nasb) Luk 5:1 ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῶ τὸν ὄχλον ἐπικεῖσθαι αὐτῶ καὶ ἀκούειν τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν ἑστὼς παρὰ τὴν λίμνην γεννησαρέτ,(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:1 Factum est autem, cum turbæ irruerunt in eum ut audirent verbum Dei, et ipse stabat secus stagnum Genesareth.(vulgate) Luk 5:1 Es begab sich aber, da sich das Volk zu ihm drängte, zu hören das Wort Gottes, daß er stand am See Genezareth(dhs) Luk 5:1 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret,(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:2 ============ Luk 5:2 and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake; but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.(nasb) Luk 5:2 καὶ εἶδεν δύο πλοῖα ἑστῶτα παρὰ τὴν λίμνην· οἱ δὲ ἁλιεῖς ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν ἀποβάντες ἔπλυνον τὰ δίκτυα.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:2 Et vidit duas naves stantes secus stagnum: piscatores autem descenderant, et lavabant retia.(vulgate) Luk 5:2 und sah zwei Schiffe am See stehen, die Fischer aber waren ausgetreten und wuschen ihre Netze.(dhs) Luk 5:2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:3 ============ Luk 5:3 And He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little way from the land. And He sat down and began teaching the people from the boat.(nasb) Luk 5:3 ἐμβὰς δὲ εἰς ἓν τῶν πλοίων, ὃ ἦν σίμωνος, ἠρώτησεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἐπαναγαγεῖν ὀλίγον, καθίσας δὲ ἐκ τοῦ πλοίου ἐδίδασκεν τοὺς ὄχλους.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:3 Ascendens autem in unam navim, quæ erat Simonis, rogavit eum a terra reducere pusillum. Et sedens docebat de navicula turbas.~(vulgate) Luk 5:3 Da trat er in der Schiffe eines, welches Simons war, und bat ihn, daß er's ein wenig vom Lande führte. Und er setzte sich und lehrte das Volk aus dem Schiff.(dhs) Luk 5:3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:4 ============ Luk 5:4 When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch."(nasb) Luk 5:4 ὡς δὲ ἐπαύσατο λαλῶν, εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν σίμωνα, ἐπανάγαγε εἰς τὸ βάθος καὶ χαλάσατε τὰ δίκτυα ὑμῶν εἰς ἄγραν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:4 Ut cessavit autem loqui, dixit ad Simonem: Duc in altum, et laxate retia vestra in capturam.(vulgate) Luk 5:4 Und als er hatte aufgehört zu reden, sprach er zu Simon: Fahre auf die Höhe und werfet eure Netze aus, daß ihr einen Zug tut.(dhs) Luk 5:4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch."(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:5 ============ Luk 5:5 Simon answered and said, "Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets."(nasb) Luk 5:5 καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς σίμων εἶπεν, ἐπιστάτα, δι᾽ ὅλης νυκτὸς κοπιάσαντες οὐδὲν ἐλάβομεν, ἐπὶ δὲ τῶ ῥήματί σου χαλάσω τὰ δίκτυα.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:5 Et respondens Simon, dixit illi: Præceptor, per totam noctem laborantes nihil cepimus: in verbo autem tuo laxabo rete.(vulgate) Luk 5:5 Und Simon antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Meister, wir haben die ganze Nacht gearbeitet und nichts gefangen, aber auf dein Wort will ich das Netz auswerfen.(dhs) Luk 5:5 But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net."(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:6 ============ Luk 5:6 When they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break;(nasb) Luk 5:6 καὶ τοῦτο ποιήσαντες συνέκλεισαν πλῆθος ἰχθύων πολύ, διερρήσσετο δὲ τὰ δίκτυα αὐτῶν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:6 Et cum hoc fecissent, concluserunt piscium multitudinem copiosam: rumpebatur autem rete eorum.(vulgate) Luk 5:6 Und da sie das taten, beschlossen sie eine große Menge Fische, und ihr Netz zerriß.(dhs) Luk 5:6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:7 ============ Luk 5:7 so they signaled to their partners in the other boat for them to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats, so that they began to sink.(nasb) Luk 5:7 καὶ κατένευσαν τοῖς μετόχοις ἐν τῶ ἑτέρῳ πλοίῳ τοῦ ἐλθόντας συλλαβέσθαι αὐτοῖς· καὶ ἦλθον, καὶ ἔπλησαν ἀμφότερα τὰ πλοῖα ὥστε βυθίζεσθαι αὐτά.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:7 Et annuerunt sociis, qui erant in alia navi, ut venirent, et adjuvarent eos. Et venerunt, et impleverunt ambas naviculas, ita ut pene mergerentur.(vulgate) Luk 5:7 Und sie winkten ihren Gesellen, die im andern Schiff waren, daß sie kämen und hülfen ihnen ziehen. Und sie kamen und füllten beide Schiffe voll, also daß sie sanken.(dhs) Luk 5:7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:8 ============ Luk 5:8 But when Simon Peter saw that, he fell down at Jesus' feet, saying, "Go away from me Lord, for I am a sinful man!"(nasb) Luk 5:8 ἰδὼν δὲ σίμων πέτρος προσέπεσεν τοῖς γόνασιν ἰησοῦ λέγων, ἔξελθε ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ, ὅτι ἀνὴρ ἁμαρτωλός εἰμι, κύριε·(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:8 Quod cum vidisset Simon Petrus, procidit ad genua Jesu, dicens: Exi a me, quia homo peccator sum, Domine.(vulgate) Luk 5:8 Da das Simon Petrus sah, fiel er Jesu zu den Knieen und sprach: HERR, gehe von mir hinaus! ich bin ein sündiger Mensch.(dhs) Luk 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!"(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:9 ============ Luk 5:9 For amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken;(nasb) Luk 5:9 θάμβος γὰρ περιέσχεν αὐτὸν καὶ πάντας τοὺς σὺν αὐτῶ ἐπὶ τῇ ἄγρᾳ τῶν ἰχθύων ὧν συνέλαβον,(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:9 Stupor enim circumdederat eum, et omnes qui cum illo erant, in captura piscium, quam ceperant:(vulgate) Luk 5:9 Denn es war ihn ein Schrecken angekommen, ihn und alle, die mit ihm waren, über diesen Fischzug, den sie miteinander getan hatten;(dhs) Luk 5:9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken;(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:10 ============ Luk 5:10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not fear, from now on you will be catching men."(nasb) Luk 5:10 ὁμοίως δὲ καὶ ἰάκωβον καὶ ἰωάννην υἱοὺς ζεβεδαίου, οἳ ἦσαν κοινωνοὶ τῶ σίμωνι. καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν σίμωνα ὁ ἰησοῦς, μὴ φοβοῦ· ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἀνθρώπους ἔσῃ ζωγρῶν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:10 similiter autem Jacobum et Joannem, filios Zebedæi, qui erant socii Simonis. Et ait ad Simonem Jesus: Noli timere: ex hoc jam homines eris capiens.(vulgate) Luk 5:10 desgleichen auch Jakobus und Johannes, die Söhne des Zebedäus, Simons Gesellen. Und Jesus sprach zu Simon: Fürchte dich nicht; denn von nun an wirst du Menschen fangen.(dhs) Luk 5:10 and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men."(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:11 ============ Luk 5:11 When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him.(nasb) Luk 5:11 καὶ καταγαγόντες τὰ πλοῖα ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἀφέντες πάντα ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῶ.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:11 Et subductis ad terram navibus, relictis omnibus, secuti sunt eum.~(vulgate) Luk 5:11 Und sie führten die Schiffe zu Lande und verließen alles und folgten ihm nach.(dhs) Luk 5:11 So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:12 ============ Luk 5:12 While He was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man covered with leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."(nasb) Luk 5:12 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῶ εἶναι αὐτὸν ἐν μιᾷ τῶν πόλεων καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ πλήρης λέπρας· ἰδὼν δὲ τὸν ἰησοῦν πεσὼν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐδεήθη αὐτοῦ λέγων, κύριε, ἐὰν θέλῃς δύνασαί με καθαρίσαι.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:12 Et factum est, cum esset in una civitatum, et ecce vir plenus lepra, et videns Jesum, et procidens in faciem, rogavit eum, dicens: Domine, si vis, potes me mundare.(vulgate) Luk 5:12 Und es begab sich, da er in einer Stadt war, siehe, da war ein Mann voll Aussatz. Da der Jesum sah, fiel er auf sein Angesicht und bat ihn und sprach: HERR, willst du, so kannst du mich reinigen.(dhs) Luk 5:12 And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:13 ============ Luk 5:13 And He stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." And immediately the leprosy left him.(nasb) Luk 5:13 καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἥψατο αὐτοῦ λέγων, θέλω, καθαρίσθητι· καὶ εὐθέως ἡ λέπρα ἀπῆλθεν ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:13 Et extendens manum, tetigit eum dicens: Volo: mundare. Et confestim lepra discessit ab illo.(vulgate) Luk 5:13 Und er streckte die Hand aus und rührte ihn an und sprach: Ich will's tun; sei gereinigt! Und alsobald ging der Aussatz von ihm.(dhs) Luk 5:13 Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." Immediately the leprosy left him.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:14 ============ Luk 5:14 And He ordered him to tell no one, "But go and show yourself to the priest and make an offering for your cleansing, just as Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."(nasb) Luk 5:14 καὶ αὐτὸς παρήγγειλεν αὐτῶ μηδενὶ εἰπεῖν, ἀλλὰ ἀπελθὼν δεῖξον σεαυτὸν τῶ ἱερεῖ, καὶ προσένεγκε περὶ τοῦ καθαρισμοῦ σου καθὼς προσέταξεν μωϊσῆς, εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:14 Et ipse præcepit illi ut nemini diceret: sed, Vade, ostende te sacerdoti, et offer pro emundatione tua, sicut præcepit Moyses, in testimonium illis.(vulgate) Luk 5:14 Und er gebot ihm, daß er's niemand sagen sollte; sondern "gehe hin und zeige dich dem Priester und opfere für deine Reinigung, wie Mose geboten, ihnen zum Zeugnis".(dhs) Luk 5:14 And He charged him to tell no one, "But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as a testimony to them, just as Moses commanded."(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:15 ============ Luk 5:15 But the news about Him was spreading even farther, and large crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses.(nasb) Luk 5:15 διήρχετο δὲ μᾶλλον ὁ λόγος περὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ συνήρχοντο ὄχλοι πολλοὶ ἀκούειν καὶ θεραπεύεσθαι ἀπὸ τῶν ἀσθενειῶν αὐτῶν·(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:15 Perambulabat autem magis sermo de illo: et conveniebant turbæ multæ ut audirent, et curarentur ab infirmitatibus suis.(vulgate) Luk 5:15 Es kam aber die Sage von ihm immer weiter aus, und kam viel Volks zusammen, daß sie ihn hörten und durch ihn gesund würden von ihren Krankheiten.(dhs) Luk 5:15 However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:16 ============ Luk 5:16 But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.(nasb) Luk 5:16 αὐτὸς δὲ ἦν ὑποχωρῶν ἐν ταῖς ἐρήμοις καὶ προσευχόμενος.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:16 Ipse autem secedebat in desertum, et orabat.~(vulgate) Luk 5:16 Er aber entwich in die Wüste und betete.(dhs) Luk 5:16 So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:17 ============ Luk 5:17 One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.(nasb) Luk 5:17 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν μιᾷ τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν διδάσκων, καὶ ἦσαν καθήμενοι φαρισαῖοι καὶ νομοδιδάσκαλοι οἳ ἦσαν ἐληλυθότες ἐκ πάσης κώμης τῆς γαλιλαίας καὶ ἰουδαίας καὶ ἰερουσαλήμ· καὶ δύναμις κυρίου ἦν εἰς τὸ ἰᾶσθαι αὐτόν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:17 Et factum est in una dierum, et ipse sedebat docens. Et erant pharisæi sedentes, et legis doctores, qui venerant ex omni castello Galilææ, et Judææ, et Jerusalem: et virtus Domini erat ad sanandum eos.(vulgate) Luk 5:17 Und es begab sich auf einen Tag, daß er lehrte; und es saßen da die Pharisäer und Schriftgelehrten, die da gekommen waren aus allen Märkten in Galiläa und Judäa und von Jerusalem. Und die Kraft des HERRN ging von ihm, und er half jedermann.(dhs) Luk 5:17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:18 ============ Luk 5:18 And some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him.(nasb) Luk 5:18 καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνδρες φέροντες ἐπὶ κλίνης ἄνθρωπον ὃς ἦν παραλελυμένος, καὶ ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν εἰσενεγκεῖν καὶ θεῖναι [αὐτὸν] ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:18 Et ecce viri portantes in lecto hominem, qui erat paralyticus: et quærebant eum inferre, et ponere ante eum.(vulgate) Luk 5:18 Und, siehe, etliche Männer brachten einen Menschen auf seinem Bette, der war gichtbrüchig; und sie suchten, wie sie ihn hineinbrächten und vor ihn legten.(dhs) Luk 5:18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:19 ============ Luk 5:19 But not finding any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his stretcher, into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus.(nasb) Luk 5:19 καὶ μὴ εὑρόντες ποίας εἰσενέγκωσιν αὐτὸν διὰ τὸν ὄχλον ἀναβάντες ἐπὶ τὸ δῶμα διὰ τῶν κεράμων καθῆκαν αὐτὸν σὺν τῶ κλινιδίῳ εἰς τὸ μέσον ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ ἰησοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:19 Et non invenientes qua parte illum inferrent præ turba, ascenderunt supra tectum, et per tegulas summiserunt eum cum lecto in medium ante Jesum.(vulgate) Luk 5:19 Und da sie vor dem Volk nicht fanden, an welchen Ort sie ihn hineinbrächten, stiegen sie auf das Dach und ließen ihn durch die Ziegel hernieder mit dem Bettlein mitten unter sie, vor Jesum.(dhs) Luk 5:19 And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:20 ============ Luk 5:20 Seeing their faith, He said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven you."(nasb) Luk 5:20 καὶ ἰδὼν τὴν πίστιν αὐτῶν εἶπεν, ἄνθρωπε, ἀφέωνταί σοι αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:20 Quorum fidem ut vidit, dixit: Homo, remittuntur tibi peccata tua.(vulgate) Luk 5:20 Und da er ihren Glauben sah, sprach er zu ihm: Mensch, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben.(dhs) Luk 5:20 When He saw their faith, He said to him, "Man, your sins are forgiven you."(nkjv) ======= Luke 5:21 ============ Luk 5:21 The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?"(nasb) Luk 5:21 καὶ ἤρξαντο διαλογίζεσθαι οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ φαρισαῖοι λέγοντες, τίς ἐστιν οὖτος ὃς λαλεῖ βλασφημίας; τίς δύναται ἁμαρτίας ἀφεῖναι εἰ μὴ μόνος ὁ θεός;(Nestle-Aland) Luk 5:21 Et cœperunt cogitare scribæ et pharisæi, dicentes: Quis est hic, qui loquitur blasphemias? quis potest dimittere peccata, nisi solus Deus?(vulgate) Luk 5:21 Und die Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer fingen an, zu denken und sprachen: Wer ist der, daß er Gotteslästerungen redet? Wer kann Sünden vergeben denn allein Gott?(dhs) Luk 5:21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies?
