Today's Date: ======= Hebrews 8:1 ============ Heb 8:1 Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,(nasb) Heb 8:1 κεφάλαιον δὲ ἐπὶ τοῖς λεγομένοις, τοιοῦτον ἔχομεν ἀρχιερέα, ὃς ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τοῦ θρόνου τῆς μεγαλωσύνης ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς,(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:1 Capitulum autem super ea quæ dicuntur: Talem habemus pontificem, qui consedit in dextera sedis magnitudinis in cælis,(vulgate) Heb 8:1 Das ist nun die Hauptsache, davon wir reden: Wir haben einen solchen Hohenpriester, der da sitzt zu der Rechten auf dem Stuhl der Majestät im Himmel(dhs) Heb 8:1 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:2 ============ Heb 8:2 a minister in the sanctuary and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.(nasb) Heb 8:2 τῶν ἁγίων λειτουργὸς καὶ τῆς σκηνῆς τῆς ἀληθινῆς, ἣν ἔπηξεν ὁ κύριος, οὐκ ἄνθρωπος.(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:2 sanctorum minister, et tabernaculi veri, quod fixit Dominus, et non homo.(vulgate) Heb 8:2 und ist ein Pfleger des Heiligen und der wahrhaften Hütte, welche Gott aufgerichtet hat und kein Mensch.(dhs) Heb 8:2 a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:3 ============ Heb 8:3 For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices; so it is necessary that this high priest also have something to offer.(nasb) Heb 8:3 πᾶς γὰρ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰς τὸ προσφέρειν δῶρά τε καὶ θυσίας καθίσταται· ὅθεν ἀναγκαῖον ἔχειν τι καὶ τοῦτον ὃ προσενέγκῃ.(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:3 Omnis enim pontifex ad offerendum munera, et hostias constituitur: unde necesse est et hunc habere aliquid, quod offerat.(vulgate) Heb 8:3 Denn ein jeglicher Hoherpriester wird eingesetzt, zu opfern Gaben und Opfer. Darum muß auch dieser etwas haben, das er opfere.(dhs) Heb 8:3 For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer.(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:4 ============ Heb 8:4 Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest at all, since there are those who offer the gifts according to the Law;(nasb) Heb 8:4 εἰ μὲν οὗν ἦν ἐπὶ γῆς, οὐδ᾽ ἂν ἦν ἱερεύς, ὄντων τῶν προσφερόντων κατὰ νόμον τὰ δῶρα·(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:4 Si ergo esset super terram, nec esset sacerdos: cum essent qui offerent secundum legem munera,(vulgate) Heb 8:4 Wenn er nun auf Erden wäre, so wäre er nicht Priester, dieweil da Priester sind, die nach dem Gesetz die Gaben opfern,(dhs) Heb 8:4 For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:5 ============ Heb 8:5 who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle; for, "SEE," He says,"THAT YOU MAKE all things ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN WHICH WAS SHOWN YOU ON THE MOUNTAIN."(nasb) Heb 8:5 οἵτινες ὑποδείγματι καὶ σκιᾷ λατρεύουσιν τῶν ἐπουρανίων, καθὼς κεχρημάτισται μωϊσῆς μέλλων ἐπιτελεῖν τὴν σκηνήν, ὅρα γάρ, φησίν, ποιήσεις πάντα κατὰ τὸν τύπον τὸν δειχθέντα σοι ἐν τῶ ὄρει·(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:5 qui exemplari, et umbræ deserviunt cælestium. Sicut responsum est Moysi, cum consummaret tabernaculum: Vide (inquit) omnia facito secundum exemplar, quod tibi ostensum est in monte.(vulgate) Heb 8:5 welche dienen dem Vorbilde und dem Schatten des Himmlischen; wie die göttliche Antwort zu Mose sprach, da er sollte die Hütte vollenden: "Schaue zu," sprach er, "daß du machest alles nach dem Bilde, das dir auf dem Berge gezeigt ist."(dhs) Heb 8:5 who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, "See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:6 ============ Heb 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.(nasb) Heb 8:6 νυν[ὶ] δὲ διαφορωτέρας τέτυχεν λειτουργίας, ὅσῳ καὶ κρείττονός ἐστιν διαθήκης μεσίτης, ἥτις ἐπὶ κρείττοσιν ἐπαγγελίαις νενομοθέτηται.(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:6 Nunc autem melius sortitus est ministerium, quanto et melioris testamenti mediator est, quod in melioribus repromissionibus sancitum est.(vulgate) Heb 8:6 Nun aber hat er ein besseres Amt erlangt, als der eines besseren Testaments Mittler ist, welches auch auf besseren Verheißungen steht.(dhs) Heb 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:7 ============ Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion sought for a second.(nasb) Heb 8:7 εἰ γὰρ ἡ πρώτη ἐκείνη ἦν ἄμεμπτος, οὐκ ἂν δευτέρας ἐζητεῖτο τόπος·(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:7 Nam si illud prius culpa vacasset, non utique secundi locus inquireretur.(vulgate) Heb 8:7 Denn so jenes, das erste, untadelig gewesen wäre, würde nicht Raum zu einem andern gesucht.(dhs) Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:8 ============ Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, He says, "BEHOLD, DAYS ARE COMING, SAYS THE LORD, WHEN I WILL EFFECT A NEW COVENANT WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AND WITH THE HOUSE OF JUDAH;(nasb) Heb 8:8 μεμφόμενος γὰρ αὐτοὺς λέγει, ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται, λέγει κύριος, καὶ συντελέσω ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον ἰσραὴλ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον ἰούδα διαθήκην καινήν,(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:8 Vituperans enim eos dicit: Ecce dies venient, dicit Dominus: et consummabo super domum Israël, et super domum Juda, testamentum novum,(vulgate) Heb 8:8 Denn er tadelt sie und sagt: "Siehe, es kommen die Tage, spricht der HERR, daß ich über das Haus Israel und über das Haus Juda ein neues Testament machen will;(dhs) Heb 8:8 Because finding fault with them, He says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah--(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:9 ============ Heb 8:9 NOT LIKE THE COVENANT WHICH I MADE WITH THEIR FATHERS ON THE DAY WHEN I TOOK THEM BY THE HAND TO LEAD THEM OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT; FOR THEY DID NOT CONTINUE IN MY COVENANT, AND I DID NOT CARE FOR THEM, SAYS THE LORD.(nasb) Heb 8:9 οὐ κατὰ τὴν διαθήκην ἣν ἐποίησα τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ἐπιλαβομένου μου τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν ἐξαγαγεῖν αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς αἰγύπτου, ὅτι αὐτοὶ οὐκ ἐνέμειναν ἐν τῇ διαθήκῃ μου, κἀγὼ ἠμέλησα αὐτῶν, λέγει κύριος.(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:9 non secundum testamentum quod feci patribus eorum in die qua apprehendi manum eorum ut educerem illos de terra Ægypti: quoniam ipsi non permanserunt in testamento meo: et ego neglexi eos, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) Heb 8:9 nicht nach dem Testament, das ich gemacht habe mit ihren Vätern an dem Tage, da ich ihre Hand ergriff, sie auszuführen aus Ägyptenland. Denn sie sind nicht geblieben in meinem Testament, so habe ich ihrer auch nicht wollen achten, spricht der HERR.(dhs) Heb 8:9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:10 ============ Heb 8:10 "FOR THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS. AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.(nasb) Heb 8:10 ὅτι αὕτη ἡ διαθήκη ἣν διαθήσομαι τῶ οἴκῳ ἰσραὴλ μετὰ τὰς ἡμέρας ἐκείνας, λέγει κύριος, διδοὺς νόμους μου εἰς τὴν διάνοιαν αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐπὶ καρδίας αὐτῶν ἐπιγράψω αὐτούς, καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς εἰς θεὸν καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔσονταί μοι εἰς λαόν.(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:10 Quia hoc est testamentum quod disponam domui Israël post dies illos, dicit Dominus: dando leges meas in mentem eorum, et in corde eorum superscribam eas: et ero eis in Deum, et ipsi erunt mihi in populum:(vulgate) Heb 8:10 Denn das ist das Testament, das ich machen will dem Hause Israel nach diesen Tagen, spricht der HERR: Ich will geben mein Gesetz in ihren Sinn, und in ihr Herz will ich es schreiben, und will ihr Gott sein, und sie sollen mein Volk sein.(dhs) Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:11 ============ Heb 8:11 "AND THEY SHALL NOT TEACH EVERYONE HIS FELLOW CITIZEN, AND EVERYONE HIS BROTHER, SAYING, 'KNOW THE LORD,' FOR ALL WILL KNOW ME, FROM THE LEAST TO THE GREATEST OF THEM.(nasb) Heb 8:11 καὶ οὐ μὴ διδάξωσιν ἕκαστος τὸν πολίτην αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστος τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ, λέγων, γνῶθι τὸν κύριον, ὅτι πάντες εἰδήσουσίν με ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου αὐτῶν.(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:11 et non docebit unusquisque proximum suum, et unusquisque fratrem suum, dicens: Cognosce Dominum: quoniam omnes scient me a minore usque ad majorem eorum:(vulgate) Heb 8:11 Und soll nicht lehren jemand seinen Nächsten noch jemand seinen Bruder und sagen: Erkenne den HERRN! denn sie sollen mich alle kennen von dem Kleinsten an bis zu dem Größten.(dhs) Heb 8:11 None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:12 ============ Heb 8:12 "FOR I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR INIQUITIES, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE."(nasb) Heb 8:12 ὅτι ἵλεως ἔσομαι ταῖς ἀδικίαις αὐτῶν, καὶ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ μνησθῶ ἔτι.(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:12 quia propitius ero iniquitatibus eorum, et peccatorum eorum jam non memorabor.(vulgate) Heb 8:12 Denn ich will gnädig sein ihrer Untugend und ihren Sünden, und ihrer Ungerechtigkeit will ich nicht mehr gedenken."(dhs) Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."(nkjv) ======= Hebrews 8:13 ============ Heb 8:13 When He said, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.(nasb) Heb 8:13 ἐν τῶ λέγειν καινὴν πεπαλαίωκεν τὴν πρώτην· τὸ δὲ παλαιούμενον καὶ γηράσκον ἐγγὺς ἀφανισμοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Heb 8:13 Dicendo autem novum: veteravit prius. Quod autem antiquatur, et senescit, prope interitum est.(vulgate) Heb 8:13 Indem er sagt: "Ein neues", macht das erste alt. Was aber alt und überjahrt ist, das ist nahe bei seinem Ende.(dhs) Heb 8:13 In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete.
