denn wer da zweifelt, der ist wie die Meereswoge, die vom Winde getrieben und gewebt wird.(dhs) Jam 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.(nkjv) ======= James 1:7 ============ Jas 1:7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,(nasb) Jas 1:7 μὴ γὰρ οἰέσθω ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος ὅτι λήμψεταί τι παρὰ τοῦ κυρίου,(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:7 non ergo æstimet homo ille quod accipiat aliquid a Domino.(vulgate) Jas 1:7 Solcher Mensch denke nicht, daß er etwas von dem HERRN empfangen werde.(dhs) Jam 1:7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;(nkjv) ======= James 1:8 ============ Jas 1:8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.(nasb) Jas 1:8 ἀνὴρ δίψυχος, ἀκατάστατος ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:8 Vir duplex animo inconstans est in omnibus viis suis.(vulgate) Jas 1:8 Ein Zweifler ist unbeständig in allen seinen Wegen.(dhs) Jam 1:8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.(nkjv) ======= James 1:9 ============ Jas 1:9 But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;(nasb) Jas 1:9 καυχάσθω δὲ ὁ ἀδελφὸς ὁ ταπεινὸς ἐν τῶ ὕψει αὐτοῦ,(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:9 Glorietur autem frater humilis in exaltatione sua:(vulgate) Jas 1:9 Ein Bruder aber, der niedrig ist, rühme sich seiner Höhe;(dhs) Jam 1:9 Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation,(nkjv) ======= James 1:10 ============ Jas 1:10 and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.(nasb) Jas 1:10 ὁ δὲ πλούσιος ἐν τῇ ταπεινώσει αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ὡς ἄνθος χόρτου παρελεύσεται.(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:10 dives autem in humilitate sua, quoniam sicut flos fœni transibit;(vulgate) Jas 1:10 und der da reich ist, rühme sich seiner Niedrigkeit, denn wie eine Blume des Grases wird er vergehen.(dhs) Jam 1:10 but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away.(nkjv) ======= James 1:11 ============ Jas 1:11 For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.(nasb) Jas 1:11 ἀνέτειλεν γὰρ ὁ ἥλιος σὺν τῶ καύσωνι καὶ ἐξήρανεν τὸν χόρτον, καὶ τὸ ἄνθος αὐτοῦ ἐξέπεσεν καὶ ἡ εὐπρέπεια τοῦ προσώπου αὐτοῦ ἀπώλετο· οὕτως καὶ ὁ πλούσιος ἐν ταῖς πορείαις αὐτοῦ μαρανθήσεται.(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:11 exortus est enim sol cum ardore, et arefecit fœnum, et flos ejus decidit, et decor vultus ejus deperiit: ita et dives in itineribus suis marcescet.(vulgate) Jas 1:11 Die Sonne geht auf mit der Hitze, und das Gras verwelkt, und seine Blume fällt ab, und seine schöne Gestalt verdirbt: also wird der Reiche in seinen Wegen verwelken.(dhs) Jam 1:11 For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. Sit autem omnis homo velox ad audiendum: tardus autem ad loquendum, et tardus ad iram.(vulgate) Jas 1:19 Darum, liebe Brüder, ein jeglicher Mensch sei schnell, zu hören, langsam aber, zu reden, und ἐσόπτρῳ·(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:23 Quia si quis auditor est verbi, et non factor, hic comparabitur viro consideranti vultum nativitatis suæ in speculo:(vulgate) Jas 1:23 Denn so jemand ist ein Hörer des Worts und nicht ein Täter, der ist gleich einem Mann, der sein leiblich Angesicht im Spiegel beschaut.(dhs) Jam 1:23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;(nkjv) ======= James 1:24 ============ Jas 1:24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.(nasb) Jas 1:24 κατενόησεν γὰρ ἑαυτὸν καὶ ἀπελήλυθεν καὶ εὐθέως ἐπελάθετο ὁποῖος ἦν.(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:24 consideravit enim se, et abiit, et statim oblitus est qualis fuerit.(vulgate) Jas 1:24 Denn nachdem er sich beschaut hat, geht er davon und vergißt von Stund an, wie er gestaltet war.(dhs) Jam 1:24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.(nkjv) ======= James 1:25 ============ Jas 1:25 But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.(nasb) Jas 1:25 ὁ δὲ παρακύψας εἰς νόμον τέλειον τὸν τῆς ἐλευθερίας καὶ παραμείνας, οὐκ ἀκροατὴς ἐπιλησμονῆς γενόμενος ἀλλὰ ποιητὴς ἔργου, οὖτος μακάριος ἐν τῇ ποιήσει αὐτοῦ ἔσται.(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:25 Qui autem perspexerit in legem perfectam libertatis, et permanserit in ea, non auditor obliviosus factus, sed factor operis: hic beatus in facto suo erit.(vulgate) Jas 1:25 Wer aber durchschaut in das vollkommene Gesetz der Freiheit und darin beharrt und ist nicht ein vergeßlicher Hörer, sondern ein Täter, der wird selig sein in seiner Tat.(dhs) Jam 1:25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.(nkjv) ======= James 1:26 ============ Jas 1:26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless.(nasb) Jas 1:26 εἴ τις δοκεῖ θρησκὸς εἶναι, μὴ χαλιναγωγῶν γλῶσσαν αὐτοῦ ἀλλὰ ἀπατῶν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ, τούτου μάταιος ἡ θρησκεία.(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:26 Si quis autem putat se religiosum esse, non refrenans linguam suam, sed seducens cor suum, hujus vana est religio.(vulgate) Jas 1:26 So sich jemand unter euch läßt dünken, er diene Gott, und hält seine Zunge nicht im Zaum, sondern täuscht sein Herz, des Gottesdienst ist eitel.(dhs) Jam 1:26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless.(nkjv) ======= James 1:27 ============ Jas 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.(nasb) Jas 1:27 θρησκεία καθαρὰ καὶ ἀμίαντος παρὰ τῶ θεῶ καὶ πατρὶ αὕτη ἐστίν, ἐπισκέπτεσθαι ὀρφανοὺς καὶ χήρας ἐν τῇ θλίψει αὐτῶν, ἄσπιλον ἑαυτὸν τηρεῖν ἀπὸ τοῦ κόσμου.(Nestle-Aland) Jas 1:27 Religio munda et immaculata apud Deum et Patrem, hæc est:
