And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.(nasb) Gen 4:2 Rursumque peperit fratrem ejus Abel. And the Lord had regard for Abel and for his offering;(nasb) Gen 4:4 Abel quoque obtulit de primogenitis gregis sui, et de adipibus eorum: et respexit Dominus ad Abel, et ad munera ejus.(vulgate) Génesis 4:4 Y Abel trajo también de los primogénitos de sus ovejas, y de su grosura. Und der HERR sah gnädig an Abel und sein Opfer;(D) Gen 4:4 καὶ Αβελ ἤνεγκεν καὶ αὐτὸς ἀπὸ τῶν πρωτοτόκων τῶν προβάτων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν στεάτων αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπεῖδεν ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ Αβελ καὶ ἐπὶ τοῖς δώροις αὐτοῦ(lxx) Gen 4:4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:5 ============ Gen 4:5 but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell.(nasb) Gen 4:5 Ad Cain vero, et ad munera illius non respexit: iratusque est Cain vehementer, et concidit vultus ejus.(vulgate) Génesis 4:5 mas no miró con agrado a Caín y a su ofrenda. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:6 ============ Gen 4:6 Then the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?(nasb) Gen 4:6 Dixitque Dominus ad eum: Quare iratus es? et cur concidit facies tua?(vulgate) Génesis 4:6 Entonces Jehová dijo a Caín: ¿Por qué te has ensañado, y por qué ha decaído tu rostro?(E) Genèse 4:6 Et l'Eternel dit à Caïn: Pourquoi es-tu irrité, et pourquoi ton visage est-il abattu?(F) Gen 4:6 Da sprach der HERR zu Kain: Warum ergrimmst du? und warum verstellt sich deine Gebärde?(D) Gen 4:6 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῷ Καιν ἵνα τί περίλυπος ἐγένου καὶ ἵνα τί συνέπεσεν τὸ πρόσωπόν σου(lxx) Gen 4:6 So the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:7 ============ Gen 4:7 If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it."(nasb) Gen 4:7 nonne si bene egeris, recipies: sin autem male, statim in foribus peccatum aderit? sed sub te erit appetitus ejus, et tu dominaberis illius.(vulgate) Génesis 4:7 Si bien hicieres, ¿no serás exaltado? Y si no hicieres bien, el pecado está a la puerta; con todo esto, a ti será su deseo, y tú señorearás sobre él.(E) Genèse 4:7 Certainement, si tu agis bien, tu relèveras ton visage, et si tu agis mal, le péché se couche à la porte, et ses désirs se portent vers toi: mais toi, domine sur lui.(F) Gen 4:7 Ist's nicht also? Wenn du fromm bist, so bist du angenehm; bist du aber nicht fromm, so ruht die Sünde vor der Tür, und nach dir hat sie Verlangen; du aber herrsche über sie.(D) Gen 4:7 οὐκ ἐὰν ὀρθῶς προσενέγκῃς ὀρθῶς δὲ μὴ διέλῃς ἥμαρτες ἡσύχασον πρὸς σὲ ἡ ἀποστροφὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ σὺ ἄρξεις αὐτοῦ(lxx) Gen 4:7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:8 ============ Gen 4:8 Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.(nasb) Gen 4:8 Dixitque Cain ad Abel fratrem suum: Egrediamur foras. Cumque essent in agro, consurrexit Cain adversus fratrem suum Abel, et interfecit eum.(vulgate) Génesis 4:8 Y habló Caín con su hermano Abel. And he said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"(nasb) Gen 4:9 Et ait Dominus ad Cain: Ubi est Abel frater tuus? Qui respondit: Nescio: num custos fratris mei sum ego?(vulgate) Génesis 4:9 Y Jehová dijo a Caín: ¿Dónde [está] Abel tu hermano? Il répondit: Je ne sais pas; suis-je le gardien de mon frère?(F) Gen 4:9 Da sprach der HERR zu Kain: Wo ist dein Bruder Abel? Er sprach: Ich weiß nicht; soll ich meines Bruders Hüter sein?(D) Gen 4:9 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Καιν ποῦ ἐστιν Αβελ ὁ ἀδελφός σου ὁ δὲ εἶπεν οὐ γινώσκω μὴ φύλαξ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ μού εἰμι ἐγώ(lxx) Gen 4:9 Then the Lord said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" He said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:10 ============ Gen 4:10 He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to Me from the ground.(nasb) Gen 4:10 Dixitque ad eum: Quid fecisti? vox sanguinis fratris tui clamat ad me de terra.(vulgate) Génesis 4:10 Y Él le dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? La voz de la sangre de tu hermano clama a mí desde la tierra.(E) Genèse 4:10 Et Dieu dit: Qu'as-tu fait? La voix du sang de ton frère crie de la terre jusqu'à moi.(F) Gen 4:10 Er aber sprach: Was hast du getan? Die Stimme des Bluts deines Bruders schreit zu mir von der Erde.(D) Gen 4:10 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεός τί ἐποίησας φωνὴ αἵματος τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου βοᾷ πρός με ἐκ τῆς γῆς(lxx) Gen 4:10 And He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:11 ============ Gen 4:11 Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.(nasb) Gen 4:11 Nunc igitur maledictus eris super terram, quæ aperuit os suum, et suscepit sanguinem fratris tui de manu tua.(vulgate) Génesis 4:11 Ahora pues, maldito [seas] tú de la tierra que abrió su boca para recibir de tu mano la sangre de tu hermano:(E) Genèse 4:11 Maintenant, tu seras maudit de la terre qui a ouvert sa bouche pour recevoir de ta main le sang de ton frère.(F) Gen 4:11 Und nun verflucht seist du auf der Erde, die ihr Maul hat aufgetan und deines Bruders Blut von deinen Händen empfangen.(D) Gen 4:11 καὶ νῦν ἐπικατάρατος σὺ ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἣ ἔχανεν τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς δέξασθαι τὸ αἷμα τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου ἐκ τῆς χειρός σου(lxx) Gen 4:11 So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:12 ============ Gen 4:12 When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth."(nasb) Gen 4:12 Cum operatus fueris eam, non dabit tibi fructus suos: vagus et profugus eris super terram.(vulgate) Génesis 4:12 Cuando labrares la tierra, no te volverá a dar su fuerza: errante y extranjero serás en la tierra.(E) Genèse 4:12 Quand tu cultiveras le sol, il ne te donnera plus sa richesse. Tu seras errant et vagabond sur la terre.(F) Gen 4:12 Wenn du den Acker bauen wirst, soll er dir hinfort sein Vermögen nicht geben. Unstet und flüchtig sollst du sein auf Erden.(D) Gen 4:12 ὅτι ἐργᾷ τὴν γῆν καὶ οὐ προσθήσει τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτῆς δοῦναί σοι στένων καὶ τρέμων ἔσῃ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς(lxx) Gen 4:12 When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:13 ============ Gen 4:13 Cain said to the Lord, "My punishment is too great to bear!(nasb) Gen 4:13 Dixitque Cain ad Dominum: Major est iniquitas mea, quam ut veniam merear.(vulgate) Génesis 4:13 Y dijo Caín a Jehová: Mi castigo [es] más grande de lo que puedo soportar.(E) Genèse 4:13 Caïn dit à l'Eternel: Mon châtiment est trop grand pour être supporté.(F) Gen 4:13 Kain aber sprach zu dem HERRN: Meine Sünde ist größer, denn daß sie mir vergeben werden möge.(D) Gen 4:13 καὶ εἶπεν Καιν πρὸς τὸν κύριον μείζων ἡ αἰτία μου τοῦ ἀφεθῆναί με(lxx) Gen 4:13 And Cain said to the Lord, "My punishment is greater than I can bear!(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:14 ============ Gen 4:14 Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."(nasb) Gen 4:14 Ecce ejicis me hodie a facie terræ, et a facie tua abscondar, et ero vagus et profugus in terra: omnis igitur qui invenerit me, occidet me.(vulgate) Génesis 4:14 He aquí me echas hoy de la faz de la tierra, y de tu presencia me esconderé; y seré fugitivo y vagabundo en la tierra; y sucederá que cualquiera que me hallare, me matará.(E) Genèse 4:14 Voici, tu me chasses aujourd'hui de cette terre; je serai caché loin de ta face, je serai errant et vagabond sur la terre, et quiconque me trouvera me tuera.(F) Gen 4:14 Siehe, du treibst mich heute aus dem Lande, und ich muß mich vor deinem Angesicht verbergen und muß unstet und flüchtig sein auf Erden. So wird mir's gehen, daß mich totschlage, wer mich findet.(D) Gen 4:14 εἰ ἐκβάλλεις με σήμερον ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ προσώπου σου κρυβήσομαι καὶ ἔσομαι στένων καὶ τρέμων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἔσται πᾶς ὁ εὑρίσκων με ἀποκτενεῖ με(lxx) Gen 4:14 Surely You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground; I shall be hidden from Your face; I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:15 ============ Gen 4:15 So the Lord said to him, "Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold." And the Lord appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one finding him would slay him.(nasb) Gen 4:15 Dixitque ei Dominus: Nequaquam ita fiet: sed omnis qui occiderit Cain, septuplum punietur. Posuitque Dominus Cain signum, ut non interficeret eum omnis qui invenisset eum.(vulgate) Génesis 4:15 Y le respondió Jehová: Ciertamente que cualquiera que matare a Caín, siete veces será castigado. Entonces Jehová puso señal en Caín, para que no lo matase cualquiera que le hallara.(E) Genèse 4:15 L'Eternel lui dit: Si quelqu'un tuait Caïn, Caïn serait vengé sept fois. Et l'Eternel mit un signe sur Caïn pour que quiconque le trouverait ne le tuât point.(F) Gen 4:15 Aber der HERR sprach zu ihm: Nein; sondern wer Kain totschlägt, das soll siebenfältig gerächt werden. Und der HERR machte ein Zeichen an Kain, daß ihn niemand erschlüge, wer ihn fände.(D) Gen 4:15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ κύριος ὁ θεός οὐχ οὕτως πᾶς ὁ ἀποκτείνας Καιν ἑπτὰ ἐκδικούμενα παραλύσει καὶ ἔθετο κύριος ὁ θεὸς σημεῖον τῷ Καιν τοῦ μὴ ἀνελεῖν αὐτὸν πάντα τὸν εὑρίσκοντα αὐτόν(lxx) Gen 4:15 And the Lord said to him, "Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold." And the Lord set a mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:16 ============ Gen 4:16 Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.(nasb) Gen 4:16 Egressusque Cain a facie Domini, habitavit profugus in terra ad orientalem plagam Eden.~(vulgate) Génesis 4:16 Y Caín se fue de la presencia de Jehová, y habitó en tierra de Nod, al oriente de Edén.(E) Genèse 4:16 Puis, Caïn s'éloigna de la face de l'Eternel, et habita dans la terre de Nod, à l'orient d'Eden.(F) Gen 4:16 Also ging Kain von dem Angesicht des HERRN und wohnte im Lande Nod, jenseit Eden, gegen Morgen.(D) Gen 4:16 ἐξῆλθεν δὲ Καιν ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ᾤκησεν ἐν γῇ Ναιδ κατέναντι Εδεμ(lxx) Gen 4:16 Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:17 ============ Gen 4:17 Cain had relations with his wife and she conceived, and gave birth to Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city Enoch, after the name of his son.(nasb) Gen 4:17 Cognovit autem Cain uxorem suam, quæ concepit, et peperit Henoch: et ædificavit civitatem, vocavitque nomen ejus ex nomine filii sui, Henoch.(vulgate) Génesis 4:17 Y conoció Caín a su esposa, la cual concibió y dio a luz a Enoc: y edificó una ciudad, y llamó el nombre de la ciudad del nombre de su hijo, Enoc.(E) Genèse 4:17 Caïn connut sa femme; elle conçut, et enfanta Hénoc. Il bâtit ensuite une ville, et il donna à cette ville le nom de son fils Hénoc.(F) Gen 4:17 Und Kain erkannte sein Weib, die ward schwanger und gebar den Henoch.
