And the Lord respected Abel and his offering,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:5 ============ Gen 4:5 but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell.(nasb) Gen 4:5 Ad Cain vero, et ad munera illius non respexit: iratusque est Cain vehementer, et concidit vultus ejus.(vulgate) Génesis 4:5 mas no miró con agrado a Caín y a su ofrenda. And why has your countenance fallen?(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:7 ============ Gen 4:7 If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it."(nasb) Gen 4:7 nonne si bene egeris, recipies: sin autem male, statim in foribus peccatum aderit? sed sub te erit appetitus ejus, et tu dominaberis illius.(vulgate) Génesis 4:7 Si bien hicieres, ¿no serás exaltado? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:8 ============ Gen 4:8 Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.(nasb) Gen 4:8 Dixitque Cain ad Abel fratrem suum: Egrediamur foras. The voice of your brother's blood is crying to Me from the ground.(nasb) Gen 4:10 Dixitque ad eum: Quid fecisti? vox sanguinis fratris tui clamat ad me de terra.(vulgate) Génesis 4:10 Y Él le dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:11 ============ Gen 4:11 Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.(nasb) Gen 4:11 Nunc igitur maledictus eris super terram, quæ aperuit os suum, et suscepit sanguinem fratris tui de manu tua.(vulgate) Génesis 4:11 Ahora pues, maldito [seas] tú de la tierra que abrió su boca para recibir de tu mano la sangre de tu hermano:(E) Genèse 4:11 Maintenant, tu seras maudit de la terre qui a ouvert sa bouche pour recevoir de ta main le sang de ton frère.(F) Gen 4:11 Und nun verflucht seist du auf der Erde, die ihr Maul hat aufgetan und deines Bruders Blut von deinen Händen empfangen.(D) Gen 4:11 καὶ νῦν ἐπικατάρατος σὺ ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἣ ἔχανεν τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς δέξασθαι τὸ αἷμα τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου ἐκ τῆς χειρός σου(lxx) Gen 4:11 So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:12 ============ Gen 4:12 When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth."(nasb) Gen 4:12 Cum operatus fueris eam, non dabit tibi fructus suos: vagus et profugus eris super terram.(vulgate) Génesis 4:12 Cuando labrares la tierra, no te volverá a dar su fuerza: errante y extranjero serás en la tierra.(E) Genèse 4:12 Quand tu cultiveras le sol, il ne te donnera plus sa richesse. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:13 ============ Gen 4:13 Cain said to the Lord, "My punishment is too great to bear!(nasb) Gen 4:13 Dixitque Cain ad Dominum: Major est iniquitas mea, quam ut veniam merear.(vulgate) Génesis 4:13 Y dijo Caín a Jehová: Mi castigo [es] más grande de lo que puedo soportar.(E) Genèse 4:13 Caïn dit à l'Eternel: Mon châtiment est trop grand pour être supporté.(F) Gen 4:13 Kain aber sprach zu dem HERRN: Meine Sünde ist größer, denn daß sie mir vergeben werden möge.(D) Gen 4:13 καὶ εἶπεν Καιν πρὸς τὸν κύριον μείζων ἡ αἰτία μου τοῦ ἀφεθῆναί με(lxx) Gen 4:13 And Cain said to the Lord, "My punishment is greater than I can bear!(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:14 ============ Gen 4:14 Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."(nasb) Gen 4:14 Ecce ejicis me hodie a facie terræ, et a facie tua abscondar, et ero vagus et profugus in terra: omnis igitur qui invenerit me, occidet me.(vulgate) Génesis 4:14 He aquí me echas hoy de la faz de la tierra, y de tu presencia me esconderé; y seré fugitivo y vagabundo en la tierra; y sucederá que cualquiera que me hallare, me matará.(E) Genèse 4:14 Voici, tu me chasses aujourd'hui de cette terre; je serai caché loin de ta face, je serai errant et vagabond sur la terre, et quiconque me trouvera me tuera.(F) Gen 4:14 Siehe, du treibst mich heute aus dem Lande, und ich muß mich vor deinem Angesicht verbergen und muß unstet und flüchtig sein auf Erden. So wird mir's gehen, daß mich totschlage, wer mich findet.(D) Gen 4:14 εἰ ἐκβάλλεις με σήμερον ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ προσώπου σου κρυβήσομαι καὶ ἔσομαι στένων καὶ τρέμων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἔσται πᾶς ὁ εὑρίσκων με ἀποκτενεῖ με(lxx) Gen 4:14 Surely You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground; I shall be hidden from Your face; I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 4:15 ============ Gen 4:15 So the Lord said to him, "Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold." And the Lord appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one finding him would slay him.(nasb) Gen 4:15 Dixitque ei Dominus: Nequaquam ita fiet: sed omnis qui occiderit Cain, septuplum punietur. Posuitque Dominus Cain signum, ut non interficeret eum omnis qui invenisset eum.(vulgate) Génesis 4:15 Y le respondió Jehová: Ciertamente que cualquiera que matare a Caín, siete veces será castigado. Entonces Jehová puso señal en Caín, para que no lo matase cualquiera que le hallara.(E) Genèse 4:15 L'Eternel lui dit: Si quelqu'un tuait Caïn, Caïn serait vengé sept fois. Et l'Eternel mit un signe sur Caïn pour que quiconque le trouverait ne le tuât point.(F) Gen 4:15 Aber der HERR sprach zu ihm: Nein; sondern wer Kain totschlägt, das soll siebenfältig gerächt werden. Und der HERR machte ein Zeichen an Kain, daß ihn niemand erschlüge, wer ihn fände.(D) Gen 4:15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ κύριος ὁ θεός οὐχ οὕτως πᾶς ὁ ἀποκτείνας Καιν ἑπτὰ ἐκδικούμενα παραλύσει καὶ ἔθετο κύριος ὁ θεὸς σημεῖον τῷ Καιν τοῦ μὴ ἀνελεῖν αὐτὸν πάντα τὸν εὑρίσκοντα αὐτόν(lxx) Gen 4:15 And the Lord said to him, "Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold."
