come up to us quickly and save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites that live in the hill country have assembled against us."(nasb) Jos 10:6 Habitatores autem Gabaon urbis obsessæ miserunt ad Josue, qui tunc morabatur in castris apud Galgalam, et dixerunt ei: Ne retrahas manus tuas ab auxilio servorum tuorum: ascende cito, et libera nos, ferque præsidium: convenerunt enim adversum nos omnes reges Amorrhæorum, qui habitant in montanis.(vulgate) Josué 10:6 Y los moradores de Gabaón enviaron a decir a Josué al campo en Gilgal: No niegues dar la mano a tus siervos; sube rápidamente a nosotros para defendernos y ayudarnos; porque todos los reyes de los amorreos que habitan en las montañas se han reunido contra nosotros.(E) Josué 10:6 Les gens de Gabaon envoyèrent dire à Josué, au camp de Guilgal: N'abandonne pas tes serviteurs, monte vers nous en hâte, délivre-nous, donne-nous du secours; car tous les rois des Amoréens, qui habitent la montagne, se sont réunis contre nous.(F) Jos 10:6 Aber die zu Gibeon sandten zu Josua ins Lager gen Gilgal und ließen ihm sagen: Zieh deine Hand nicht ab von deinen Knechten; komm zu uns herauf eilend, rette uns und hilf uns! denn es haben sich wider uns versammelt alle Könige der Amoriter, die auf dem Gebirge wohnen.(D) Jos 10:6 καὶ ἀπέστειλαν οἱ κατοικοῦντες Γαβαων πρὸς Ἰησοῦν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν Ισραηλ εἰς Γαλγαλα λέγοντες μὴ ἐκλύσῃς τὰς χεῖράς σου ἀπὸ τῶν παίδων σου ἀνάβηθι πρὸς ἡμᾶς τὸ τάχος καὶ ἐξελοῦ ἡμᾶς καὶ βοήθησον ἡμῖν ὅτι συνηγμένοι εἰσὶν ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς πάντες οἱ βασιλεῖς τῶν Αμορραίων οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν ὀρεινήν(lxx) Jos 10:6 And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, saying, "Do not forsake your servants; come up to us quickly, save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites who dwell in the mountains have gathered together against us."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 10:7 ============ Jos 10:7 So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him and all the valiant warriors.(nasb) Jos 10:7 Ascenditque Josue de Galgalis, et omnis exercitus bellatorum cum eo, viri fortissimi.(vulgate) Josué 10:7 Y subió Josué de Gilgal, él y toda la gente de guerra con él, y todos los hombres valientes.(E) Josué 10:7 Josué monta de Guilgal, lui et tous les gens de guerre avec lui, et tous les vaillants hommes.(F) Jos 10:7 Josua zog hinauf von Gilgal und alles Kriegsvolk mit ihm und alle streitbaren Männer.(D) Jos 10:7 καὶ ἀνέβη Ἰησοῦς ἐκ Γαλγαλων αὐτὸς καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ὁ πολεμιστὴς μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ πᾶς δυνατὸς ἐν ἰσχύι(lxx) Jos 10:7 So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 10:8 ============ Jos 10:8 The Lord said to Joshua, "Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hands; not one of them shall stand before you."(nasb) Jos 10:8 Dixitque Dominus ad Josue: Ne timeas eos: in manus enim tuas tradidi illos: nullus ex eis tibi resistere poterit.(vulgate) Josué 10:8 Y Jehová dijo a Josué: No tengas temor de ellos: porque yo los he entregado en tu mano, y ninguno de ellos parará delante de ti.(E) Josué 10:8 L'Eternel dit à Josué: Ne les crains point, car je les livre entre tes mains, et aucun d'eux ne tiendra devant toi.(F) Jos 10:8 Und der HERR sprach zu Josua: Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen, denn ich habe sie in deine Hände gegeben; niemand unter ihnen wird vor dir stehen können.(D) Jos 10:8 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Ἰησοῦν μὴ φοβηθῇς αὐτούς εἰς γὰρ τὰς χεῖράς σου παραδέδωκα αὐτούς οὐχ ὑπολειφθήσεται ἐξ αὐτῶν οὐθεὶς ἐνώπιον ὑμῶν(lxx) Jos 10:8 And the Lord said to Joshua, "Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hand; not a man of them shall stand before you."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 10:9 ============ Jos 10:9 So Joshua came upon them suddenly by marching all night from Gilgal.(nasb) Jos 10:9 Irruit itaque Josue super eos repente, tota nocte ascendens de Galgalis.(vulgate) Josué 10:9 Y Josué vino a ellos de repente, toda la noche subió desde Gilgal.(E) Josué 10:9 Josué arriva subitement sur eux, après avoir marché toute la nuit depuis Guilgal.(F) Jos 10:9 Also kam Josua plötzlich über sie; denn die ganze Nacht zog er herauf von Gilgal.(D) Jos 10:9 καὶ ἐπιπαρεγένετο ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς Ἰησοῦς ἄφνω ὅλην τὴν νύκτα εἰσεπορεύθη ἐκ Γαλγαλων(lxx) Jos 10:9 Joshua therefore came upon them suddenly, having marched all night from Gilgal.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 10:10 ============ Jos 10:10 And the Lord confounded them before Israel, and He slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and pursued them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon and struck them as far as Azekah and Makkedah.(nasb) Jos 10:10 Et conturbavit eos Dominus a facie Israël: contrivitque plaga magna in Gabaon, ac persecutus est eos per viam ascensus Bethoron, et percussit usque Azeca et Maceda.(vulgate) Josué 10:10 Y Jehová los turbó delante de Israel, y los hirió con gran mortandad en Gabaón: y los siguió por el camino que sube a Bet-horón, y los hirió hasta Azeca y Maceda.(E) Josué 10:10 L'Eternel les mit en déroute devant Israël; et Israël leur fit éprouver une grande défaite près de Gabaon, les poursuivit sur le chemin qui monte à Beth-Horon, et les battit jusqu'à Azéka et à Makkéda.(F) Jos 10:10 Aber der HERR schreckte sie vor Israel, daß sie eine große Schlacht schlugen zu Gibeon und jagten ihnen nach den Weg hinan zu Beth-Horon und schlugen sie bis gen Aseka und Makkeda.(D) Jos 10:10 καὶ ἐξέστησεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ συνέτριψεν αὐτοὺς κύριος σύντριψιν μεγάλην ἐν Γαβαων καὶ κατεδίωξαν αὐτοὺς ὁδὸν ἀναβάσεως Ωρωνιν καὶ κατέκοπτον αὐτοὺς ἕως Αζηκα καὶ ἕως Μακηδα(lxx) Jos 10:10 So the Lord routed them before Israel, killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them along the road that goes to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 10:11 ============ Jos 10:11 As they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth-horon, the Lord threw large stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died; there were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the sons of Israel killed with the sword.(nasb) Jos 10:11 Cumque fugerent filios Israël, et essent in descensu Bethoron, Dominus misit super eos lapides magnos de cælo usque ad Azeca: et mortui sunt multo plures lapidibus grandinis, quam quos gladio percusserant filii Israël.(vulgate) Josué 10:11 Y cuando iban huyendo de los israelitas, a la bajada de Bet-horón, Jehová arrojó sobre ellos del cielo grandes piedras hasta Azeca, y murieron; y fueron más los que murieron por las piedras del granizo, que los que los hijos de Israel mataron a espada.(E) Josué 10:11 Comme ils fuyaient devant Israël, et qu'ils étaient à la descente de Beth-Horon, l'Eternel fit tomber du ciel sur eux de grosses pierres jusqu'à Azéka, et ils périrent; ceux qui moururent par les pierres de grêle furent plus nombreux que ceux qui furent tués avec l'épée par les enfants d'Israël.(F) Jos 10:11 Und da sie vor Israel flohen den Weg zu Beth-Horon, ließ der HERR einen großen Hagel vom Himmel auf sie fallen bis gen Aseka, daß sie starben. Und viel mehr starben ihrer von dem Hagel, als die Kinder Israel mit dem Schwert erwürgten.(D) Jos 10:11 ἐν τῷ δὲ φεύγειν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐπὶ τῆς καταβάσεως Ωρωνιν καὶ κύριος ἐπέρριψεν αὐτοῖς λίθους χαλάζης ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἕως Αζηκα καὶ ἐγένοντο πλείους οἱ ἀποθανόντες διὰ τοὺς λίθους τῆς χαλάζης ἢ οὓς ἀπέκτειναν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ μαχαίρᾳ ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ(lxx) Jos 10:11 And it happened, as they fled before Israel and were on the descent of Beth Horon, that the Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 10:12 ============ Jos 10:12 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, "O sun, stand still at Gibeon, And O moon in the valley of Aijalon."(nasb) Jos 10:12 Tunc locutus est Josue Domino, in die qua tradidit Amorrhæum in conspectu filiorum Israël, dixitque coram eis: [Sol, contra Gabaon ne movearis, et luna contra vallem Ajalon.(vulgate) Josué 10:12 Entonces Josué habló a Jehová el día que Jehová entregó al amorreo delante de los hijos de Israel, y dijo en presencia de los israelitas: Sol, detente en Gabaón; y tú, Luna, en el valle de Ajalón.(E) Josué 10:12 Alors Josué parla à l'Eternel, le jour où l'Eternel livra les Amoréens aux enfants d'Israël, et il dit en présence d'Israël: Soleil, arrête-toi sur Gabaon, Et toi, lune, sur la vallée d'Ajalon!(F) Jos 10:12 Da redete Josua mit dem HERRN des Tages, da der HERR die Amoriter dahingab vor den Kindern Israel, und sprach vor dem gegenwärtigen Israel: Sonne, stehe still zu Gibeon, und Mond, im Tal Ajalon!(D) Jos 10:12 τότε ἐλάλησεν Ἰησοῦς πρὸς κύριον ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ παρέδωκεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν Αμορραῖον ὑποχείριον Ισραηλ ἡνίκα συνέτριψεν αὐτοὺς ἐν Γαβαων καὶ συνετρίβησαν ἀπὸ προσώπου υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν Ἰησοῦς στήτω ὁ ἥλιος κατὰ Γαβαων καὶ ἡ σελήνη κατὰ φάραγγα Αιλων(lxx) Jos 10:12 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: "Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 10:13 ============ Jos 10:13 So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, Until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies. Is it not written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.(nasb) Jos 10:13 Steteruntque sol et luna, donec ulcisceretur se gens de inimicis suis.] Nonne scriptum est hoc in libro justorum? Also stand die Sonne mitten am Himmel und verzog unterzugehen beinahe einen ganzen Tag.(D) Jos 10:13 καὶ ἔστη ὁ ἥλιος καὶ ἡ σελήνη ἐν στάσει ἕως ἠμύνατο ὁ θεὸς τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτῶν καὶ ἔστη ὁ ἥλιος κατὰ μέσον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ οὐ προεπορεύετο εἰς δυσμὰς εἰς τέλος ἡμέρας μιᾶς(lxx) Jos 10:13 So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? And they drew near and put their feet on their necks.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 10:25 ============ Jos 10:25 Joshua then said to them, "Do not fear or be dismayed! Und sie legten große Steine vor der Höhle Loch; die sind noch da bis auf diesen Tag.(D) Jos 10:27 καὶ ἐγενήθη πρὸς ἡλίου δυσμὰς ἐνετείλατο Ἰησοῦς καὶ καθεῖλον αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν ξύλων καὶ ἔρριψαν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ σπήλαιον εἰς ὃ κατεφύγοσαν ἐκεῖ καὶ ἐπεκύλισαν λίθους ἐπὶ τὸ σπήλαιον ἕως τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας(lxx) Jos 10:27 So it was at the time of the going down of the sun that Joshua commanded, and they took them down from the trees, cast them into the cave where they had been hidden, and laid large stones against the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 10:28 ============ Jos 10:28 Now Joshua captured Makkedah on that day, and struck it and its king with the edge of the sword; he utterly destroyed it and every person who was in it. He left no survivor. He utterly destroyed them--all the people who were in it. He let none remain.
