Today's Date: ======= 2 Kings 5:1 ============ 2Ki 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Aram, was a great man with his master, and highly respected, because by him the Lord had given victory to Aram. The man was also a valiant warrior, but he was a leper.(nasb) 2Ki 5:1 Naaman princeps militiæ regis Syriæ erat vir magnus apud dominum suum, et honoratus: per illum enim dedit Dominus salutem Syriæ: erat autem vir fortis et dives, sed leprosus.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:1 Naamán, general del ejército del rey de Siria, era un gran varón delante de su señor, y le tenía en alta estima, porque por medio de él había dado Jehová salvamento a Siria. Era este hombre valeroso en extremo, [pero] leproso.(E) 2 Rois 5:1 Naaman, chef de l'armée du roi de Syrie, jouissait de la faveur de son maître et d'une grande considération; car c'était par lui que l'Eternel avait délivré les Syriens. Mais cet homme fort et vaillant était lépreux.(F) 2Ki 5:1 Naeman, der Feldhauptmann des Königs von Syrien, war ein trefflicher Mann vor seinem Herrn und hoch gehalten; denn durch ihn gab der HERR Heil in Syrien. Und er war ein gewaltiger Mann, und aussätzig.(D) 2Ki 5:1 καὶ Ναιμαν ὁ ἄρχων τῆς δυνάμεως Συρίας ἦν ἀνὴρ μέγας ἐνώπιον τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ καὶ τεθαυμασμένος προσώπῳ ὅτι ἐν αὐτῷ ἔδωκεν κύριος σωτηρίαν Συρίᾳ καὶ ὁ ἀνὴρ ἦν δυνατὸς ἰσχύι λελεπρωμένος(lxx) 2Ki 5:1 Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:2 ============ 2Ki 5:2 Now the Arameans had gone out in bands and had taken captive a little girl from the land of Israel; and she waited on Naaman's wife.(nasb) 2Ki 5:2 Porro de Syria egressi fuerant latrunculi, et captivam duxerant de terra Israël puellam parvulam, quæ erat in obsequio uxoris Naaman:(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:2 Y de Siria habían salido cuadrillas, y habían llevado cautiva de la tierra de Israel una muchacha; la cual sirviendo a la esposa de Naamán,(E) 2 Rois 5:2 Or les Syriens étaient sortis par troupes, et ils avaient emmené captive une petite fille du pays d'Israël, qui était au service de la femme de Naaman.(F) 2Ki 5:2 Die Kriegsleute aber in Syrien waren herausgefallen und hatten eine junge Dirne weggeführt aus dem Lande Israel; die war im Dienst des Weibes Naemans.(D) 2Ki 5:2 καὶ Συρία ἐξῆλθον μονόζωνοι καὶ ᾐχμαλώτευσαν ἐκ γῆς Ισραηλ νεάνιδα μικράν καὶ ἦν ἐνώπιον τῆς γυναικὸς Ναιμαν(lxx) 2Ki 5:2 And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman's wife.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:3 ============ 2Ki 5:3 She said to her mistress, "I wish that my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would cure him of his leprosy."(nasb) 2Ki 5:3 quæ ait ad dominam suam: Utinam fuisset dominus meus ad prophetam qui est in Samaria, profecto curasset eum a lepra quam habet.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:3 dijo a su señora: Si rogase mi señor al profeta que [está] en Samaria, él lo sanaría de su lepra.(E) 2 Rois 5:3 Et elle dit à sa maîtresse: Oh! si mon seigneur était auprès du prophète qui est à Samarie, le prophète le guérirait de sa lèpre!(F) 2Ki 5:3 Die sprach zu ihrer Frau: Ach, daß mein Herr wäre bei dem Propheten zu Samaria! der würde ihn von seinem Aussatz losmachen.(D) 2Ki 5:3 ἡ δὲ εἶπεν τῇ κυρίᾳ αὐτῆς ὄφελον ὁ κύριός μου ἐνώπιον τοῦ προφήτου τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ τότε ἀποσυνάξει αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς λέπρας αὐτοῦ(lxx) 2Ki 5:3 Then she said to her mistress, "If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! He departed and took with him ten talents of silver and six thousand shekels of gold and ten changes of clothes.(nasb) 2Ki 5:5 Dixitque ei rex Syriæ: Vade, et mittam litteras ad regem Israël. Qui cum profectus esset, et tulisset secum decem talenta argenti, et sex millia aureos, et decem mutatoria vestimentorum,(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:5 Y le dijo el rey de Siria: Anda, ve, y yo enviaré una carta al rey de Israel. Partió, pues, él, llevando consigo diez talentos de plata, y seis mil [piezas] de oro, y diez mudas de vestiduras.(E) 2 Rois 5:5 Et le roi de Syrie dit: Va, rends-toi à Samarie, et j'enverrai une lettre au roi d'Israël. Il partit, prenant avec lui dix talents d'argent, six mille sicles d'or, et dix vêtements de rechange.(F) 2Ki 5:5 Der König von Syrien sprach: So zieh hin, ich will dem König Israels einen Brief schreiben. Und er zog hin und nahm mit sich zehn Zentner Silber und sechstausend Goldgulden und zehn Feierkleider(D) 2Ki 5:5 καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς Συρίας πρὸς Ναιμαν δεῦρο εἴσελθε καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ βιβλίον πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔλαβεν ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα τάλαντα ἀργυρίου καὶ ἑξακισχιλίους χρυσοῦς καὶ δέκα ἀλλασσομένας στολάς(lxx) 2Ki 5:5 Then the king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:6 ============ 2Ki 5:6 He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, "And now as this letter comes to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may cure him of his leprosy."(nasb) 2Ki 5:6 detulit litteras ad regem Israël in hæc verba: Cum acceperis epistolam hanc, scito quod miserim ad te Naaman servum meum, ut cures eum a lepra sua.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:6 Tomó también la carta para el rey de Israel, que decía así: Ahora, cuando esta carta llegue a ti, sabe [por ella] que yo te envío a mi siervo Naamán, para que lo sanes de su lepra.(E) 2 Rois 5:6 Il porta au roi d'Israël la lettre, où il était dit: Maintenant, quand cette lettre te sera parvenue, tu sauras que je t'envoie Naaman, mon serviteur, afin que tu le guérisses de sa lèpre.(F) 2Ki 5:6 und brachte den Brief dem König Israels, der lautete also: Wenn dieser Brief zu dir kommt, siehe, so wisse, ich habe meinen Knecht Naeman zu dir gesandt, daß du ihn von seinem Aussatz losmachst.(D) 2Ki 5:6 καὶ ἤνεγκεν τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ λέγων καὶ νῦν ὡς ἂν ἔλθῃ τὸ βιβλίον τοῦτο πρὸς σέ ἰδοὺ ἀπέστειλα πρὸς σὲ Ναιμαν τὸν δοῦλόν μου καὶ ἀποσυνάξεις αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς λέπρας αὐτοῦ(lxx) 2Ki 5:6 Then he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said, Now be advised, when this letter comes to you, that I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:7 ============ 2Ki 5:7 When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, "Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man is sending word to me to cure a man of his leprosy? But consider now, and see how he is seeking a quarrel against me."(nasb) 2Ki 5:7 Cumque legisset rex Israël litteras, scidit vestimenta sua, et ait: Numquid deus ego sum, ut occidere possim et vivificare, quia iste misit ad me ut curem hominem a lepra sua? animadvertite, et videte quod occasiones quærat adversum me.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:7 Y sucedió que cuando el rey de Israel leyó la carta, rasgó sus vestiduras, y dijo: ¿[Soy] yo Dios, que mate y dé vida, para que éste envíe a mí a que sane a un hombre de su lepra? Considerad ahora, y ved cómo busca ocasión contra mí.(E) 2 Rois 5:7 Après avoir lu la lettre, le roi d'Israël déchira ses vêtements, et dit: Suis-je un dieu, pour faire mourir et pour faire vivre, qu'il s'adresse à moi afin que je guérisse un homme de sa lèpre? Sachez donc et comprenez qu'il cherche une occasion de dispute avec moi.(F) 2Ki 5:7 Und da der König Israels den Brief las, zerriß er seine Kleider und sprach: Bin ich denn Gott, daß ich töten und lebendig machen könnte, daß er zu mir schickt, daß ich den Mann von seinem Aussatz losmache? Merkt und seht, wie sucht er Ursache wider mich!(D) 2Ki 5:7 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἀνέγνω βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τὸ βιβλίον διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν μὴ θεὸς ἐγὼ τοῦ θανατῶσαι καὶ ζωοποιῆσαι ὅτι οὗτος ἀποστέλλει πρός με ἀποσυνάξαι ἄνδρα ἀπὸ τῆς λέπρας αὐτοῦ ὅτι πλὴν γνῶτε δὴ καὶ ἴδετε ὅτι προφασίζεται οὗτός με(lxx) 2Ki 5:7 And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said, "Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:8 ============ 2Ki 5:8 It happened when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent word to the king, saying, "Why have you torn your clothes? Now let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel."(nasb) 2Ki 5:8 Quod cum audisset Eliseus vir Dei, scidisse videlicet regem Israël vestimenta sua, misit ad eum, dicens: Quare scidisti vestimenta tua? veniat ad me, et sciat esse prophetam in Israël.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:8 Y como Eliseo, varón de Dios oyó que el rey de Israel había rasgado sus vestiduras, envió a decir al rey: ¿Por qué has rasgado tus vestiduras? Venga ahora a mí, y sabrá que hay profeta en Israel.(E) 2 Rois 5:8 Lorsqu'Elisée, homme de Dieu, apprit que le roi d'Israël avait déchiré ses vêtements, il envoya dire au roi: Pourquoi as-tu déchiré tes vêtements? Laisse-le venir à moi, et il saura qu'il y a un prophète en Israël.(F) 2Ki 5:8 Da das Elisa, der Mann Gottes, hörte, daß der König seine Kleider zerrissen hatte, sandte er zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Warum hast du deine Kleider zerrissen? Laß ihn zu mir kommen, daß er innewerde, daß ein Prophet in Israel ist.(D) 2Ki 5:8 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν Ελισαιε ὅτι διέρρηξεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τὰ ἱμάτια ἑαυτοῦ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ λέγων ἵνα τί διέρρηξας τὰ ἱμάτιά σου ἐλθέτω δὴ πρός με Ναιμαν καὶ γνώτω ὅτι ἔστιν προφήτης ἐν Ισραηλ(lxx) 2Ki 5:8 So it was, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, "Why have you torn your clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:9 ============ 2Ki 5:9 So Naaman came with his horses and his chariots and stood at the doorway of the house of Elisha.(nasb) 2Ki 5:9 Venit ergo Naaman cum equis et curribus, et stetit ad ostium domus Elisei:(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:9 Y vino Naamán con sus caballos y con su carro, y se paró a las puertas de la casa de Eliseo.(E) 2 Rois 5:9 Naaman vint avec ses chevaux et son char, et il s'arrêta à la porte de la maison d'Elisée.(F) 2Ki 5:9 Also kam Naeman mit Rossen und Wagen und hielt vor der Tür am Hause Elisas.(D) 2Ki 5:9 καὶ ἦλθεν Ναιμαν ἐν ἵππῳ καὶ ἅρματι καὶ ἔστη ἐπὶ θύρας οἴκου Ελισαιε(lxx) 2Ki 5:9 Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha's house.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:10 ============ 2Ki 5:10 Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you and you will be clean."(nasb) 2Ki 5:10 misitque ad eum Eliseus nuntium, dicens: Vade, et lavare septies in Jordane, et recipiet sanitatem caro tua, atque mundaberis.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:10 Entonces Eliseo le envió un mensajero, diciendo: Ve y lávate siete veces en el Jordán, y tu carne se te restaurará, y serás limpio.(E) 2 Rois 5:10 Elisée lui fit dire par un messager: Va, et lave-toi sept fois dans le Jourdain; ta chair redeviendra saine, et tu seras pur.(F) 2Ki 5:10 Da sandte Elisa einen Boten zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Gehe hin und wasche dich siebenmal im Jordan, so wird dir dein Fleisch wieder erstattet und rein werden.(D) 2Ki 5:10 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ελισαιε ἄγγελον πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγων πορευθεὶς λοῦσαι ἑπτάκις ἐν τῷ Ιορδάνῃ καὶ ἐπιστρέψει ἡ σάρξ σού σοι καὶ καθαρισθήσῃ(lxx) 2Ki 5:10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:11 ============ 2Ki 5:11 But Naaman was furious and went away and said, "Behold, I thought, 'He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.'(nasb) 2Ki 5:11 Iratus Naaman recedebat, dicens: Putabam quod egrederetur ad me, et stans invocaret nomen Domini Dei sui, et tangeret manu sua locum lepræ, et curaret me.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:11 Y Naamán se fue enojado, diciendo: He aquí yo decía para mí: Saldrá él luego, y estando en pie invocará el nombre de Jehová su Dios, y alzará su mano, y tocará el lugar, y sanará la lepra.(E) 2 Rois 5:11 Naaman fut irrité, et il s'en alla, en disant: Voici, je me disais: Il sortira vers moi, il se présentera lui-même, il invoquera le nom de l'Eternel, son Dieu, il agitera sa main sur la place et guérira le lépreux.(F) 2Ki 5:11 Da erzürnte Naeman und zog weg und sprach: Ich meinte, er sollte zu mir herauskommen und hertreten und den Namen der HERRN, seines Gottes, anrufen und mit seiner Hand über die Stätte fahren und den Aussatz also abtun.(D) 2Ki 5:11 καὶ ἐθυμώθη Ναιμαν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ δὴ ἔλεγον ὅτι ἐξελεύσεται πρός με καὶ στήσεται καὶ ἐπικαλέσεται ἐν ὀνόματι θεοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπιθήσει τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον καὶ ἀποσυνάξει τὸ λεπρόν(lxx) 2Ki 5:11 But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, "Indeed, I said to myself, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.'(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:12 ============ 2Ki 5:12 Are not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?" So he turned and went away in a rage.(nasb) 2Ki 5:12 Numquid non meliores sunt Abana et Pharphar fluvii Damasci, omnibus aquis Israël, ut laver in eis, et munder? Cum ergo vertisset se, et abiret indignans,(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:12 Abana y Farfar, ríos de Damasco, ¿no [son] mejores que todas las aguas de Israel? Si me lavare en ellos, ¿no seré limpio? Y se volvió, y se fue enojado.(E) 2 Rois 5:12 Les fleuves de Damas, l'Abana et le Parpar, ne valent-ils pas mieux que toutes les eaux d'Israël? Ne pourrais-je pas m'y laver et devenir pur? Et il s'en retournait et partait avec fureur.(F) 2Ki 5:12 Sind nicht die Wasser Amana und Pharphar zu Damaskus besser denn alle Wasser in Israel, daß ich mich darin wüsche und rein würde? Und wandte sich und zog weg mit Zorn.(D) 2Ki 5:12 οὐχὶ ἀγαθὸς Αβανα καὶ Φαρφαρ ποταμοὶ Δαμασκοῦ ὑπὲρ Ιορδάνην καὶ πάντα τὰ ὕδατα Ισραηλ οὐχὶ πορευθεὶς λούσομαι ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ καθαρισθήσομαι καὶ ἐξέκλινεν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἐν θυμῷ(lxx) 2Ki 5:12 Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?" So he turned and went away in a rage.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:13 ============ 2Ki 5:13 Then his servants came near and spoke to him and said, "My father, had the prophet told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, 'Wash, and be clean'?"(nasb) 2Ki 5:13 accesserunt ad eum servi sui, et locuti sunt ei: Pater, etsi rem grandem dixisset tibi propheta, certe facere debueras: quanto magis quia nunc dixit tibi: Lavare, et mundaberis?(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:13 Mas sus criados se acercaron a él, y le hablaron, diciendo: Padre mío, [si] el profeta te mandara alguna gran cosa, ¿no [la] harías? ¿Cuánto más, diciéndote: Lávate, y serás limpio?(E) 2 Rois 5:13 Mais ses serviteurs s'approchèrent pour lui parler, et ils dirent: Mon père, si le prophète t'eût demandé quelque chose de difficile, ne l'aurais-tu pas fait? Combien plus dois-tu faire ce qu'il t'a dit: Lave-toi, et tu seras pur!(F) 2Ki 5:13 Da machten sich seine Knechte zu ihm, redeten mit ihm und sprachen: Lieber Vater, wenn dich der Prophet etwas Großes hätte geheißen, solltest du es nicht tun? Wie viel mehr, so er zu dir sagt: Wasche dich, so wirst du rein!(D) 2Ki 5:13 καὶ ἤγγισαν οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλάλησαν πρὸς αὐτόν μέγαν λόγον ἐλάλησεν ὁ προφήτης πρὸς σέ οὐχὶ ποιήσεις καὶ ὅτι εἶπεν πρὸς σέ λοῦσαι καὶ καθαρίσθητι(lxx) 2Ki 5:13 And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, "My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, 'Wash, and be clean'?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:14 ============ 2Ki 5:14 So he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child and he was clean.(nasb) 2Ki 5:14 Descendit, et lavit in Jordane septies juxta sermonem viri Dei: et restituta est caro ejus sicut caro pueri parvuli, et mundatus est.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 5:14 Él entonces descendió, y se zambulló siete veces en el Jordán, conforme a la palabra del varón de Dios; y su carne se volvió como la carne de un niño, y fue limpio.(E) 2 Rois 5:14 Il descendit alors et se plongea sept fois dans le Jourdain, selon la parole de l'homme de Dieu; et sa chair redevint comme la chair d'un jeune enfant, et il fut pur.(F) 2Ki 5:14 Da stieg er ab und taufte sich im Jordan siebenmal, wie der Mann Gottes geredet hatte; und sein Fleisch ward wieder erstattet wie das Fleisch eines jungen Knaben, und er ward rein.(D) 2Ki 5:14 καὶ κατέβη Ναιμαν καὶ ἐβαπτίσατο ἐν τῷ Ιορδάνῃ ἑπτάκι κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα Ελισαιε καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ἡ σὰρξ αὐτοῦ ὡς σὰρξ παιδαρίου μικροῦ καὶ ἐκαθαρίσθη(lxx) 2Ki 5:14 So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 5:15 ============ 2Ki 5:15 When he returned to the man of God with all his company, and came and stood before him, he said, "Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel; so please take a present from your servant now."(nasb) 2Ki 5:15 Reversusque ad virum Dei cum universo comitatu suo, venit, et stetit coram eo, et ait: Vere scio quod non sit alius deus in universa terra, nisi tantum in Israël.
