Today's Date: ======= 2 Kings 8:1 ============ 2Ki 8:1 Now Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, "Arise and go with your household, and sojourn wherever you can sojourn; for the Lord has called for a famine, and it will even come on the land for seven years."(nasb) 2Ki 8:1 Eliseus autem locutus est ad mulierem cujus vivere fecerat filium, dicens: Surge, vade tu et domus tua, et peregrinare ubicumque repereris: vocavit enim Dominus famem, et veniet super terram septem annis.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:1 Y habló Eliseo a aquella mujer, a cuyo hijo él había hecho vivir, diciendo: Levántate y vete, tú y toda tu casa, a vivir donde pudieres; porque Jehová ha llamado al hambre, la cual también vendrá sobre la tierra por siete años.(E) 2 Rois 8:1 Elisée dit à la femme dont il avait fait revivre le fils: Lève-toi, va t'en, toi et ta maison, et séjourne où tu pourras; und sie ging aus, den König anzurufen um ihr Haus und ihren Acker.(D) 2Ki 8:3 καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὸ τέλος τῶν ἑπτὰ ἐτῶν καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ἡ γυνὴ ἐκ γῆς ἀλλοφύλων εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἦλθεν βοῆσαι πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα περὶ τοῦ οἴκου ἑαυτῆς καὶ περὶ τῶν ἀγρῶν ἑαυτῆς(lxx) 2Ki 8:3 It came to pass, at the end of seven years, that the woman returned from the land of the Philistines; and she went to make an appeal to the king for her house and for her land.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:4 ============ 2Ki 8:4 Now the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, "Please relate to me all the great things that Elisha has done."(nasb) 2Ki 8:4 Rex autem loquebatur cum Giezi puero viri Dei, dicens: Narra mihi omnia magnalia quæ fecit Eliseus.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:4 Y el rey estaba hablando con Giezi, criado del varón de Dios, diciéndole: Te ruego que me cuentes todas las maravillas que ha hecho Eliseo.(E) 2 Rois 8:4 Le roi s'entretenait avec Guéhazi, serviteur de l'homme de Dieu, et il disait: Raconte-moi, je te prie, toutes les grandes choses qu'Elisée a faites.(F) 2Ki 8:4 Der König aber redete mit Gehasi, dem Diener des Mannes Gottes, und sprach: Erzähle mir alle großen Taten, die Elisa getan hat!(D) 2Ki 8:4 καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐλάλει πρὸς Γιεζι τὸ παιδάριον Ελισαιε τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τοῦ θεοῦ λέγων διήγησαι δή μοι πάντα τὰ μεγάλα ἃ ἐποίησεν Ελισαιε(lxx) 2Ki 8:4 Then the king talked with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, "Tell me, please, all the great things Elisha has done."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:5 ============ 2Ki 8:5 As he was relating to the king how he had restored to life the one who was dead, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life appealed to the king for her house and for her field. And Gehazi said, "My lord, O king, this is the woman and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life."(nasb) 2Ki 8:5 Cumque ille narraret regi quomodo mortuum suscitasset, apparuit mulier cujus vivificaverat filium, clamans ad regem pro domo sua, et pro agris suis. Dixitque Giezi: Domine mi rex, hæc est mulier, et hic est filius ejus quem suscitavit Eliseus.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:5 Y sucedió que mientras él contaba al rey cómo había hecho vivir a un muerto, he aquí, la mujer a cuyo hijo él había hecho vivir, que clamaba al rey por su casa y por sus tierras. And Gehazi said, "My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:6 ============ 2Ki 8:6 When the king asked the woman, she related it to him. So the king appointed for her a certain officer, saying, "Restore all that was hers and all the produce of the field from the day that she left the land even until now."(nasb) 2Ki 8:6 Et interrogavit rex mulierem: quæ narravit ei. Deditque ei rex eunuchum unum, dicens: Restitue ei omnia quæ sua sunt, et universos reditus agrorum, a die qua reliquit terram usque ad præsens.~(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:6 Y cuando el rey preguntó a la mujer, ella se lo contó. Entonces el rey le asignó un oficial, diciéndole: Haz que le devuelvan todas las cosas que eran suyas, y todo el fruto de su tierra desde el día que dejó el país hasta ahora.(E) 2 Rois 8:6 Le roi interrogea la femme, et elle lui fit le récit. Puis le roi lui donna un eunuque, auquel il dit: Fais restituer tout ce qui appartient à cette femme, avec tous les revenus du champ, depuis le jour où elle a quitté le pays jusqu'à maintenant.(F) 2Ki 8:6 Und der König fragte das Weib; und sie erzählte es ihm. Da gab ihr der König einen Kämmerer und sprach: Schaffe ihr wieder alles, was ihr gehört; dazu alles Einkommen des Ackers, seit der Zeit, daß sie das Land verlassen hat, bis hierher!(D) 2Ki 8:6 καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τὴν γυναῖκα καὶ διηγήσατο αὐτῷ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῇ ὁ βασιλεὺς εὐνοῦχον ἕνα λέγων ἐπίστρεψον πάντα τὰ αὐτῆς καὶ πάντα τὰ γενήματα τοῦ ἀγροῦ αὐτῆς ἀπὸ τῆς ἡμέρας ἧς κατέλιπεν τὴν γῆν ἕως τοῦ νῦν(lxx) 2Ki 8:6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. Now Ben-hadad king of Aram was sick, and it was told him, saying, "The man of God has come here."(nasb) 2Ki 8:7 Venit quoque Eliseus Damascum, et Benadad rex Syriæ ægrotabat: nuntiaveruntque ei, dicentes: Venit vir Dei huc.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:7 Eliseo se fue luego a Damasco, y Benadad, rey de Siria, estaba enfermo, al cual dieron aviso, diciendo: El varón de Dios ha venido aquí.(E) 2 Rois 8:7 Elisée se rendit à Damas. Da lag Benhadad, der König von Syrien, krank; und man sagte es ihm an und sprach: Der Mann Gottes ist hergekommen.(D) 2Ki 8:7 καὶ ἦλθεν Ελισαιε εἰς Δαμασκόν καὶ υἱὸς Αδερ βασιλεὺς Συρίας ἠρρώστει καὶ ἀνήγγειλαν αὐτῷ λέγοντες ἥκει ὁ ἄνθρωπος τοῦ θεοῦ ἕως ὧδε(lxx) 2Ki 8:7 Then Elisha went to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, "The man of God has come here."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:8 ============ 2Ki 8:8 The king said to Hazael, "Take a gift in your hand and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying, 'Will I recover from this sickness?'"(nasb) 2Ki 8:8 Et ait rex ad Hazaël: Tolle tecum munera, et vade in occursum viri Dei, et consule Dominum per eum, dicens: Si evadere potero de infirmitate mea hac?(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:8 Y el rey dijo a Hazael: Toma en tu mano un presente, y ve a recibir al varón de Dios, y consulta por él a Jehová, diciendo: ¿He de sanar de esta enfermedad?(E) 2 Rois 8:8 Le roi dit à Hazaël: Prends avec toi un présent, et va au-devant de l'homme de Dieu; consulte par lui l'Eternel, en disant: Guérirai-je de cette maladie?(F) 2Ki 8:8 Da sprach der König zu Hasael: Nimm Geschenke zu dir und gehe dem Mann Gottes entgegen und frage den HERRN durch ihn und sprich, ob ich von dieser Krankheit möge genesen.(D) 2Ki 8:8 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Αζαηλ λαβὲ ἐν τῇ χειρί σου μαναα καὶ δεῦρο εἰς ἀπαντὴν τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐπιζήτησον τὸν κύριον παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ λέγων εἰ ζήσομαι ἐκ τῆς ἀρρωστίας μου ταύτης(lxx) 2Ki 8:8 And the king said to Hazael, "Take a present in your hand, and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying, 'Shall I recover from this disease?' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:9 ============ 2Ki 8:9 So Hazael went to meet him and took a gift in his hand, even every kind of good thing of Damascus, forty camels' loads; and he came and stood before him and said, "Your son Ben-hadad king of Aram has sent me to you, saying, 'Will I recover from this sickness?'"(nasb) 2Ki 8:9 Ivit igitur Hazaël in occursum ejus, habens secum munera, et omnia bona Damasci, onera quadraginta camelorum. Cumque stetisset coram eo, ait: Filius tuus Benadad rex Syriæ misit me ad te, dicens: Si sanari potero de infirmitate mea hac?(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:9 Tomó pues Hazael en su mano un presente de todos los bienes de Damasco, cuarenta camellos cargados, y salió a recibirlo: y llegó y se puso delante de él, y dijo: Tu hijo Benadad, rey de Siria, me ha enviado a ti, diciendo: ¿He de sanar de esta enfermedad?(E) 2 Rois 8:9 Hazaël alla au-devant d'Elisée, prenant avec lui un présent, tout ce qu'il y avait de meilleur à Damas, la charge de quarante chameaux. Lorsqu'il fut arrivé, il se présenta à lui, et dit: Ton fils Ben-Hadad, roi de Syrie, m'envoie vers toi pour dire: Guérirai-je de cette maladie?(F) 2Ki 8:9 Hasael ging ihm entgegen und nahm Geschenke mit sich und allerlei Güter zu Damaskus, eine Last für vierzig Kamele. Und da er kam, trat er vor ihn und sprach: Dein Sohn Benhadad, der König von Syrien, hat mich zu dir gesandt und läßt dir sagen: Kann ich auch von dieser Krankheit genesen?(D) 2Ki 8:9 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Αζαηλ εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔλαβεν μαναα ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ ἀγαθὰ Δαμασκοῦ ἄρσιν τεσσαράκοντα καμήλων καὶ ἦλθεν καὶ ἔστη ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς Ελισαιε ὁ υἱός σου υἱὸς Αδερ βασιλεὺς Συρίας ἀπέστειλέν με πρὸς σὲ λέγων εἰ ζήσομαι ἐκ τῆς ἀρρωστίας μου ταύτης(lxx) 2Ki 8:9 So Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, of every good thing of Damascus, forty camel-loads; and he came and stood before him, and said, "Your son Ben-Hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, 'Shall I recover from this disease?' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:10 ============ 2Ki 8:10 Then Elisha said to him, "Go, say to him, 'You will surely recover,' but the Lord has shown me that he will certainly die."(nasb) 2Ki 8:10 Dixitque ei Eliseus: Vade, dic ei: Sanaberis: porro ostendit mihi Dominus quia morte morietur.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:10 Y Eliseo le dijo: Ve y dile: Seguramente vivirás. Then he answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel: their strongholds you will set on fire, and their young men you will kill with the sword, and their little ones you will dash in pieces, and their women with child you will rip up."(nasb) 2Ki 8:12 Cui Hazaël ait: Quare dominus meus flet? At ille dixit: Quia scio quæ facturus sis filiis Israël mala. Civitates eorum munitas igne succendes, et juvenes eorum interficies gladio, et parvulos eorum elides, et prægnantes divides.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:12 Entonces le dijo Hazael: ¿Por qué llora mi señor? Y él respondió: Porque sé el mal que has de hacer a los hijos de Israel: a sus fortalezas prenderás fuego, y a sus jóvenes matarás a espada, y estrellarás a sus niños, y abrirás el vientre a sus mujeres encinta.(E) 2 Rois 8:12 Hazaël dit: Pourquoi mon seigneur pleure-t-il? Et Elisée répondit: Parce que je sais le mal que tu feras aux enfants d'Israël; tu mettras le feu à leurs villes fortes, tu tueras avec l'épée leurs jeunes gens, tu écraseras leurs petits enfants, et tu fendras le ventre de leurs femmes enceintes.(F) 2Ki 8:12 Da sprach Hasael: Warum weint mein Herr? Er sprach: Ich weiß, was für Übel du den Kindern Israel tun wirst: du wirst ihre festen Städte mit Feuer verbrennen und ihre junge Mannschaft mit dem Schwert erwürgen und ihre jungen Kinder töten und ihre schwangeren Weiber zerhauen.(D) 2Ki 8:12 καὶ εἶπεν Αζαηλ τί ὅτι ὁ κύριός μου κλαίει καὶ εἶπεν ὅτι οἶδα ὅσα ποιήσεις τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ κακά τὰ ὀχυρώματα αὐτῶν ἐξαποστελεῖς ἐν πυρὶ καὶ τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς αὐτῶν ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ ἀποκτενεῖς καὶ τὰ νήπια αὐτῶν ἐνσείσεις καὶ τὰς ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσας αὐτῶν ἀναρρήξεις(lxx) 2Ki 8:12 And Hazael said, "Why is my lord weeping?" He answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the children of Israel: Their strongholds you will set on fire, and their young men you will kill with the sword; and you will dash their children, and rip open their women with child."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:13 ============ 2Ki 8:13 Then Hazael said, "But what is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?" And Elisha answered, "The Lord has shown me that you will be king over Aram."(nasb) 2Ki 8:13 Dixitque Hazaël: Quid enim sum servus tuus canis, ut faciam rem istam magnam? Et ait Eliseus: Ostendit mihi Dominus te regem Syriæ fore.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 8:13 Y Hazael dijo: ¿Acaso [es] tu siervo, un perro, para que haga tan enorme cosa? Y respondió Eliseo: Jehová me ha mostrado que tú [serás] rey de Siria.(E) 2 Rois 8:13 Hazaël dit: Mais qu'est-ce que ton serviteur, ce chien, pour faire de si grandes choses? Et Elisée dit: L'Eternel m'a révélé que tu seras roi de Syrie.(F) 2Ki 8:13 Hasael sprach: Was ist dein Knecht, der Hund, daß er solch großes Ding tun sollte? Elisa sprach: Der HERR hat mir gezeigt, daß du König von Syrien sein wirst.(D) 2Ki 8:13 καὶ εἶπεν Αζαηλ τίς ἐστιν ὁ δοῦλός σου ὁ κύων ὁ τεθνηκώς ὅτι ποιήσει τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο καὶ εἶπεν Ελισαιε ἔδειξέν μοι κύριός σε βασιλεύοντα ἐπὶ Συρίαν(lxx) 2Ki 8:13 So Hazael said, "But what is your servant--a dog, that he should do this gross thing?" And Elisha answered, "The Lord has shown me that you will become king over Syria."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 8:14 ============ 2Ki 8:14 So he departed from Elisha and returned to his master, who said to him, "What did Elisha say to you?" And he answered, "He told me that you would surely recover."(nasb) 2Ki 8:14 Qui cum recessisset ab Eliseo, venit ad dominum suum. Qui ait ei: Quid dixit tibi Eliseus?
