And Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, the elders, and to the guardians of the children of Ahab, saying,(nasb) 2Ki 10:1 Erant autem Achab septuaginta filii in Samaria: scripsit ergo Jehu litteras, et misit in Samariam, ad optimates civitatis, et ad majores natu, et ad nutritios Achab, dicens:(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:1 Y tenía Acab en Samaria setenta hijos; y escribió cartas Jehú, y las envió a Samaria a los principales de Jezreel, a los ancianos y a los ayos [de los hijos] de Acab, diciendo:(E) 2 Rois 10:1 Il y avait dans Samarie soixante-dix fils d'Achab. And Jehu wrote and sent letters to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to those who reared Ahab's sons, saying:(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:2 ============ 2Ki 10:2 "Now, when this letter comes to you, since your master's sons are with you, as well as the chariots and horses and a fortified city and the weapons,(nasb) 2Ki 10:2 Statim ut acceperitis litteras has, qui habetis filios domini vestri, et currus, et equos, et civitates firmas, et arma,(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:2 Presto que lleguen estas cartas a vosotros, siendo que [tenéis] los hijos de vuestro señor, y que [tenéis] carros y gente de a caballo, la ciudad fortificada, y las armas,(E) 2 Rois 10:2 Maintenant, quand cette lettre vous sera parvenue, -puisque vous avez avec vous les fils de votre maître, avec vous les chars et les chevaux, une ville forte et les armes, -(F) 2Ki 10:2 Wenn dieser Brief zu euch kommt, bei denen eures Herrn Söhne sind und Wagen, Rosse, feste Städte und Rüstung,(D) 2Ki 10:2 καὶ νῦν ὡς ἐὰν ἔλθῃ τὸ βιβλίον τοῦτο πρὸς ὑμᾶς μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ κυρίου ὑμῶν καὶ μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν τὸ ἅρμα καὶ οἱ ἵπποι καὶ πόλεις ὀχυραὶ καὶ τὰ ὅπλα(lxx) 2Ki 10:2 Now as soon as this letter comes to you, since your master's sons are with you, and you have chariots and horses, a fortified city also, and weapons,(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:3 ============ 2Ki 10:3 select the best and fittest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house."(nasb) 2Ki 10:3 eligite meliorem, et eum qui vobis placuerit de filiis domini vestri, et eum ponite super solium patris sui, et pugnate pro domo domini vestri.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:3 mirad cuál es el mejor y el más recto de los hijos de vuestro señor y ponedlo en el trono de su padre, y pelead por la casa de vuestro señor.(E) 2 Rois 10:3 voyez lequel des fils de votre maître est le meilleur et convient le mieux, mettez-le sur le trône de son père, et combattez pour la maison de votre maître!(F) 2Ki 10:3 so sehet, welcher der Beste und geschickteste sei unter den Söhnen eures Herrn, und setzet ihn auf seines Vaters Stuhl und streitet für eures Herrn Haus.(D) 2Ki 10:3 καὶ ὄψεσθε τὸν ἀγαθὸν καὶ τὸν εὐθῆ ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς τοῦ κυρίου ὑμῶν καὶ καταστήσετε αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν θρόνον τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ πολεμεῖτε ὑπὲρ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ κυρίου ὑμῶν(lxx) 2Ki 10:3 choose the best qualified of your master's sons, set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:4 ============ 2Ki 10:4 But they feared greatly and said, "Behold, the two kings did not stand before him; how then can we stand?"(nasb) 2Ki 10:4 Timuerunt illi vehementer, et dixerunt: Ecce duo reges non potuerunt stare coram eo, et quomodo nos valebimus resistere?(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:4 Mas ellos tuvieron gran temor, y dijeron: He aquí dos reyes no pudieron resistirle, ¿cómo le resistiremos nosotros?(E) 2 Rois 10:4 Ils eurent une très grande peur, et ils dirent: Voici, deux rois n'ont pu lui résister; comment résisterions-nous?(F) 2Ki 10:4 Sie aber fürchteten sich gar sehr und sprachen: Siehe, zwei Könige konnten ihm nicht widerstehen; wie wollen wir denn stehen?(D) 2Ki 10:4 καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν σφόδρα καὶ εἶπον ἰδοὺ οἱ δύο βασιλεῖς οὐκ ἔστησαν κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ πῶς στησόμεθα ἡμεῖς(lxx) 2Ki 10:4 But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, "Look, two kings could not stand up to him; how then can we stand?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:5 ============ 2Ki 10:5 And the one who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders, and the guardians of the children, sent word to Jehu, saying, "We are your servants, all that you say to us we will do, we will not make any man king; do what is good in your sight."(nasb) 2Ki 10:5 Miserunt ergo præpositi domus, et præfecti civitatis, et majores natu, et nutritii, ad Jehu, dicentes: Servi tui sumus: quæcumque jusseris faciemus, nec constituemus nobis regem: quæcumque tibi placent, fac.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:5 Y el mayordomo, y el presidente de la ciudad, y los ancianos, y los ayos [de los hijos], enviaron a decir a Jehú: Siervos tuyos somos, y haremos todo lo que nos mandares; no elegiremos por rey a ninguno; tú harás [lo que] bien te pareciere.(E) 2 Rois 10:5 Et le chef de la maison, le chef de la ville, les anciens, et les gouverneurs des enfants, envoyèrent dire à Jéhu: Nous sommes tes serviteurs, et nous ferons tout ce que tu nous diras; nous n'établirons personne roi, fais ce qui te semble bon.(F) 2Ki 10:5 Und die über das Haus und über die Stadt waren und die Ältesten und Vormünder sandten hin zu Jehu und ließen ihm sagen: Wir sind deine Knechte: wir wollen alles tun, was du uns sagst; wir wollen niemand zum König machen. Tue was dir gefällt.(D) 2Ki 10:5 καὶ ἀπέστειλαν οἱ ἐπὶ τοῦ οἴκου καὶ οἱ ἐπὶ τῆς πόλεως καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι καὶ οἱ τιθηνοὶ πρὸς Ιου λέγοντες παῖδές σου ἡμεῖς καὶ ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπῃς πρὸς ἡμᾶς ποιήσομεν οὐ βασιλεύσομεν ἄνδρα τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου ποιήσομεν(lxx) 2Ki 10:5 And he who was in charge of the house, and he who was in charge of the city, the elders also, and those who reared the sons, sent to Jehu, saying, "We are your servants, we will do all you tell us; but we will not make anyone king. Do what is good in your sight."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:6 ============ 2Ki 10:6 Then he wrote a letter to them a second time saying, "If you are on my side, and you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men, your master's sons, and come to me at Jezreel tomorrow about this time." Now the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who were rearing them.(nasb) 2Ki 10:6 Rescripsit autem eis litteras secundo, dicens: Si mei estis, et obeditis mihi, tollite capita filiorum domini vestri, et venite ad me hac eadem hora cras in Jezrahel. Porro filii regis, septuaginta viri, apud optimates civitates nutriebantur.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:6 Él entonces les escribió la segunda vez diciendo: Si [sois] míos, y queréis obedecerme, tomad las cabezas de los varones hijos de vuestro señor, y venid mañana a estas horas a mí a Jezreel. Y los hijos del rey, setenta varones, [estaban] con los principales de la ciudad, que los criaban.(E) 2 Rois 10:6 Jéhu leur écrivit une seconde lettre où il était dit: Si vous êtes à moi et si vous obéissez à ma voix, prenez les têtes de ces hommes, fils de votre maître, et venez auprès de moi demain à cette heure, à Jizreel. Or les soixante-dix fils du roi étaient chez les grands de la ville, qui les élevaient.(F) 2Ki 10:6 Da schrieb er den andern Brief an sie, der lautete also: So ihr mein seid und meiner Stimme gehorcht, so nehmet die Häupter von den Männern, eures Herrn Söhnen, und bringt sie zu mir morgen um diese Zeit gen Jesreel. (Der Söhne aber des Königs waren siebzig Mann, und die Größten der Stadt zogen sie auf.)(D) 2Ki 10:6 καὶ ἔγραψεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς βιβλίον δεύτερον λέγων εἰ ἐμοὶ ὑμεῖς καὶ τῆς φωνῆς μου ὑμεῖς εἰσακούετε λάβετε τὴν κεφαλὴν ἀνδρῶν τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ κυρίου ὑμῶν καὶ ἐνέγκατε πρός με ὡς ἡ ὥρα αὔριον εἰς Ιεζραελ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ βασιλέως ἦσαν ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρες οὗτοι ἁδροὶ τῆς πόλεως ἐξέτρεφον αὐτούς(lxx) 2Ki 10:6 Then he wrote a second letter to them, saying: If you are for me and will obey my voice, take the heads of the men, your master's sons, and come to me at Jezreel by this time tomorrow. Now the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who were rearing them.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:7 ============ 2Ki 10:7 When the letter came to them, they took the king's sons and slaughtered them, seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him at Jezreel.(nasb) 2Ki 10:7 Cumque venissent litteras ad eos, tulerunt filios regis, et occiderunt septuaginta viros, et posuerunt capita eorum in cophinis, et miserunt ad eum in Jezrahel.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:7 Y sucedió que cuando la carta llegó a ellos, tomaron a los hijos del rey y degollaron a los setenta varones, y pusieron sus cabezas en canastas y se las enviaron a Jezreel.(E) 2 Rois 10:7 Quand la lettre leur fut parvenue, ils prirent les fils du roi, et ils égorgèrent ces soixante-dix hommes; puis ils mirent leurs têtes dans des corbeilles, et les envoyèrent à Jéhu, à Jizreel.(F) 2Ki 10:7 Da nun der Brief zu ihnen kam, nahmen sie des Königs Söhne und schlachteten die siebzig Männer und legten ihre Häupter in Körbe und schickten sie zu ihm gen Jesreel.(D) 2Ki 10:7 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἦλθεν τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς αὐτούς καὶ ἔλαβον τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἔσφαξαν αὐτούς ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας καὶ ἔθηκαν τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν ἐν καρτάλλοις καὶ ἀπέστειλαν αὐτὰς πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰς Ιεζραελ(lxx) 2Ki 10:7 So it was, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons and slaughtered seventy persons, put their heads in baskets and sent them to him at Jezreel.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:8 ============ 2Ki 10:8 When the messenger came and told him, saying, "They have brought the heads of the king's sons," he said, "Put them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until morning."(nasb) 2Ki 10:8 Venit autem nuntius, et indicavit ei, dicens: Attulerunt capita filiorum regis. Qui respondit: Ponite ea ad duos acervos juxta introitum portæ usque mane.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:8 Y vino un mensajero que le dio las nuevas, diciendo: Han traído las cabezas de los hijos del rey. Y él le dijo: Ponedlas en dos montones a la entrada de la puerta hasta la mañana.(E) 2 Rois 10:8 Le messager vint l'en informer, en disant: Ils ont apporté les têtes des fils du roi. And he said, "Lay them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until morning."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:9 ============ 2Ki 10:9 Now in the morning he went out and stood and said to all the people, "You are innocent; behold, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?(nasb) 2Ki 10:9 Cumque diluxisset, egressus est, et stans dixit ad omnem populum: Justi estis: si ego conjuravi contra dominum meum et interfeci eum, quis percussit omnes hos?(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:9 Y sucedió que venida la mañana, salió él, y estando en pie dijo a todo el pueblo: Vosotros [sois] justos; he aquí yo conspiré contra mi señor y lo maté, pero, ¿quién mató a todos éstos?(E) 2 Rois 10:9 Le matin, il sortit; et se présentant à tout le peuple, il dit: Vous êtes justes! voici, moi, j'ai conspiré contre mon maître et je l'ai tué; mais qui a frappé tous ceux-ci?(F) 2Ki 10:9 Und des Morgens, da er ausging, trat er dahin und sprach zu allem Volk: Ihr seid ja gerecht. Siehe, habe ich wider meinen Herrn einen Bund gemacht und ihn erwürgt, wer hat denn diese alle geschlagen?(D) 2Ki 10:9 καὶ ἐγένετο πρωὶ καὶ ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἔστη ἐν τῷ πυλῶνι τῆς πόλεως καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς πάντα τὸν λαόν δίκαιοι ὑμεῖς ἰδοὺ ἐγώ εἰμι συνεστράφην ἐπὶ τὸν κύριόν μου καὶ ἀπέκτεινα αὐτόν καὶ τίς ἐπάταξεν πάντας τούτους(lxx) 2Ki 10:9 So it was, in the morning, that he went out and stood, and said to all the people, "You are righteous. Indeed I conspired against my master and killed him; but who killed all these?(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:10 ============ 2Ki 10:10 Know then that there shall fall to the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spoke concerning the house of Ahab, for the Lord has done what He spoke through His servant Elijah."(nasb) 2Ki 10:10 videte ergo nunc quoniam non cecidit de sermonibus Domini in terram, quos locutus est Dominus super domum Achab: et Dominus fecit quod locutus est in manu servi sui Eliæ.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:10 Sabed ahora que de la palabra de Jehová, la cual habló Jehová sobre la casa de Acab, nada caerá en tierra; y que Jehová ha hecho lo que dijo por su siervo Elías.(E) 2 Rois 10:10 Sachez donc qu'il ne tombera rien à terre de la parole de l'Eternel, de la parole que l'Eternel a prononcée contre la maison d'Achab; l'Eternel accomplit ce qu'il a déclaré par son serviteur Elie.(F) 2Ki 10:10 So erkennet ihr ja, daß kein Wort des HERRN ist auf die Erde gefallen, das der HERR geredet hat wider das Haus Ahab; und der HERR hat getan, wie er geredet hat durch seinen Knecht Elia.(D) 2Ki 10:10 ἴδετε αφφω ὅτι οὐ πεσεῖται ἀπὸ τοῦ ῥήματος κυρίου εἰς τὴν γῆν οὗ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Αχααβ καὶ κύριος ἐποίησεν ὅσα ἐλάλησεν ἐν χειρὶ δούλου αὐτοῦ Ηλιου(lxx) 2Ki 10:10 "Know now that nothing shall fall to the earth of the word of the Lord which the Lord spoke concerning the house of Ahab; for the Lord has done what He spoke by His servant Elijah."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:11 ============ 2Ki 10:11 So Jehu killed all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men and his acquaintances and his priests, until he left him without a survivor.(nasb) 2Ki 10:11 Percussit igitur Jehu omnes qui reliqui erant de domo Achab in Jezrahel, et universos optimates ejus, et notos, et sacerdotes, donec non remanerent ex eo reliquiæ.~(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:11 Mató entonces Jehú a todos los que habían quedado de la casa de Acab en Jezreel, y a todos sus príncipes, y a todos sus familiares, y a sus sacerdotes, que no le quedó ninguno.(E) 2 Rois 10:11 Et Jéhu frappa tous ceux qui restaient de la maison d'Achab à Jizreel, tous ses grands, ses familiers et ses ministres, sans en laisser échapper un seul.(F) 2Ki 10:11 Also schlug Jehu alle übrigen vom Hause Ahab zu Jesreel, alle seine Großen, seine Verwandten und seine Priester, bis daß ihm nicht einer übrigblieb;(D) 2Ki 10:11 καὶ ἐπάταξεν Ιου πάντας τοὺς καταλειφθέντας ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ Αχααβ ἐν Ιεζραελ καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἁδροὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς γνωστοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς ἱερεῖς αὐτοῦ ὥστε μὴ καταλιπεῖν αὐτοῦ κατάλειμμα(lxx) 2Ki 10:11 So Jehu killed all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men and his close acquaintances and his priests, until he left him none remaining.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:12 ============ 2Ki 10:12 Then he arose and departed and went to Samaria. On the way while he was at Beth-eked of the shepherds,(nasb) 2Ki 10:12 Et surrexit, et venit in Samariam: cumque venisset ad Cameram pastorum in via,(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:12 Y se levantó de allí, y vino a Samaria; y llegando él, en el camino, a una casa de esquileo de pastores,(E) 2 Rois 10:12 Puis il se leva, et partit pour aller à Samarie. On the way, at Beth Eked of the Shepherds,(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:13 ============ 2Ki 10:13 Jehu met the relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah and said, "Who are you?" And they answered, "We are the relatives of Ahaziah; and we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother."(nasb) 2Ki 10:13 invenit fratres Ochoziæ regis Juda: dixitque ad eos: Quinam estis vos? Qui responderunt: Fratres Ochoziæ sumus, et descendimus ad salutandos filios regis, et filios reginæ.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:13 halló allí a los hermanos de Ocozías, rey de Judá, y les dijo: ¿Quién [sois] vosotros? So they answered, "We are the brothers of Ahaziah; we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:14 ============ 2Ki 10:14 He said, "Take them alive." So they took them alive and killed them at the pit of Beth-eked, forty-two men; and he left none of them.(nasb) 2Ki 10:14 Qui ait: Comprehendite eos vivos. Quos cum comprehendissent vivos, jugulaverunt eos in cisterna juxta Cameram, quadraginta duos viros: et non reliquit ex eis quemquam.(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:14 Entonces él dijo: Prendedlos vivos. Y después que los tomaron vivos, los degollaron junto al pozo de la casa de esquileo, cuarenta y dos varones, sin dejar ninguno de ellos.(E) 2 Rois 10:14 Jéhu dit: Saisissez-les vivants. Und sie griffen sie lebendig und schlachteten sie bei dem Brunnen am Hirtenhaus, zweiundvierzig Mann, und ließen nicht einen von ihnen übrig.(D) 2Ki 10:14 καὶ εἶπεν συλλάβετε αὐτοὺς ζῶντας καὶ συνέλαβον αὐτοὺς ζῶντας καὶ ἔσφαξαν αὐτοὺς εἰς Βαιθακαδ τεσσαράκοντα καὶ δύο ἄνδρας οὐ κατέλιπεν ἄνδρα ἐξ αὐτῶν(lxx) 2Ki 10:14 And he said, "Take them alive!" Now Jehu had appointed for himself eighty men on the outside, and had said, "If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escapes, whoever lets him escape, it shall be his life for the life of the other."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 10:25 ============ 2Ki 10:25 Then it came about, as soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the royal officers, "Go in, kill them; let none come out." And they killed them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the royal officers threw them out, and went to the inner room of the house of Baal.(nasb) 2Ki 10:25 Factum est autem, cum completum esset holocaustum, præcepit Jehu militibus et ducibus suis: Ingredimini, et percutite eos: nullus evadat. Percusseruntque eos in ore gladii, et projecerunt milites et duces: et ierunt in civitatem templi Baal,(vulgate) 2 Reyes 10:25 Y aconteció que cuando acabó de hacer el holocausto, Jehú dijo a los de la guardia y a los capitanes: Entrad y matadlos; que no escape ninguno. Und die Trabanten und Ritter warfen sie weg und gingen zur Stadt des Hauses Baals(D) 2Ki 10:25 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς συνετέλεσεν ποιῶν τὴν ὁλοκαύτωσιν καὶ εἶπεν Ιου τοῖς παρατρέχουσιν καὶ τοῖς τριστάταις εἰσελθόντες πατάξατε αὐτούς ἀνὴρ μὴ ἐξελθάτω ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτοὺς ἐν στόματι ῥομφαίας καὶ ἔρριψαν οἱ παρατρέχοντες καὶ οἱ τριστάται καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἕως πόλεως οἴκου τοῦ Βααλ(lxx) 2Ki 10:25 Now it happened, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, "Go in and kill them; let no one come out!"
