Now I had not been sad in his presence.(nasb) Neh 2:1 Factum est autem in mense Nisan, anno vigesimo Artaxerxis regis: et vinum erat ante eum, et levavi vinum, et dedi regi: et eram quasi languidus ante faciem ejus.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:1 Y sucedió en el mes de Nisán, en el año veinte del rey Artajerjes, que estando ya el vino delante de él, tomé el vino, y lo di al rey. Y como yo no había estado antes triste en su presencia,(E) Néhémie 2:1 Au mois de Nisan, la vingtième année du roi Artaxerxès, comme le vin était devant lui, je pris le vin et je l'offris au roi. Jamais je n'avais paru triste en sa présence.(F) Neh 2:1 Im Monat Nisan des zwanzigsten Jahre des Königs Arthahsastha, da Wein vor ihm stand, hob ich den Wein auf und gab dem König; und ich sah traurig vor ihm.(D) Neh 2:1 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν μηνὶ Νισαν ἔτους εἰκοστοῦ Αρθασασθα βασιλεῖ καὶ ἦν ὁ οἶνος ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ καὶ ἔλαβον τὸν οἶνον καὶ ἔδωκα τῷ βασιλεῖ καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἕτερος ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ(lxx) Neh 2:1 And it came to pass in the month of Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was before him, that I took the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had never been sad in his presence before.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:2 ============ Neh 2:2 So the king said to me, "Why is your face sad though you are not sick? This is nothing but sadness of heart." Then I was very much afraid.(nasb) Neh 2:2 Dixitque mihi rex: Quare vultus tuus tristis est, cum te ægrotum non videam? non est hoc frustra, sed malum nescio quod in corde tuo est. Et timui valde, ac nimis:(vulgate) Nehemías 2:2 me dijo el rey: ¿Por qué está triste tu rostro, pues no estás enfermo? No es esto sino quebranto de corazón. Entonces temí en gran manera.(E) Néhémie 2:2 Le roi me dit: Pourquoi as-tu mauvais visage? Tu n'es pourtant pas malade; ce ne peut être qu'un chagrin de coeur. Je fus saisi d'une grande crainte,(F) Neh 2:2 Da sprach der König zu mir: Warum siehst du so übel? Du bist ja nicht krank? Das ist's nicht, sondern du bist schwermütig. Ich aber fürchtete mich gar sehr(D) Neh 2:2 καὶ εἶπέν μοι ὁ βασιλεύς διὰ τί τὸ πρόσωπόν σου πονηρὸν καὶ οὐκ εἶ μετριάζων οὐκ ἔστιν τοῦτο εἰ μὴ πονηρία καρδίας καὶ ἐφοβήθην πολὺ σφόδρα(lxx) Neh 2:2 Therefore the king said to me, "Why is your face sad, since you are not sick? This is nothing but sorrow of heart." So I became dreadfully afraid,(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:3 ============ Neh 2:3 I said to the king, "Let the king live forever. Why should my face not be sad when the city, the place of my fathers' tombs, lies desolate and its gates have been consumed by fire?"(nasb) Neh 2:3 et dixi regi: Rex, in æternum vive: quare non mœreat vultus meus, quia civitas domus sepulchrorum patris mei deserta est, et portæ ejus combustæ sunt igni?(vulgate) Nehemías 2:3 Y dije al rey: Viva el rey para siempre. ¿Cómo no ha de estar triste mi rostro, cuando la ciudad, casa de los sepulcros de mis padres, está desierta, y sus puertas consumidas por el fuego?(E) Néhémie 2:3 et je répondis au roi: Que le roi vive éternellement! Comment n'aurais-je pas mauvais visage, lorsque la ville où sont les sépulcres de mes pères est détruite et que ses portes sont consumées par le feu?(F) Neh 2:3 und sprach zu dem König: Der König lebe ewiglich! Sollte ich nicht übel sehen? Die Stadt da das Begräbnis meiner Väter ist, liegt wüst, und ihre Tore sind mit Feuer verzehrt.(D) Neh 2:3 καὶ εἶπα τῷ βασιλεῖ ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ζήτω διὰ τί οὐ μὴ γένηται πονηρὸν τὸ πρόσωπόν μου διότι ἡ πόλις οἶκος μνημείων πατέρων μου ἠρημώθη καὶ αἱ πύλαι αὐτῆς κατεβρώθησαν ἐν πυρί(lxx) Neh 2:3 and said to the king, "May the king live forever! Why should my face not be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' tombs, lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire?"(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:4 ============ Neh 2:4 Then the king said to me, "What would you request?" So I prayed to the God of heaven.(nasb) Neh 2:4 Et ait mihi rex: Pro qua re postulas? Et oravi Deum cæli,(vulgate) Nehemías 2:4 Y me dijo el rey: ¿Qué cosa pides? Entonces oré al Dios de los cielos,(E) Néhémie 2:4 Et le roi me dit: Que demandes-tu? Je priai le Dieu des cieux,(F) Neh 2:4 Da sprach der König: Was forderst du denn? da betete ich zu dem Gott des Himmels(D) Neh 2:4 καὶ εἶπέν μοι ὁ βασιλεύς περὶ τίνος τοῦτο σὺ ζητεῖς καὶ προσηυξάμην πρὸς τὸν θεὸν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ(lxx) Neh 2:4 Then the king said to me, "What do you request?" So I prayed to the God of heaven.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:5 ============ Neh 2:5 I said to the king, "If it please the king, and if your servant has found favor before you, send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that I may rebuild it."(nasb) Neh 2:5 et dixi ad regem: Si videtur regi bonum, et si placet servus tuus ante faciem tuam, ut mittas me in Judæam ad civitatem sepulchri patris mei, et ædificabo eam.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:5 y dije al rey: Si le place al rey, y si tu siervo ha hallado gracia delante de ti, envíame a Judá, a la ciudad de los sepulcros de mis padres, para que yo la reedifique.(E) Néhémie 2:5 et je répondis au roi: Si le roi le trouve bon, et si ton serviteur lui est agréable, envoie-moi en Juda, vers la ville des sépulcres de mes pères, pour que je la rebâtisse.(F) Neh 2:5 und sprach zum König: Gefällt es dem König und ist dein Knecht angenehm vor dir, so wollest du mich senden nach Juda zu der Stadt des Begräbnisses meiner Väter, daß ich sie baue.(D) Neh 2:5 καὶ εἶπα τῷ βασιλεῖ εἰ ἐπὶ τὸν βασιλέα ἀγαθόν καὶ εἰ ἀγαθυνθήσεται ὁ παῖς σου ἐνώπιόν σου ὥστε πέμψαι αὐτὸν εἰς Ιουδα εἰς πόλιν μνημείων πατέρων μου καὶ ἀνοικοδομήσω αὐτήν(lxx) Neh 2:5 And I said to the king, "If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that I may rebuild it."(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:6 ============ Neh 2:6 Then the king said to me, the queen sitting beside him, "How long will your journey be, and when will you return?" So it pleased the king to send me, and I gave him a definite time.(nasb) Neh 2:6 Dixitque mihi rex, et regina quæ sedebat juxta eum: Usque ad quod tempus erit iter tuum, et quando reverteris? Et placuit ante vultum regis, et misit me: et constitui ei tempus.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:6 Entonces el rey me dijo (y la reina estaba sentada junto a él): ¿Cuánto durará tu viaje, y cuándo volverás? Y agradó al rey enviarme, y le señalé tiempo.(E) Néhémie 2:6 Le roi, auprès duquel la reine était assise, me dit alors: Combien ton voyage durera-t-il, et quand seras-tu de retour? Il plut au roi de me laisser partir, et je lui fixai un temps.(F) Neh 2:6 Und der König sprach zu mir und die Königin, die neben ihm saß: Wie lange wird deine Reise währen, und wann wirst du wiederkommen? Und es gefiel dem König, daß er mich hinsendete. Und ich setzte ihm eine bestimmte Zeit(D) Neh 2:6 καὶ εἶπέν μοι ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ ἡ παλλακὴ ἡ καθημένη ἐχόμενα αὐτοῦ ἕως πότε ἔσται ἡ πορεία σου καὶ πότε ἐπιστρέψεις καὶ ἠγαθύνθη ἐνώπιον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἀπέστειλέν με καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτῷ ὅρον(lxx) Neh 2:6 Then the king said to me (the queen also sitting beside him), "How long will your journey be? And when will you return?" So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:7 ============ Neh 2:7 And I said to the king, "If it please the king, let letters be given me for the governors of the provinces beyond the River, that they may allow me to pass through until I come to Judah,(nasb) Neh 2:7 Et dixi regi: Si regi videtur bonum, epistolas det mihi ad duces regionis trans flumen, ut traducant me, donec veniam in Judæam:(vulgate) Nehemías 2:7 Además dije al rey: Si place al rey, que se me den cartas para los gobernadores del otro lado del río, para que me franqueen el paso hasta que llegue a Judá;(E) Néhémie 2:7 Puis je dis au roi: Si le roi le trouve bon, qu'on me donne des lettres pour les gouverneurs de l'autre côté du fleuve, afin qu'ils me laissent passer et entrer en Juda,(F) Neh 2:7 und sprach zum König: Gefällt es dem König, so gebe man mir Briefe an die Landpfleger jenseit des Wassers, daß sie mich hinübergeleiten, bis ich komme nach Juda,(D) Neh 2:7 καὶ εἶπα τῷ βασιλεῖ εἰ ἐπὶ τὸν βασιλέα ἀγαθόν δότω μοι ἐπιστολὰς πρὸς τοὺς ἐπάρχους πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ ὥστε παραγαγεῖν με ἕως ἔλθω ἐπὶ Ιουδαν(lxx) Neh 2:7 Furthermore I said to the king, "If it pleases the king, let letters be given to me for the governors of the region beyond the River, that they must permit me to pass through till I come to Judah,(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:8 ============ Neh 2:8 and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the fortress which is by the temple, for the wall of the city and for the house to which I will go." And the king granted them to me because the good hand of my God was on me.(nasb) Neh 2:8 et epistolam ad Asaph custodem saltus regis, ut det mihi ligna, ut tegere possim portas turris domus, et muros civitatis, et domum quam ingressus fuero. Et dedit mihi rex juxta manum Dei mei bonam mecum.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:8 y carta para Asaf, guarda del bosque del rey, a fin que me dé madera para enmaderar los portales del palacio de la casa, y para el muro de la ciudad, y para la casa donde yo estaré. Y el rey me lo otorgó, según la bondadosa mano de mi Dios sobre mí.(E) Néhémie 2:8 et une lettre pour Asaph, garde forestier du roi, afin qu'il me fournisse du bois de charpente pour les portes de la citadelle près de la maison, pour la muraille de la ville, et pour la maison que j'occuperai. Le roi me donna ces lettres, car la bonne main de mon Dieu était sur moi.(F) Neh 2:8 und Briefe an Asaph den Holzfürsten des Königs, daß er mir Holz gebe zu Balken der Pforten an der Burg beim Tempel und zu der Stadtmauer und zum Hause, da ich einziehen soll. Und der König gab mir nach der guten Hand meines Gottes über mir.(D) Neh 2:8 καὶ ἐπιστολὴν ἐπὶ Ασαφ φύλακα τοῦ παραδείσου ὅς ἐστιν τῷ βασιλεῖ ὥστε δοῦναί μοι ξύλα στεγάσαι τὰς πύλας καὶ εἰς τὸ τεῖχος τῆς πόλεως καὶ εἰς οἶκον ὃν εἰσελεύσομαι εἰς αὐτόν καὶ ἔδωκέν μοι ὁ βασιλεὺς ὡς χεὶρ θεοῦ ἡ ἀγαθή(lxx) Neh 2:8 and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he must give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel which pertains to the temple, for the city wall, and for the house that I will occupy." And the king granted them to me according to the good hand of my God upon me.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:9 ============ Neh 2:9 Then I came to the governors of the provinces beyond the River and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent with me officers of the army and horsemen.(nasb) Neh 2:9 Et veni ad duces regionis trans flumen, dedique eis epistolas regis. Miserat autem rex mecum principes militum, et equites.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:9 Y vine luego a los gobernadores del otro lado del río, y les di las cartas del rey. Y el rey envió conmigo capitanes del ejército y gente de a caballo.(E) Néhémie 2:9 Je me rendis auprès des gouverneurs de l'autre côté du fleuve, et je leur remis les lettres du roi, qui m'avait fait accompagner par des chefs de l'armée et par des cavaliers.(F) Neh 2:9 Und da ich kam zu den Landpflegern jenseit des Wassers, gab ich ihnen des Königs Briefe. Und der König sandte mit mir Hauptleute und Reiter.(D) Neh 2:9 καὶ ἦλθον πρὸς τοὺς ἐπάρχους πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτοῖς τὰς ἐπιστολὰς τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἀπέστειλεν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἀρχηγοὺς δυνάμεως καὶ ἱππεῖς(lxx) Neh 2:9 Then I went to the governors in the region beyond the River, and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:10 ============ Neh 2:10 When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard about it, it was very displeasing to them that someone had come to seek the welfare of the sons of Israel.(nasb) Neh 2:10 Et audierunt Sanaballat Horonites, et Tobias servus Ammanites: et contristati sunt afflictione magna, quod venisset homo qui quæreret prosperitatem filiorum Israël.~(vulgate) Nehemías 2:10 Y oyéndolo Sanbalat horonita, y Tobías, el siervo amonita, les desagradó en extremo que viniese alguno para procurar el bien de los hijos de Israel.(E) Néhémie 2:10 Sanballat, le Horonite, et Tobija, le serviteur ammonite, l'ayant appris, eurent un grand déplaisir de ce qu'il venait un homme pour chercher le bien des enfants d'Israël.(F) Neh 2:10 Da aber das hörten Saneballat, der Horoniter, und Tobia, der ammonitische Knecht, verdroß es sie sehr, daß ein Mensch gekommen wäre, der Gutes suchte für die Kinder Israel.(D) Neh 2:10 καὶ ἤκουσεν Σαναβαλλατ ὁ Αρωνι καὶ Τωβια ὁ δοῦλος ὁ Αμμωνι καὶ πονηρὸν αὐτοῖς ἐγένετο ὅτι ἥκει ἄνθρωπος ζητῆσαι ἀγαθὸν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ(lxx) Neh 2:10 When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard of it, they were deeply disturbed that a man had come to seek the well-being of the children of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:11 ============ Neh 2:11 So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days.(nasb) Neh 2:11 Et veni Jerusalem, et eram ibi tribus diebus.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:11 Llegué, pues, a Jerusalén, y después de estar allí tres días,(E) Néhémie 2:11 J'arrivai à Jérusalem, et j'y passai trois jours.(F) Neh 2:11 Und da ich gen Jerusalem kam und drei Tage da gewesen war,(D) Neh 2:11 καὶ ἦλθον εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἤμην ἐκεῖ ἡμέρας τρεῖς(lxx) Neh 2:11 So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:12 ============ Neh 2:12 And I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. I did not tell anyone what my God was putting into my mind to do for Jerusalem and there was no animal with me except the animal on which I was riding.(nasb) Neh 2:12 Et surrexi nocte ego, et viri pauci mecum, et non indicavi cuiquam quid Deus dedisset in corde meo ut facerem in Jerusalem: et jumentum non erat mecum, nisi animal cui sedebam.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:12 me levanté de noche, yo y unos cuantos varones conmigo, y no declaré a hombre alguno lo que Dios había puesto en mi corazón que hiciese en Jerusalén; ni había bestia conmigo, excepto la cabalgadura en que cabalgaba.(E) Néhémie 2:12 Après quoi, je me levai pendant la nuit avec quelques hommes, sans avoir dit à personne ce que mon Dieu m'avait mis au coeur de faire pour Jérusalem. Il n'y avait avec moi d'autre bête de somme que ma propre monture.(F) Neh 2:12 machte ich mich des Nachts auf und wenig Männer mit mir (denn ich sagte keinem Menschen, was mir mein Gott eingegeben hatte zu tun an Jerusalem), und war kein Tier mit mir, ohne das, darauf ich ritt.(D) Neh 2:12 καὶ ἀνέστην νυκτὸς ἐγὼ καὶ ἄνδρες ὀλίγοι μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀπήγγειλα ἀνθρώπῳ τί ὁ θεὸς δίδωσιν εἰς καρδίαν μου τοῦ ποιῆσαι μετὰ τοῦ Ισραηλ καὶ κτῆνος οὐκ ἔστιν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ εἰ μὴ τὸ κτῆνος ᾧ ἐγὼ ἐπιβαίνω ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ(lxx) Neh 2:12 Then I arose in the night, I and a few men with me; I told no one what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem; nor was there any animal with me, except the one on which I rode.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:13 ============ Neh 2:13 So I went out at night by the Valley Gate in the direction of the Dragon's Well and on to the Refuse Gate, inspecting the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were consumed by fire.(nasb) Neh 2:13 Et egressus sum per portam vallis nocte, et ante fontem draconis, et ad portam stercoris, et considerabam murum Jerusalem dissipatum, et portas ejus consumptas igni.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:13 Y salí de noche por la puerta del Valle hacia la fuente del Dragón y a la puerta del Muladar; y observé los muros de Jerusalén que estaban derribados, y sus puertas estaban consumidas por el fuego.(E) Néhémie 2:13 Je sortis de nuit par la porte de la vallée, et je me dirigeai contre la source du dragon et vers la porte du fumier, considérant les murailles en ruines de Jérusalem et réfléchissant à ses portes consumées par le feu.(F) Neh 2:13 Und ich ritt zum Taltor aus bei der Nacht und gegen den Drachenbrunnen und an das Misttor; und es tat mir wehe, daß die Mauern Jerusalems eingerissen waren und die Tore mit Feuer verzehrt.(D) Neh 2:13 καὶ ἐξῆλθον ἐν πύλῃ τοῦ γωληλα καὶ πρὸς στόμα πηγῆς τῶν συκῶν καὶ εἰς πύλην τῆς κοπρίας καὶ ἤμην συντρίβων ἐν τῷ τείχει Ιερουσαλημ ὃ αὐτοὶ καθαιροῦσιν καὶ πύλαι αὐτῆς κατεβρώθησαν πυρί(lxx) Neh 2:13 And I went out by night through the Valley Gate to the Serpent Well and the Refuse Gate, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were burned with fire.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:14 ============ Neh 2:14 Then I passed on to the Fountain Gate and the King's Pool, but there was no place for my mount to pass.(nasb) Neh 2:14 Et transivi ad portam fontis, et ad aquæductum regis, et non erat locus jumento cui sedebam ut transiret.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:14 Pasé luego a la puerta de la Fuente, y al estanque del Rey; pero no había lugar por donde pasase la cabalgadura en que iba.(E) Néhémie 2:14 Je passai près de la porte de la source et de l'étang du roi, et il n'y avait point de place par où pût passer la bête qui était sous moi.(F) Neh 2:14 Und ging hinüber zu dem Brunnentor und zu des Königs Teich; und war da nicht Raum meinem Tier, daß es unter mir hätte gehen können.(D) Neh 2:14 καὶ παρῆλθον ἐπὶ πύλην τοῦ Αιν καὶ εἰς κολυμβήθραν τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ οὐκ ἦν τόπος τῷ κτήνει παρελθεῖν ὑποκάτω μου(lxx) Neh 2:14 Then I went on to the Fountain Gate and to the King's Pool, but there was no room for the animal under me to pass.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:15 ============ Neh 2:15 So I went up at night by the ravine and inspected the wall. Then I entered the Valley Gate again and returned.(nasb) Neh 2:15 Et ascendi per torrentem nocte, et considerabam murum, et reversus veni ad portam vallis, et redii.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:15 Y subí de noche por el torrente, y observé el muro, y regresando entré por la puerta del Valle, y regresé.(E) Néhémie 2:15 Je montai de nuit par le torrent, et je considérai encore la muraille. Puis je rentrai par la porte de la vallée, et je fus ainsi de retour.(F) Neh 2:15 Da zog ich bei Nacht den Bach hinan; und es tat mir wehe, die Mauern also zu sehen. Und kehrte um und kam zum Taltor wieder heim.(D) Neh 2:15 καὶ ἤμην ἀναβαίνων ἐν τῷ τείχει χειμάρρου νυκτὸς καὶ ἤμην συντρίβων ἐν τῷ τείχει καὶ ἤμην ἐν πύλῃ τῆς φάραγγος καὶ ἐπέστρεψα(lxx) Neh 2:15 So I went up in the night by the valley, and viewed the wall; then I turned back and entered by the Valley Gate, and so returned.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:16 ============ Neh 2:16 The officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done; nor had I as yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials or the rest who did the work.(nasb) Neh 2:16 Magistratus autem nesciebant quo abiissem, aut quid ego facerem: sed et Judæis, et sacerdotibus, et optimatibus, et magistratibus, et reliquis qui faciebant opus, usque ad id loci nihil indicaveram.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:16 Y no sabían los magistrados a dónde yo había ido, ni qué había hecho; ni hasta entonces lo había yo declarado a los judíos y sacerdotes, ni a los nobles y magistrados, ni a los demás que hacían la obra.(E) Néhémie 2:16 Les magistrats ignoraient où j'étais allé, et ce que je faisais. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach."(nasb) Neh 2:17 Et dixi eis: Vos nostis afflictionem in qua sumus: quia Jerusalem deserta est, et portæ ejus consumptæ sunt igni: venite, et ædificemus muros Jerusalem, et non simus ultra opprobrium.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:17 Les dije, pues: Vosotros veis el mal en que estamos, que Jerusalén está desierta, y sus puertas consumidas por el fuego; venid, y edifiquemos el muro de Jerusalén, y no seamos más oprobio.(E) Néhémie 2:17 Je leur dis alors: Vous voyez le malheureux état où nous sommes! Jérusalem est détruite, et ses portes sont consumées par le feu! Venez, rebâtissons la muraille de Jérusalem, et nous ne serons plus dans l'opprobre.(F) Neh 2:17 Und ich sprach zu ihnen: Ihr seht das Unglück, darin wir sind, daß Jerusalem wüst liegt und seine Tore sind mit Feuer verbrannt. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach."(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:18 ============ Neh 2:18 I told them how the hand of my God had been favorable to me and also about the king's words which he had spoken to me. Then they said, "Let us arise and build." So they put their hands to the good work.(nasb) Neh 2:18 Et indicavi eis manum Dei mei, quod esset bona mecum, et verba regis quæ locutus esset mihi, et aio: Surgamus, et ædificemus. Et confortatæ sunt manus eorum in bono.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:18 Entonces les declaré cómo la mano de mi Dios era buena sobre mí, y asimismo las palabras del rey, que me había dicho. Y dijeron: Levantémonos y edifiquemos. Así esforzaron sus manos para bien.(E) Néhémie 2:18 Et je leur racontai comment la bonne main de mon Dieu avait été sur moi, et quelles paroles le roi m'avait adressées. Ils dirent: Levons-nous, et bâtissons! Et ils se fortifièrent dans cette bonne résolution.(F) Neh 2:18 Und sagte ihnen an die Hand meines Gottes, die gut über mir war, dazu die Worte des Königs, die er zu mir geredet hatte. Und sie sprachen: So laßt uns auf sein und bauen! Und ihre Hände wurden gestärkt zum Guten.(D) Neh 2:18 καὶ ἀπήγγειλα αὐτοῖς τὴν χεῖρα τοῦ θεοῦ ἥ ἐστιν ἀγαθὴ ἐπ᾽ ἐμέ καὶ τοὺς λόγους τοῦ βασιλέως οὓς εἶπέν μοι καὶ εἶπα ἀναστῶμεν καὶ οἰκοδομήσωμεν καὶ ἐκραταιώθησαν αἱ χεῖρες αὐτῶν εἰς ἀγαθόν(lxx) Neh 2:18 And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king's words that he had spoken to me. So they said, "Let us rise up and build." Then they set their hands to this good work.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:19 ============ Neh 2:19 But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official, and Geshem the Arab heard it, they mocked us and despised us and said, "What is this thing you are doing? Are you rebelling against the king?"(nasb) Neh 2:19 Audierunt autem Sanaballat Horonites, et Tobias servus Ammanites, et Gosem Arabs, et subsannaverunt nos, et despexerunt, dixeruntque: Quæ est hæc res quam facitis? numquid contra regem vos rebellatis?(vulgate) Nehemías 2:19 Mas habiéndolo oído Sanbalat horonita, y Tobías el siervo amonita, y Gesem el árabe, hicieron escarnio de nosotros, y nos despreciaron, diciendo: ¿Qué es esto que hacéis vosotros? ¿Os rebeláis contra el rey?(E) Néhémie 2:19 Sanballat, le Horonite, Tobija, le serviteur ammonite, et Guéschem, l'Arabe, en ayant été informés, se moquèrent de nous et nous méprisèrent. Ils dirent: Que faites-vous là? Vous révoltez-vous contre le roi?(F) Neh 2:19 Da aber das Saneballat, der Horoniter und Tobia, der ammonitische Knecht, und Gesem, der Araber, hörten, spotteten sie unser und verachteten uns und sprachen: Was ist das, das ihr tut? Wollt ihr von dem König abfallen?(D) Neh 2:19 καὶ ἤκουσεν Σαναβαλλατ ὁ Αρωνι καὶ Τωβια ὁ δοῦλος ὁ Αμμωνι καὶ Γησαμ ὁ Αραβι καὶ ἐξεγέλασαν ἡμᾶς καὶ ἦλθον ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς καὶ εἶπαν τί τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο ὃ ὑμεῖς ποιεῖτε ἦ ἐπὶ τὸν βασιλέα ὑμεῖς ἀποστατεῖτε(lxx) Neh 2:19 But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official, and Geshem the Arab heard of it, they laughed at us and despised us, and said, "What is this thing that you are doing? Will you rebel against the king?"(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 2:20 ============ Neh 2:20 So I answered them and said to them, "The God of heaven will give us success; therefore we His servants will arise and build, but you have no portion, right or memorial in Jerusalem."(nasb) Neh 2:20 Et reddidi eis sermonem, dixique ad eos: Deus cæli ipse nos juvat, et nos servi ejus sumus: surgamus et ædificemus: vobis autem non est pars, et justitia, et memoria in Jerusalem.(vulgate) Nehemías 2:20 Entonces les respondí, y les dije: El Dios del cielo, Él nos prosperará, y nosotros sus siervos nos levantaremos y edificaremos; porque vosotros no tenéis parte ni derecho, ni memoria en Jerusalén.(E) Néhémie 2:20 Et je leur fis cette réponse: Le Dieu des cieux nous donnera le succès. Nous, ses serviteurs, nous nous lèverons et nous bâtirons; mais vous, vous n'avez ni part, ni droit, ni souvenir dans Jérusalem.(F) Neh 2:20 Da antwortete ich ihnen und sprach: Der Gott des Himmels wird es uns gelingen lassen; denn wir, seine Knechte, haben uns aufgemacht und bauen.
