Today's Date: ======= Ecclesiastes 11:1 ============ Ecl 11:1 Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, for you will find it after many days.(nasb) Ecl 11:1 [Mitte panem tuum super transeuntes aquas, quia post tempora multa invenies illum.(vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:1 Echa tu pan sobre las aguas; que después de muchos días lo hallarás.(E) Ecclésiaste 11:1 Jette ton pain sur la face des eaux, car avec le temps tu le retrouveras;(F) Ecl 11:1 Laß dein Brot über das Wasser fahren, so wirst du es finden nach langer Zeit.(D) Ecl 11:1 ἀπόστειλον τὸν ἄρτον σου ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τοῦ ὕδατος ὅτι ἐν πλήθει τῶν ἡμερῶν εὑρήσεις αὐτόν(lxx) Ecl 11:1 Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days.(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 11:2 ============ Ecl 11:2 Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth.(nasb) Ecl 11:2 Da partem septem necnon et octo, quia ignoras quid futurum sit mali super terram.(vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:2 Reparte a siete, y aun a ocho; porque no sabes el mal que vendrá sobre la tierra.(E) Ecclésiaste 11:2 donnes-en une part à sept et même à huit, car tu ne sais pas quel malheur peut arriver sur la terre.(F) Ecl 11:2 Teile aus unter sieben und unter acht; denn du weißt nicht, was für Unglück auf Erden kommen wird.(D) Ecl 11:2 δὸς μερίδα τοῖς ἑπτὰ καί γε τοῖς ὀκτώ ὅτι οὐ γινώσκεις τί ἔσται πονηρὸν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν(lxx) Ecl 11:2 Give a serving to seven, and also to eight, For you do not know what evil will be on the earth.(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 11:3 ============ Ecl 11:3 If the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies.(nasb) Ecl 11:3 Si repletæ fuerint nubes, imbrem super terram effundent. Si ceciderit lignum ad austrum aut ad aquilonem, in quocumque loco ceciderit, ibi erit.(vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:3 Si las nubes fueren llenas de agua, sobre la tierra la derramarán; y si el árbol cayere al sur, o al norte, en el lugar que el árbol cayere, allí quedará.(E) Ecclésiaste 11:3 Quand les nuages sont pleins de pluie, ils la répandent sur la terre; et si un arbre tombe, au midi ou au nord, il reste à la place où il est tombé.(F) Ecl 11:3 Wenn die Wolken voll sind, so geben sie Regen auf die Erde; und wenn der Baum fällt, er falle gegen Mittag oder Mitternacht, auf welchen Ort er fällt, da wird er liegen.(D) Ecl 11:3 ἐὰν πληρωθῶσιν τὰ νέφη ὑετοῦ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἐκχέουσιν καὶ ἐὰν πέσῃ ξύλον ἐν τῷ νότῳ καὶ ἐὰν ἐν τῷ βορρᾷ τόπῳ οὗ πεσεῖται τὸ ξύλον ἐκεῖ ἔσται(lxx) Ecl 11:3 If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth; And if a tree falls to the south or the north, In the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie.(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 11:4 ============ Ecl 11:4 He who watches the wind will not sow and he who looks at the clouds will not reap.(nasb) Ecl 11:4 Qui observat ventum non seminat; et qui considerat nubes numquam metet.(vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:4 El que al viento mira, no sembrará; y el que mira a las nubes, no segará.(E) Ecclésiaste 11:4 Celui qui observe le vent ne sèmera point, et celui qui regarde les nuages ne moissonnera point.(F) Ecl 11:4 Wer auf den Wind achtet, der sät nicht; und wer auf die Wolken sieht, der erntet nicht.(D) Ecl 11:4 τηρῶν ἄνεμον οὐ σπερεῖ καὶ βλέπων ἐν ταῖς νεφέλαις οὐ θερίσει(lxx) Ecl 11:4 He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 11:5 ============ Ecl 11:5 Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things.(nasb) Ecl 11:5 Quomodo ignoras quæ sit via spiritus, et qua ratione compingantur ossa in ventre prægnantis, sic nescis opera Dei, qui fabricator est omnium.(vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:5 Como tú no sabes cuál es el camino del viento, [o] cómo [crecen] los huesos en el vientre de la mujer encinta, así ignoras la obra de Dios, el cual hace todas las cosas.(E) Ecclésiaste 11:5 Comme tu ne sais pas quel est le chemin du vent, ni comment se forment les os dans le ventre de la femme enceinte, tu ne connais pas non plus l'oeuvre de Dieu qui fait tout.(F) Ecl 11:5 Gleichwie du nicht weißt den Weg des Windes und wie die Gebeine in Mutterleibe bereitet werden, also kannst du auch Gottes Werk nicht wissen, das er tut überall.(D) Ecl 11:5 ἐν οἷς οὐκ ἔστιν γινώσκων τίς ἡ ὁδὸς τοῦ πνεύματος ὡς ὀστᾶ ἐν γαστρὶ τῆς κυοφορούσης οὕτως οὐ γνώσῃ τὰ ποιήματα τοῦ θεοῦ ὅσα ποιήσει σὺν τὰ πάντα(lxx) Ecl 11:5 As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 11:6 ============ Ecl 11:6 Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether morning or evening sowing will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good.(nasb) Ecl 11:6 Mane semina semen tuum, et vespere ne cesset manus tua: quia nescis quid magis oriatur, hoc aut illud; et si utrumque simul, melius erit.]~(vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:6 Por la mañana siembra tu semilla, y a la tarde no dejes reposar tu mano; porque tú no sabes cuál es lo mejor, si esto o aquello, o si ambas cosas [son] igualmente buenas.(E) Ecclésiaste 11:6 Dès le matin sème ta semence, et le soir ne laisse pas reposer ta main; car tu ne sais point ce qui réussira, ceci ou cela, ou si l'un et l'autre sont également bons.(F) Ecl 11:6 Frühe säe deinen Samen und laß deine Hand des Abends nicht ab; denn du weißt nicht, ob dies oder das geraten wird; und ob beides geriete, so wäre es desto besser.(D) Ecl 11:6 ἐν πρωίᾳ σπεῖρον τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ εἰς ἑσπέραν μὴ ἀφέτω ἡ χείρ σου ὅτι οὐ γινώσκεις ποῖον στοιχήσει ἢ τοῦτο ἢ τοῦτο καὶ ἐὰν τὰ δύο ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἀγαθά(lxx) Ecl 11:6 In the morning sow your seed, And in the evening do not withhold your hand; For you do not know which will prosper, Either this or that, Or whether both alike will be good.(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 11:7 ============ Ecl 11:7 The light is pleasant, and it is good for the eyes to see the sun.(nasb) Ecl 11:7 [Dulce lumen, et delectabile est oculis videre solem.(vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:7 Suave ciertamente [es] la luz, y agradable a los ojos ver el sol:(E) Ecclésiaste 11:7 La lumière est douce, et il est agréable aux yeux de voir le soleil.(F) Ecl 11:7 Es ist das Licht süß, und den Augen lieblich, die Sonne zu sehen.(D) Ecl 11:7 καὶ γλυκὺ τὸ φῶς καὶ ἀγαθὸν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς τοῦ βλέπειν σὺν τὸν ἥλιον(lxx) Ecl 11:7 Truly the light is sweet, And it is pleasant for the eyes to behold the sun;(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 11:8 ============ Ecl 11:8 Indeed, if a man should live many years, let him rejoice in them all, and let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything that is to come will be futility.(nasb) Ecl 11:8 Si annis multis vixerit homo, et in his omnibus lætatus fuerit, meminisse debet tenebrosi temporis, et dierum multorum, qui cum venerint, vanitatis arguentur præterita.(vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:8 Porque aunque un hombre viviere muchos años, y se alegrase en todos ellos; acuérdese sin embargo, que los días de las tinieblas serán muchos. Todo cuanto viene [es] vanidad.(E) Ecclésiaste 11:8 Si donc un homme vit beaucoup d'années, qu'il se réjouisse pendant toutes ces années, et qu'il pense aux jours de ténèbres qui seront nombreux; tout ce qui arrivera est vanité.(F) Ecl 11:8 Wenn ein Mensch viele Jahre lebt, so sei er fröhlich in ihnen allen und gedenke der finstern Tage, daß ihrer viel sein werden; denn alles, was kommt, ist eitel.(D) Ecl 11:8 ὅτι καὶ ἐὰν ἔτη πολλὰ ζήσεται ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐν πᾶσιν αὐτοῖς εὐφρανθήσεται καὶ μνησθήσεται τὰς ἡμέρας τοῦ σκότους ὅτι πολλαὶ ἔσονται πᾶν τὸ ἐρχόμενον ματαιότης(lxx) Ecl 11:8 But if a man lives many years And rejoices in them all, Yet let him remember the days of darkness, For they will be many. All that is coming is vanity.(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 11:9 ============ Ecl 11:9 Rejoice, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be pleasant during the days of young manhood. And follow the impulses of your heart and the desires of your eyes. Yet know that God will bring you to judgment for all these things.(nasb) Ecl 11:9 Lætare ergo, juvenis, in adolescentia tua, et in bono sit cor tuum in diebus juventutis tuæ: et ambula in viis cordis tui, et in intuitu oculorum tuorum, et scito quod pro omnibus his adducet te Deus in judicium.(vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:9 Alégrate, joven, en tu adolescencia, y tome placer tu corazón en los días de tu juventud; y anda en los caminos de tu corazón, y en la vista de tus ojos; mas sabe, que sobre todas estas cosas te traerá Dios a juicio.(E) Ecclésiaste 11:9 Jeune homme, réjouis-toi dans ta jeunesse, livre ton coeur à la joie pendant les jours de ta jeunesse, marche dans les voies de ton coeur et selon les regards de tes yeux; mais sache que pour tout cela Dieu t'appellera en jugement.(F) Ecl 11:9 So freue dich, Jüngling, in deiner Jugend und laß dein Herz guter Dinge sein in deiner Jugend. Tue, was dein Herz gelüstet und deinen Augen gefällt, und wisse, daß dich Gott um dies alles wird vor Gericht führen.(D) Ecl 11:9 εὐφραίνου νεανίσκε ἐν νεότητί σου καὶ ἀγαθυνάτω σε ἡ καρδία σου ἐν ἡμέραις νεότητός σου καὶ περιπάτει ἐν ὁδοῖς καρδίας σου καὶ ἐν ὁράσει ὀφθαλμῶν σου καὶ γνῶθι ὅτι ἐπὶ πᾶσι τούτοις ἄξει σε ὁ θεὸς ἐν κρίσει(lxx) Ecl 11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment.(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 11:10 ============ Ecl 11:10 So, remove grief and anger from your heart and put away pain from your body, because childhood and the prime of life are fleeting.(nasb) Ecl 11:10 Aufer iram a corde tuo, et amove malitiam a carne tua: adolescentia enim et voluptas vana sunt.](vulgate) Ecclesiastés 11:10 Quita, pues, de tu corazón el enojo, y aparta de tu carne el mal; porque la adolescencia y la juventud [son] vanidad.(E) Ecclésiaste 11:10 Bannis de ton coeur le chagrin, et éloigne le mal de ton corps; car la jeunesse et l'aurore sont vanité.(F) Ecl 11:10 Laß die Traurigkeit in deinem Herzen und tue das Übel von deinem Leibe; denn Kindheit und Jugend ist eitel.(D) Ecl 11:10 καὶ ἀπόστησον θυμὸν ἀπὸ καρδίας σου καὶ παράγαγε πονηρίαν ἀπὸ σαρκός σου ὅτι ἡ νεότης καὶ ἡ ἄνοια ματαιότης(lxx) Ecl 11:10 Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity.(nkjv) ======= Ecclesiastes 12:1 ============ top of the page
